We did the back to back Transatlantic and Mediterranean cruise this May. We arrived at our scheduled port time and there was approximately a one quarter mile long line outside of the terminal in the Florida sun. It took an hour and a half to enter the terminal and then an hour and twenty minutes to get our COVID test and to get registered. We finally boarded the ship 3 hours later. During the ...
This cruise was our 50th wedding anniversary celebration. We sailed in the Yacht Club category. Overall, we had a good time (not a great time), but as usual the lasting impression was the last impression.
We pre-booked a post-cruise excursion that would give us a drive-by tour of Rome before dropping us off at the airport. We were expecting them to handle our luggage, see the sites and ...
After having had pleasant experiences on 2 prior NCL trans-Atlantic cruises (both on the NCL JADE), we found the STAR to be a poor comparison. The ship's buffet ("Market Café") is loud and extremely noisy, poorly configured with cafeteria-like serving lines that make it hard to get food in crowded conditions, and insufficient seating. Our cabin location on deck 8 was right above the ship's ...
From day one our toilet did not flush at all or only once a day. Out of a 13 day cruise our toilet only worked 4 days with no problem. The customer service staff was helpful, when they saw me heading their way they knew what the problem was. The room steward was very rude when we reported the problem to her, she insisted that I did not know how to flush a toilet. We ended up using the hallway ...
Excellent pricing on Transatlantic Crossing.
Currently sailing the MSC Divina Transatlantic Cruise and have been receiving many questions regarding the ship, the journey and the experience so far.
Internet service is quite slow and intermittent so I will condense this to bullet points.
7 days left on the cruise, hopefully some of these issues will be fixed. I'm hopeful!
The ...
While the ship's public rooms are awesome, it's not enough to make up for the cramped cabin, less than average food, loud and obnoxious travelers, limited activities and the incessant announcements at the most inappropriate times in 5 different languages. This ship is so noisy and loud, you'll be begging for a place to go for just a few minutes of peace and quiet. Oh, yeah....you'll find refuge ...
Overall I rate our experience as poor. Here are some details. The entertainment shows, we felt had too much opera singing, it felt like it only appealed to a niche audience and didn’t appeal to the larger group. I think people were interested in seeing more flavorful acting, dancing and regular music from 50s, 60s or 70s, so we could sing along. We waited too long for waiter service, and ...
I choose the cruise because l liked the places it visited. When we arrive to pick up the ship in Miami the guys that take the suitcases asked for a tip without even touching the cases got the impression that if l did not give him any he was not going take the cases not a good start complained to the ship they washed there hands of it. Got on the ship it was beautiful inside. I paid all inclusive ...
I chose this cruise because my husband wanted to try a trans-Atlantic cruise. The cost was very reasonable and many other couples in our community were traveling on this cruise so it seemed like a great idea. There were some positives and a lot of negatives.
First, the positives were the crew, food and entertainment. The staff were amazing! Very kind and always smiling. The food in the ...
My wife and I booked an April 30th 16 day transatlantic cruise not because of the company (NCL) but for the ports that we wanted to and were supposed to visit.
First issue was cleanliness of the room. My wife returned to the room to pick up her e-reader and witnessed the room steward washing the bathroom floor, toilet, shower, basin and room tops with the hand towel we had used and than ...
