I chose this cruise because I wanted something fun yet relaxing. I brought my sister and our husbands to join in this well needed vacation. It was our first time on a cruise, flying and leaving the country. The crew was outstanding. The crew helped with getting food substitution due to food preference and made sure corrections were made with meal orders. I had to tip my hat to how much they do with a smile on their face. I wanted something more adult and less kids, this was it. The on-board activities were awesome. Their was never a dull moment. I wish I had a chance to do more but time flew by so fast. If the sky ship was great, I could only imagine the other ships. The only thing I wish the ship had is more smoking sections. Deck 11 was the only place I knew that had a smoking section. It just became overcrowded at times. Overall, it was amazing! Thank you all for one of the greatest time of my life!!! Read Less

We chose this 4 day Bahamas and Perfect Day at Coco Cay cruise for a few reasons. It was our last summer blast before school starts next week, we wanted to see the new Coco Cay and we wanted the Navigator with the new additions to it. In summary this has been one of the best cruises we have been on period. The Ship: the Navigator was simply beautiful. We loved the additions to the promenade as well as the improved pool area. We spent a lot of time in both. Playmakers was a highlight for us. Great service (shout out to Ann) and I loved the fun family atmosphere. We played jenga, and enjoyed the house band set up nearby. The pools are amazing and the water slides are even better. We loved the cabanas on deck. Our 6 year old did the slides so much the staff knew her by name. Speaking of which the Adventure Camp was one of the best. The play area is huge and they have wonderful activities. Our daughter kept asking “is camp open yet”. I also received services at to dry for and Monique was great. Friendly to talk with and she did a great job. Dining: I was a little disappointed in dining but nothing was terrible. It was all just average. The Buffett was the same most days with slight twists. But so was the dining room. Food was good but not great. No wow factors for us there. Ports: we did not get off the ship in Nassau having been there numerous times before and enjoyed the pool and water slides with hardly any people. What we LOVED was the new Perfect Day in coco cay. Splash away bay was perfect. Our daughter could have spent all day there so much fun for the kids. We walked around and spent time in the beach. Again clean, fun and amazing time. The food there was the best. Great steak sandwich, amazing mango water, fresh fruit etc. Shows: we attended two of the main shows and the ice show. What can I say about the ice show except WOW. The drone opening was amazing and the performers were top notch. Overall the staff was amazing. So friendly, went out of their way to help and just loved their experience there which showed. Sometimes you find some staff who were burned out but not on this ship. Kudos to all! Read Less

I couldn't be happier w my first experience w/ Norwegian Cruise Lines. Thank you for thinking of everything - especially the ice cold face cloths when reboarding this ship from being at Nassau and Great Stirrup Cay. I will definitely be booking any and all future cruise trips with NCL. I absolutely loved the NCL crew who always got the party started and made sure to keep the party going. The food at every restaurant was delicious and the servers and staff were extremely friendly. I would recommend Norwegian Cruise Lines to all of my family and friends. This trip was a perfect getaway. My favorite part was the open bar. The bartenders were courteous and they know how to make the best tasting drinks. I was happy that they were not stingy w the liquor in the mixed drink, too! Mark my words... you will be seeing me again! Read Less

We booked this cruise to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. We had planned to go to Cuba but because travel to that country was recently and suddenly revoked, NCL sent us to the Bahamas. We are very satisfied with the compensation from NCL. It is very generous especially considering it was out of their control. The ship was very clean and well maintained. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We won our bid for a room upgrade and were given an aft-facing balcony room from a porthole room. The room was the perfect size for the 2 of us. The balcony had 2 chairs, a lounger and a table. If you are positioned closer to the sliding doors, it felt very private. If you are standing at the railing everyone above and to the sides can see you. Not a big deal for me. Our room steward, Wil, knew my name even before I met him. He had met my husband the day before and when he saw us together in the hallway the next day he said to us, "Hello Tom. And you must be Samantha. I am Wil. Nice to meet you." This was an impressive attention to personal details that I appreciated. He was always smiling every time we encountered him. We felt the vibrations from the engine, having this room, but it was not terribly disruptive. I would book another aft-facing balcony. We were close to the Garden Cafe, just 3 floors up, and would walk up and grab some snacks or a drink and bring them back to our room. We dined primarily in the dining rooms and the food was always good. Enough variety and the service was great. We also ate at Cagney's. They served one of the best ribeyes I have had anywhere and I live in cattle country. I will definitely dine there on our next trip. The sides were not memorable however. We also ate at Le Bistro. It was an intimate and quiet atmosphere for our anniversary dinner. Our server, Joshua was outstanding and he would playfully banter with the other server, both seeming to enjoy their jobs. Tip: Find the restroom before you go in. I got up during our meal and was directed outside of the restaurant. I never did find it. These were the best desserts we had all trip at Le Bistro. Bars are plentiful on this ship. We hit about 6 of them on our trip just to pick up a drink and carry-on. All had fast service except the poolside bar. This was because they were inundated all of the time. Not the fault of the bartenders. They worked quickly to keep up with the demand. I found it faster to go to the bar on the 12th deck, one deck up from the pool, then to wait at the poolside bar in that line. The bar in the sushi restaurant was rarely busy and they will serve you even if you don't eat. But the appetizer we had was good. FYI, we were told that it was ship policy not to serve drinks neat or to serve shots. All drinks must be poured over ice or mixed with soda or a mixer. However, I was able to order "after dinner drinks" like Frangelico or Gran Marnier, neat, in the restaurants. The only on board entertainment we took in was the adult comedian show, Landry. He was funny and I wasn't offended but he was crude. We walked by a one man piano bar show in the Atrium area that looked very entertaining but it seemed all of the seats were occupied so we moved on. We went to the White Hot party on Wednesday night of our sailing but we sat on the upper deck and watched the party going on below us. Everyone was having a blast dancing and listening to the music, us included. We spent some time in the casino. It was pretty crowded but I managed to get a seat at the roulette table on 2 separate occasions. It had a $10 minimum bet on our sailing and the colored chips are $2 chips. I have never encountered $2 chips before. Drink service here was lacking. For that matter, drink service was lacking next to the pool as well. We had a person serving cups of water on one occasion only. If we wanted a drink anywhere other then a meal, we had to walk up to a bar and get it ourselves, this included bottled water and soda pop. This didn't bother us much though. We got off of the ship in Freeport and walked the meager shops here. There are a few restaurants, small eateries and shops. We bought a few souvenirs and had some conch fritters that were ok. The locals were very friendly and we felt comfortable here. This port is very small and there isn't much to do if you don't book an excursion. We were exhausted from the previous days travels and wanted to enjoy some downtime on the ship and the port so we opted not to do an excursion here. We booked the Pearl Island excursion in Nassau. We were one of five ships in port that day and the port was extremely crowded! I was so glad we booked an excursion that took us away from the main hub of activity. Pearl Island was beautiful and quiet. Tip: If you are one of the first groups to arrive, don't stop at the first beach area you encounter. Keep walking down the island until you get to the private cabana areas and you can't go further. This area is quiet and we had it to ourselves for an hour and a half. We were luckily the first of 4 groups to arrive that day. They had clamshell lounges that are fee free and we had one of these all day. We brought our own snorkeling gear and were able to see lots of small fish near the rocks on the beach area. The water was pretty shallow. It would have been great for small kids. The drinks here were not strong and expensive. A 16oz drink was $14. A bottle of beer was $7. The provided lunch was delicious. Fish, BBQ chicken, rice and plantains. I wish we had more time here. 3 hours was not enough but I appreciated that they staggered the groups of guests so the island was never overcrowded. As we were leaving, the owner of the island came by our boat to see if we had enjoyed our visit. He said he kept the tour groups small on purpose for that reason. On the way back they took the boat by a few celebrity houses. That was fun. We were looking forward to a relaxing day at Great Stirrup Cay. It started out cloudy as soon as we boarded the tender. Tip: If you go down to board before 9am, you can get right on. After 9am, they assign you to a group and you have to wait to be called to board. Once on the island, we kept walking past all of the first groups of chairs. Tip: If you like the peace and quiet, don't stop at the first groups of chairs you find. Walk all the way to the private cabana area, at the end of the island, and this beach is more isolated, less crowded and there are rocks to snorkel around. There was a food truck, bathrooms and gazebo bar all nearby. Tip: They served beer in cans so bring a koozie. On this day we had about an hour before the rain started. And it never went away. It was just hard rain or light rain. This island was beautiful and I really wanted to enjoy it all day but the rain ruined it. I would love to go back on a dry day sometime. Since NCL owns this island, everything was included and it was all good. I recognized some of the crew from the ship working on the island as well. These people never get a break. LOL! Wonderful, hardworking people from all over the world. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. We have already booked another cruise with NCL to the Mexican Riviera in March and we will take our kids this time. We cannot wait to share the cruise experience with them. Read Less

I really enjoyed everything from the karaoke bar to the mega party at Bliss haha. Bahamas was wonderful and also the Cay, I’m looking forward to travel with you again. Noelia (guest service agent) was so helpful, kind and very attentive. She definitely deserve all the good things. The bartenders were wonderful, like Errol from Local bar...he was very cool, funny, and respectful. The food was AMAZING, gosh.... everything about the food was wonderful. I heard people there saying that Norwegian is better cooker than Royal. I really wanted to go to Cuba (that was the main reason for go with you) but I don’t regret my week with. For my first time been on a cruise I can say that im definitely coming back. Ahh and also I Met some amazing people! Read Less

Lifelong dream. Wanted a nice, smaller venue, not 4,500 people. Loved cruise. Our cruise director Jasper was amazing. He attended every game show or magic show with hints and tips to make our cruise fantastic. Joel Meyer was amazing illusionist/mentalist. The Crossings restaurant was the best on ship for us, particularly one waiter Nadil. The Garden cafe is a buffet. It was also very good. As mentioned, Jasper discussed on Saturday night that the excursions on their private island would all start around 11 am and tenders would start at 8, such would be a good time to go over. I am so glad he did. We had as terrific time. Then we headed back as 2 tenders full with about 400 people each was going to island. That left the Sky pool almost empty which was amazing for a fews hours. Norwegian Sky was clean and every crew member was very nice. Guitar by Angel was a pleasure to listen to in the Atrium lounge. Really enjoyed 2 or 3 shows with him. And you can forget the "washy, washy" ladies at the entrance to every buffet food venue. Amazing, sweet ladies spraying your hands before buffet. Read Less

It was amazing, every starting the greet from nice staff, the food from the dining restaurants, activities, we had fun at the hot white party! The activities at the Bliss were amazing and both of Joel Meyers show were incredible! My room was impecable the hole time! They would come and fix the extra couch for my son and made him fell cozy. I signed up my son for the Teens program and it was super easy for him to make new friends which was great so at the private island he had who to entertain with. At the private island I really don’t have enough words for the Amazon beach! So clear and just great to snorkel and swim with the manta rays and so much colorful fishes!! I would definitely go again in a heartbeat!! Read Less

This cruise was chosen by my cousin, to celebrate my aunt’s 60th birthday. There was a party of about 12 of us. I looked into it and thought it looked awesome, so we went ahead and booked. We live in NYC, but departed from Miami. We didn’t explore Miami, as we had vacationed there earlier this year. We flew into West Palm Beach, which I wouldn’t do again, because it was really too far from the part. We flew out of Fort Lauderdale, which was a comfortable distance. I recommend flying directly in and out of Miami if possible, however JetBlue, our favorite airline, does not fly there. Embarkation and disembarkation were seamless. We had two adjacent cabins for my immediate family, which consisted of myself and my husband, then our three year old daughter and my mom. We originally wanted to all stay in the same cabin, but I’m so glad we didn’t, because it definitely would’ve been too tight for four people. There is also only one bathroom in each stateroom. The food in every restaurant was excellent. I enjoyed the vast variety of cuisines, usually for dinner. We mostly spent breakfast and lunch at the main buffet. The ports of call and shore excursions were very nice. We docked in Port Lucaya, Castaway Cay and Freeport, Bahamas. In Freeport we took a guided round trip tour of the island, which began at the Rum Cake Factory and ended at Atlantis. While on the ship, we enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The pool games were cute and I loved how interactive the staff was. There was live entertainment on the deck in the evenings, usually a cover band with a great singer. There were basketball courts and a mini golf area, that looked fun. Plenty for teenagers to do. Our three year old definitely enjoyed herself, and while she’s usually a picky eater, everyday there was something she wanted to try. The white party was probably my favorite party. We danced to a variety of music and there was an after party at a lounge on the ship. I cannot rave enough about the staff on our trip. These people were kind, courteous and genuinely interested in making our trip amazing. I was literally blown away by how hospitable everyone was. Our rooms were spotless everyday and attended to twice a day. All in all I definitely can’t wait to go on another Norwegian Cruise. Read Less

This was an absolutely great Cruise June 14-17.I rented 2 Rooms, one a Junior Suite and down the hall a Oceanside Balcony Room.It was my Daughters Graduation Present and I had 2 Boys,my Nephews with us bot 10 and 11.CoCoCay was fabulous, everyone was extremely friendly and accomodating, the several Restaurants were great as well as the Service Staff.I did not buy a Pass but was able to go in to the Park area at 12 PM Noon as the Attendent allowed me to (Im totally disabled so couldnt utilize the great facility)The Beach was fabulous, clean and new chairs, chaise Lounges etc and Lockers for the Family. The Food was plenty and great quality,no problems getting a second helping in the gorgeous Tri Level Dining Room, saw the Show "Showgirls" spectacular, reminded me of Vegas, didnt get to the Ice Rink.My Daughter and Boyfriend used the Specialty Dining Rooms and it was crazy amount of food they got from Sushi to Prime Rib.Just a few glitches and here they are. The Cabins (both on the 9th Deck) were warm and couldnt cool them as we would like. Ordered 2 gifts (Octypus and Blanket) to bein the Suite when we arrived, only one was there, after spending sometime in line at Customer Service I still didnt receive it until around 6 PM and spoke to someone and it finally was delivered. The Auto Tipping I had removed and tipped accordingly, the Staff did better this way with me. I wouldnt buy the Soft Drink Package as its a $$ Maker, theres Free Drinks and Water all aboard the Ship and carryng these 32oz Cups was a pain.other than these few quirks and a Royal Caribbean Gold Member it was a great time all around. The Dining Room gets 5 Stars, the Open Dining was great, same table each night and the food was 5 Stars. My balcony suite was perfect for me & Jose(Angel) did an amazing job keeping it clean and keeping me stocked with towels. The food was really good, everywhere we ate. Pool deck service was amazing Kevin & Felipe kept the drinks coming. Comedian Jay Moore was HILARIOUS!! It was nice to have the movie option in the afternoon for those that needed a break from the sun. Cruise director Jasper was very entertaining & funny hosting the dance contest. I cant remember the name of the Spanish Band that played but the Selena tribute was REALLY GOOD. Nina was very friendly and entertaining during the trivia game. The private island was really nice, good was good and Felipe kept the drinks flowing. I wasn't in the casino long but the staff was friendly when I was there. The only thing I didn't like was the muster, it was to HOT, crowded and uncomfortable to be standing for so long. But the info was good to know incase. Read Less

We originally were booked for the Cuba cruise but that was changed and everyone knows that story. So our destination was truly the ship and it’s amenities because we live in Florida and know Freeport and Nassau like the back of our hand. So we were booked in the Owners Suite number 9201. This comes with a butler and concierge. I’ve been booked in the Captains Suite on the Carnival Conquest and Victory and they are spacious with two bathrooms. However, the service on the Sky was far superior to the Carnival ships. Our butler’s name was Navi and our Concierge’s name was Orlando. Whatever we wanted or needed it was taken care of. Now to the refit of the ship, it looked brand new. They upgraded everything so nothing looked tired or old school. We ate breakfast and lunch at Cagneys every day which was part of our suite package. Great breakfast and lunch. One night we ate at the Palace which was a big mistake because it took forever for our food to come. But with that said, the food was good. We did room service one night and that was fast and good. And on our last night we ate at La Cucina’s which was quite good too. But I would rate Cagneys as the best. Never ate at the buffet so I can’t rate that. We had a hot tub on our balcony. We turned it into a cool tub because it was too hot to use as a hot tub. The two bathrooms were amazing as was the suite. I can’t say enough good things about the Sky and the people aboard her. Also did pretty darn good in casino. So I booked her for next year at this time of the year only changed one thing and that was the suite. Someone on the CC boards told me that Suite 8201 was better than 9201 so I’m booked 8201 next year. A wonderful experience, thank you NCL. Read Less

Don't get me wrong it was fun, love the unlimited drinks, loved the atmosphere, just wish it was more entertainment for Young adults. It was fun activities. Loved the all white party, even though wasn't aware of it, glad I had packed some white clothes lol. The club onboard was also lit, loved the lip sync battle fyi my nephew won!. It was his first cruise and he had a blast!. We both did! Can't wait for the next one. The food could've been a little bit better. Had some more seasoning, but the exquisite restaurants were you had to have a reservation food was delicious. Also need more varieties for breakfast, for people who don't eat beef, or pork. It was only bacon, turkey bacon should be added, or chicken apple sausage. Also, for the hamburgers. Hamburgers looked so delicious, but it was only beef, recommend you guys have turkey burgers also, for those who don't eat beef. All in all the cruise was fun, had a blast! Read Less

I’d like to start off by saying that the moment you walk on this ship you are greeted warmly by ANY employee you encounter. We went on a weekend cruise, my husband and I with our two young children (5&6). Aside from the great staff, the ship is extremely clean. There are employees everywhere constantly picking up. As I finish a plate someone is already taking the plate, it’s like they know what I need before I even know I need it. The staff at the restaurants even remembered my kids name and would call them by name as we saw them throughout the ship, this made them feel so special. The food was incredible as well anywhere we went. We ate at Le Bistro our first night and we could not be happier. It was so delicious and the service was spectacular. The buffets throughout the ship were also great and had a variety of food for everyone, also super clean which is difficult to find from buffets. I never experienced that food had run out, I promise we ate so much and were super satisfied, I’d never seen my kids enjoy food so much as they did this weekend! The breakfast buffet was phenomenal! So many options and the omelette bar is an awesome touch. My cabin was always clean and my cabin stewardess was the nicest and was on top of everything we needed. Again, thinking ahead to anything we might need before I even knew it! At the private island you get in and off the ship through a tender which is like another smaller boat that takes you back and fourth to the island. When I saw this I thought oh no this is going to take forever, but the process was very fast and we really didn’t have to wait. There was also a buffet on the island (more food!) which had a variety of options as well. Lastly, for anyone traveling with children this is the MAIN reason I would return on this ship. Sure, it doesn’t have a lot of the slides and all that stuff other ships might have that you can enjoy with children on the ship... but their Splash Academy is INCREDIBLE! I mean, my children would be so excited to return for their activities. This gives us parents some peace of mind in knowing our children are in good hands while we try to have some time to ourselves! The counselors are so kind and have numerous activities planned for the kids at different hours. When we were on the island they also had beachside activities. On the ship they had face painting, arts and crafts, fairy tale night where the kids were dressed as princesses and walked around singing songs, a Hollywood show, I mean they thought of everything! My kids want to return just for the splash academy and we are definitely not complaining. In general we truly enjoyed our experience and can’t wait to plan our next experience in this ship! Read Less

The reason we picked this cruise fame of Norwegian lines. They are little bit pricey I have been told but you get what you pay. I would say taking a cruise , especially all inclusive , is much more cheaper and entertaining than the regular hotel vacation. We spend more just for the hotel in Panama City Beach for same amount day. Plus drinks and food expense , including six hours each way drive. Since it is our first cruise trip we decided to enjoy what comes with it and didn’t take any excursions. Next time, the same trip can be embellished with excursions and become a totally different experience. The music volume was great, it was loud enough to energize you but also was at the point that doesn't irritate you after a while. Crew was well trained, friendly and very fast and organized. Here are the things that i think necessary to take with you: Medicine Small bottle sunscreen Two shorts Two underwear Flip flops Sunglasses A hat or a bandanna Body splash ( Not mandatory, sunscreen smells great anyway) Lady wipes ( This is my mandatory item but definitely your personal preference) Fanny pack ( Very useful, I would recommend highly) Backpack for travelling Travel toothbrush and toothpaste Fun book I would highly recommend this cruise line. We cruised with a very large group of people from our dance studio. (49 dancers aged 7-17 and their families totaling 189 people). The kids performed a 35 minute show in the Royal Theatre on the sea day. Our cruise departed from Terminal A in Miami and the embarkation process went smoothly and quickly. It was less than 30 minutes from driving onto the ramp of the parking garage to getting our first drink at the Lime and Coconut. Overall Impression: The ship, having just been through its major “amped” renovation, was gorgeous and in great condition. Over the course of the cruise, we spent time in Copper&Kettle, Playmakers (Michigan was playing for the College World Series Championship so several of us watched), Schooner Bar, R Bar, Boleros, Cosmopolitan Club, Star Lounge, and had occasion to utilize the bar in the Casino. All of them were immaculate and crew kept them clean with readily available service. We did not have to wait an unreasonable time at any bar while on the cruise. Note: the swim up bar on CoCoCay and the Lime and the Coconut had the longest waits, but they were not horrible. Dining: Because we were with the large group, we ate dinner in the Main Dining Room every night at the early seating. Our family did not have any specialty dining. The food in the main dining room was good, what I would consider decent for a good restaurant. It wasn’t stellar, but what I would expect as better-than-average quality for a nice restaurant serving thousands of people per night. My 13-year-old daughter is an adventurous eater, and it was a great opportunity for her to try escargot (which she had every night) and other items like salmon tartare and beef carpaccio, Duck á l’orange, etc, that she wouldn’t try otherwise. The Dining Room itself is absolutely gorgeous. Our particular waiters were wonderful (Angel and Muhamad), with fabulous personalities and really made our experience. Reports from others in our group varied widely on this issue. Some had inattentive servers that didn’t refill drinks or offer coffee. We had no complaints at our table of 10. The Windjammer was fine for breakfasts and lunch. Again, it wasn’t anything special, but did have a very large variety of good food. We ate lunch at El Loco Fresh on the pool deck a couple of times and found it to be fresh, flavorful, and delicious. For late night snacks, the Cafe Promenade was adequate. Our group spent quite a bit of late night time at the tables on the promenade, so I had the occasion to see the ebb and flow of large crowds hankering for pizza after events, as well as the trickle of people at other times seeking out sandwiches. The sandwiches from there were very yummy, and there was a selection of salads, charcuterie, and desserts as well. Overall, it was a good late night option, although there were times when a single server was overwhelmed with the lines. Shows: we made a point of seeing all of the main shows on the ship. ISkate, the skating show, was outstanding. If I could have made another showing, I would have watched it again. The first production of the Royal Singers and Dancers was a ballroom dance themed show, and it was excellent. I highly recommend. The comedian, Kivi, gave two shows; an all-ages set, and an adult set another night. They were both hysterical. The magician headliner, JZ, was terrible and a waste of time. I am so, so sorry I chose to se him rather than choose some of the game shows or other options in bars around the ship at that time. His “big trick” was nothing more than magnetic tangrams on a white board that any kindergarten teacher could manipulate. His show was a 30-minute infomercial to purchase his magic kits. Royal should be embarrassed. The second Royal Singer and Dancer Production was called “Showgirl” and although very good, I felt the first one was better. Entertainment: There was no shortage of varied entertainment across the ship. The bands were great, both in the bars and along the Promenade. There was an acoustic guitar player and singer in the Cooper & Kettle that did singer/songwriter stuff that was particularly good. We spent a lot of time in the Schooner Bar in late evening with a piano/comedy improve performer that was a lot of fun. There was a cover band in Boleros the final night that played a varied set (“Heaven” followed by “Highway to Hell” that was spectacular! We participated in the two dance parties along the Promenade hosted by the entertainment crew; the 70’s Disco Party and the 80’s Party, and they were both a blast. The adult karaoke in the Cosmopolitan Club was disappointing. Although we sang “Bohemian a Rhapsody” and had a great time, the host was weak-not singing or encouraging at all, and the song selection was poor. As a result, we left after only spending about 40 minutes there. The X vs. Y Game and Crazy Quest in Studio B were quite possibly the most hilarious things I’ve ever done in my life! Do yourself a favor; have a cocktail or two, loosen up, and go participate! Hugo was our Cruise Director and while I loved his energy and personality when we saw him, we didn’t see him very often. He introduced the main shows and hosted Crazy Quest, but that was his entire presence on the ship. I was disappointed and wanted more. Was it a bummer? Yes or yes? CoCoCay: in short, The island is beautiful! We rented a cabana in the Oasis Lagoon area and I would do that again if prices are reasonable. The fan, the ice cooler with water, the towels, and the attendant made it worth the cost split 8 ways. The Oasis Lagoon is clean and the pool itself is a heavy-duty liner over sand, so it is comfy on the feet. There are plenty of benches and shade can be found, but the pool itself is very warm and not refreshing. We found the large splash pad to be the best spot to get some refreshing dousing of cool water. South Beach is very shallow out to the floating bar, and it is typical clear water and Sandy bottom. There are fish, sea ur hind, and more along the beaches; just be aware. Chickens, peacocks, and iguanas roam the island freely. There are also gulls which can be annoying near the buffet, but we didn’t really have any issues at all eating in our cabana. There is love entertainment in Captain Jacks. We did not pay extra to go to Thrill Waterpark, although others in our party did. I would intentionally choose a cruise itinerary with CoCoCay as a stop; it was a great day. (We did have a late afternoon storm roll in that cleared the water for 30 minutes, but rather than get caught in the crowd heading back to the ship, we chose to ride it out in the bar, listening to live acoustic guitar karaoke, and that was a great choice) Overall, it was a fantastic cruise! The pool was fantastic, the kids enjoyed the slides. The gathering places on the deck above Lime and Coconut was a great place to congregate. I would highly recommend this ship and itinerary! My best friend from college turned 50 this year, so when she told me that her and three of her high school girlfriends were going on a cruise, I tagged along (even though I am past that 50 now!). Spouses were included as well, and one college grad son, so the men had someone to talk to! So here are the highlights of our time on the Navigator of the Seas! *Perfect Day on Coco Cay--my DH and I live on an island, so hanging at a beach is not what we do on vacation. We did enjoy the Up Up and Away Balloon ride. The balloon is tethered and goes up a couple hundred feet. Gave us a great view of the island, the neighboring islands and what was available on Coco Cay. I noticed a floating bar, so that is where I ended up! People did appear to be enjoying themselves, but we went early and were back on the ship early so.... *I could ride the water slides!!! I enjoyed the Blaster--that is the one with the 2 person inflatable. It was fun and I rode that a few times. It was still a great time to be on the ship, as majority of folks were at Coco Cay. When you are on the ship during a busy day, like the day at sea, I recommend you head up to the Navigator Dunes/ Putt Putt course. Around there, they have these amazing clam shell beds--we snagged one and watched the sea past us. There was even an attentive server to bring us a drink from the bar (Lime and Coconut) downstairs. I noticed a few of those clam shells were open, suspect people do not know about them. *We did the My Time Dining with our party of 10. Our first night was a late seating, but we were able to arrange for earlier seatings on the other nights. Our first 2 nights were at the same table with Josef. I always enjoy a waiter who will tell you his recommendations. It just feels like a personal touch. Our last night, DH and I splurged on the Chef's Table. This is our second time doing this on a Royal Caribbean ship and yes, it is the same menu. But the Chefs are different and they do put their own touch on the food. This meal was the best meal we had on board the ship! My only complaint---we had scheduled it for our 2nd night on the ship, but they moved it to the last night. It was a small group of us, 6 in total. We all enjoyed it! *The iSkate--Reach for the Stars show was amazing! The ice skaters are like Olympic quality! It opens with a drone show that was amazing---how do they prevent them from running into each other! We saw the show that first evening on board, and there was a good crowd but not packed. They offered it again the last day, and that one was packed! The other show that we really enjoyed was a regular entertainer in the Schooner Bar, David Curtis Mutter. He performs improv musical comedy and he was hilarious! I have never laughed so hard! Another treat was the Travelling Pianist! He parked his piano in one of the glass elevators and would play a tune --much better than Muzak! I enjoyed his music so much, when I found him (twice!) I simply rode in the elevator, not going anywhere in particular!! *We booked an interior cabin and it suited our needs just fine. I did receive the Royal Up email, and that is when I noticed that our cabin had a virtual balcony! So we kept the interior and were entertained with our "balcony". It was cool and really nice during the day. It is live action, I watched folks on jet skis going around the front of the ship! Cannot see much at night, but pull the curtains over it and you can continue to enjoy your dark cabin!! Not quite the highlight, but you got to do it on a cruise ship: Embarkation--kind of confusing, not set up as I remember (and I went on 3 cruises last year!). There were several different entry areas, but the person checking the set sail pass had to look at your passport and take a picture of you. It appeared to take more time than the usual way. In hindsight, this might have been when they also set up the facial recognition for passports. This was noted on disembarkation and did speed up that process. For those that travel with paper birth certificate, the line after the cruise was the longest that I have seen, and only like 2-4 custom agents. Those folks were not getting out anytime soon! All in all, it was an enjoyable cruise. It was great to see my college friend and catch up. Enjoyed all the moments that put a smile on our face, as this is why we cruise!! Read Less

Approaching Diamond Members, so we Love Royal Caribbean. The newly renovated Navigator is well done. The Port of Miami RCCL boarding process was greatly improved as we were on the ship in less than 15 minutes. The music was great on this ship thanks to the Royal Caribbean Orchestra with the High C's Horn section, Directed by keyboardist, Hugh Little, a very gifted and talented Musician from Michigan, he made the cruise a fun experience for us. As a professional musician myself, I was so impressed by the talent these players demonstrated. We hope they stay together on the Navigator since we are going again in October. The other highlight for us was the Cruise Director, Yugo. What a fun, upbeat person. He sets the "fun" tone for the cruise and he should be commended. Make sure you go to the shows and you will enjoy his personality. The Ice Show "Reaching For The Stars" is a must see. The skaters are very talented (Olympic Quality) and the high-tech use of lighted drones during the show was very impressive. Specialty Dining has become disappointing. Chops Grill on this ship as on our previous cruise, Allure of the Seas was very disappointing. The "casual" atmosphere with the removal of the tablecloths ( replaced by Plastic Mats ?) was a turn off. When you pay for specialty dining you want it to be special, right? Well, that is our thinking. So, in the future, we will not be paying the extra fee and just stick with the MDR (Main Dining Room), which in our opinion was much nicer. Our waiter and head waiter were amazing and very friendly. We hope to see Priscilla and Rosebeth again. Excellent service! The renovated Coco Cay is very nice. No more tendering in to the island thanks to the new pier. The waterpark is a must for the kids and family. Multiple restrooms, bars and food stations is a very nice improvement. Overall, this is a very nice four day cruise on the Navigator. Going again on her this October. Read Less

Our sons and their girlfriends joined us, so 6 of us, they are all in mind 20's avg. We picked the Navigator as it was a decent 4 nter to Bahamas from Miami and we stayed a cpl xtra nights in Fort Lauderdale tacked on in the end. Quick UberXL to Miami Airport, checked in at terminal A and was slick, the new way they check you in, and from time dropping off bags till ordering 1st cocktail, no more than 20 minutes. Disembark was jut as quick, we walked off with our luggage, always do. We got them Inside cabins (1 each cpl) and upgraded to Ocean View and did the upgrade with the bid process, minimum bid. We had cabin 10390 aft location and what a sweet location, 1st time in aft for any of our cruises. Balcony was extended and a little wider, 2 lounge chairs, 2 regular chairs, and 2 little tables, with room in between. Food - service and food was very good. Includes Windjammer, MDR, Chops, Hooked, the Tacos at Pool level, food on the Promenade too. Entertainment - was average i would say, not better or worse from any other RC ships. Coco Cay - outstanding upgrade! Kids loved it we enjoyed the beach as normal, we were right of Chill beach, near washrooms, near food and drinks flowed!Beach and water were Perfect, we actually had a Perfect Day! serious! lol Kids said lines werent overly bad, but no lines later in day, hour or 2 before getting back to ship they said no lines or short lines. Nassau we went to Tiki Bikini Hut and Beach, walked the straw market there and back to Tiki, food and drinks were good. Weather and beach very good again! The new upgrades were down up nicely. kids did slides and said they were fun, new chairs around the pools and cabanas nice touch. Clean and easy to get around ship. Read Less

This was a mom & daughter trip . My daughter and her husband had experienced a cruise before on another cruise line . When this cruise came up my daughter suggested this 3 night Bahamas cruise for her and myself as I’ve never cruised before . Oh my it was fabulous from the first step onto the ship until disembarking, the food was amazing , drinks were plenty and flowing , all of the staff on board couldn’t have been any better to us , they all were truly amazing! Very clean , the cabin staff cleaned our room twice daily, entertainment was top notch , comedian 2 nights and a tribute show another . Had pedicures at the Spa on board they are awesome. The stop at Great Stirrip Cay is not to be missed , absolutely beautiful island, we found a quiet little niche and enjoyed the sun & sand ., while others enjoyed the adventures available on the island. Was an amazing long weekend holiday .Can’t wait to do it all again ! Read Less

The islanders we visited were so outstanding, had a great time explaining them. There was always something to do on board, would recommend this sky ship to all. It was like one big parity. We did miss the island excursion to stir up cay and plan to see it on our next trip. We had champagne every night it was such a delight, it was so easy to bland the cruise and exit the boat as well. Can’t wait to sail again. Read Less

I've been on 2 cruises previously & my other half has never been on a cruise. I was a bit nervous going in as other reviews remarked on "booze cruise" and problems, etc. and I wanted this to be great for him. It was! We had a great time! Easy on the boat and about a 2hr wait for our cabin (we had carry-on bags) so we had lunch and waited a bit, signed up for a small cabana for the Bahamas bit, walked around, etc. Room was newly remodelled (the ship got out of dry dock in early March this year?). Spacious for 2 of us - and we had a balcony mid-ship. The balcony was great to sit on - 2 chairs and a tiny drink table. Plenty of closet space and the shower was big enough for each of us and he's 6ft tall. Housekeeping was always friendly. Plenty of handwash stations and sanitizing stations. Buffet for lunch and breakfast though we could've had sit-down (we did have sit-down breakfast the last day). Dinner in both main dining rooms was nice and attentive. We ate 1 night in Cagney's and charged it to our room (the AC was ridiculously cold and no help despite repeated complaints it was too cold in there) and for it being late when we ate, there were still lots of large parties coming in and people's dress was varied (shorts and flip flops to suits). Another night we didn't eat dinner on the ship and ate in Havana. Did a shore excursion by NCL to comply with Cuba visa requirements and then in the evening, explored a bit on our own in Havana and had dinner where the tour guide recommended. There is no AC in most places in Havana, no internet, and most places are cash-only. The casino was the casino. Went to a few shows. Missed some of the activities we wanted to do as we got wrapped up walking around the deck multiple times and just enjoying the weather and each other. The piano bar area was crazy busy in the evenings. Didn't do any of the late-night club party/events. Never had a problem getting a drink or waiting too long. Staff was super friendly -some bar staff was meh but likely expected. Clean ship and everything seemed super tidy at all times (not even random glasses or cups lying around). Never a problem getting a chair by the pool. Internet costs were ridiculously high - they even charge to text message each other using their app which I think is beyond penny-pinching on NCL part. We had 100min included, but due to family health crisis at home we upgraded to unlimited and it was more than I pay for a month at home and only one of us could be online at a time. Wish we had an extra day in Cuba and for the Bahamas, they refunded our cabana charges as it rained half the day and we didn't even ask for a refund! Overall great experience though Read Less

First passengers to visit a remodeled Cococay with new water park, pool with bar etc, The whole facilities were excellent, beach did not feel crowded at all (may change on the bigger ships like the Allure), pool was very animated with DJ, had the feel of being in a 5 star hotel pool, The water park gave nice fit to whole family travel idea with rides for every age, this island will surely be a reason to travel in Royal Caribbean for many families in months to come. Of course the water park has a cost of $44 per day, Zipline is $79, There is a Hellium Ballone (costs $24) Jetski tour ($104), etc. Navigator has free water slide on ship, one doulble rider and a single rider (heads down), pretty nice and its free. Shows were ok but not on the level of the Symphony or Harmony, Will recommend it is certainly a nice weekend getaway alternative for those who live in Florida. Read Less

I'll start off with the disclaimer that I am comparing this to all of our previous family cruises in non-suite staterooms. We were fortunate, however, to get into the family suite for a reasonable price by booking early. With that said, our 4 night adventure on Mariner of the Seas was outstanding. This was my first time on Mariner of the Seas, but I have been on other Voyager class ships before. I think these ships are the perfect size to offer a variety of things to do without feeling crowded or rushed. Fortunately, the folks at RCI coupled that with a nice mix of entertainment and activities that were aptly timed to blend with the itinerary. We had a couple opportunities for laser tag and it was a blast. We had time for the Flowrider and water slides without lines that were discouraging. We had time for shows, movies in the theater, movies on the pool deck, sun time, and more without feeling rushed! We got to experience a lot of what the ship and ports of call had to offer without compromising much needed relaxation time in between. If you have read any of my previous reviews, you know that I have somewhat high expectations when it comes to service. This cruise defined what great service is. Yes, the room was kept clean and drinks were served promptly and courteously. There was never really a long wait for anything. I could go on and on, but I would rather recognize two specific individuals that went above and beyond to ensure everyone in our party knew that they were valued guests on board Mariner of the Seas. Sam, our waiter in the Suite Lounge, got to know our names and drinks on the first day. After that, Sam had drinks in our hand within minutes of walking in. This includes the eight year olds' Shirley Temples with extra cherries! In addition to making sure that we had everything before we knew we wanted it, Sam was a great conversationalist. In the main dining room, we were greeted every night by head waiter Jean Paul. He made sure that the kids enjoyed themselves by offering special treats for whoever finished dinner. This was nice in itself, but he really stood out when we encountered him in the Windjammer while having breakfast. Jean Paul took the time to show a first time cruiser how to get a cooked-to-order omelette. I mean, he literally walked her through the process. Could it have been figured out? Sure, but he insisted on helping. Mariner of the Seas packed a medley of entertainment and activities into this four night cruise, delivered with exemplary service in an impeccably clean and easy to navigate ship. Read Less

This was our first Norwegian Cruise and we have a great time. The ship was refurbished and nice. Cabins still need some minor tweaks but overall it was a great experience. This cruise had an unlimited drinks option which made this a great value. I will certainly cruise Norwegian again very soon. Also, I was not sure how i would feel about the freestyle cruising option but it worked perfectly for travelers like our family. We like the option to do and move at our own schedule. I can't wait to take my kids on a Norwegian cruise to see how much they enjoy it as well. The service was great by the staff on board the ship as well especially in the dining halls. We had great experiences in all the dining facilities. We did not book any shore excursions but we did go ashore and do things at our own pace. I like that option as well. Read Less
