We wanted a short, inexpensive cruise and that is what we got. MSC does not compare well with the better cruise lines like Celebrity, Princess, Holland America, and Royal Caribbean. The best comparison is Carnival, but with a high-end clientele. I am not a foodie but the food was bad. Activities are the typical cruise activities. Now that we are both retired, my wife and I have resumed cruising and as part of that we decided to try a few more of the main-stream lines we had not sailed before. We prefer small to medium size ships (about 100,000 GT or less with under 2,000 passengers) and have no interest in megaships. We were invited to join our cousins on this cruise. Before the cruise they told us that the ship was nice, the overnight stay on the island reserve was great, and the dinner food was poor. They were 100 percent spot on. We picked the cruise after Thanksgiving and the cruise was only a little more than 50 percent full.

The Sky is an old ship. We knew this but NCL claimed their upgrade in 2022 was great. Not.
Pros: Crew, all great, esp. 'Yogi' the butler and 'Huberth', concierge. Layout of the cabin (not the location, aft penthouse suite- above the show theater. Production shows were spectacular, all of them. Cagney's steakhouse was superb.
