NCL Sky Pros 1. Movie selections were good 2. Steak and flounder in the main dining room were very good 3. There is a real Starbucks! 4. No dress codes for dinner. Even specialty restaurants so you can be as casual or dressed up as you’d like. Speaking of dressed up, there are no formal nights but there is a GLOW party one night where you can where all white or neon. 5. The late night snack options are more expansive than pizza like on Carnival Cons 1. Restaurants and bar hours listed as a start time to “close” but what time “close” is was not defined 2. Food selections were repetitive. Dining rooms and buffet had the same menu pretty much every day/night. Burgers, hot dogs, and chicken was the normal lunch menu and the burgers were not well done 3. Italian restaurant did not have Chicken Parmesan which seems like a basic entree. When I asked if they could make it, the Server said they didn’t have mozzarella cheese to melt. However, they had pizza on the menu so not having mozzarella made no sense 4. My husband got an extreme case of sunburn on the private island. Just a consultation with the doctor, not including treatment was $199 and they don’t take insurance. 5. Breakfast hours in the dining room end at 9:30 am. Other cruises I’ve been on serve until 10:30 or 11 6. Hair seemed to be on most towels and cloth napkins...long strands. I’m guessing this is a laundering issue but it is a noticeable problem, especially because the silverware is wrapped in a cloth napkin 7. The staff did not put on shows during dinner like you may be used to from other cruise lines 8. It was difficult to hear most of the announcements in the room. When volume wasn’t an issue, it was sometimes a challenge to understand what the person was saying 9. The Stardust theater was so cold, we could not stay to enjoy the show 10. One line for disembarkation was extremely long and staff didn’t bother to divert people to the other kind with hardly nobody in it 11. The process to take the tender to Grand Stirrup Cay was long and confusing. A lot of time was wasted waiting. Read Less

Needed more to do! 2 days of excursions dropped, one last min, day of, which meant 2 days at sea; too much on a small ship. Food was average and entertainment seemed to be new or just thrown together. Bartenders were nice and great steward. UBP does include bottle water but not Starbucks. It also includes wine with dinner, but only a select few. Captain did a good job of keeping the ship in the sun most of the trip. Key West was fun but we only had 5 hours there....even though we had a day at sea before and after?? We were really looking forward to great stirrup cay but it was cancelled. Nassau was ok but the guides on our tour did not seem to know much and our return boat was late because one of the motors stopped working. Market area is hectic and full of rude people who seemed to not like visitors. Overall, will go with a different cruise line next time. Read Less

This was my first cruise with Norwegian, probably the last as well. It was a truly average experience. Nothing was fabulous and wowed us, on the other hand nothing truly terrible happened. Embarkation went very smoothly, didn't take long to get on the ship. The Entertainment on the ship was not great. One night there was a magician from France and he did a really nice job. The ship performers and singers are hit and miss. Some could sing and some definitely could not. The Dining was strange, I personally do not like the come as you are dress code. I don't want to sit in the dining room with people in their shorts/ tube tops/ flip flops. The dining room was almost completely empty every night, I'm not sure where people were eating. The buffet was very small and didn't have many options. Our cabin attendant was not thorough. Our room was dirty when we arrived, we removed hair from the shower and the bed. And the carpet had not been vacuumed. Some of the workers on the ship were not very friendly or hospitable, I did witness a couple of interactions where I thought they were quite rude. Shore excursions were not plentiful, we booked everything outside the cruise line because we couldn't find enough options. Visited the spa once for a massage, the person doing the massage was very pushy and aggressive with the sales pitch to buy products. I was so uncomfortable I never went back and I had a 50.00 coupon, it just wasn't worth it. Overall, it was all "okay" but I want to have a great experiences on vacation...not just okay. I probably would not cruise with them again. Read Less

This was my first cruise and I must say the overall experience was fair. Document check was quick and smooth. Norma provide us with spot on service with a smile. Boarding the ship was quick and effortless and the room available sooner than expected. Even luggage arrived in a timely fashion. News letter was a great help and informative. The trip listed 4 ports, we got to see two. Trip was to see the St Thomas/Bahamas. Understand that things happen but to miss two parts. Recvd money but not enough!! Service in the restaurants was on the slow side. Had reservations - arrived early but still had to wait beyond book time. Selection of food was OK – no shrimp or lobster offered and prime rib was post on menu only to be removed!! Pool needed to be cleaned more often as it was full of hair! This was my first cruise and I had heard that the Norwegian Cruise Line was a better cruise experience. Well I was a little disappointed. The food variety was not that good. The best part of the cruise for me was meeting people from all over the world. The embankments stops. I understand the devastation that happened in the Bahamas but we should had another day in Cozumel or Key West, instead of just floating at sea. The rocking of the boat was uneasy to enjoy walking around the ship. Now the worst part of the cruise was the smoking in the casino part of the ship. They need those smokeless ashtrays. My door decoration was missing when we returned from the Birthday dinner. That was a memorable piece from this cruise, which was my first cruise. The drinks were great and well made. Duty Free gift shop was very nice. Read Less

We chose this cruise because it fit a tight schedule perfectly. We "Lyfted" from the airport for less than $20 when Norwegian wanted over $60 for 2 people. Once we arrived at the port boarding was amazingly simple, we just zoomed right in. We were allowed to go to our cabin at 14:00 and our bags were right there when we got off the elevator on our deck. We had one minor problem with a light in the restroom of our cabin but we called guest services and an engineer knocked on the door in five minutes. We left for dinner and when we returned the problem was solved. Very efficient. The ship was very nice and staff was very gracious. The food was awesome and the entertainment great. We enjoyed the entire ship more than we really intended because we didn't get to go to two of the four ports of call. Granted, it was hurricane season and we knew before we sailed Freeport had too much damage, but we were really looking forward to the Great Stirrup Cay port since it is owned by Norwegian. But, with the looming tropical storm building, it was determined to be too dangerous to travel in that direction. Our less than stellar review has nothing to do with the ship but we question whether we made the proper choice to sail at this time of year... Read Less

Note: Hurricane Dorian had just gone through a week beforehand so I am not going to base any of my review on the Nassau Port beach areas or initial expectation of beach enjoyment rather, I will focus my review on the Navigator, Nassau, & Coco Cay's activities and amenities. We had booked beach/ocean excursions but canceled after the hurricane knowing that the water would be full of debris and not clear. It's a good thing or we would have wasted a lot of money. Myself & 18 Year Old Daughter Ocean View Room - Deck 2 Budget Trip to Enjoy the Ship & Ports - No extra packages etc. We literally wanted to sit by the pool and on the beach. First, the Cons: Ship: The ship is showing signs of wear and tear, seats in certain venues are worn and look rough. Cushions on the deck in the Solarium are stained and as the fabric is a solid, light color, it has a particularly "nasty" vibe on the cushioned couple's lounges...if you know what I mean. (Hey Designers....the cushions would be better off with a printed fabric.) The Solarium pool is a little worn and the fountains never worked while we were there. On cruise days, there just wasn't enough shaded seating as an option on the decks and if you didn't get there early, there wasn't enough seating around the pools, period. We spent a lot of time looking for pool seating then heading indoors so as not to get burned until people would disperse for activities. Seriously, there was NO music at the Solarium, no steel drums, no dj, nothing...just this weird dead air silence or chatter from the people laying about. We could hear music from the other pool but if you didn't want to share the pool with kids, you didn't get the fun entertainment or music at all. There wasn't enough music on board in my opinion. Cabin: Let me say, I was hesitant about our cabin location but I LOVED it. This was a budget trip but I can't do rooms without natural light so I spent more on the OceanView but didn't choose our room. Our steward was super nice and kept our space very nice but you could tell that she was just "done & over" the whole thing. We made sure to leave her a nice tip and try to keep our space clean. I felt that we may have been in her way a lot. As for the room, we had 2 twins set up and everything in our cabin was perfect except, 1. there was mold growing between the glass and wall in the shower behind the seal, not a place that can be cleaned. (poor design) 2. The decor and linens are starting to look worn and there are a lot of stains on the whites. 3. Our window stayed pretty dirty which hindered our view.....we couldn't tell if it was between the glass or outside but it's probably because it was so low to the water. Food: Windjammer had too much repetition, especially at breakfast and lunch. The food seemed to be geared toward the kid's palate, not adults as much. This is probably a good way to get cruisers to try the elevated dining but be prepared for that if you plan on traveling on a budget. The "American" food choices were a bit bland while the "International" foods were sometimes oversalted, especially the meat at the taco bar by the pool.....add rice and beans to subdue that. Also, if you like chocolate, you are going to really be searching the ship, there wasn't a lot. If you don't drink a lot of alcohol or sodas, buying a drink package is pointless but be prepared to have little to no selection for beverages. On day one, the Windjammer had coffee, hot tea, water, ice tea, lemonade, and oj, after day one, I only saw coffee, hot tea, water and apple juice (watered down)....you had to really hunt down water as the dispensers were often empty. It's difficult to refill water bottles at the dispensers but quick tip, if you go to the soda dispensers, they also have water and you can fit a water bottle under the spout. The hot tea selection is pretty decent so if you can find ice (good luck) you can make a decent ice tea....bring your own reusable bottle/cup or you will struggle to stay hydrated. Entertainment: Again, more music on the Solarium deck please! Also, throughout the ship, there needs to be more music during the daytime. The rest of this con is personal preference as entertainment is so subjective. Much of the Promenade entertainment felt very "middle school pep rally" except the live bands across from the Cafe Promenade...they were awesome even though you had to stand in the walkways to watch. The library needs to be repurposed; I was told that a lot of the books get thrown out when there is a shipboard virus or people walk off with them so it was really a sad sight to see almost empty shelves. This would be a good space to display more art, have a coffee house vibe, or even just some sort of interactive space. If you are a solo traveler or have a travel companion that is introverted, plan on a lot of people watching as most activities on board are hard to enjoy solo. Nassau - Since we canceled our water activities, we decided to explore Nassau by foot and have lunch at Senor Frogs (go see Michael, he's great). We explored the Straw Market and walked around the town a bit. There is a LOT of aggressive souvenir selling, most of which are repeated items, look for local artisans that are sitting and making and buy from them then just say no thank you when you are finished. On the walking paths, a lot of "high end" shops with "callers" from all sides. If you are traveling with small children or those who have sensory sensitivities, this can be overwhelming and scary. We decided after several hours of being called after ("Mami, can I be your son-in-law!" was constant) it was time to go back and just enjoy some quiet pool time. Ok, Now the Pros - If you are traveling with kids, this is the ship for you!!! Ship: The waterslides, flowrider, rockwall (early before it gets hot), courts, putt putt golf, pools, WATERSLIDES, game rooms, ice skating rink (bring long pants and socks), laser tag, splash parks, teen rooms, WATERSLIDES are AMAZING!! Did I mention the waterslides???? I'm almost 50 and I LOVED them, totally went on them more than you can imagine. If you are are traveling with kids, you are going to have fun. You can even sit in the pool and watch family friendly movies after dinner. The side balconies on the 4th deck and deck 3 are the best places to hang out when the ship arrives and leaves the docks....it's just beautiful and gives that windy "I'm king of the world" feel. If you don't mind being in full sun, there are a lot of upper deck areas to enjoy the view the ride. However, if you need to be indoors because you fry crispy in 10 minutes, head to the Cosmopolitan during the day, it's practically always empty and has a gorgeous view from the top with wrap around windows. You can take your drink up there, a journal, book, sketch pad and have hours of uninterrupted solitude with a great view. Food: If you aren't eating at the Select Restaurants on board but are tired of the Windjammer, make sure you go to the dining room! Their food is top notch and if you get Rob & Felix as your servers, you are going to be pampered. Don't feel bad if you want to order 2 desserts or appetizers, it's totally worth it. Do it! Never leave the dining room without experiencing the creme brulee....if you don't get it, you have missed out. I've decided that anytime the dining room is open when I am on a cruise, I will be there. It saved the food experience for our trip. The taco bar by the main pool is a tasty alternative to the lunch in the Windjammer but their meat tends to be on the salty side so make sure that you get a little extra beans or rice to cut that and some lime and you will be happy! Entertainment: If you are planning a cruise and you love art, add an art budget to your allowance....oh my word, the art auction by Park West was the absolute best fun. I didn't have it in my budget but I left with 6 authenticated, signed art prints in hand and I'm waiting on my Anatole Krasnyansky print to arrive. I just kept entering raffles and participating in the art games and I'm stoked that I came home with so much artwork. I have a few that I like and I've got gifts for Christmas! Look for the piano man in the elevators, that's a lot of fun. Go to the shows....some are hokey but Showgirls was great! We saw their last performance but I'm sure it will be replaced by something else equally great. I enjoyed the Latin dancing and music on board BUT would have loved to have someone to dance with...they need to add professional dancers (like in Dirty Dancing) to dance with solo cruisers because otherwise we have to sit and watch. :( Go to the late night dance parties if you like pulsating dance club vibes on a low key level. I noted that there were a lot of in-bar activities during the day; game show type games, karaoke, bingo, wine/martini/whiskey tastings, and most were geared towards couples. Coco Cay - IF YOU HAVE KIDS>>>>>>>WOWZA! The splash park, waterslides, pools, etc are amazing, you will have a blast. It's a waterpark on an island. Plan on spending the whole day the same way that you do at a waterpark....bring your sunscreen and just let the kids RUN. Read Less

Chose this cruise based on itinerary to Key West and timing available, happened to be peak of hurricane season. Norwegian cancelled Freeport prior to cruise due to devastation, was planned to be a sea day which was fine, but no refund of port fees. Due to worries about Hurricane Humberto, Stirrup cay was cancelled as well, with another sea day, with a $4 credit per person, not sure what that was about. Balcony room--Super tight on space, smaller than any other ship I've on(6-7?). Cabin would be fine for 2 guests, but 3 adults is not comfortable due to storage space. Basically kept clothes that would go in a drawer in the suitcase, could only be accessed when the sofabed is stowed. Shower is about the size of an RV, smaller than experienced previously. reserved room for 3 people, only received towels for two, but quickly corrected. Buffets were ok, but expected meals to be kind of themed for locations visited, didn't really see that, seemed to be decent variety, but rather plain. The Local has Pub-type food, wanted to try the fish and chips but serving hours were only 9pm to 5am, too late for me...would have loved to have lunch there once, but not an option. Main dining rooms were good, liked the crossings better, tried each meal in each place. Small thing, but on two separate occasions, we had two salts and no peppers, and not enough settings for our party of three, just seemed like training in progress and not polished, but attendants quickly remedied all issues. Awesome high quality sushi/rolls in the Pinnacle, used one of the free dinings there, and the other at Cagneys--Surf and Turf is a popular selection, and 8 oz Filet was perfect...Lobster was a bit overcooked, and doing it again, I would pick all meat instead. Was worried about the cabin directly under the fitness center, we could hear the treadmill pounding on the ceiling during the day, but luckily not too many people there in the wee hours. plenty of equipment in the gym. Sauna is inside the spa, but is free to access if you check in with the staff. Not a big fan of singing/dancing type entertainment, but the comedian was quite good. Service at front desk was great, we were able to split the drink package and dining package between different people. In booking, it was only possible to give all freebies to Guest 1 and Guest 2, so we asked at teh desk and they switched it...not sure if that is normal, but worked out great for the wife who isn't a drinker and we were able to dine at the fancy places together. Lots of younger people on the ship, and the free flowing alcohol on multiple sea days led to some unexpected "entertainment" factor at the pool/hot tubs (which were not hot). A new addition was a lifeguard whose job it is to keep people from holding their drinks at the pool/hot tub. Can have them on the outside edge of the edge, but not within the confines. Overall a good cruise, but small room, food variety and non-creative itinerary changes were detractors. Don't think I would choose this ship again, and will definitely be checking the square footage before booking next time. Read Less

We planned our trip along with my brother and his wife who were celebrating their 51st anniversary. well the weather didn't cooperate as hurricane dorian caused a change in itinerary which was unavoidable however when we booked our choices we picked premium bar package and paid the gratuity that goes with it $58.00. The cruise line because of the changes gave everyone free open bar and did not take away the gratuity we were charged and the explanation we received was we were getting top shelf and cruisers who got the free open bar were not. we were only given the top shelf the last two days after the fact. NCL refunded a port charge of $45.00 each. overall we made the best of the trip food was really very good entertainment was excellent one problem was our room was very hot and they had trouble getting the a/c in the room to do a good job. My wife had a minor injury the day of boarding she tripped over a bump in the gangplank fell and cut her arm and leg as well as a bruised knee kind of ruined the first day. but we will most likely cruise with NCL again as we both very much . the buffet was enjoyed freestyle dining and casual attire in the dining room. the selections in the buffet were limited in comparison to other ships we have cruised on. below I have given shore excursions poor because of the situation of changing itinerary no time to really plan our waiter was named andreas and his coworker were excellent they were attentive funny and made sure we were happy with our food. when we would ask for them the maitre'd even made him available by reassigning them from what they were doing and making them available for our meals cudos to the staff in the dining room. I was really excited to be on the biggest and newest cruise ship on Royal Caribbean. This was also my first time on Royal Caribbean even though I've been on many other vessels such as Carnival and Norwegian. Pros: it is beautiful and enormous with many extravagant shows that are worth watching and very entertaining. The room is really nice and spacious as well as the bathrooms. Bar Service: bought the unlimited drinking package and definitely got my moneys worth but service was probably the worst. Quite a few times I've had to wait 30 minutes for a drink. Many bartenders would not even make eye contact with me to ask for a drink. I at times had to try and get their attention (not ideal and quite embarrassing). It wasn't at all bars though. The specific one that had the worst service was at Playmakers sports bar. Justin was the one that served me and many of my family members with mediocre service. Quite rude and intentionally ignored all of us. Pro: There was one server, named Greedep at Playmakers who was amazing! Service exceeded my expectations and food came on time. Very kind and welcoming. Pro tip: Go to Schooners bar and you will def get a good drink with good service as well. Best cosmos there! Main Dining Room: did not exceed my expectations. Felt very crowded and food was just okay. Everything was subpar except for service which was excellent. Overall the cruise was fun, lots of activities to do. For the adults, definitely recommend lounging at the solarium where it is relaxing with huge bath pools/jacuzzis. Read Less

This is one of NCLs smaller ships, minimal extras, meant for short trips. Our room was a porthole oceanview, the window was larger than we expected. Shower didn't drain well, notified front desk and it was resolved immediately. Local Pub (their version of Sheehans) was not 24 hrs as we hoped but had a similar menu. The sushi was fantastic but kinda tucked away, you had to know the ship had it to find it. Entertainment and activities were as expected, meaning smaller boat smaller productions however they were good. Our cabin was always clean, but we didn't get any towel animals...first time that ever happened and were a little disappointed because it is something we always look forward to. We went swimming with the pigs in Freeport, it was a fantastic experience and even took us to another location to go shopping. The island is repairing after the hurricane and things to do and places to shop are limited. Nassau we just walked around and found a fantastic bar called Pirate Republic Brewery...wonderful staff, craft beers and food. GSC was nice, we snorkeled (a lot of jellyfish) and enjoyed lounging in the sun. Food and drinks are included (NCL owns the island) and the buffet was good. We would probably not go again as this is definitely a younger less respectful group of people who cruise. Maybe it was the time of year or the fact that it is a short, alcohol included cruise. The cruise needs better entertainment and activities. Not enough pool and hot tub space for all guest. Not enough lounge chairs at the pool area. I will say all the staff were very good. August is the month of my 50th birthday and have always wanted to take a cruise! This just wasn't the experience I had hoped for. Please know that it wasn't horrible by any means there were some things that were so special and wonderful. There were also some things that I could have done without and wish could erase from my mind. Can not say enough GREAT things about Splash Academy for our son! He LOVED to go there Koala and the entire crew were so so wonderful and we will always be grateful! The excursion to Blue Lagoon was so perfect for him as well! The excursion to Great Stirrup Cay was also beautiful and fun, however we were not told that lunch would end at 2:00 and were not exactly watching the clock and barley got anything to eat. For both excursions disembarking and re-boarding was HORRIFIC to have those types of lines with people cutting, pushing and the vulgarity of the language around our 7 year old was too much. There was a MAJOR lack of guidelines or instructions by the crew on how to form lines and respect the lines. We actually saw a 20 something girl punch and elderly woman who was not about to let her cut in the line. It was hard to have to see that much hostility. Huge groups and families and friends insisted on staying together which made things so challenging. We would have appreciated the crew's intervention on helping move things along more smoothly. Our cabin was just lovely in both decor and cleanliness. The stewards were so accommodating. The service was superior especially Guest Services and the Palace and the Crossings dinning rooms. If only the food matched the service. It was OK food, but not what was anticipated by the elegance of the room and quality of service. Food lacked the WOW factor we were expecting. Our first night dining with our son having a blast in the Splash Academy, we got a beautiful table by the window at the Palace and were ready for a romantic evening and just after we toasted our glasses a very loud and obnoxious bachelorette party was seated right next to us and the conversation was just so NOT what we needed or wanted to hear! The daily buffet was again OK, trying to just feed the fully booked ship. The hand sprayers were always super friendly though! There really seemed to be a lack of friendly service in the bar areas, which is not surprising considering several of our fellow cruise travelers. We paid for the upgraded beverage package and it was not worth the money due to the fact that the masses who were getting the freebies were so demanding, we couldn't even ask for our premiums that we paid for. The only activities it felt like were available besides leaving the ship on excursions were partying and watching party goers getting vulgar and hammered and of course the gambling. We did enjoy the comedian and the "variety" show on the first night and would have liked to see more things like this available vs. karaoke and dance parties. Walking around the deck was just so special though. The last night we went to order pictures and bought a "flash drive" when we went to pick it up there were no pictures?? We had to order the pictures and then the flash drive?? No one helped with this and we were charged almost $50 for a flash drive with NO pictures. Still waiting to see if we can still get pictures. Oh and there is another charge on my account from Norwegian pending as I type this review for another $100.00 Have to call and ask what that is all about... If I won a free cruise I would absolutely go again! That way there would be no complaining, it's free! But I don't see us paying to go on another cruise. When we go back to the Bahamas will will just fly. Read Less

The ship is renovated on the inside and nicely done. The Pool on this ship is way too small for the number of people. I found the kiddie pool on front of ship was more relaxing then main pool. The pool deck had a trashy party atmosphere- women were twerking on pool deck. The DJ at the white party was playing obscene music- with children present. The Norwegian Sky Bahamas cruise is more of a booze cruise. However, this will be ending soon as they are stopping the free open bar as of September. And people will then not drink as much because they will have to pay. For a first time cruiser the ship and cruise may be enjoyable but for people who have been on other cruise lines and larger ships this cruise is average at best. The buffet lines were lit and I felt like I was in a school cafeteria, or prison. The dining room was a pleasant experience. My husband and I decided to go on a relaxation/romance cruise for our 22nd wedding anniversary. We've only stayed in an inside cabin before, so the oceanview was really cool. We enjoyed watching the sun rise and set and also pulling into and out of port. The best part of the cruise was the free open bar. We figured it would be only a few off brand wines and beers, but it was everything we liked. The worst part was the food choices. Unless you ate dinner at the main dining rooms each meal, the choices were basically always the same. We never found a dessert we really liked. Also, sometimes the cards for the name of the dishes on the buffet were not correct. There were times when the chefs on the buffet line were not nice. Also, sometimes the crew got in the way in the serving lines while they were cleaning. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they were cleaning, but it seemed as if they didn't understand they were in the way in the line. Overall, the cruise was very nice. We were supposed to go to Havana, but that was changed. But, we enjoyed the ports and the ocean. Read Less

GORGEOUS SHIP! Definitely the prettiest, with all the bright colors. The entertainment was great (but VERY sexual) The showgirl show was about nothing but sex, but the comedians and ventriloquist were awesome! FOOD WAS DISGUSTING! The only good food is at the main dining room but that takes 2 hours + Such slow service Never any open chairs! They should definitely enforce no seat saving more. People were saving the ones in the pool at coco cay and not even using them! Have cubbies for items so people don’t waste chairs. All the good events were at night. We had absolutely nothing to do during the at sea day until like 7. Nassau is TRASH! Definitely have to book an expensive trip to another island if you want to enjoy that day. There was a lot of useless employees like people telling you hi in the bathroom and to wash your hands in the dining room. I’d rather not have to pay $60 in gratiuties and not have that If you don’t use the main dining room you shouldn’t even be charged gratituties No outlets by the bed, bring an extension chord! Internet SHOULD NOT BE $22 a day. It should be included in the price of the cruise! Everyone wants internet Read Less

We chose this cruise for a quick weekend getaway without taking much time off work. We chose the Navigator because we sailed on Mariner after the refurbishment about 6 months ago and loved the Mariner renovation. Embarkation- Incredible. From the Uber to onboard in less than 10 minutes. Terminal A is fantastic. Cabin- cabins were beautifully upgraded with new carpet and upholstery (dark blue and gray color scheme). No complaints here. All cabins were available at 1PM. Ship overall- -The good: They did a great job modernizing this older ship. It truly has a similar feel, color scheme, venues, etc. to the brand new Royal ships. The solarium and main pool are beautiful. -The bad: They WAY overdid it with the "upgrades". The outer decks are now cluttered with cabanas and massive hot tubs filled with screaming kids and drunks, so there are few chairs available in the sun. It is pretty from a brochure standpoint, but totally impractical and chaotic in real life. They removed the once beautiful fitness area at the front of the ship (along with the FREE locker room, steam and sauna areas) and moved the gym to a small, terrible location at the back of the ship. The ceilings are too low, so the treadmills do not incline, there are limited free weights, limited space, etc. They relocated it to add a whole deck of new cabins to deck 11. With the addition of hundreds of new staterooms, the elevators are always packed. Crowds and waits everywhere. This was never an issue on this ship before the added staterooms and removal of public areas. Food- I attributed this to it being a wekeend cruise, but the food was terrible aside from El Loco Fresh and specialty restaurants. Buffet options for lunch and dinner were along the lines of hamburgers, hotdogs, frozen quality pizza, rice, pasta and marinara, breads, and jello-type deserts. That is completely unacceptable for a $500 per night cruise in my opinion. Ports- CocoCay was beautiful. We had visited in December before the opening of "Perfect Day" and did not spend much time on the island because it was "blah", but they have really transformed this little island into paradise. We spent all day here. The dining options were better than on the ship, the pools and beach were wonderful, and the views were fantastic. We were very lucky with beautiful weather on this sailing. We had a great weekend, but would we chose Navigator of the Seas again? No, we would not, for the following reasons: 1) Sometimes less is more. Mariner of the Seas (sistership sailing out of Pt. Canaveral) had a slightly less extensive refurbishment that added most of the same amenities, but with less added cabins, it left the beautiful pool deck alone, and left the beautiful gym area intact. If you are a avid gym-goer or physically active, choose Mariner or Independence of the Seas for your short cruise needs. 2) There will be music or action/kids movies loudly blaring on the pool deck movie screen at all times... to the point that you will be able to hear it even in the "quiet" solarium. I assume this is Royal Caribbean's attempt to get the party going, but it kills the mood, not enhances it. 3) The free food venues were appalling. We have sailed with Royal Caribbean on approximately 25 sailings over the past 20 years, and the food was shocking on this sailing. Take advantage of El Loco Fresh and venues on CocoCay for more appealing complimentary food options. Read Less

This was my second time cruising with Carnival. The Carnival Victory definitely needs some upgrades. The staff was just Ok, they seemed to be very annoyed by many of the Guest!. I did meet one Staff member in the sit down dining area a woman from Ukraine who was very pleasant. As I was dining she walked up to me and asked how everything was and asked if I needed anything ( I thought that was very nice she was the only Crew Member to greet me literally). The food was cool the great thing about it was if you did not like an entre' you could order another. There were plenty of children and Teens on the boat who were very loud and obnoxious. The Pool was a traffic jam daily, Jacuzzi also. I brought a day Pass at the RIU resort in the Bahamas for my excursion. It was wonderful ( all inclusive) with a banging Jerk Chicken Hut next to the pool.. Thank me later). it was 20.00 cheaper than online to just show up and pay for it. My taxi ride was 4.00 each way!. I thought is was horrible Carnival shut the pool down at 5 pm on Sunday ( the cruise was not over). They were very slow to put more cups out by the ice and drink machine. That was completely lazy and disrespectful to the guest. They acted as if the Guest was getting on their nerves. If you want to Smell Weed be around wild children cutting in front of you on all parts of the boat, this is definitely the boat for you. I had a room with a Balcony so that's where I received all of my Peace. I definitely will find a more upscale cruise line for my taste!! Read Less

After our destination was changed from Cuba, NCL decided to change the itinerary to a full Bahamian cruise. Although we hoped that NCL would have been more communicative during the change, we decided to make the most of it and attend anyway. I have cruised with multiple lines. The Sky was small but clean and it was nice. We witnessed staff turning over rooms on several occasions and to do so, they thoroughly vacuumed in between sofa cushions! Cabins were a bit small, but the stewards were very attentive. We only had one outlet. The bathroom only had a special outlet for shavers, so it was difficult to use multiple items requiring electricity. Ex: it took 40 minutes to obtain an iron and to use it, you had to unplug anything requiring a charge and then hurry to use it because housekeeping wanted it back. The cruise was all-inclusive and the food was good. The drinks differed by bartender and ship location, so we had to remember our favorite bartenders. It seems that the drinks may have been stronger if we were not on a cruise thatbcame with alcohol included. We purchased the upgraded premium package and it seems that was a bit of a waste on this cruise. Again, the food was good; not spectacular. I wish that the dining menus varied a bit more each day. The specialty restaurants were always crowded and we went to Cagney’s one night. Each time we sat down, whether in general or specialty dining, we always had quite a wait. Excursions were amazing! We went on excursions each day and I’m so happy that we rented a large private cabana on Great Stirrup. The day at Atlantis with the dolphin encounter and the following day’s luxury day sail were definite stand outs; they were amazing. But for the horrible experience on the last day, we would have likely sailed again for the value. Generally speaking, the entertainment was just okay, but our cruise was ruined by the comedy show on the last night. After 10 minutes of listening to him incessantly use the N-word, make jokes about rape, misogynist statements and generally racist and sexist “comedy”, many of us decided that our senses were so wholly offended that we just couldn’t take anymore. Many of us left and remarked that we were absolutely shocked that NCL felt that this brand of hatred was acceptable; far less funny. He should have been vetted and NCL managamenent shoukdnhace made it clear what was and was not acceptable. If this represents the views of NCL, they can keep the 50% discount; I can say without a doubt that we will not be back. Read Less

This trip was intended to be a short girls weekend, free of kids and husbands. We drove from Tampa to Miami and choose to use Premier Parking. We arrived at the port around 1230pm and we through security and aboard within 15 minutes! We headed up to grab some lunch and I have to say that garden café is much smaller than I am accustom to on the bigger ships. The choices are minimal. Pool deck is nice. Especially loved Champs bar and the table seating for smokers. We ate in the Palace and had the BEST SERVICE. But. that's why we love NCL, service is always amazing. Food... ugh.. that could improve for sure. The menu in main dining rooms were also limited, and served the same items for three days. Warning - the steak comes covered in gravy! Steak should never be destroyed like that... steer clear. Cabin was clean. Shower is tiny! I am not a large woman, but I had the hardest time shaving my legs! Entertainment was just sad. Comedian was horrible. I am not a fan of cover bands or singers. Shops were pretty sad too. Key West - we got off to find Blue McCaw - bloody mary bar, and got back on board. I live in Fl, so Key West isn't a place I need to be. Great Stirrup Cay- Nice beach day. Great service, plenty of chairs. Overpriced market! Beware, they charge you based on how they feel at that moment. Overall a great weekend with my bestie. It wouldn't say this was the BEST cruise, but I had a nice relaxing time. Read Less

The ship was very pretty, had most of what we like in elegant decor to delight our senses and keep us dazzled. The food, too, was very good, possibly the best we have experienced in a wealth of cruises we have taken with a variety of cruise lines. We had an inside cabin off the Royal Promenade, which meant we had a window that looked down at the shoppers. The room, itself, was very nice, with a window seat as well as a little couch, besides the desk chair. It was roomy, with enough nooks for storage for our short 4-day cruise, that I would consider to book such a cabin again. However, the bed was hard - I mean board hard! Our quality of sleep was not good for the 4 nights. We tossed and turned most of the night, only to fall asleep and wake much later in the morning because we had no sense of day or night because of being in an inside. This sleep pattern disrupted our usual cruising routine. Anxious to start using the Workout room, we went straight there the first morning. The weight-powered machines were adequate, but when we attempted to use the bikes, treadmill, etc. they all were password accessible. The place hummed with activity, and I saw no staff member there that would assist us in how to activate any of these equipment. So... we left, and never returned to the workout room for the duration of the cruise. We dined twice in the dining room with our open dining option, and the service was good both times. We actually made a reservation for those dining nights when we first boarded the ship. I asked the staff taking our reservation which night was formal nigh, and he informed me that they do not do formal nights anymore. Having packed my husband’s suit, I was disappointed this wasn’t made clear on their webpage. We cruised with my daughter and her family, and I hoped to get a nice picture of us all decked out in our best attire. Originally the formal night is the second night of shorter cruises, but we chose a different night to go to the dining room, to better fit with our daytime plans. But what I wasn’t told is that RCI or maybe just this ship does a Dress Up anyway you Like evening which is the same as formal night, and all the photographers were on hand... and we missed it as we sat upstairs in the Windjammer enjoying the casualness of the night, unknowing... The focus on hand-washing as people entered the Windjammer was humorous, with staffers playing guitars, singing and prancing around “washy-wash your hands, scrubby, scrub your hands” to popular tunes, and with the exception of one very tuneful fellow, sung painfully off key. The service there was good to excellent, but I found the tables so close together, and the chairs difficult to move on the carpet, that it was a struggle to get up and return to your table, weaving through tables and chairs heavy with other diners. No more pretty glassware is given in the specialty drink. I was told that stopped, even though their website still shows pictures of those lovely glasses. Huge disappointment, hoping to add to my collection. But about the drinks, it costs around $15 per glass. Plan to drop $30+ for two drinks... making those high priced “drink plans” a better choice for some. Bingo was rather a disappointment, too. Less games, higher prices. No fun Bingo Lingo. Rush, rush, rush. And the same for all the Trivia gatherings we experienced. Boring. Regarding the dance and singing talent of the theatre shows, It was an experience we could have better spent watching TV in our cabin room. But, ah, there were no movies to be seen on that TV without paying $12 to rent. This included movies the ship was showing poolside each day. It didn’t seem fair. So, hanging in the room was not an option on this ship. But lounging in the Solarium was a real relaxing. Bring a good book or two, and find a pool bed. Or maybe a hammock on the upper open decks. But if you grab a towel or two, be warned that if you will need to show your sea pass, and then must return them, Showing your sea pass again. Maybe bring your own beach towels might be the better choice? If you are real savvy with technology, then maneuvering the RCI Ap to find out what’s going on day-to-day, hour-to-hour will be all you need on your phone, providing it is no more than a couple years old model. Otherwise, you can still tote around the paper version, as we did. The Ap was difficult to navigate, and caused more frustration than convenience. We stopped at CocoCay, and it is huge. Daughter had booked a beach bed for her family, and when she stepped off the pier entrance, there were no signs to direct her to where they were. They went to the nearest beach, and walked the sand till they found them an hour later. Later it was discovered that there was an exclusive transport cart to take people to the private beach where rage beach beds were. It took us longer to find them, as we dragged our rented water mats along with our beach bag. We stopped to ask where the beach beds were, and staffers there were clueless till one took the measures to investigate, and put us “elderly” people on a cart transport to the exact beach. It was a nice, quiet beach, I mean very nice. The kids spent the day finding all sorts of sea creatures in the shallows and along their walk through the sandbars. But the beach was far removed from the fun children’s activities, so put on your walking shoes when visiting CocoCay. The second port stop was at Nassau. We stayed on the ship, We noticed that the pier was different. They have added more piers changing the look of the cruise port entrance. It had been a few years since we last were docked in Nassau. And lastly, our final bill. We compared the cost to what they changed our credit card, and it did not jive. I have inquired with RCI and have not received a response from them. And, no, we did not a make any additional purchases on our last day. So...? Be mindful that their bookkeeping might have some chinks in their otherwise Royal Caribbean armor. Read Less

Positives - Entering and exiting the ship was an efficient and easy process. Entertainment, Water Show, Comedians, Dancers - ALL FABULOUS ! Gorgeous impressive looking ship. Staff - some friendly, some not. Windjammer Buffet - food was good. Nice Cabin. Failures - Main dining room - Food was a C+ (fair). Steaks under-cooked,Other steaks overcooked, Food Took too too long. Please teach the chefs how to cook meat. And it was a Frustrating overly long dinner due to the poorly managed kitchen. Waiters were all apologetic. Hook Restaurant - Food took FOREVER Fish dishes were so Dry they were not edible. Timing of all the dishes was off. Operations, Procedures, and quality control all failed. Burn the Hook Restaurant down and start over from scratch. Cabin Telephones - We returned to South Florida 3 days ago and I am still on hold with the Ship's Guest Services. Take the cabin phones and throw them overboard. They are useless. You will NEVER reach anyone from any department. Room Service, Guest Services, Housekeeping - they are all on a smoke break. My (adult) daughters were in Room 10-445. Her entire area was a ghost town. No Staff Anywhere for hours. Need ICE for the room? - Good Luck. The ship is Gorgeous - But completely inefficient and understaffed. At times we were delighted. But there were times we wanted to jump into the ocean. Thank you for your time to read this. Read Less

My husband and I love Royal Caribbean, but we will never sail on this ship again. Despite the million plus overhaul they completed on the ship the rooms were not updated very well. The over-sized balcony stateroom (9362) smelled terrible like moth balls. The hallway near the room smelled like mold. It was very disgusting and disappointing. I was expecting a nice clean experience with the renovation, but that did not happen. Royal Caribbean needs to fix this issue asap! The specialty restaurants were great! Hooked was amazing as was Izumi! The steakhouse left much to be desired for as it did when we sailed on Allure 6 months ago. If you are used to The Capital Grille, or a Maestros level steakhouse you will not receive the same quality(read flavor/deliciousness) here. Skip the steak house and choose any of the other restaurants for sure! The cruise overall was very relaxing. In the future we will definitely choose Oasis Class or better. I usually start with the good on my reviews and I will again. The service on the Dawn was exemplary. Waiters (most of them, notably in the specialty restaurants), cabin steward, butler and concierge, even guest services exceeded expectations. The other good, food in the specialty restaurants. We had amazing meals in both La Cucina. That's about where the good stuff stops though. Going to stick with the food here a minute. MDR food was ok, but not amazing. Too much salt, not enough other flavor. But the buffet, horrendous. Seems to be a common complaint on here, and they're all right. I sampled a bunch of items, couldn't taste much of anything in any of them. Even dishes that looked like they should be flavorful tasted...brown. Thankfully we only ate there once for lunch. Entertainment was another big gripe. None of the big production shows even remotely interested us. The music in the bars was hit and miss. The guitarist was decent, the piano singer... lets not go there. Only act we liked was the duet group Azalea. A constant problem in the venues we were in was the volume level for the space. Gatsby's was too loud, the Atrium was too quiet. On the daytime activity side, I am usually a trivia guy, but I had a hard time having fun with it. Both trivia people were very low energy and the questions were hyper specific. For example, on my previous cruise, the general knowledge trivia winners usually had around 15/20 right, on Dawn, it was around 10. None of the other activities even got my attention as pretty much all of the rest were athletic in some form. Read Less
