Let me preface this by saying that we have been on several cruises from many different lines. I am a former travel agency owner, and we used to live in South Florida, so I've had the opportunity to cruise on many ships, and tour many more. I have always been a fan of Carnival, and have cruised with them way back in the days of the "Carnivale" and "Mardi Gras". We always have had fun with them. I ...

Sept 10, 2006 Elation cruise to the Eastern Caribbean. We have just returned from our 6th cruise. And the second with Carnival. Started with an overnight stay in Miami. I got busy and booked the Holiday Inn on Biscayne Blvd. It`s right across from Bayside. And you can see the ships in the Port of Miami. If you want rooms close to the port you need to get reservations done early. One mention about ...

Im a 49 year old male traveling with my 19 year old nephew. I choose the Elation because of its itinerary. I had already been to St Thomas, but not the other ports. My parents had been to Half Moon Cay several times and raved about it. San Juan appealed to me because of the history and Grand Turk because of the snorkeling. We flew to Miami on the Friday before embarkation, rented a car, and ...

My wife and I chose to spend our one week vacation aboard the Elation. Our destination was the Eastern Caribbean. I have a friend who had just recently returned from the Western Caribbean and had only wonderful things to say about Carnival Cruise Lines. For starters I'm 30 years old and my wife is 27. This was our first cruise and our first real vacation since our honeymoon over 5 years ago. ...

Here is our review of our 13-20 August 2006 cruise onboard the Elation. I was with my wife and this was our first cruise. I will start by saying we had the greatest time of our lives and we have been on many vacations. This cruise was my retirement from the Navy gift and also celebrating our 22nd wedding anniversary. Departure Day One thing we learned from cc after we had already booked our ...

My husband and I were on the Carnival Elation, Aug.13-20, 2006. We did the Eastern Caribbean itinerary, traveling to Half Moon Cay, St. Thomas, Puerto Rico, and Grand Turk. This was my third cruise, and my husband's second. We had high expectations for this cruise and, for the most part, were not disappointed. Embarkation: We flew into Miami the day before and spent the night at the ...

Embarkation was a breeze! It seems to be getting easier and easier each year. We registered with the Fun Pass and I don't know if that made any difference, but we almost just walked onto the ship. We were able to board at 11:30 but staterooms were not available until 1:00 which wasn't that bad, but we were still hauling around our carry-ons and wanted to drop them off in the room. Once we did that ...

This was my 7 cruise and 4th on Carnival. It was 7 of us (4 adults and 3 teens) just looking for an end-of-summer vacation. Of our party, two had never cruised before and I'm not sure they found it that enjoyable. Food seemed to be an issue as they are extremely picky and don't like things with fancy sauces. Also, they aren't all that into vacationing in general. So, I will make this strictly ...

Cruise out of Miami on the Carnival Elation on July 30. My group consisted of 5 adults, 2 teenage boys and 2 pre-teen girls. We arrived a day earlier. We stayed at the Holiday Inn at Bayside Marketplace. The hotel and the marketplace is across the street from the port of Miami. The hotel is very clean. We had no problem with the room. There is a $10.00 charge for parking per day. Bayside ...

We arrived early in the morning to MIA on the day of our 7/2/06 cruise on Elation. My advice is to skip the shuttle that Carnival runs and just take a taxi to the port. It was a set fare of $24 and we arrived ahead of all the big groups. We were among the first 20 people in line to board the ship. Check in was easy and we waited for about an hour and a half before they let us on the boat. We got ...
