I booked this cruise for actually Carnival Live with Kathy Griffith to headline...This cruise was booked to go to Key West & Cozemel @ $955.02 We drove from Wisconsin to Miami, 22 hrs, spent $150 for a 1 nite hotel room, to recieve a email that our itenerary had been changed @ 9:15 pm the nite before we were to depart, not even a 24 hr notice!!! They instead, decided to take us to the bahamas, in which we DID NOT book a trip to the Bahamas!!! Since, we were already in Miami we kept the cruise....Well, we shouldve CANCELLED!! First, we get to the port @ 3 pm, as they told us to.....And NO BOAT!!! Boat didnt come to port until 7:30, so CARNIVAL decided to put us all, about 1500 people on shuttle buses & take us to a mall!!! Then once the boat showed up & we all boarded & we went to FREEPORT, where the boat had technical problems, AGAIN, and we were stuck at port til about 11:00 pm.. Then we went to Nassau, where we were basically bombarded by people who were selling everything but their mother, it was rediculous!!!! No public beach, no dolphins, $150 to go on Atlamtis tour, but plenty of BARS!!! Well, thats great for those who drink, but Im a cancer patient and on this trip with my 20 year old daughter & her boyfriend, we took this cruise to make memories & it turned out to be a nitemare!! But on Carnivals be half they did give us a $ 50 credit & 25% off our next 2-5 day cruise!?? Are u kidding me!!! What an insult, they took our money for a trip to Mexico & cheated us into going to the Bahamas for the SAME PRICE!!!! I WILL NEVER CRUISE WITH THEM, AGAIN....I called their customer service complaint dept, ABSOLUTELY USELESS!!! Do your self a favor & take a cruise with a company that delivers what the customer paid for, not what they decide to give you!! THEY ONLY HAD TO ROB ME, ONCE!! Read Less

Like others that have posted about unknowingly booking on the Gronk party cruise, my wife, myself and our two best friends fell victim to it as well. This was our third cruise on Norwegian and will be our last. We arrived at the port with anticipation of past experiences. Getting through check in and on-boarding was quick and easy. That's where it all went south. Walking on to the ships in the past we had been met with music, staff/crew members dressed up in festive outfits and excitedly welcoming us aboard. This time we were herded through the main door and left to figure out which way to our state rooms, which when we got there were roped off at the hallways since they happened to not be ready and would not be ready for several more hours. We had paid the extra money for the unlimited beverage package, so we headed up to the pool deck to grab a lounge chair and enjoy a few drinks. On past cruises, waiters were like swarms of bees on hone, on this cruise, much like the American Honey Bee, they appeared to have become nearly extinct. So we spent much of our time waiting on the pool deck in line at the bar trying to fend off large crowds just to get a drink. We also quickly noticed that one of the two pools was covered with green felt lined plywood and a stage with sound and lighting had been erected. This was/is a permanent fixture on this ship so all people wanting to go in the pool and hot tubs cram in to just the one pool and set of hut tubs that remained uncovered. Not long after we steamed out from port, we and all others were asked to leave the pool deck, which was still packed with people and those who appeared to once be waiters quickly snapped up lounge chairs and stacked them up in preparation for a Gronk party that we did not have access to because we did not have the pass because we weren't told before or during our booking process that this was a party cruise. From there we headed back to our cabins to prepare for dinner (had the dining package too) at Cagney's Steak House. Our service was average at best, although the food did come out lightning fast. The taste of the food was as expected. Upon receiving the checks, our waiter detailed that although we had already paid gratuities, we could leave him an extra tip. As he picked up the checks, he opened them and said to us out loud, "Wow, you didn't leave me any extra"! The second day we landed at Stirrup Cay. The seas had been very rough the night before, were still pretty rough and the air and water cool, so not many people were anxious to leave the ship. Eventually, our group of four (we travel with our two best friends) headed over and grabbed a chair. The last time we were at Stirrup Cay, there were more than enough waiters to go around and they were jovial and happy to get you drinks. This time there appeared to be two over the entire beach and they had upside down smiles the entire time. So, we (I) spent at least half of my time on Stirrup Cay in line at the cabana bars getting drinks. Back on the ship, we enjoyed walking around, taking in a show or two that night, and singing a little karaoke. They had a sum total of one song book for several people to try to peruse at one time and after about 5 songs they had "technical difficulties" and shut it down. I met a nice couple at the bar who were cruising on Norwegian for the first time after cruising on a few other cruise lines. They mentioned to me in conversation how this would be their one and only cruise on Norwegian since the service was so bad and things were largely off limits to regular cruise passengers. I explained that other NCL cruises we had been on were vastly different experiences, but I ended up being convinced by them that there are too many other options out there to waste time and money on a sub par, budget cruise line that can't afford to properly train or staff their cruises. On previous cruises with NCL, we were warmly greeted by our room attendant and they were happy and jovial conversing openly and freely each time they saw us. Us and our friends had mini suites next to each other and we ended up leaving our tips in the room because we had no idea who our room attendant was. To top it off, our last day we did a quick excursion in Nassau and came back on to the ship around 1pm. We grabbed some food and went to our favorite spot to enjoy music, dancing and festivities on the pool deck. Not only did we not get any drink service other than waiting in long lines at the bar again, but for 4 hours straight there was no music and no entertainment. Just as we were expecting music to come out and play as we were preparing to steam out of port, we were once again whisked off the deck and had our lounge chair privileges revoked. In summary, because of the lack of communication from the cruise line regarding the type of cruise we were sharing the boat with, the poor service from the wait staff, the lack of available entertainment to us, the lack of wait staff on the pool deck and at Stirrup Cay, and the other items mentioned above, we will be cruising elsewhere on our next trip. We booked this cruise with cruise credits from an issue on our $6000 family cruise last spring where our bathroom flooded for over 6 hours and they moved us from our balcony suite to an interior room midway through the cruise. On this cruise, we did spend several hundred dollars more on the beverage package and dining package, but as mentioned, the value just wasn't there. Read Less

Hi, I don't like to review much but it's almost unfair since I always count on this site to all my cruises, at least to give me a sense in what to expect. First let me say that this is my 4th cruise and I have a lot to compare. We were in a large group and some of the factors were not the cruise line fault like the weather. Right from the start they made a mistake on my mothers room card, and she had to wait close to 20 min to get in the ship. The ship was old but that didn't bother us, and cabin was somewhat comfortable , and I soon as we got in our rooms were ready, so that was a plus. I can't emphasize enough the fact that the staff was so friendly, very, very nice and worked very hard to make us happy. The big plus of this ship is that it's all inclusive and the drinks were very good and strong. The bartender was also very nice. So unfortunately this wasn't our greatest cruise and actually was the least enjoyable. First my son got sick on the second day and spent the whole day in the room. The food in the buffet is very blend. I mean I hate to talk bad about food because we are not very picky but the food was very disappointing. To the point that my older son as soon as we dock in Miami told me I can't wait to get out of here and eat. The Mexican night food was horrible. The only night I can say was ok was when they grilled salmon on the deck and had paella. To make things worse the restaurant was awful too, and that's me trying to be polite. My husband who loves to eat would ask for 2 plates just to see if one of them would be eatable. That was pretty good. Now for the entertainment... Oh boy, I bragged so much about to my mother that was a first time cruiser about how cruise ships will keep us entertained the whole time but this ship left a lot to be desired. Tyler the cruise director was very funny, but pretty much it. The shows never started before 8 pm, there was not much to do, karaoke was so weak, no songs, no good comedy shows, no magic shows, kids club was very blend, the kids lost interest in the clubs and wanted to join us all the time, thank God I brought some board games with me . Unlike our last carnival ship that they entertained the kids all the time. the hot tubs were always full and the pool was empty since the weather didn't cooperate. The white party was very boring and we were actually bored the whole time, The weather in the Bahamas in February can be a bit cold, and I shouldn't complain because we live in Boston but i feel that if I'm spending all this money in a vacation I should get good weather, the sea was very rough and my mother was very scared, and I felt so bad because I used to tell her that the ship never rocked, the last day was soooo bad. The only one from our group of 9 that seemed to enjoy this trip was my step dad who was a first time cruiser And always had a beer in his hand and said that he was glad he was not working. The only thing I really enjoyed was a excursion with a guy named Amos who showed us the real Nassau and all the important parts, he was very enthusiastic about his island and he was funny and very entertaining. their private island was very cold and rainy and Freeport was also cold. So my agent said that usually short cruises are like that and I didn't agree with her, I've been to budget ships and not so budget ships and this one was my least favorite, so no February vacation for us anymore and I would not cruise Norwegian sky again. I cruised on the MSC Divina for the first time for the Def Leppard cruise. From the beginning, the employees were rude, unhelpful and uninformed. Check in was excessively long and they don't even let you provide your credit card for onboard charges. They send you off on your own to figure this out, which wastes time when trying to start your vacation. The first mistake by MSC was to allow the promoter to book only half the ship for Def Leppard cruisers. Imagine a bunch of rock n roll fans who expect a rock n roll experience, but they are instead mixed in with families and regular cruisers. The result was the Def Leppard cruisers, who paid a lot more for this cruise than the regular cruisers, were treated like second class citizens. The employees had no information about our specific activities, didn't care to find out and did not want to help when weather interfered with plans to have our bands play on the pool deck. One day it rained and the bands scheduled to play on the pool deck couldn't play there. MSC had no contingency plan and it took them half the day to figure out how to provide the entertainment the Def Leppard cruisers paid for and were expecting. Any other cruise line would've planned for such adversity and implemented Plan B within minutes. Once they actually had a Plan B, it wasn't communicated to DL cruisers until the last minute because the regular cruisers were more important than those of us who paid more for a special experience. Our bands were also denied places to perform because MSC had other events scheduled in those spaces (one guy playing an acoustic guitar.) They should've reevaluated and planned better. The food was very mediocre in the buffet and the restaurants. At dinner time, more than half the buffet stations were closed and the buffet was packed. Though we had late night entertainment scheduled, the buffet served only ballpark food. The main dining room left a lot to be desired. The service was fine but the food was bland. The servers didn't understand what we were ordering for a drink and brought the wrong kind of wine. They then had us point to what we wanted on the menu. I've traveled all over the world and appreciate other languages and work well with language barriers but this was ridiculous for a cruise leaving from the U.S. carrying mostly English speaking passengers. Poor planning by MSC. Bartenders at bars were also slow. I have never seen a more unorganized vacation operator. If they want to be in the business of providing unique, tailored cruises, they need to overhaul their operations and customer service. The MSC communication team should be ashamed of itself. I have cruised with Holland America, Norweigan, Costa and now MSC. NEVER AGAIN. Embarkation was ridiculously long with zero help even though I purchased a package that included PRIORITY boarding. Texted and emailed the "help line." NO help. Safety drill was INSIDE the photography studio with too many of us (wearing life vests) crammed into a tiny space. No SAFETY explanation. Okay, so now we are at sea. Bars are jammed, table service non-existent. It was a DEF LEPPARD Cruise. Families and elderly were NOT told that at least half the ship were 80's rock fans. There was a naked guy in the pool and in the elevator with little kids holding their parent's hand! NO STAFF to scold him. Events were cancelled due to horrendous weather. First port we were told to stay on the ship as the ship wanted to leave ASAP but we stayed there ALL DAY in a CAT 1 hurricane. Second port we didn't even try. Stayed at sea going around and around. Why not go to Miami? At least it's a great port and not involved in a CAT 1?? Food is horrible! Everyone lives on PIZZA. Staff needs a ton of training. They seem to hate everyone on board. Blow dryer is nailed into a drawer, room not made up properly, ship is old and the MIRRORS will drive you crazy. This is one of those ships with zig zag hallways instead of straight ones so you don't know where you are until the cruise is over. My Balcony room 12219 was the SMALLEST BALCONY cabin I have ever had. No sofa, a mini desk and a Queen (I paid for a King) bed. That's it. Balcony just large enough to squeeze two chairs. Getting off the ship was HORRIBLE too. We were told we had an open tab even though we registered a credit card with Guest Services. After waiting in the Atrium for over an hour to disembark, we finally got to the ramp to get off only to be sent to GUEST SERVICES to pay our bill, which was SERVICE CHARGES ONLY. I will start off saying that I have cruised on NCL, Royal Caribbean, Carnival and Celebrity and NEVER have I experienced anything remotely close to the HELL I experienced on the MSC Divina! I boarded the MSC Divina in Miami as part of the Def Leppard cruise. I was excited to be going on this ship as my sister has sailed on it several times and raved about it. While it was an amazingly beautiful boat, the only pros on this ship were the size of our room and our wonderful room steward. Embarking on the ship was fine. When I did my on-line check-in, the computer crashed, so when I checked in on the boat I told the agent that I needed to confirm the credit card used for my onboard account and verify that I was not charged for two alcohol packages (MSC's site crashed while I was doing my on-line check-in). I was told I had to go to customer relations onboard. I thought that was a little odd because any other cruiseline I have sailed on handled these issues at check-in. No big deal. I go stand in line at customer relations and a very rude agent advised me that my credit card was not charged for onboard credit and I had to use the kiosk to load money onto my onboard account. That was their standard practice. I have never had to do that before and it was a little bit of an inconvenience, but so be it. I also asked the agent about my drink packages and she advised me that I had to go to the casino to pick up my drink tickets. Another line to stand in was inconvenient when others were purchasing their drink packages right at the customer relations area, but again, not a big issue. Muster drill was a bit of a hassle because unlike the other cruiselines, you have to actually bring your life jacket with you and then return it to your room. This was an inconvenience because we then had to run to sailaway so as not to miss the sailaway party featuring some of the bands we were there to see. These little inconveniences were nothing compared to what we were to face for the next 4 days! Food - absolutely DISGUSTING. Black Crab Dining Room - We tried the dining room twice and there were very little items to choose from and what we did have, was horrible. Service was extremely slow as well. Buffet - Nothing but a fast food area with a little bit of pasta. The buffet was mainly pizza, burgers, hot dogs, tuna and chicken sandwiches. There was one station offering various pastas, but they were mediocre at best. There was an "ethnic" station which was horrible, a salad bar, some fruit and a few desserts. I have NEVER gone hungry on a cruiseship before, but all that was edible on this boat was pizza. After four days of solely eating pizza, I never want to see pizza again! Being so disgusted with the dining room and the buffet, we attempted a pay restaurant. That was no better. As we sat down in the Italian restaurant, the gentlemen behind us was complaining to the waitress that his pasta was undercooked and his steak was overcooked. I can't confirm this because I jumped up and ran out at that point! I didn't need to spend money on the same horrible food I was being served elsewhere! When I returned home and asked my sister about the food she had when she was on the MSC Divina (as a regular cruiser, not part of a charter), she was telling me about wonderful lobster tails and shrimp. I couldn't believe it. I can't confirm this, but I wonder if MSC may have downgraded our food because we were part of a charter? Drinks - Epic fail! First of all, to get a drink anywhere took extremely long. But worse than that, I ordered a drink package. On board, I was told that my drink tickets included mixed drinks such as pina coladas, drinks of the day, wine, beer, etc., but never in my life was I ever charged for MIXERS! Yes, Mixers! I.e., I ordered vodka & cranberry and the vodka was included but not the cranberry! My friend was drinking vodka & soda water and they wanted to charge for that as well! Organization - Note that this was a Def Leppard cruise and that there were a lot of people that booked this cruise not knowing that. I understand the concern and believe those individuals should have been advised of the Def Leppard patrons. I did not experience a problem with this, however, I heard there were many angry patrons who were NOT there as part of the Def Leppard cruise and were not happy. Note that I had sailed on a prior cruise on Royal Caribbean and when I boarded, I did not know it was a Harley Davidson cruise, so this is probably the norm on the cruiseships. (I did have an awesome time though). However, where MSC fails is that due to horrid weather (we were unable to disembark at one port), the bands were not able to play outside (a part of which we paid for as members of the Def Leppard cruise). Rather than MSC accommodating our group, we were sandwiched into a small lounge and were completely agitated and miserable. I think MSC should have moved some of their other shows around to accommodate our group. Misleading Salespeople at the Photo Area - We had taken several photos which we purchased. I met someone who had purchased a few photos and when he got to his room, he realized he picked the wrong photo. He told me that the people at the desk would NOT allow him to exchange it. On top of that, we ordered what we were told was the "Def Leppard" dvd. There was a dvd of some karaoke and ship event highlights playing at the photo area and when I asked the salesperson is that the "normal ship dvd", she said yes and told me the Def Leppard version was a different one which included some clips of the bands, etc. that were EXCLUSIVELY part of the Def Leppard charter. I was told we could not pick up the dvd until after 9:00 pm. Since there were concerts going on, we were unable to pick up the dvd that evening. We were surprised because we were not told that the photo area would close before the shows ended. We had to race down and pick up our dvd before we disembarked the boat and when I got home and watched it.....it was the ship highlights and NOT an exclusive Def Leppard charter video! Disembarkation - From hell! We were assigned a disembarkation time of 10:00 a.m, but had to depart our room at 7:00 a.m. If you did self-assist, you could disembark at 6:45. We chose to disembark. After spending TWO HOURS on line, we were finally able to get off the ship from hell! It was the first time I heard people, including myself, actually CHEERING when we put our sign and sail cards in the machine to disembark. NEVER AGAIN with MSC!!!!! Read Less

If I could give zero stars I would. Do not under any circumstances book a cruise with this cruise line. We were on a special cruise for Def Leppard. I was told by several people who booked the cruise that they were NOT informed that it was a Def Leppard cruise. So we had about thousands people on board who had no idea they would be on a Rock n Roll Cruise. This understandably pissed them off. Extremely understaffed which led to unhappy and unhelpful staff members. Several times we tried to get drinks at the bar and the bartenders ignored us. The food was just like fast food. The pizza was was just okay, a couple of times it was cold when it hit my plate. Not many options on the salad bar, I can get a better salad at Ruby Tuesday. If you happened to get fresh pasta, it was good but not great. The fresh made omelets in the morning were good, but small portions and at least twice the eggs were under cooked. The buffet lines were set up backwards. For example, the salad bar was laid out with the salad toppings and dressings at what you would think would be the beginning of the line. This lead to mass confusion when trying to get food. Several times we got our food and by the time we found a place to sit the food was cold. There were tables not being cleaned off efficiently. I do not blame the staff for this, I blame management for thinking cutting costs on staff would be acceptable. The one night we went to the actually dining room, our waiter got several plates of food wrong. A gentleman sitting with us had to ask for his drink 4 times before it was brought to him just in time for dessert. Our second port of call was cancelled due to weather and there was no back up plan. We were left with an extra day at sea, it was too cold to be outside so we spend time wondering around the ship only to discover because of their staffing issues only two bars were open on the whole ship. So You had 3,000 people with no where to go and they couldn't even drown their sorrows in alcohol because you couldn't make it to the bar. They nickle and dime you to death. I understand that cruise ships have alcohol and coke packages and maybe a specialty restaurant or two that are at an extra cost. But everything except the buffet and the dining room was an extra cost on this ship. I heard several people complaining that they order water (WATER!) with their alcoholic beverage and were charged extra. There was also a 15% service charge on anything you ordered, which I understand the waiters need tips but when you automatically give tips the level of service goes down. Overall, very unhappy with the way the cruise ship was being managed. The only positive thing I have to say about the whole ship was that there was always hot water in the showers. I would not go on another cruise with this cruise line even if I was being paid to do so. Spend a little more money to save your insanity. Read Less

The good stuff first! Embarkation- easy. fast, fun boarding the ship. Cruise staff singing and dancing while boarding. The room was okay. No storage which I was surprised. Just closets. Room steward was great, pretty much the only person that greeted us and smiled. The Cruise Director Tyler was awesome, kudos whoever hired him. Fun, Fun, Fun, The room was loud until about midnight then if was fine. The description online regarding the ship was false, there are no slides, trampoline etc. two small pools and 4 small hot tubs. The food was disgusting, there were 17 of us and many other people complained about the food. I am not picky and very easy going, the food was the worst and very disappointing. I will not try this ship again. The best part, the alcohol was included, however, if you booked in 2015 you had to upgrade your cabin to get a free alcohol package. I didn't but the rest of the family did. Customers were mad because they didn't get any money back for upgrading. Read Less

This was our first trip to the Bahamas. Although we were greeted in a friendly manner upon arrival, most of the staff was not courteous or helpful on the cruise. They made you feel like you had no business asking us such a stupid question. The activities on the cruise were boring and too short...felt like Sesame Street. The food was average to terrible. Their fruit was mostly frozen, no fresh (berries). Every buffet felt like the same food each day. The dining room food was average and very, very small portions. The BBQ on the deck the first two nights were awesome. The pizza near there was like crackers with pizza toppings on it. My husband ordered fish one night. It may have been a 3 oz piece with 3 small pieces of potato. One day for breakfast we ordered hash browns. They were 2 round pieces about the size of a 50 cent piece and didn't even taste like potato. The servers in the dining rooms were great. I think because we got free drinks that they skimped on the food. Reminded me of Circus Circus buffet in Vegas. Public restrooms...yuk. Not one had paper for toilet seats or paper towels behind the door to hold the handle as you leave. No sanitizers by bathroom door. The bathroom by the casino is the biggest joke. The front of the toilet is so close to the door that you had to sit sideways to use it. Paper was all over the floor and the floor was wet and dirty. Casino was nice. Lots of machines to choose from. Don't win much, but was fun. If I was offered the cruise free of charge I wouldn't go back! Read Less

I went on the Norwegian Sky Dec. 28, 2015. When I booked the cruise I clearly asked if the price I received on he phone was the bottom line. I was told yes. I arrived ad found out I would be charged $13.50 per person per day tip. I wasn't prepared for this cost. I would have never booked the trip if I had know this as I only make $15 per hour. My wife, daughter and I only had enough money for one excursion and we knew this going in (they really wanted to go) but we couldn't afford to go. When we realized we couldn't go, my wife and I wanted to buy a celebratory drink; couldn't afford that either ($7.50 for one beer plus mandatory, preset tip). We only saw the maid one time; the one time was to report that the fold out bed was broke. It fell apart when opening it. He offered to come by every time we were going to bed to open it. I saw how he did it and chose to struggle through opening it myself because we weren't sure when we would go to bed. Just think, I had a mandatorily tip someone I saw only once and who couldn't bring me a new bed. The food in the restaurant was just "OK". There wasn't enough (BTW we are small folk who don't eat much) The dessert was terrible!! I take the blame for this because we should have stayed in our lane (i.e. we are poor and tried to have fun) If I get enough to go on another cruise, it won't be Norwegian. I wish they would have given us a bottom line price prior to confirming the trip. Never again, this was a disaster from the word go. My wife and I had a balcony suite and could not sit outside at all because the stench of diesel fumes permeated the balcony the entire trip. The champagne flutes in our room had hairline cracks in them, we asked the women assigned to us for replacements, never got them. The port in the Bahamas blasted obnoxious music the entire first evening until 4 am. So no sleep, then when the music stopped the deck above made noise due to furniture being moved. Whose idea was it to put that above the most expensive rooms on the boat? The tub did not drain properly so we stood in a pool of filth while showering. No place to plug in anything in the bathroom. The toilet did not flush anymore at the end of the trip. Very few crew members had a good understanding of English, hard to communicate with them. During dinner the first evening, a woman confronted us at our table and had the same information on her card as we did; she made a phone call and then left. A few minutes later the head waiter asked us if we would mind moving to a smaller table, our food had been served already. I refused. The following evening after our appetizers were served and ordering our meal, the hostess escorted another couple to our table and informed us "you'll be having dinner guests this evening" the waiter then took their order and then waited for all 4 meals to be ready before serving. That added 20 more minute to our wait, making us late for the comedian's show we had planned to see. Now I'm not a prude and don't mind sharing a table with someone but there is a time and place. The time was the 1970's, the place was public school. Read Less

I was not happy to find out that a onboard promotion credit remained unused and was not applied to my Nassau excursion because I paid for it in advance. Had I known that, I would not have prepaid any excursions. NCL solved the problem but the whole situation was unusual: it's like penalizing customers who prepay excursions before sail date. Besides, NCL could not get simple things right such as placing Offshore Excursions Tickets on my cabin on the first day. Customer service was found lacking: disorganized line, people cutting in, NCL rep who acted in disbelief and grudgingly offered reprints (it felt that they lacked a protocol to deal with such situations). Then, again, on the night before disembarkation, NCL failed to place the final onboard account statement on my cabin even though charges were simple and I did provide a credit card. I was hardly impressed by the food. At best, it was inconsistent. And the pizza... how hard can it be to make a decent pizza? Finally, due to weather, NCL did not stop at Great Stirrup Cay. What good is a private island if you can't get to it? (or, as stated by a fellow passenger, "that's how private it is.. not even the owner can get to it!"). Ok, weather can foul things up. But what about a better "Plan B". You have a ship. You can move it to a nearby destination. Considering that this comes up often in reviews, shouldn't NCL offer an "equivalent" destination to GSC if the weather goes bad instead of spending a day at sea? Since a day at sea is far from equivalent to a day at GSC, passengers can feel short changed. Read Less

I don't even know where to begin. First let me start by saying, typically we only cruise on royal caribbean (one of the most amazing cruise lines) but we decided to give carnival a shot. I can say 100% they blew there shot 110%. Very outdated. Disgustingly horrific customer service. Every staff member on board was rude and and absolutely no knowledge of anything we asked and barely spoke good english. There was food in the hallways from room service and it took them at least 1 day and a half to remove it. We had bugs, mold & mildew in our shower. I myself can understand a mistake or 2 but once we discovered dirty/used gloves on our bed from the state room attendant cleaning toilets showers and anything else that was the end of our belief in ever cruising with carnival again. Then the next day we discovered the state room attendant broke my wife $300.00 sunglasses. Their excuses was "we provide safes in each room, you guys should have used it". So i guess we aren't allowed to set our personal belongings down anywhere safely on carnival cruise lines. The on our last night we discovered what looked to be either old dried up blood or poop on our sheets. So basically the bottom line is, if your looking for cruises to attend, trust me when i tell you to stay far far away from carnival. If you have never cruised before you may not know the difference between good and bad cruise line service. So you need to take other peoples word for it in order to avoid making the mistake. It may seem like they have better prices than other cruise lines but with carnival your going to get much less than you bargain for. Look into royal caribbean cruise and you will be much happier with the results of your vacation. Carnival has absolutely not one single benefit on royal caribbean. Even a man had a heart attack and past away while cruising and it took medical response a very long time to show up. I know because my mother was the one performing cpr on the guy before they showed up. Read Less

This was my second cruise with Norwegian and I had somewhat high expectations which quickly were not meet. We arrived early to enjoy the most of the day Friday on the boat and we boarded around noon and spent 1.5 hours exploring the boat until an announcement was made for everyone to line up on Deck 6 outside. We go outside (still with our bags as we had been on our way to our rooms) where we see numerous police officers, custom officials and crew running around. There was utmost confusion and nobody (passengers and crew) seemed to have any idea of what was going on. They forced us to disembark off of the boat and we were ushered into a large warehouse (baggage claim terminal area) with no communication. We had no idea what was going on. Rumors begin to fly as the warehouse began to fill with people. There were rumors that there had been a shooting on the pier and that the gunmen had raced onto the boat. There were no cruise officials in the warehouse, only port security guards at all the doors who refused anyone to exit. The line for the 1 stall restroom was an hour long as there were nearly 1000 people in that warehouse. They slowly brought in some water and walked around cookies. After a few hours, they brought out chairs but there were not enough for everyone so I went back to sitting on the floor. Eventually towels were brought out. NO ANNOUCEMENTS WERE MADE AT ALL. the frustration of not knowing what the hell was happening was extreme. There was terrible cell phone reception in the building and my phone died. Nobody would share the precious few wall outlets and I could not get further information about what was going on. After about 3 hours of hell, I see 3 police officers run through the throngs of people will huge machine guns. IT was horrifying. I had no what was going on. After 7 HOURS, we were finally let back in. The whole cruise was ruined. Numerous people refused to get back on the boat after such an extreme security failure. So what caused this panic? The only announcement we heard was that there was an authorized guest onboard. I learned more reading the news and other announcements from NCL's Twitter and Facebook pages. This "guest" didn't swipe his card properly and then ran onto the boat? There is a LONG way between the security and getting onto the boat. SOMEONE COULD HAVE EASILY TACKLED THIS PERSON. The review below me said that the guy was in the terminal with us. How did they miss him? Honestly I felt so unsafe, I never want to cruise again. Long story short, if you want to sit in a cold warehouse with 1000 people, then take NCL Sky. Read Less

My husband and I attended a friend’s wedding aboard the Norwegian Sky departing from Miami on 12/4/15 to the Bahamas. Thankfully this was only a 3-night cruise, because it was one of the worst trips of my life. If the next great flood was upon us and Norwegian Cruise Lines built the only ark available, I’d take my chances swimming. The cruise started well enough. We boarded early for the wedding ceremony, which was beautiful and went smoothly. Next we were led to one of the restaurants. As soon as our appetizers were set on the tables, the captain made an announcement over the loudspeaker than everyone would have to gather on the 6th floor deck for security reasons. After standing on the overcrowded deck for nearly two hours in the rain, we were told that everyone on the ship would have to be evacuated. I’d estimate there were nearly 1000 people on board. The evacuation was orderly and didn’t take long, but we were led like cattle into a concrete box of a room without chairs or windows. There were two bathroom stalls available. The doors were all locked behind us and we were offered no explanation of why we were being held nor were we given the option of leaving. This was at around 1pm. It was after 8pm by the time they released us from captivity. In those 7 hours, we were given a few “updates” stating that we would be released “soon,” but there was no official word about why we were being held or how long we would be forced to stay in the concrete box. We could see out of the locked doors that there were police with dogs, firemen, Coast Guard reps, etc, but no one offered any information. Eventually some chairs were delivered, but most people were forced to sit on the floor. Some “sandwiches” (literally one piece of ham or turkey between pieces of bread), rotten apples, cake, and water were also intermittently delivered. In our 6th hour of captivity, we were given towels (to be used as blankets perhaps?) Eventually diapers and milk were also delivered for the dozens of toddlers and children locked in the room. The line for the bathroom was 2+ hours long. Several people asked about medication they needed that was on board, but they were refused any assistance. People were smoking inside our concrete dungeon, and with no ventilation or windows we were all forced to sit in a cloud of noxious smoke. At least one man fainted. Eventually we were released and allowed back on the boat. When we finally got to our room, we had to wait another 45 minutes for our bags, which barely arrived before we were forced back on deck in the cold for our safety briefing. Then at 11pm, we were allowed to eat at an actual table with chairs! But Norwegian was determined to make up the 6-hour delay and get us to Nassau on time, so they immediately put the engines on full blast and the boat was practically shaking with effort. No one could eat comfortably because the boat was not steady; people were getting sick. As for the service on the ship, you would think they’d be going above and beyond to make everyone happy, but that was not the case. Almost everyone in our party had the unlimited drinks package. Since our friend’s wedding reception was interrupted, we asked for a bottle of champagne to toast. Our first three requests were blatantly ignored, the next two were acknowledged but ultimately ignored, and then finally, when I got up to approach the maitre’d, we were given a bottle of fizzy swill that they call champagne. Twice I ordered a glass of wine from the menu and as given house wine with no explanation. The bartenders were very slow and one (in one of the outdoor bars near the breakfast buffet) was downright hostile and argumentative. We tried to make the best of it. We were there to celebrate, right? Honestly, we had a good time with our friends but it had nothing to do with the boat or the staff. The ship itself is ugly and dated; the pool is a glorified bathtub. I will say that the cleaning staff is excellent and didn’t cut any corners in the rooms. When we returned from our trip, I gave it a few weeks to see if I’d hear from Norwegian. When I didn’t, I emailed my Cruise Consultant on Dec 28 to ask about who I could speak with about compensation. I received an out of office reply stating she’d be back Jan 4. On Jan 5 I resent my email, and to date I have not heard back. I have a feeling I’m being ignored. Read Less

Almost made it onto the ship when we were turned around because someone somehow got onboard the ship. The ship was evacuated and we spent about 9 hours sitting around with no information about what was going on. Then when we finally boarded at 1030pm. The lines for food at the only open restaurant were extremely long and people were cutting the lines. When we finally got to the front we were told it was closed due to the lifeboat drill. Needless to say there was no food that night. During the day we were given water, pound cake, and cookies. The first day of the cruise was a disaster. I understand the need for safety but the lack of communication and lack of options given was unacceptable. Then to top it off the last day we were not able to go ashore to the Stirrup Cay. I again understand the weather was beyond your control but the onboard options given (including a best male legs) was lacking. We later found out that the cruise line had given free drinks and dinners the first night and a $50 onboard credit but not one person out of our 4 person group even heard about it. One day out of the trip was great (Nassau) but it could have been a much better trip with simple communication. Two of the people in our group did not want to board the ship out of fear but no one would tell us what our options were. We were only told to call the cruise office, which was closed. Read Less

This was our first cruise with Norweigian and we were skeptical but they had a kids sail free promotion so we figured we would give it a try. My husband actually went on the same cruise last month with some guys from work and he said the service and the ships upkeep was terrible but he would give them a second try since the family one was already booked and past the refund period. We arrived to the port and check in was smooth.....that was it!!!!! 1 hour after arriving there was a security breach where a man got past security when the sea pass card beeped. He ran INTO the ship and could not be found. The entire ship was evacuated into the luggage warehouse where we sat on the floor for 7 hours only to come find out the man was in the warehouse WITH US!!! He was eventually caught and we got to go back on the ship around 830pm. We had the drill about 10pm and we had an announcement that the restaurants were complimentary. We had 4 children with us and they did great but we were not just about to eat at a specialty restaurant. Passengers were told by the guest services desk to call Monday to discuss compensation and we were given a number. When you call this number you get placed on hold for at least 30 minutes to get a rude associate to say Norweigian is doing nothing for compensation and if you don't like it, write a letter. In today's world security should be top notch. You want to feel secure. The adults needed to be brave for the children and we were all scared. I tried to forget about the incident and enjoy our celebration cruise with my family but there is no kids pool. The pool is 6 feet deep. We went to the back of the ship and there was a little waterfall but no shade. We took the kids to the play area and they were only open for 2 hour increments and closed for several hours at a time with no activities or swimming for the kids. We took them to the 6 foot pool where there was the pool games going on and it was a college frat party with twerking and thongs. My 5 year old covered her own eyes. I would give them a zero if I could. Poor service all around. Filthy bathrooms and our bathroom door in our room came off the hinges and no one came when I called twice. Read Less

Let me start by saying- i was a firm ncl cruiser...family wanted to take a short cruise for a family reunion (first ever) most had never been on a cruise - i talked them into this short ncl/sky cruise stating - we can't go wrong...boy was i wrong! The processes of getting on the ship was seamless (yay) that's been the best part of the trip. very old ship with lots of room for improvement....however, that was not an issue, as long as, they can keep it clean (hence, that was the issue!) room had dirty sheets- we had to call the supervisor. Not one dinner/breakfast or lunchcame hot or even warm to the table! I was in contact with group reservations for our dinner because there was 21 of us- right up to sailing date (with emails to prove our conversation and they still didn't even have the seating or time correct...even after they said they corrected it with me in front of them every day it was wrong (smh). They tried to give us candy and $1.99 bottle of wine- really? Our drinks were included in the cost of the cruise! The staff was a training staff for sure and if not- they should be ashamed! If you are going to use your ship for training- i think a deep discount needs to apply and the guest need to be made aware- let them choose before taking their only vacation on someone else training class! The cruise director is beyond anything i've ever experience and hope to never experience again. Again- some things on cruise are not for the young or easily offended.....but, he takes that to another level of not even sanitary - men and women taking off their panties/bra and underwear- where we sit - to eat and drink daily. The say everyone needs to get sprayed and i 100% agree with that- however, you do the most non-sanitized thing in common areas? This staff/suprv and management team needs the health department to step in (call has been made) and their heads examined! The shows were that of a high school well- jr high play- just terrible- !!!!!! The only saving grace to that was a comedian-- who announced this was his last show with ncl- lucky for him!!!! For health reason do not take this cruise!!! Read Less

Before I start off this review, let me state I have been on cruises before (Disney and Celebrity) and will cruise again. But I will never cruise with Norwegian. It was the absolute worst experience and vacation ever. To start, when my friend and I got to our stateroom after getting settled we found dirty underwear and towels under our beds. And after letting the person who took care of our stateroom know, he just grabbed everything apologized and left and nothing else was said. It was absolutely disgusting. Moving on the staff was so rude and seemed annoyed anytime we needed anything or asked a question. The food was nothing impressive. The activites were boring. And I will say this is not a cruise for people ages 20 - 35 and that is our fault for not researching. The weather was terrible as well and we ended up not going to the third destination because of it. Now those things are not the cruise lines fault but with that said dealing with everything else it just was not good. With the staff and the dirty room and such it all accumulated to be the worst vacation ever. The best thing this ship has going for it is the cruise director Tyler. All in all I just feel like I wasted money and time and a missed Thanksgiving. It was not worth it and I will never give them my money again. Read Less

I read lots of reviews prior to cruising on the Majesty of the Seas. I rolled my eyes at the bad ones as I have always enjoyed my cruises that people complained about. I thought bad reviews always had to do with bad attitudes and unreasonably high expectations. This was NOT the case with this ship. It really was that bad! Our inside stateroom was very tiny and the boat was a little rundown. These are things that I was expecting based on the age of the ship and the relatively cheap cost of the cruise. I didn't factor these things into my rating. It was a bit annoying that things in the room didn't work right (sometimes my husband's room key didn't work, and the room safe would often decide to not open). The food was terrible! Based on my past experiences, I didn't think that major cruise lines had bad food. I thought that people who complained about cruise food were overly picky. I now see that the food can be AWFUL! The Windjammer had the same terrible, cafeteria-quality food every day. I ate Froot Loops for breakfast and pizza for lunch most days (two things I would never have believed I would eat on a cruise!). The dining room was a little bit better, but still sub-par. I have a real sweet tooth, and I didn't really like any of the desserts, either. There is an additional charge for lobster and steak in the main dining room. There was no corkage fee for wine, though, which was nice. Our servers at dinner and the stateroom steward were fine. They were friendly and helpful. I found it tacky that an envelope was left in our stateroom asking for additional gratuities (on top of the approximately $13 per person per day). We didn't ask for anything above and beyond the call of duty, so I didn't feel obligated to tip on top of the tip. We didn't participate in the entertainment much. We went to the Love & Marriage show, which could have been really funny if the host had been better. We went to the juggler the first night but left early to see the Miami skyline at night (we didn't end up sailing away until nighttime, which was an approximately 3 hour delay). Our tablemates at dinner said the comedian was not funny. I don't know if the singing and dancing shows were good or not. The only excursion we participated in was the Blue Lagoon Dolphin Encounter. It was nice, and probably a once in a lifetime experience for me. Surprisingly, they let you take your own pictures, but we didn't have a waterproof camera so we bought a reasonably priced $16 5x7 photo of the dolphin kissing us. My only complaint for the excursion is that it was supposed to be a 4 hour tour (half hour boat ride, half hour with the dolphin, time on the beach, and then the half hour boat ride back). They picked us up 15 minutes late, stopped to pick additional people up making the ride there closer to 45 minutes, and then returned us to the ship an hour early. We were in group 2 to play with the dolphins, so we got no beach time whatsoever. I felt like the ship was dirtier than any other I've seen. Other cruise lines will hand out wet wipes as people walk into a dining area (especially a buffet!). RC just had unattended Purell stations at SOME entrances, and they were often out of the gel. There were flies buzzing around the food in the Windjammer. The dining room server went around to everyone's plates the night we had tiger shrimp and took the shrimp out of the shell for us...using the same fork for everybody! Everything just seemed so germy and so unlike the other cruise lines that are so careful about infection control. You couldn't believe things you read in the Cruise Compass and online. For example, a lady in line ahead of me at the customer service desk asked them to print her flight boarding pass, as she had read that this was a complimentary service that they would do. She was told that "was a lie." Another woman in line said she had also read this was an offered service, but they were told they would need to purchase the internet package to do so. This is just one example of "lies." I feel like we spent the majority of our vacation in line on the ship. There were long, disorganized lines to get off the ship and to go through customs once we reached Key West. We also spent way too much time in line at the customer service desk. This was the absolute worst part of the cruise. We had been given an e-gift card for my husband's birthday in August which had to be redeemed at least 14 days before our sail date in November. As soon as I got the email, I went to the website to redeem it as Onboard Credit. Once I completed the process, I was brought to a screen that said it was complete but that I had to wait until I boarded to see it show up as credit. It bothered me to not have better confirmation than that, but I hoped that their system was reliable enough that it wouldn't be an issue. When we got on board to check things out, it was not only not there, but customer service was HORRIBLY rude to us. The manager told us that there are no RC gift cards...they don't exist. I had to wait until I had cell service in Key West to show her the email. She told us to call corporate headquarters to resolve it. We did, and they told us that it was inappropriate that we were told to call them as there is customer service on board. We had to wait in line 7 times to see the manager to get things fixed, and now, 3 days after debarkation, it still has not been resolved. I guess I shouldn't take their attitudes personally as I witnessed them making fun of other guests. If I had to come up with a positive, I would say that embarkation and debarkation were a breeze (once we stood in an incredibly long line to get off the ship). Also, the rock climbing wall was fun (though small), but it wasn't open very much. Like our tablemates said, we understand that this is probably RC's worst ship, but the biggest problems were the service, food, and cleanliness...things that should NOT be affected by the age of the ship. I've sailed Disney, Norwegian, Celebrity, and Carnival, and they were all FABULOUS. I will not take a gamble on another RC cruise; in fact, I need a break from cruising altogether for a while. First off our cruise had a matienence issue before we ever left. The first day we weren't even allowed to show up to the port till 6pm. We had gotten airline tickets to come to Miami early so that we could spend the day on the ship. So now we had to wonder around Miami for 8 hours trying to find things to do. Not a big deal except the extra expenses in activities/cabs/food. The check-in process was really bad. We were shoved into a line and not told anything while we waited outside then inside then in a hallway for 4 hours. The customer service that Royal Caribbean provides is subpar at best. They cannot answer simple questions and provide no help when you have an issue. They treat you basically like you made it happen and its your fault and they don't care. The ship is old and in disrepair and instead of taking the ship out of service for a few days they just keep sailing and try to fix the problems around the customers. The stairways were wet with pain and varnish. The hot tubs were closed the entire time and chairs in the dinning halls and theater were broken. The staff onboard the boat complained to us how they had to work long hours. About 4 employees complained to me about this. I will avoid this cruise line forever. They ruined cruises for me. Then less than 24 hour notice we received this e-mail: Original message------ From: Royal Caribbean International Exp... Date: Thu, 11/5/2015 4:45 PM To: Subject:Important Notice - Majesty of the Seas, Nov 6, 2015 Please click here to acknowledge receipt of this message This is an important message regarding your upcoming cruise. Hello, this is Royal Caribbean International. We would like to provide you with important information regarding your sailing on Friday, November 6, onboard Majesty of the Seas. The ship needs to conduct important maintenance on its water system tomorrow that will delay your boarding. Boarding for your cruise will take place between 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Because the cruise terminal at the Port of Miami is very limited in space, we ask that you NOT arrive at the port for boarding before 6:00 p.m. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation and we look forward to welcoming you onboard. So we had booked an off site location for parking which closes at 3:00. Called and no cancellation less than 48 hours notice, and we have to be there before 3:00 for parking and shuttle. We go to terminal to try and find out more information, none given but we are allowed to check in, but can not stay and they were shuttling everyone over in buses to bayside a place across the bridge by the port. So we have a couple of drinks. It is raining and hot and muggy. Record temperatures being set in the 90's..it is Nov. The lines to wait to get on buses are long, and it is still raining. We opted to pay $10.00 for a taxi back to port. There we find huge long lines, babies and children crying. They are tired and hungry. Some have been traveling all day by plane etc. There is no one answering any questions. CDC boarded the boat about water quality was one thing we had heard. No water, no anything standing outside in lines for about 2 hours. Hot and humid after off and on rain showers. At 7:18 they announce they are beginning boarding..that was not a complete lie..they did board about 20 people that must of been VIP's. At this time since we were able to check in earlier that day we are now inside a holding room outside the ship. No bathrooms, still nothing to eat or drink. Elderly people standing for hours with there walkers & canes. Children laying on filthy floors trying to rest after no naps...hungry, tired, thirsty and hot. No staff members answering any questions and not responding when asked questions per instructions. At 7:50 pm boarding begins. LOL, as we were walking to the gang plank area there is a staff member there with a plate of quartered bologna and bread sandwich to grab on your way to board ship. Not walking around to hand out in the huge long lines..standing there as you board. Luckily we weren't that far back, many still outside waiting in the heat. We are on board about 8:40 pm. at 9:30 they start the required muenster..seriously. The food on the buffet was horrible and the same food all three nights. Pizza, buffet or dining room were your only options that was included. Captain's formal dinner night was steak, no shrimp or lobster just a piece of steak. It was not horrible, but not wonderful either. I could go on and on, but for all that EACH CABIN was given a $25.00 on board credit and that was it. The guest service line remained long throughout the cruise of people complaining and they listened and said they could do nothing. When we wanted a credit for 50% of the first day drink pass that we purchased after standing in the long line for about 30 plus minutes we told to speak to the bar manager and had to do the same thing all over again. This was handled so wrong. Understand stuff happens but because of how we were treated and everyone we have spoken to so far with Royal Caribbean and the attitude and stance Royal Caribbean has taken on this we are planning our next 7 day cruise for 2016 and it will not be with Royal Caribbean. Oh and the Caption "Mistake of the Seas"..I stole that from a group of guest on this cruise that had tee shirts made up that said that at the first port of call. LOL. They had suites on the 8th floor that flooded every time they took a shower. Royal Caribbean supplied them with there very own shop vac for each room. There rooms smelled of mold and whole room floors and even the hall way on the 8th floor were soaking wet. Guess it could of been worse we could of been staying in those beautiful, smell of mold water soaked suites! Read Less

When I boarded the Norwegian Sky ship and found my room (inside 10th floor, room #0134) we passed a fan drying the smelly carpet that smelled like dirty dish water most likely from the dishwasher backing up and flooding the hallway we had to smell the entire cruise on way to our room. Do not get a room on 10th floor below the buffets! Carts will be rolling all day and night and they tend to either drop stuff making loud noises waking you up. The ship is old and I think it’s time to retire this ship, not sure how they can keep putting band aids on everything and expect to have their special cruises in 2016 on this ship. There were cracks in glass all over the public areas and just sitting by the kids pool a pipe breaks and floods out control room behind it flooding onto the deck I was sitting on and closing the kiddie pool for the day. Took them 10 mins to realize to shut the water off! I had to walk around every person who was working on the rooms who literally rushed in front of us to get what they needed off their cart causing me to squeeze between them and the cart in passing and not one of them asked me how I was or even said “hello”. On day 3 of my cruise was the worst. I was woken up at 630 am by a loud machine and then found out it was routine maintenance being done which caused me to have no plumbing in my room for most of the day. When I complained to guest services they gave me a room to use the facilities until my plumbing was completed that was 2 floors down and opposite side of the ship. Later that day when I returned from the island I went out to look at my pictures after my shower and returned ten minutes later locked out of my room. I once again went down to guest services and they gave me 2 more cards to carry since they didn’t have drink stickers to put on my new cards, these didn’t work either. I walked down to guest services once again where the lady told me they should work and finally called “security” to come look at my door and it turned out the batteries were dead. This was waiting around and walking for 45 mins that I was hoping to be eating before the diner rush, which I missed out on and sat in a crowded dining room after waiting 10 mins to be seated. The dining room service was horrible! The first breakfast morning we waited an hour to get our food that was undercooked. Then I asked for refill on my soda (I had the soda card) finished eating and was tired of waiting so as I was leaving and walking out the waiter asked if I still wanted it and I asked if it was ready and he said yes he will give me the can, well he handed me the can which was a regular Pepsi when I ordered a diet. Then Dinner that night I ordered medium rare steak and received rare, and then the last night I ordered steak again and had to ask for a steak knife to eat my steak with and had to ask for refills on my drinks after waiting again. The food choices were horrible in the dining rooms and we ate in the specialty restaurant one night since we couldn’t find anything we liked on the menu that night and ate foods that were on most normal menus on cruises I have been on in the past. Seems like they put crappy menu items on there so more people choose the specialty restaurants. The food was better tasting in the specialty dining we ate at though. The pictures I had taken one night of the cruise were the worst pictures anyone could have taken. This was the first cruise I have ever gone on where I did not purchase a single picture. After all this and spending most of my cruise at guest services and having them keep telling us “I’m Sorry” and “I know” and fake smiling to us after we walked away with no kind of resolvement, I decided I was not paying my full gratuity and would pay the ones I felt deserved theirs in cash after this horrible experience. This would be my first time out of 11 cruise experiences. Well I found out that you can only get reimbursed after turning in a form POST cruise in the form of a check mailed to your address. So.. They pretty much don’t even have to work for their gratuities anymore? Great Stirrup Cay was okay, they best thing I ate for lunch was the watermelon and the banana nut bread. I did not see one waiter walking around to sell drinks. And you will need cash for the island as it has little shops like in Nassau with the same stuff, nothing for Norwegian. A chair with shade was $30 for the day same as a huge float for the day. Looked like there was plenty to rent at the island to do though, we did not want to give Norwegian anymore of our money at this point. After this experience and getting the impression they did not care about my poor experience every time I went to guest services I will probably not cruise Norwegian ever again. Read Less

We had 3 adults stay in our cabin. The third bed was a wannabe stained sofa. opened it up and it was broken. with a ripped and black dirt on the matress pad. They said if there was an open room then they would let the third person stay in it, but then told all rooms are booked. On the third day surprise an open room. No entertainment, they announced a captain's party (all other cruises, you get to meet the captain and crew), that was just a scam to take pictures. Don't even mention the food. Mcdonald's is a 3 star upgrade. Drinks $8 dollars for a 12 oz beer. Couldn't go on the private isand (great stirrup cay) because of rough seas. (could have had an alternative port since they almost always have to cancel the island). Nothing giving in return to make up for loss on the itinerary. Never again will I waste my money with norwiegan. Been on many with carnival and it was 5 stars above this cruise. Read Less

My husband and I took this cruise for our Anniversary. I was so excited because I had been on a few cruises in the past and this was going to be my husbands first cruise. I was embarrassed that I had been telling him how great cruising is. We discovered that the food was horrible at all of the buffets and in the main dining room. The buffets are like hospital cafeterias, bland, over cooked or under cooked and disinterested staff. The main dining room food tasted like it had been reheated packaged food. The only reason that I can think that people on here have stated that they thought the food was good, is maybe they had so much to drink. We actually lost weight!! The room was not well planned out, we had a porthole room but there wasn't a dresser. Just 3 shallow drawers in the closet but we had a couch to put our luggage on and live out of, thankfully the closet had plenty of hangers. The bathroom shower was so small that I had to open the curtain to put my leg on the sink to shave my legs. Friends that we had met on the cruise had a balcony room that wasn't much bigger than ours with the same size bathroom. The carpet was stained in our room and in a lot of the public areas. Entertainment was not well thought out or executed. We were not able to go to Great Stirrup Cay because of weather, so we had a day at sea. I typically love the day at sea usually they are a lot of fun and relaxing. But the cruise director was scrambling to put something together, (wouldn't you have a plan B knowing there had been inclement weather for the last couple of weeks) it just fell kind of flat. Music on deck became too loud, rock and club type music, instead of something like beach music that you could relax to and have a conversation without yelling to be heard. Bar service and cocktail servers on deck was beyond under staffed for the amount of people on board. Super slow! Good things about the cruise: The drink package is well worth the money, and we did get our monies worth. Met a lot of great and fun people, that we will stay in touch with. The chance to actually tell your boss that you are out of phone and computer range. Casino was a lot of fun, but cocktail servers take a long time to get around to you. Room steward was great. The restaurants that you have to pay extra for and make a reservation were great. Great food, great service and clean. Loved Cagneys Steak House. Lobster!! The bottle of wine and chocolate dipped strawberries left in our room for our anniversary. We had heard several people at the customer relations desk say that they will not ever take a Norwegian Cruise again. I know for sure I will not take a Norwegian Sky cruise again. I wish that I had found this website before going on this cruise. Read Less
