Disappointed in this ship

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Sky

The crew were wonderful: happy, friendly, accommodating, helpful. The food was quite good. The ship: not so much. Norwegian Sky is a smaller ship which we prefer. It did not feel crowded. Waiting, if any, was minimal. The ship was well maintained. It was the layout and utilization which wasn't so great. And the decor was pretty bland. The casino opened out into the Atrium on Deck 7, ...

I was able to go on this cruise solo without paying double, and enjoy a vacation with my married friends. (It's not fair to have to pay more when your a widow, and want to enjoy). This was my first ever cruise, I felt special all week. The food from breakfast to dinner each day was amazing. Lunch every day at the buffet was great. The entertainment was awesome the crew was courteous, friendly and ...

We took this cruise to celebrate a birthday. Two of us had a Rockstar suite while the other two had a terrace room. The Rockstar suites were amazing, but the terrace rooms were excellent as well. As much space as a normal hotel room, so you never felt cramped or crowded. The bathrooms in the Rockstar were exceptional with a fantastic shower. The events on the cruise were so varied that it ...

I figured it would be nice to travel on a new ship, I was so wrong. There were over 5,000 people so the lines were so long to get on and off the ship and using the buffet was crazy as well. They used a different kind of elevators that you have to select your floor on the outside and it would tell you what elevator you have to use and most of the time it wouldn’t come for 2-5 minutes and once ...

Having been on over a dozen cruise lines this by far was the best. Relaxing cruise, staff, great food. All eager to help. Smaller vessel which was nice. No waiting for anything. Irresistible med ports were terrific. Just one mishap with a walking tour in Toulon. Was compensated for our troubles. Would book another virgin cruise, May be my go to ship. Highly recommend. We tip our hat to all the ...

This was our second voyage with Virgin, the first being for Sir Richard’s Birthday Bash, and we had an AWESOME EXPERIENCE except for embarkation. We purchased the Splash of Romance package so we could board early due to my physical disability. This was the only trouble point during the whole trip. I won’t go into specifics on this other to say that the terminal crew needs better training when ...

My wife and I booked this cruise to reconnect during the first year of having our first child. (It might seem crazy to many, but trust me, 5 nights away to reconnect, reenergize and refocus on what is important is a game-changer. Plus, we are back and the baby could not be doing better, so relax people!). This entire experience was out of this world. Virgin Voyages knows what they are doing. I ...

Illusion of luxury. All sales no service

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Escape

We wanted an escape and we didn’t get that. Instead we received poor service on a overcrowded ship with too many petty and rude crew members offering sub par a la carte services. Some of the highlights my husband and I observed: - only two banks of elevators on this massive ship caused for many traffic jams and delays - no signage on the ship indicating where you are on the ship. Signs ...

I choose this cruise to see the Virgin Islands & DR. First, the ship was too crowded. Very, very small pool for the number of guests, I couldn't even get in and no chairs to be found. Besides the buffet, they have 3 complimentary restaurants with the same menu in all three. Food was terrible. My steak was so tough I could not cut it. The veal parm was soggy, french onion soup is a bowl with ...

Loved the Scarlet Lady!

We chose the cruise due to the eclectic nature of Virgin cruises. We were not disappointed and had a fabulous time. A few things we didn't care for - the POOL. Way too small. I'm a swimmer and love to swim, put my head under water and refresh in the water when it's hot. By 2pm the water was warm and kind of milky - lol. Virgin needs a larger pool on their cruises. Also, I'm gluten free. ...
