The MSC Divina is a huge disappointment! Not a cruise for Americans!! The Customer Service is horrible. None of the staff can speak or understand English fluently (including managers!) the food is disgusting ( on two different occasions I found hair in my food which was also served very cold!) I showed my plate to the waiter, he shrugged his shoulders like it was no big deal, then picked the hair out of my food and also stuck his finger in my food to see if it was cold. He told me to eat it and never offered a fresh plate!.. There is also a 15% service charge for tipping added to your bill, this is why I believe the Customer Service is so horrible, because they do not have to work hard or earn their tip it's automatically given to them. (Trust me I believe in tipping, as a salon owner and stylist I know first hand about tips! You have to smile, make conversation, and go out of your way to please the customer. There is also a $12.00 per person per day service charge that is given to the staff as tips! There was one waitress we found in the cigar bar- Kartika from Indonesia. This young lady was pleasant and if it wasn't for her I would have left the ship, even if I had to swim home I would have! It was that bad! I normally would not have wrote a bad review ( Momma always said if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all!) sorry mom I had to let fellow Americans aware of this before they waste their hard earned money and time! Research research research before booking a cruise on the Divina! We learned a lesson the hard way! Hope this review will save someone money and help them find a cruise they can enjoy with friendly people, good food, and lots of fun! Good luck! P.s. Our luggage (which had my medicine inside) was lost. We were promised we would have it by 4:30 at the latest. No luggage-Again promised by 6:00 pm. No luggage at 6:00 pm another promise for 8:30 pm and again at 10:30 pm! Guess what, at midnight no luggage or medicine the staff didn't care or try to help find it! My husband and I had to search every floor and by 2:00am we found it outside another passengers door! The only thing MSC cares about is charging you money!! Period! Read Less

My friend who cruises often said I was going to have to be pulled down to Earth after my cruise, because I was going to have the time of my life and be treated like a princess. Well..she never cruised Norwegian. The food was awful, the staff treated me more like a serf than a princess, and I was more than happy to leave Miami for St. Louis when the cruise was done. My balcony cabin which was supposed to accommodate 3-4 was cramped--just for little 5'2"me. It smelled, and the carpet looked like it hadn't been cleaned for 5 years. The only way to get onboard cash was at the casino ATM--$5/transaction. Unless you like to drink, smoke, gamble or watch cheesy shows--nothing interesting to do on the ship. Ok..to be fair and let you know I'm not a chronic complainer: The Bahamas were beautiful, and the Bahamian people friendly My cabin steward and one waitress in the Palace Dining Room DID treat me like a princess. The passengers were friendly, for the most part Read Less

I'm a travel agent, and my agency business partner and I took a short cruise on the Divinia to check out this ship. We had both been on the MSC Poesia in 2010 so had previous experience with MSC. We did not board the ship until 1:30 p.m. on Sunday January 11, and we disembarked this ship at 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 13. We could not wait to get off. The Port of Miami is not that easy to get to, and we found out when we got there that there is no close parking near terminal F which is where the Divina was parked. It also cost us $40 to park at a lot that was for a different terminal. Luckily, we didn't have that many bags, so we could drag them ourselves to the main entrance for terminal F. It's not pleasant, and very inconvenient. We would advise you to find an off site parking lot and take their shuttle to and from the port. We stayed the night before in Plantation FL, and it was about a 30 min drive on a Sunday morning to get down to the port. On our return, it was a little nerve wracking driving through Miami's rush hour traffic. We were just glad to get out of there early before the traffic got any worse. Now about our experience. The service on this ship was terrible, the food was mediocre, and the ship was dirty. Every where we looked there was dirt. There was visible dirt, fingerprints and dust on the floors, the mirrors, the doors - every where. Our cabin was not clean when we boarded, and it was not cleaned until after 3:00 p.m. There were always cleaning carts in the hallways at any time of the day or night. There was a cleaning cart parked outside the door to the ladies bathroom next to our dining room constantly. It was never put away. There were dirty finger prints on the dining room doors, as well as on mirrors. Even outside on the pool and recreation decks there was dirt. Nothing any where on the ship ever looked clean to us. Every time I used a public bathroom they were dirty. When eating up in the food court, we noticed that there were always trays of dirty dishes sitting around. If the front of the house is dirty, what does the back of the house look like? The ship's hotel manager ought to be fired. My business partner has been in the travel industry for years and she and I both agreed that this was one of the worst cruises we had ever taken, mainly because the ship was so dirty. It is also very dark - dark colors every where in the décor and not very many windows in the public areas. The hallways and public areas are all broken up and it's like a maze to find anything. The best thing about MSC is their Spa. It is a Bali spa experience and we loved it. We remembered the Bali spa experience from the Poesia and the spa on the Davina was similar but larger. We especially loved the juice and smoothie bar in the spa where you could purchase healthy concoctions to drink. The fitness center was very small and did not have that many machines. There are many pools and whirlpools on this ship, but there are very few deck chairs. There are separate restaurants and pool areas for passengers book a Yacht Club experience. Only they can use them, and we did not go into that area so I can't report anything about them. They did have excellent entertainment on the ship. The musicians were extremely good, and the two shows were saw in the theater were very professionally done. The theater seats on this ship are comfortable, it's easy to see the stage regardless where you sit, and it has great acoustics. The food was average, and there never seemed to be enough of it on the buffet. The servers in the main dining room were not attentive, and didn't really care if they served you or not. Our two dinners in the MDR were not worth it. I'd almost be willing to bring my own food on this ship. When our waiter was questioned what kind of flavors of ice cream they had, he never knew, and didn't want to bother to find out. They never offered us coffee and we always, always, always had to ask for water. There were almost no desserts offered any where in the buffet or MDR. They wanted you to go to the Plaza area and BUY your desserts at their little shops. They featured drinks of the day on the dinner menu that contained Prosecco champagne, but when I asked to order a glass, I was told there was none on board. I felt like I was being nickled and dimed to death because I had to buy dessert & coffee if I wanted it. The front desk also told us they had no maps of the ships to give out because there were none on board. The bars all over the ship do have an excellent drink menu. The plaza area on one deck was unique and it is where the shops and small dessert restaurants are located. No windows in this area either. The entire ship was depressing to us. I also found the MSC website difficult to use for pre-cruise check in. Here's what happened to my credit card when I boarded. MSC put a total hold on my credit card account of $350.00 - $150 on Jan 11, and $200 on Jan 12. I got off the ship at 6:30 a.m. Jan 13 and had to go to the front desk and ask for our bills because they had not been delivered to the cabin, nor can you access your account on the ship's TV or from a kiosk. My total bill was $274.00. That $350.00 HOLD on my credit card stayed on my account for a week before my real amount was processed. That is using my money without my permission, and I do not like it at all. You may want to consider using cash for your account on this ship. There are a lot better cruise lines out there, and if MSC is going to keep attracting the American cruiser, they are going to have to improve their service, their food and clean up their ship. All in all not a good experience. Read Less

Let me start off by saying this was my first cruise so my expectations weren't high, but it will be my last. When they claim there will be entertainment they mean that they will have below average talented crew members sing and you. Literally a complete waste of time to see these shows. They also have a deal or no deal show, which was fun, but not included in the price. Its $20 per person. They also have a couple competitions OK board, such as a strong man competition etc etc. These competitions include a creepy host that hits on every single girl while making very sexual comments. I figured a strong man competition would include these guys working out but all it really included was guys grinding up and doing perverted dance gestures to a female judge. There were 3 different contest, strong man, Mr sexy legs and ms biceps. They all were this way. The rooms were nice and the cruise was relaxing but there was literally nothing to do. We spent most the time in our room sleeping just waiting for the cruise to be over. Read Less

I was thrilled to be going on a cruise for Christmas. Arriving in Miami and seeing the ship , I was very excited because the ship was beautiful. Once we reached our cabin there was a full bed. WMy son had booked the cruise and requested separate beds. We asked for it to be changed and were asked if we could sleep together for the night. What? I don't want to sleep with my son. Next, the air condition did not work, however the steward kept trying to convince us that it was working. They finally admitted three days later that they were having a problem. Then we had a premium cabin which we were told by the person that booked the cruise included free room service and free breakfast in the cabin. Customer service told us basically that we were lying (this was our first time on Costa cruise how would we have known this). Next, we ordered water USA which gave us free water during meals. However, we found out that breakfast is not a meal and were charged for water. Things kept going on like this. I understand that this was an European cruise, but you allowed other nationalities to board and should consider this. Customer Service was horrible, many people were complaining about the service. My son lost his phone and he was told that a passenger had stolen it and it would not be returned by an employee. She worked with the pictures and continued to tell us how the passengers steal pictures all time. Really, this is not what we want to hear. As an American, I give the total Costa Cruise a 2 out of 10. My waiter Dee Dee was great! But thank God for French fries. Definitely will go back to American Cruise lines. Read Less

A little background. We are "lite" cruisers. We enjoy a cruise every few years. We have greatly enjoyed cruises with royal Caribbean, and to a lesser extend, Norwegian. This was our first cruise with a child. We logically thought disney would be a good option, but in fact it was a disappointment. Wee had high expectations as this cruise was at least double the price per night of any other we had taken. It was by far the most disappointing. Mostly because the lack of a buffet option for dinner. I have never been on a cruise that did not offer a buffet option. Normally it would not be an issue, but with a toddler you don't want to have to endure a two hour, 5 course dinner. I find it extremely bizarre that Disney doesn't understand that it's guests may have young children that won't do well during an extended dining session. If the food was that good, it may have made up for the inconvenience, however the food was overcooked and heavily salted. It was such as shame too, as we could tell they used quality ingredients. Aside from the bizarre dinner experience, the rest of the cruise was ok. The ship looked very nice and the room was nice as well. The shows were targeted toward an older audience (maybe 5+). The one redeeming feature was the character sessions, which were really special. Unfortunately these were few and far between. Each character appear maybe once per day for 15 minutes. Would it really cost that much to have them appear longer? All and all this was the worst cruise we have ever been on. Yes, even worse than Norwegian. If you are adult that has a disney fetish and plenty of money it may be worthwhile. Otherwise, for parent of young children don't even think about it. You are better off going with royal Caribbean or one of the more reputable lines, saving a bunch of money, and doing a separate trip to Disney. Read Less

This was our first cruise with Royal Caribbean. Starting from embarkation in Miami, we were unimpressed with our 4 night cruise on Majesty. Check-in took a very long time. We had checked in online and had our SetSail pass and all documents ready to go. Unfortunately we were in line behind other passengers who hadn't done anything in advance. So it took an exceptionally long time to get to the front of the line. I would suggest that RC adopt a system like you see at airports - a line for those who have their paperwork completed, and a line for those who need to check in. Once onboard our staterooms were ready, which was great. Our luggage was delivered shortly after we set sail. Very efficient process. Our stateroom was TINY, but we were expecting it so no problem. There was plenty of storage space for all our belongings. The bathroom was comically small but it got the job done. We had the absolute WORST mattress that I have ever encountered. It was hard as a rock, with springs sticking up all over the place. It was quite difficult to sleep on, and I left the ship with a very stiff back. Our cabin attendant was okay, not exceptional. Dining was the biggest disappointment. The options were not appealing at all. I am more of a 'quality' over 'quantity' eater. Sure, it's great that you can order multiple entrees and leave the dining room feeling like you're going to explode. But I would prefer to have a very tasty, normal size dinner. We weren't able to find that in the dining room, so we ate at the Windjammer the rest of the cruise where at least we could make ourselves a tasty salad, wear what we wanted, and sit at a table for two. The one bright spot in the dining room was our waiter, who was the only genuinely friendly staff member that we encountered on the cruise. Overall the staff was not exceptionally friendly. They did not make eye contact, they did not smile. They were downright rude at some points. I know it must be an exhausting, thankless job. But I am consistently friendly, tip generously, and do not ask for any special attention. The ports of call are Nassau, CocoCay and Key West. Key West was fantastic. We rented bicycles and cruised around at our leisure. Nassau was horrible. Our excursion was cancelled at the last minute which left us scrambling. None of the remaining excursions was interesting to us, so we ended up going it alone. Nassau is NOT a safe place (read about some of the crimes that have been perpetrated against cruise ship passengers) so we were kind of on edge. We looked everywhere for something fun to do but didn't find anything. We found a beach but no one was swimming. Ultimately we just got back on the boat and swam in the pool all day. CocoCay was cancelled. That was the worst disappointment of the whole trip, because it was the port of call we were most looking forward to. I wonder what the percentage of success is with the CocoCay tenders. Perhaps at certain times of the year it would be more fair to passengers to advertise the cruise itinerary as Nassau, Day at Sea, Key West. Because I don't think that Majesty gets into CocoCay very often. The day at sea was dull. We tried everything that was on offer, but the staff just seemed really halfhearted about the activities. Overall, we were quite disappointed and would not recommend this ship or itinerary to anyone. Read Less

I have never written an online review - I work in customer service and know how silly they can sometimes be. However, I need to share my experience about NCL. A friend and I signed up last minute for a 3 night, weekend cruise to the Bahamas for a discounted price. This was my 6th cruise, but first time with Norwegian. From the beginning, all of the staff seemed uninformed and uninterested. We were looking to sign up for the drink packages (hey - it is vacation after all!) and were sent to about 6 different locations. Finally we end up at the sign up table with another set of friends. We follow the instructions, but somehow they ended up putting all 4 drink packages on one persons card. While inconvenient, we figured it'd be easier to deal with amongst ourselves and not involve the cruise line. The trip itself was uneventful and mediocre. The dinner services were reservation only - and in several restaurants. I much prefer the traditional dinner seatings with other travelers. You make friends with others, and often turn into companions for the other activities on the boat. The food was pretty bland, nightlife for two 25 year olds was hard to come by. Again, mediocre trip. Because it was last minute and discounted (celebrating my new job!) I didn't expect much, but thinking Norwegian is a nicer, higher class cruise line, I was prepared to be impressed. I was wrong. After we get off the ship, the nightmare began. I actually left my wallet in the stateroom safe (I know, 100% my fault). I realized this getting into the car right off the boat. I call the lost and found and file a report immediately. I should have turned around and gotten back on the boat - but unfortunately, I did not. I call every day after, spending about 45 minutes to an hour (of course they're only open 9-5) to check on the wallet. Each day they take a completely new report, stating they have no record of my call the day before, and have no answers as to why there isn't already a report when i've spoken to someone multiple days in a row. This continues for about 2 weeks and they finally tell me there "may be" a match, and I need to wait to be contacted by their lost and found coordinator. Each day I call, they repeatedly say they're waiting for the boat to answer the email requesting my wallet. Each day, they promise to call me back with a response. Only until I found a competent employee, Vivian, I received a follow up. For the wallet - all in all, I did get it back, but only after 3 weeks of calls and much wasted time. Now, to the other part. After about 3 days, the pending charges on my credit card filed go through - totaling around $450. I had already mailed my friend a check for the drink package they accidentally put on his card, thought that part was solved - we were wrong. They charged my friend and I for each individual drink we had, and took the drink package off of his credit card (the charges are pending a few days after you get back to land). We stood in line, followed instructions, got the "Ultimate Beverage" stickers on our cards immediately. We thought it was weird, but were going to figure out the cash amongst ourselves. Later the first day - apparently - they attempted to contact our friend (that had the 4 charges) through his cabin phone, but were unable to (obviously - it's a cruise!) When they were unable to, they took the packages away, yet no one told us when we repeatedly used our cards. This issue was part of my 45 minute, daily phone calls, and again, it took weeks to even receive a response. I demanded they charge us the $220 the drink packages should have been, and refund the $450 they actually charged. After 3 weeks of this, the only reprieve they were willing to make was a $100 on board credit - which I will never be using. Between the mediocre service on board, and the atrocious service afterwards, I will never use NCL in my travels again. Read Less

We were very excited about this trip. We were a girl of 11 women for a friend's bachelorette party. When we arrived for check in...what a mess!!! We were in line for over 45 minutes to check in. When we finally got on board, we were very surprise...no one to great you or direct you, no one to take those cheesy pictures as you are boarding the ship...NOTHING!!!!! As we found our own way to our cabins and once inside TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!!!!!!!! The pictures online look like the cabins have been remodeled...not the case at all. The cabins were old, dingy and had a funny scent. The wall lamp shades were broken (and not just in our cabin...most of our friends had broken lamp shades as well). Then came time to check out the bathroom.......G R O S S!!!!!!!!!!!! The bathroom was disgusting...smelled like a hospital bathroom. Had rusty or missing screws all over the place and the shower had black stains on the floor and the door didn't close properly. I ended up taking a shower every night with flip flops in fear I would catch some sort or fungus. After the "safety drill" we decided to tour the ship. We went straight to the pool deck to grab drinks at the bar and take pictures! The pools are small and also quite gross looking, don't know how people get in those?!?!? I would also be afraid of catching something in those. The "elemeto" (as most Cuban moms would say) or for the non Spanish speaking readers, the type of people, around the pool was embarrassing. There were small children and lots of families, and there were half naked women (I'm talking about the smallest bikinis you can imagine) with body parts hanging all over the place. It was just not very classy. The food was mediocre. We ate a 2 of the specialty restaurants. The first night we ate at the Italian restaurant($15 per person) where we had EXCELLENT service but the food wasn't that great. The second night we ate at the steakhouse ($30 per person) where the service was lacking but the food was very good. The third night we decided to eat at one of the main dining rooms...WOW...WHAT TERRIBLE SERVICE. We were treated with bad attitudes by more than one person. Had to ask several times for things because 20 minutes would pass and we hadn't received the coke or water we had originally asked for. The only "club" had terrible music...stuff you hear at really bad clubs in Miami. And definitely don't order water at the club unless it's bottled water...the tap water there tastes like cleaning products. Worth paying the $4.50 for a bottle of water. In conclusion, I would never again go on one this cruise again. For our experience it was extremely over-priced. My friends and I really enjoy travelling, and have no problem staying at nice hotels or doing costly things if they are worth the price. But a almost $500 per person to go on this cruise and have bad service, bad food and dirty rooms...NO THANK YOU!!! I DEFINITELY DO NOT recommend this ship or cruise line at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was anxiously awaiting the Wine and Dine cruise for two reasons: my love of live music and my desire to cruise on NCL again. The live music on the Norwegian Pearl was outstanding. All of the acts (America, World Classic Rockers, Arrival from Sweden, Chris Mann, and Neal McCoy) deserve much kudos for great music and entertainment. On the other side, NCL disappointed at every opportunity, making my journey on the Pearl the worst cruise experience that I have encountered. Starting off from the Port of Miami, passengers had to wait 3 1/2 hours for embarkation. The delay in embarkation stemmed from NCL's inability to get the previous cruise passengers off of the ship on time. Adding more frustration to the situation was the complete lack of communication from NCL staff. None of the passengers knew what was going on or when we would board. The sail away party on board the pool deck came with free wine and beer (paid for in our fees). However, they ran out of red wine in 20 minutes and NCL staff made no attempt to obtain any more red wine. During the cruise, my traveling companion and I ate dinner each night at the main dining rooms. At no time did any of the wait staff ever introduce themselves or ask us about our day, our cruise, etc. In fact, we were greeted several times by wait staff that simply said "Yes?". Undoubtedly the most unfriendly and least helpful wait staff that I have encountered on a cruise ship or in a land-based restaurant. The quality of the food in the main dining rooms was very mediocre and diner quality food. The coffee on board was almost undrinkable as it was a real sludge. Our room was on the fourth floor and we were constantly awakened each morning by banging from the laundry facility nearby. Several of our cabin neighbors also complained about the same such noises. The Pearl has no sports bar, no pubs, no movies inside or out, no food service outside on the pool deck, no ability to view your folio via your tv, no ability to order excursions via your tv, etc. Very limited amenities is what the Pearl is all about. This ship seems lost in time.........it seems much older than it is. Electricity went out on the ship for a few minutes on the last night. Our luggage was placed outside our door on the last night, but it was not picked up by the luggage staff. So, I had to self-disembark even though I had placed my packed luggage outside the door on time............ The NCL staff on the Pearl are out of touch and were not helpful throughout the trip. I give NCL an F for this cruise. I will not ever cruise on NCL ever again. Read Less

We had our first cruise this year on Carnival, really enjoyed it. What I was made to understand is NCL is a more premium cruise line than Carnival, which after my experience is not true. I paid 30% less for carnival compared to NCL for a 3 day cruise. I consider two things as important in a cruise, Food and Entertainment. To keep rooms clean, take you from point A to B is price to play in this business. Food The worst possible food that you can imagine, its never properly cooked, its tasteless and variety is less than what you can get in a cheap chinese buffet. Bread looked like it was a couple of days old, quality of ingredients was cheap and preparation was awful. Staff behind the counters on buffet did not care. I do not blame them as this seems to be a problem from corporate, they have cut way too many corners in the name of cost cutting. Overall, I could not wait to get off ship and eat a decent meal. Entertainment Again a victim of corporate greed and cost cutting. I go back to my comparison with carnival cruise. They would have 2 to 3 shows every evening, NCL had one. Quality of show on carnival was much better. Carnival had late night stand up comedy shows too, nothing like that on NCL sky. Overall, I suggest not wasting time or money on NCL, take carnival or royal, both are much better.   Read Less

My husband and I were very disappointed and unsatisfied with our experience with Royal Caribbean. First, the staff members on the Majesty of the Seas were not friendly, customer oriented, and rude. When my husband or I asked a question, each staff member we interacted with made us feel as if we were bothering them or irritating them. The bartenders forgot our drinks and ignored us on Deck 7. We have cruised several times before with another cruise line and were not treated this way. Only two employees, Clinton and our stateroom attendant were friendly and provided great service to us during our entire 4 day vacation. Second, the Sea Pass card procedure is awful. My husband had an issue with his SeaPass Card every time he swiped his card except to get into the room. We went to 3 different ports during our 4 day cruise and every day he was hassled. We went to guest relations and received at least 4 new cards. The port security knew his name when they saw him. Even up until the last day, he had an issue going through check out process before disembarking. It was such a huge inconvenience! Third, the room service department is beyond horrible. We ordered room service twice during our vacation. First time, we only requested ice and wine glasses. An attendant brought the glasses but didn't bring the ice. She stated she would be right back with the ice. She did not return. The second time, we ordered dinner. We were promised our dinner would arrive no later than 45 minutes. After 1 hour and 1/2 past, Christina at the room service department stated our food was done but had been sitting for a while. She stated she would personally bring the food with water. We waited another 15 minutes before our food finally arrived but no water. She stated again she would be right back with our water. While we waited, we noticed, half of our order was wrong and missing. After 2 hours of dealing with incompetency, we didn't even want to deal with room service any longer. Our whole experience with Royal Caribbean besides the excursions was terrible and would not recommend anyone to cruise with this Cruise Line. Read Less

Don't waste your time or money on this boring ship! We booked a last minute, 4 night cruise with our 11 year old daughter. They stuffed the 3 of us in a cabin so small you could barely move. On the website, it shows a cabin with pull down beds but this isn't what we ended up with at all. Instead, we were given one rock hard bed and a pull out chair for our daughter. She is 5 feet tall and her feet hung off the bed and it also had a hard bar in the middle of the chair so which made it even more uncomfortable. Our bed wasn't any better, we requested a pillow topper 3 times during the day from our cabin steward. We never received it and when we called to ask where it was at 11pm, we were told "maybe tomorrow." The pillows smelled dirty and musty and the if you rolled over in bed, it made a loud creaking sound like it was about to fall apart. The room was so small we had to keep putting our suitcases up on the bed to remove anything from them, since we had to stuff them between the wall and the bed. The room steward never even folded the chair/bed back up during the day so we had to maneuver around it during the day. The buffet wasn't very good, it was more like school cafeteria quality than cruise ship buffet. The serving utensils were so hot we burned our hands several times in the buffet line. Not sure why they would use black utensils and leave them under the hot lights. The lines weren't very organized like they are on other ships, it was like a herd of cattle, and the food was the same day after day. The drinks in the buffet line were some sort of boxed syrup that they kept having to refill. The tea was also some weird boxed tea, not brewed. Dining room service was slow and we had to beg for water and coffee refills. The food in the dining room wasn't much better than the buffet. The steak was thin, overcooked and chewy and the menu had very few changes from night to night. The Las Vegas show was very excellent, the comedian not so much. We did enjoy the private island, it was fun and relaxing. In Nassau, we went with one of the locals we met at the pier. The 5 hour tour of the island was just 30 bucks per person and we had an amazing time. This was our first time on Norwegian and it will be our last. We've been on Disney, Princess, and Carnival multiple times and all of them are so much better than Norwegian. Read Less

We just came off the Norwegian Sky. This was my second time sailing on Norwegian and my last! We were with 10 family members. From the minute we got to the port of Miami until the time we returned. We were waiting for about an hour for a wheel chair for my mother which never arrived. Check in was so unorganized it took forever. My mother ended up walking with her cane all the way onto the ship almost falling numerous times. We finally get onto the 11th floor for the buffet and there was not enough chairs or tables. Now my mother is still walking with us back and forth to find a table. She was so exhausted and I just wanted her to sit down. Finally after a LONG time, my son found us a table but not until after he handed someone in the buffet some money. There was definitely not enough seating for as many people who got on the ship. The food was horrible, maybe there was one or two things that were ok but not much. We had a reservation for 6pm in the Crossings dining room. Dinner took at least 2 hours, the dining room was also very unorganized and they forgot to bring my sister's salad. It was her first cruise so she didn't know to ask about it, she thought it would eventually arrive which it didn't . The food there was not very good either. The rest of the cruise did not get any better. The food on the buffet was the same pretty much everyday. The dining room experience was the same the next night so the 3rd night we tried to change the reservation to the other dining room. The girl there, she had a badge but no uniform whatsoever told my husband to call an extension to make reservation. He called and when he said what he wanted, he heard laughing over the phone and could see the girl who just told him to call the extension and another one laughing behind the counter on the phone. That was very unprofessional. After the first morning on the cruise the buffet ran out of chocolate milk and fruit loops. I have never been on a cruise where they run out of those things. On the 3rd night, we decided to eat at the buffet because the garden buffet was supposed to be a "kids buffet". Well, the only thing my granddaughter would eat was chicken fingers and they were out if them by 8pm. The buffet was from 6:30 to 8:30! They said they didn't have anymore which was ridiculous so my husband went and got the person in charge and they made some for her. It was probably close to 8:30 when we finally got them. Then they had the crepe and ice cream bar, of course they ran out of chocolate ice cream and the crepes were disgusting. The steak in the dining room was so thin and too well done no matter how we asked for it cooked. The 3 stops we made were ok but of course the food on the island was the same as on the boat. Hamburgers, hotdogs and chicken & pizza. EVERYDAY the SAME food! Customer service was horrible, they lied to us on more than one occasion. The rooms were so tiny, we were told there was going to be a little sofa in our cabin as well as the other three but only one room had a sofa. There were a lot of rude staff members on board. We felt like if the ship was sinking, the crew would have gotten off first and left us there to fend for ourselves. The best part of the cruise was our room steward, Maricel Sarimiento. I forgot to mention while on line at the buffet, they wanted to close so they kicked us off the line and took away the food my husband was trying to take and threw it away. Read Less

We were first time cruisers traveling for a wedding with two girls 14 and 8. DISAPPOINTED is an understatement. How do you have the pool closed the entire trip with absolutely no notification or compensation? The food was poor at best. The smell in the buffet that you literally had to walk through to get almost anywhere was overwhelming and made you feel nauseous. The restaurants had more employees than guests but still the absolute worst service. Employee morale must be at an all time low. Employees seemed less than happy and extremely unfriendly and you couldn't find someone that spoke good enough English to understand. The only time employees electively reached out was when they were in your personal space NON-STOP to purchase alcoholic beverages.Communication for first time cruisers was non-existent so we just figured it out every step of the way - still trying to figure out what the ten charges to my credit card are from?!? Can't seem to find anyone who can get me a detailed bill. Oh - and I must have missed the pre-requisite that if you are 12-50 you must wear a thong bathing suit on this family cruise. Don't say I didn't warn you - keep looking before you commit. Read Less

I would first like to start off by saying that I am an experience cruiser on both Royal Caribbean and Carnival. I cruise once a year and I have never had a complaint. This was my first experience cruising with NCL's Norwegian Sky (I was excited) and I can assure you it was my last. From the moment I arrived on your embarkation site the lack of customer service I received was shocking. As I entered I was told that I had to pay a corking fee for the two bottles of champagne my room was carrying on. I read on the NCL site that the fee would only apply to persons who were having the bottle open at dinner or outside their cabin. This was not the case in my situation and I still had to pay 30 dollars for a corking fee. When I asked the lady about what I read on line she rudely cut me off before finishing my sentence and said NO!!!! a cork fee needs to be paid doesn’t matter what you read. No cordial clarification just a final NO... I should have gotten use to that word because it was the magic word of the whole weekend. My first impression was disappointing, but a ray of sunshine smiled upon me with the gentleman that registered us in, funny and personable. Getting onto the ship was normal, but when I tried to drop off a bottle of champagne in my cabin the Head Stewart was extremely obnoxious. I completely understand that the cabin was not ready but I just wanted to drop off a bottle that was weighing done my carry on, the Head Stewart was downright nasty. When I asked him nicely that I just wanted to place the champagne bottle down he rudely repeated that the room was not ready. I didn’t need the room to be ready I was just dropping something off. He also pointed out that they were not responsible if something happen to the bottle. To be truthful that would have been my last concern. On a positive note our cabin Stewart was great(Sage Made) was nice and very helpful when we needed anything. When I proceeded to put the champagne bottle in my cabin I notice a couch and a queen bed, while there were 3 of us staying in one room, I was confused as to where I'd be sleeping. The picture shown on NCL's website was that of two beds and a bunk bed. Nowhere does it show a mini couch. At this point I was upset because I knew how uncomfortable it would be to sleep on a miniature couch. As I storm out of the room I tell my brother that I have had it with the cruise and wanted to go home. Your Head Stewarts look me in the eye and says the following: "You may do as you please if that is what you want" Never in all the time that I have cruised with other lines have I been subjected to such unserviceable behavior . Frist of all the correct response should have been " I am sorry you feel this way, is there anything I can do to help?" not what he said. I do not know who trains your staff but that person needs to be fired. About 45% of the ships employees where rude, unserviceable, and lost. The main reason to cruise is to enjoy yourself with the great service provided but NCL Failed with a capital F here. I wished I'd known that I could decline my gratuities on ship because that would be exactly what I would have done. Only tipping our cabin Stewart. Actually I'd like to request that someone look into this and see how I can get a refund for them since I was treated so poorly. Since the ship was fully booked we couldn’t be changed to a different room so I had to sleep on a couch that was so small that at 5'3 my feet were hanging from the bottom of the bed. This is unacceptable and I can't believe that NCL as a company would provide this sort of accommodation seeing that a couch that size could not possible fit an adult size person. I spent 3 night with a bar under my waist and it was very uncomfortable. I feel cheated because your website mislead me when making my purchase of my cabin. Bags where delivered but one. My brother's bag was not delivered at all. I had to finally go down to guest services to ask what was going on at 7:30 since every time we called we were given a later time as to when the bag would be in the cabin. The bag was sitting in the office with his luggage tag on it with his name and address and yet it never arrived in our room. Cleanliness was also a big problem on the ship. For every 5 plates I picked up one was clean (when dinning in the buffet line). This is completely unsatisfactory. The serving utensils where so hot that it was impossible to serve oneself food without burning your hands. The staff in these area where also neglectful and would talk among themselves ignoring the passengers trying to get their attention. I had to shout excuse me after waiting 8 minutes from them to acknowledge me standing there. I am in total disbelief how terrible your customer service is. I was actually told on Sunday morning that the ship ran out of bagels yet the next morning there were bagels. I don’t understand how you run out and then the next day you have more, it's not like you went to the supermarket to get more. Another example of the lack of customer service you have is when I was ignored for 10 min at an empty bar on the 7th floor, next to the lounge singer, while the lady spoke on the phone this had to be about 8 o’clock. She saw us and totally ignored us. Unacceptable behavior. Food quality was below average. Pizza was always cold and also its not 24 hours like I was told. If you wanted pizza at 10 pm you had to order it through room service paying a service fee of 5 dollars. That is ridiculous. On all other ships its free and 24 hours. I tried having a tuna croissant and the bread was so hard that as I hit it on the table it would not break. In my world that is not edible. I ate at your steak house(paying a 30 dollar fee) and while my food was delicious, there was a hair in the bread and when I asked for a steak knife to eat my steak it never came. Thank god my friend who gave me hers. I can only express how cheated and disgusted I feel after the experience I had on NCL. I do not know who trains your staff but you really need to reeducation them on how to treat all customer with respect, and be more serviceable. While I always graded carnival lowest that title now goes to NCL. The worst experience I've had on a cruise ship hands down   Read Less

So this was my first cruise as well as my 3 children, ever... My husban had been on a cruise many years ago prior to our getting married. We booked the cruise late last year for a reasonable price for a party of five. So I thought. Although I did not expect a huge ship, I was hoping for at least a decent ship that could make me consifer cruising again. Our original booking was for 2 statesrooms, however prior to boarding we received a call from Carnival asking if we would be interested in an upgrade to 2 Jr. Suites.. I have 3 boys; 20, 14, 12. It sounded like a great idea so we went with the upgrade. I must say boarding the ship was pretty easy, no complaints as we had priority due to the upgrade. Once on the ship everything went down hill.... literally. The ship was too small to accommodate the everyone on board ( we were told 2,6000 ppl filled to capacity). There is one pool that was way too small for the many people who wanted to swim... Difinately no room for kids. Adults took over the only pool, many of them who drank way too much Alcohol. My boys who love swimming had not a chance in the there. On the top deck there is a slide, but here is the thing there is no pool underneath the slide. This was UNBELIEVABLE>>>> A SLIDE THAT DOES NOT EXIT TO A POOL.. SERIOUSLY? The game room consisted of 10 game machines at best, all with a hefty price tag to pay. Lunch was the worst; hamburgers, hotdogs, french fries ect.. ( the food was not the best). Lunch time was horrible, long lines and only one area that serve lunch. We arrive a bit late for lunch and was told that lunch time was over. Dinner not the best either, The attendant " Sean" was fantastic as he made sure that our tiny tiny Jr. Suite was clean. Closing - For the amount of money we paid for this cruise I could have done something alot cheaper and better. My kids vowed to never go back. SHAME ON YOU CARNIVAL..... Read Less

To start this i'll tell you a little about me and my family. Me and my wife are in our 20's and my kids are 4 and 6 years old. Im gonna keep this short and sweet because i hate long reviews myself. When we booked this cruise they told us that our kids could do all the activities on the boat and i also provided there height upon booking. When we got on the boat there was no stuff for the kids to do until later in the day. The whole trip the activities on the ship had very short time frames. For example the rock climbing wall was only open from 5-7 at night everyday. Which only one of my kids could do after standing in a 1hr and a half line. The lines were so long everyday because they were only open a short time. The same goes with everything else. Also if you have a little child they cant do the ropes coarse because they dont have a harness to fit your kid. My two girls only weigh 37 pounds each. Also the pools are so small there is no room for your kids to play at all. There was also a slide on the boat like most playgrounds have in them. Which should of been open all day, but was only open 2 hrs a day also. Believe me save your money and go on another ship. This one is a joke for kids and they nickle and dime you everywhere and very understaffed. I usually dont write reviews about stuff but i had too on this because i dont want other families that work hard for there money like i do waste it on this ship. Hope this helps Read Less

As a "seasoned" cruiser with 7 cruises under my belt, I expected a spectacular 4 night quick cruise with our family to kick off the summer with our friends and their kids. There were 8 of us traveling together ... 4 kids (13,10,10,9) and 4 adults. We usually love RCCL ships and the experience with them. THIS SHIP IS TERRIBLE!!!!! Old and rusty, under maintained, inexperienced staff, and chaotic are the words I would use to describe our experience. For starters, the ship boarding was delayed for 4 hours. Once we finally got onto the ship, none of the staff knew what was going on. No food was available. The guy working at Sorrento's pizza was unsure if he should make any more pizzas and had a crowd of at least 75 people standing around. Mandatory Muster drill took 1 hour and 15 minutes. A little boy next to us passed out and busted his face open. Ridiculous! The rooms are dingy and old. The bathrooms are rusty and gross. We stayed in room 5509 and our friend stayed in 5511. The ice cream machine was ALWAYS broken or empty. The 2 "hot tubs" on board were disgusting and did not produce bubbles. The "sports deck" is old and dirty with rusted out ping pong tables. Everything was broken and there was virtually no seating at the sports deck for anyone wanting to relax and watch activities. The public bathrooms were always out of toilet paper. Dinner service was crowed. The food is always good on RCCL. Dining room service was pleasant as expected but not spectacular. The excursion desk sold us tickets to Atlantis waterpark ($438 per family x 2) at 9:45am on the morning of 6/10/14. We took the assigned shuttle and as soon as we got there they closed the park. We came back on board and visited Guest Services, they advised us we would receive 100% of our $$$ back, but had to visit Excursions for the refund. Excursion desk opened several hours later and we presented with our case. Excursion desk told us that they could only refund 20% of our money back because that's what Atlantis is allowing. Whaaaaaat!!!!!???? With boiling blood (we've just spent almost $1k both families on a closed excursion) I demanded all of our $$$ back. They refused to deal with the situation and sent me on my way. We did not want to spend another cent on this boat!!!!! And it was only the 2nd day! The ship's staff is inexperienced and unpolished. In summary, we had a terrible experience with customer service, the ship is old, crusty, and gross. I wrote to RCCL and demanded my $$$ back. We will cruise again with RCCL, however, I would strongly advise anyone looking for a short vacation to look elsewhere. Don't waste your money!   Read Less

First let me say that this is the first negative review I have ever written but could not in good conscience let other cruisers experience the horrible experience of cruising of Norwegian without talking about our experience. There were 7 of us traveling together on this cruise (including my 16 year-old granddaughter, and each of us have said we will NEVER cruise on Norwegian again!! First, our room was extremely small. When I say small, I mean that the bathroom door and the closet door cannot be opened at the same time. Not only that, but in order to get into the bed we either had to crawl in from the bottom of the bed, or turn sideways and shimmy while bumping into the mini fridge or the VERY small mirrored area where you will be expected to do all of your grooming as the bathroom does not have a receptacle for anything other than an electric razor (which is what I was later told was the very faded picture on the receptacle of something that appeared to be anything but an electric razor). Oh, and there is only 1 receptacle for plugging in any other items such as phone chargers, electric tooth brushes, curling irons, etc. . . . I called the number for the room steward several times when I could not figure out why the blowdryer would not work in the bathroom when it had the same weird round plug-in as the "electric razor" receptacle. At this point I thought the blowdryer was the issue and not the receptacle. The steward never answered the phone!! I then called the number for the "stateroom" steward and the phone was answered on the first ring!! I asked the stateroom steward to give a message to our steward that we needed assistance and was told that a steward would be sent to our room. I NEVER saw the room steward that night or the next day, or any day until the 3rd day of our cruise when we happened to see him in the hallway outside of our room. Another thing that I had never experienced on other cruise lines is that our luggage was not delivered to our room until 5:30 p.m. and everyone else in our party who had already received their luggage were waiting on me and my husband to go to the dining room. The food on this ship is terrible!! The buffet had the same items every day that we were on the cruise and the food was nothing compared to other cruise lines that care about what they serve their cruisers. The servers were not friendly or helpful and we often saw the servers standing in line to eat with cruisers. Now the servers in the dining room were nice, but seemed harried when the dining room became half full because they had to serve several tables and we would often have to wait until our food was half eaten to get something like steak sauce or ketchup. The entertainment on the ship was subpar except for a piano player/singer in the Captain Cook bar. We spent time every evening listening to him and were never disappointed. Most of the entertainment was geared for "adult" humor and very suggestive, which I don't mind, but would like to have known as my 16 year-old granddaughter was with us for most of the shows and my daughter or her husband would have to leave the show with her. There were very few activities for kids and the persons facilitating those activities acted as if they had no interest whatsoever in working with children. We have cruised on Carnival several times and always had a great experience! The ships are MUCH cleaner, they have several receptacles that can be used for phones, blowdryers, razors, etc . . . in the rooms and the rooms are much larger and much, much cleaner. Needless to say, we will not be cruising with Norwegian again and after talking with other people on our Norwegian cruise we are not the only people who were more than unhappy with our cruise. What a waste of money.   Read Less

I advised the stateroom attendant of the issue and NOTHING was ever done. Not even a report to get it fixed. The food was tasteless. I was even accused by one of the crew members that i was "stealing the pictures" They accused me of taking pictures of the pictures that was taken by the photographer, when i didn't even have a camera or a cell phone on me. Now i reviewing all my charges that was filed on my credit card and i was charged for the entire mini bar! When i never touched a single item. This was our 5th cruise but first with RC. Last minute getaway for my wife's 50 th burthday We had heard goods things about RC but none of it was true for us. First they got our booking wrong But no one was willing to do anything about the screw up. The interior rooms are so small, it's ridiculous. Our cabin attendant wasn't particularly nice and I saw her be really rude to a young child who asked her a question. (She didn't know I was walking down the hall behind her just by coincidence.) The food was mediocre at best. I have never encountered orange Marsala sauce. The buffet on coco cay was horrible, burnt hamburgers, poorly executed and under staffed. Speaking of staffing, the entire cruise was understaffed. Also don't miss lunch because between 3 and 639 there is nothing to eat except a horrible excuse for pizza and Johnny rockets. We drove 12 hours to try this ship and it was a total waste. If your looking for a quick 3 day cruise the Carnival Sensation is so much better. My wife and I are avid cruisers. We go on 4 or 5 per year. We have not been on Norwegian for many years but had fond memories of the Norway. Where do I start. The crew all seamed unhappy and uninterested in their jobs. I don't know if its because the "freestyle" cruising or what but not alot of happy workers on board. Only a few looked at you and said anything as you passed in hallways or other common areas. Wow..The food was below average soups cold, steaks not cooked to the right temperature. The buffet was rather bland and the choices didn't change from day to day. The slogan around the ship was "Music everywhere" ..The piano bar was a nice gent who was lost in his own little world no interaction with the guests. We spoke to some young folks they said there was nothing for them to do after 9pm. Yikes we agreed, I understand its a small ship but man everything seamed to be closed or it was so vanilla it was empty. The comic was a shining star on the trip. We are not much of the comedian types but he was very entertaining. The room was small but nice. We booked an inside cabin the bathroom was larger than most. Over all the experience was wanting us to jump on a Carnival ship and have fun. The price was fantastic [after rebates and incentives the cruise cost $29 plus port fees] but I still felt the trip had little value. The ports were nice, Nassau, Freeport, and their private island. The wait staff around the pool was very good. The band non engaging and bland. Oh well you get what you pay for. I will stick to Carnival next time. Too bad. Read Less

This was the worst ship I have ever been on. They need to put the old bag out of its misery. The ship is extremely outdated. It needs a complete renovation. This ship equivalates to the Greyhound ships. I feel like I was transported back to the early 90's when I got on this ship. I have gone on many cruises and this was my first time on Royal Caribbean. It was my husbands and I first trip with our family since my daughter was born 5 years ago (so I was sooooo excited to go to the Bahamas). The second I got on the ship and went into my room I swear I immediately became depressed. I was in SHOCK! Everything was old, outdated, the furniture was scratched up and had spots and stains. The bed was in such bad condition they had to bring me a new one (which was no better). I mean seriously even Carnival has spectacular beds. Their beds are so wonderful they intend selling it you by the end of the trip. So OK the room beyond sucked but it didn't stop there. The buffet food was the same everyday and not that great. The dinner was ok but no lobster! The private beach was awful. Who wants to go on a tiny island while 3,000 people get off the ship to inhabit it. The BBQ was not good and not even BBQ. They charge you for anything and everything at the beach. Since this was my first trip as a family and I had brought my grandparents so they could watch my daughter at night. I was excited to sleep in a little in the morning. No sleeping for me. I felt like I was staying n a hospital with the amount of time they woke me up over their PA system (annoying). The casino was old and outdated as well. The shows beyond sucked. No professional show to be seen. The only good thing I will say about this ship is the staff was wonderful and I tipped them well. The staff was very courteous, attentive to our needs and were sweet lovely people. So basically if you have never been on a cruise before you wont mind this ship because you will have nothing to compare it to. Read Less

I have a question..if you go to a restaurant, retail establishment, plane ride, hotel etc, and you are unhappy with their product/service, the give you a refund or try to do whatever they can to make the customer happy in hopes they’ll return with their business and promote their business with positive word of mouth. My family and I were just on the Ecstasy, and due to having to rescue 41 Cubans in a raft, we had to completely miss our port of call to Cozumel, and had to go to Nassau Bahamas instead. I am glad we were able to rescue those in distress, however that being said Carnival should make me as a guest happy and make it up to me some way some how seeing how I did pay to go to Mexico. That being said we paid over $2000 to take a cruise to Mexico and because the Coast Guard couldn’t fit all of the 41 people in distress, our cruise had to turn around on the way from Mexico to bring these people back to Key West, FL. Due to the detour we were unable to go to Mexico. Our cruise ship had to waste time all day Wednesday as a day at sea because Nassau didn’t have room to take us until Thursday. We had to cruise back to Key West, FL almost all the way to Ft. Lauderdale, FL just to make a U turn to go back to Nassau so we could arrive Thursday. Now, if I paid an airline to take me to Las Vegas and the ariline for whatever reason was detoured to say Alabama, the airline doesn’t expect me to just be “ok” with the fact that my paid trip, what I paid for I won’t get. If Carnival would have dropped us off somewhere similar to Mexico, we would have been bummed, but not as bummed. To detour all the way to Nassau Bahamas and expect us to be “ok” that we aren’t getting anything close to what we paid for is not right. We were supposed to have a Mexican Buffet and deck party leaving Mexico Wednesday, they took away the Mexican Buffet and of course sail away party that day, it was literally too cold for the pool all day Wednesday, we had 50 plus mph winds all day Wednesday, which caused decks to close. It felt like we were on a roller coaster all day Wednesday, it was so bad my husband had to be alone all day with our 3 kids due to me being sea sick and couldn’t stop throwing up. We are on a family vacation and Mom can’t even enjoy it. The pool water was literally pouring out of the pool, it was so bad Carnival workers were mopping and using a squeagy to make is safe to walk. We literally only have pictures from Key West, and the few hours we could be in the pool. Our only family vacation we could take this year was not so fun at all. Due to the detour we had to have the same buffet pretty much every day, which was the “American Buffet”. Overall very disappointing. This was not my first Carnival cruise, but will be my last if Carnival only cares about the bottom line..making money. How can Carnival think its ok not to compensate me or anyone who paid for something we didn’t get. How do I know Carnival didn’t make money off me and everyone else gas wise and food wise, seeing how Nassau is a lot closer than Mexico is. They didn’t give us our Mexican buffet and like I said we had all the same food and it was obviously random things they had lying around. Being that the customer, and I know I am not the only one, is not happy, why does Carnival think its ok that we didn’t get what we paid for, nor did we have a good time..that is not right and its not ok. I understand what their contract says, but its about doing whats right, if the customer isn’t completely happy that should be a problem when running a business. A simple "i'm sorry" isn't good enough. An airline for example doesn't expect you to be "ok" if you don't reach your detestation, why is this any different? Being a vegetarian I feel like there weren't many options, and the options overall were bland and plain..even the main dining room food was blah. I understand why we had to turn around, but not getting half of my vacation isn't right when I paid for a full vacation to Mexico. Nassau comes no where close to being the same as Mexico, not to mention I've been to Nassau 2 times before, the only reason we chose this cruise was because of Mexico being a destination. Carnival has offered ZERO refund of any kind or ZERO credit towards another Mexico cruise. Read Less
