We chose Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas because of its size, we had a 7 day Western Caribbean cruise, one thing that I have notice on our first port at Nassau, Bahamas was the weather, there was a slight drizzle of rain during the first 4 hours after the ship has docked, we booked an excursion for the Atlantis paradise resort in Bahamas through the RCI website, we were gathered at the Amber theater and an announcement was made by the tour excursion organizer of the RCI that some parts of the Atlantis Resort will be closed to guests and we were provided an option to either cancel and be refunded of our booking or we can proceed despite of the inclement weather, the rest of the port destination was excellent because it was all sunny. There are a lot of fun activities on the ship especially if it is cruising and at the sea all day, it was a good thing that we chose an interior stateroom, because we would just visit our room during nap time, most of the time we were outside of our cabin room, I would suggest to book a reservation for the my time dining, otherwise you would end up queuing during dinner at the main dining room, service were all excellent for our stateroom attendant Ashton and to our waiters for the dining room Sanket and Micky, & Tony the trio were all Indian National and Ramil a Philippine national, we ended up sharing a small amount of gratuities for those guys for their excellent service despite the fact that gratuities was all inclusive on our cruise package, ports and excursion were smooth and easy, we have just waited maybe at least 10 mins after the ship has docked and we went all the way to explore every port. We are a family and 3 grown-up kids with party of 5. Overall, we would love to booked our next cruise with Royal Caribbean for a Mediterranean cruise for a 7 or 8 days cruise. Read Less

After looking into many questions before I leave for the cruise, I feel compelled to share my first cruise with our friends. After much deliberation we decided that some of the 50th birthday celebrations would be Cruise (for the first time). The date of the cruise was determined following family constraints for the Passover holiday of 2019 in April. Since this is the first time we make a cruise and after a thorough examination it was decided to go on one of the best - a large ship of Royal Caribbean. As stated, there were time constraints and therefore the cruise was chosen with the Allure Of The Seas, https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-sh…/allure-of-the-seas, Western Caribbean track, 7 nights with 4 anchors in NASSAU- BAHAMAS, COZUMEL-MEXICO, ROATAN-HONDURAS, PUERTO COSTA MAYA-MEXICO and 2 DAYS ONLY, Departure from Miami. Now it was left to choose which agency would invite the cruise. There are many opinions whether to order through an Israeli agency or through a foreign agency. After a thorough and thorough examination, I found out that the company Crozit, https://www.cruiseit.co.il/, with the agent Orit Cohen Rochov gave the best offer. As I mentioned, it was decided to order with a minimum risk and therefore the room with balcony to the ocean, on the 11th floor in the center of the ship (room number 11590 D2). The room is spacious enough, a double bed and a sofa bed, a shower with excellent water flow and a balcony facing the sea, television, storage closet, 110 and 220 volts power sockets. It is difficult to describe in words the experience of sitting on the balcony while sailing and sleeping with an open window and hearing the waves coming back - an experience! The ship is huge, really a floating hotel. Many different types of rooms, countless dining rooms, restaurants, cafes, 2 promenades with vegetation, casino, swimming pools, Jacuzzi, climbing wall, Omega, surfing and more. 2 notable restaurants for light meals: 1. Park Caffe - Salads, sandwiches, cakes and flag sandwich with roast beef 2. The pizza restaurant The ship has a wide range of performances, including Mamma Mia, acrobatic show with oceanAria, Ice Ice show, Blue Planet, Headliner Showtime and more. About 60-90 days before the cruise, the possibility of planning the cruise is open on the Royal Caribbean site, ordering an hour for dinner (17.30, 20.00 or "on my own time"), ordering the various shows on the ship and booking excursions at the ports. For convenience and schedule of performances we chose the time 20.00, we got a regular table in the dining room on the 5th floor and regular waiters. In accordance with our needs, we purchased in advance and at a discounted price Classic Soda Package, which includes soft drinks and cola and an internet package VOOM Surf + STREAM Voyage Package - 1 Device Additional alcoholic beverages, coffee, shakes and more can be purchased. It is also possible to purchase a 10-cup card or a 10-alcoholic card. Each room has the option of bringing 12 bottles of 17 oz and 2 bottles of wine to the ship. In the boat, at various meals, you will be served free glasses of water and juices. The ship anchored at the port of Miami in Terminal 1 of Royal Caribbean, we reached the port of the car rental agency in the city and left the port to the airport on a trip with uber. The check-in and check-out of the ship is carried out with remarkable efficiency with no queue and speed. The attractions we did at our ports were: NASSAU-BAHAMAS - taxi ride ($ 10 toward) Cabbage Beach on the island island Paradise Island, a beach with soft white sand and good water for bathing. You can rent 2 sunbeds + umbrella for $ 20, and there are street vendors selling drinks. You can walk to the beach of the luxurious Atlantis Bahamas and even enter the hotel grounds and be impressed by it. COZUMEL-MEXICO - A fun day of sailing to spectacular blue lagoons and dive snorkeling, booked through http://cozumelcruiseexcursions.net/cozumel-snorkel-tour-res…, at a cost of $ 50 per participant. ROATAN-HONDURAS - We booked a day trip to the island with a local operator named Francklin Gálvez, francklinalexisgalvezbonilla1@gmail.com, a nice guy who tries very hard to please the guests he accompanies. Franklin charges $ 20 per participant for a full day of pick-up and return from / to port and travel according to an agreed plan. ($ 10) Visit the Chocolate and Fun Factory at the stunning beach of West Bay Beach (one of the resorts, plus sun beds + umbrella $ 15) PUERTO COSTA MAYA-MEXICO - We ordered a $ 50 golf car from MAYAHUAL Local Golf Car, https://costa-maya-golf-cars.negocio.site/, marvin1907@yahoo.com.mx and drove to the beaches of the nearby village of MAYAHUAL Docking Port . In retrospect it is unnecessary and you can reach this coastal strip with a local taxi. The coast of the Costa Maya disappointed. Hope this summary will help others. I'll be happy to answer any question. Yaari Read Less

We were a group of five travelers. My husband and I and adult children. The Ship: Beautiful but starting to need some updating. Furniture in common areas is starting to age. Cabin: We had a Central Park Balcony. The location was great. Our A/C didn't work very well. We called and it was fixed and then worked fine. Excursions: Four of us signed up for an excursion with RCCL. The excursion was described as eight hours with six hours of travel time. I figured that meant two hours at our destination. We received notice that we would only have 30-45 minutes at our destination in a note attached to our excursion tickets. One of our group that stayed back told us that RCCL put our group on the last ferry to leave headed for Playa Del Carmen. RCCL needs to take a look at logistics and prioritize to accommodate participants of lengthy excursions. We ended up with about an hour at our destination because the tour company did a great job, but RCCL dropped the ball on this. I'm glad the ship went to Costa Maya, which we love. Get away from the port (tourist trap) and take a taxi to town. It is my happy place. We took a private tour to a resort/beach in Roatan and didn't leave the ship in Nassau. Food/Drinks: The food is fine, but not as good as in years past. Gone are the free tastings before heading to dinner. I also wish there were more venues included, I'm tired of having to pay extra for every little thing. We did have one specialty lunch at Sabor and it was fabulous. We bought the premium drink package and I wouldn't buy it again. I felt obligated to drink a lot more than I normally do to take advantage of the unlimited drinks. Also, with four port days (although we stayed on the ship during one) and having a lot of activities planned, it was hard to get our money's worth. Entertainment: Excellent!!!! We saw all of the shows and they were very good with one exception being one of the Headliners, however, that is personal preference as I overheard many people had liked it so I won't mention the entertainer. Service: We had excellent service from all staff members we encountered. Internet: We didn't buy internet service. Using the internet cafe to check in for our flight cost us $10.00 for one hour of use. There are no more pay by the minute options. Overall: In an attempt to making cruising for everyone and create bigger ships with more activities, some of us long time cruisers are left behind. I miss the ShipShape program (I think that was the name) events where you collected bucks by doing activities and earned RCCL swag. I miss getting a gift when I cruise as a thanks for being loyal, but overall, cruising is still a great way to travel. We didn't use the gym or the spa. I noticed many of the group exercises classes in the gym have a fee. We picked this cruise mostly for the great itinerary. Read Less

We are a family of 3-mother in her 50's and 2 adult daughters in their 20's. This was our 17th cruise-I believe our 4th on RC. Overall the Allure was the best vessel we have sailed on. It has a magnificent design with lots of light and interesting open areas. Our favorite locale was Central Park on deck 8. That being said, our experience on this ship was average. Most staff interactions were average to below average. The general demeanor of the staff seemed to be indifference and at times unpleasant. Notable exceptions included our assistant waiter on Deck 4 Neeraj-who consistently aimed to please with great effectiveness and who sincerely contributed to our dining pleasure, and our Stateroom attendant for cabin 6196: Pande-who was very amiable and extremely hard working. Many staff seemed to be helpful in a begrudging way. Staff morale seemed fair at best, perhaps they are under too much strain from the sheer size of the passenger load. THe food was average overall. We did the 3 evening specialty dining package at the sushi restaurant and Park 150 (twice). THe food was excellent in both of these venues. However, in Park 150 the service-while obviously well intended and pleasant was extremely disorganized and slow. We waited over one hour to order our dinner at Park 150-this was excessive-despite the pleasing nature of all the servers. We enjoyed the jogging deck on 5 and the spacious outdoor ares on Decks 14 and 15. On only one occasion did we find it difficult to locate 3 available pool chairs. We enjoyed the DIamond Lounge-most evenings and found the atmosphere to be quite pleasant. We had an ocean facing cabin-which was well designed Read Less

The Allure of the Seas is unreal! I traveled with a group of 31 ladies and had an absolute blast. This ship’s size is mind-blowing, and the amenities, service, and activities were top notch! Although we weren’t able to take advantage of all the dining & bar options, we were very pleased with the food & drinks where we did. We thoroughly enjoyed the shows on board, particularly the OceanAria show in the Aquatheatre and the Blue Planet show in the Amber Thestre. The ports were great even though I’d previously been to all but Nassau, Bahamas. It was wonderful to be able to soak in the large hot tub late at night before bed. The Dreamworks parade was a very fun surprise, and I danced to my heart’s content at the various themed dance parties on the Promenade. I would highly recommend this ship for a super fun and action-packed vacation, but it can also be very relaxing as well. It’s all up to you how you want to pass your time on board. Read Less

We have been avid RCL cruise customers for years, but I am not so sure that will continue into the future. We selected this cruise as a birthday trip for my daughter, The ship looked great and this would be our first Oasis Class ship, well the ship is beautiful but the crew is Rude!!!!!!! . the room stewart was the works we have ever encountered, the restaurant wait team was not interested in providing even basic service. Oh my god was the champagne bar bartenders are unprofessional, they spent most of their time making fun of the customers. I stormed out after they started making pig noises at a overweight lady customer behind her back, and I must admit that several of the passengers were enjoying their antics RCL keep preaching to wash your hands but, we constantly found the public bathroom soap dispenser empty, and the bathrooms were disgusting. We also elected to get the Key program. the internet was worth it but the rest was a waste of money. No priority embankment, but they said there would be, we were looking forward to not carrying around our checked bags, but with how efficient RCL has become with the boarding process it just wasn't needed since our cabin was ready early. The one item i was excited about was the privet time with the zip line, rock wall and flow rider. well don't get to worked up, all of the private time is extremely early in the morning or during dinner. and there are not the many times included. The first night when the bags were dropped off they just dropped them anywhere in the hall, not by your stateroom but anywhere there was space, well we got to meet all of our neighbors waking up and down the hall looking for bags. Hey her is one we would yell out, then the nice ladies down the hall would yell back, do you see ours??? Nope. the question, So is auto tipping leading to less service? Read Less

We chose this cruise because our son wanted a BIG ship and we wanted a nice Caribbean Cruise! We actually booked this later than we normally would, but we decided to take advantage of our son's college break. We know these family vacations will become further apart as he gets older. That aside, my husband & I took our college age son and his best friend on this cruise. First, this was the first cruise that Royal Caribbean enacted the KEY program. I accidentally found it while going over the excursions we had booked a few months before leaving. If you are not familiar with the Key program, it's a program that you pay for to get extra benefits. Like being one of the first on the ship, with a delicious lunch at Champs Grill on day one. So while we got to board early, we had a fantastic time roaming around the almost deserted ship and had this great lunch. We also got special seating at all the entertainment, free upgraded Wi Fi and we passed up the lines while being escorted off the ship. Easy! We were told that out of the 63000 passengers on board, there was only 300 key programs sold. I hope it is a program that they keep around! There are no words to describe this ship. There is so much to do on board, for all ages, that you almost don't want to get off at ports! The ship is lovely. Central park both day and night is amazing. It really does feel like a walk in the park and you totally forget your out at sea! Feel like cotton candy or ice cream? Stroll on up to the board walk neighborhood. The Merry Go Round is something, and there are games for the littles that are there. Also on that deck is the Aqua theater. What an AMAZING show. All the entertainment was top of the line! We saw the show Mama Mia! and there really were guest dancing along! It was great! All of the entertainment was wonderful! We had an ocean view balcony which was quite lovely! We booked the boys into a balcony over looking Central Park. They sat on that balcony and watched the character parade. Even though their balcony was basically an interior one, there was no noise coming into the room when they had the door shut. Both rooms were very clean. The bathrooms seemed a bit smaller then we had expected, but that could be because everything else seemed so over the top! Our room was down the hall from our son's room, so we had different stewards. I m very impressed that the steward for the boys room came and introduced himself. Both cabin stewards were wonderful and attentive. The ports are fine. We actually have been to most of them before, so we just stayed on board and enjoyed the ship. The FOOD! Everywhere is food! We did the breakfast buffet in the morning. Lunch we went to the cafe's in Central Park and we had dinner every night in the main dining room. Carlos, our head waiter was fantastic. He went out of his way to suggest something, or get things that weren't listed on the menu. The boys loved the late night availability of pizza. What most 20 year olds would love. We really enjoyed the attention we received on this cruise. We have been on Royal Caribbean before and it was nice. This was awesome! My husband & I relaxed and enjoyed the pool, bar, spa & casino. The boys loved the ports, food and things like rock climbing, ice skating & zip lining. This cruise is perfect for families. A multi generation family cruise! Read Less

We chose this ship because we wanted to experience ship this big. But mainly it has been dissapointment. Stateroom was Ok, we had an oceanview balcony. We ate our breakfast and lunch mainly in Windjammer, and the service was not good, tables were not cleaned very fast. There was enough people doing that but to me it seemed that they did not know what they were supposed to do. Dinner we ate at Amerikan Icon Grill and service varied a lot. For example having coffee were asked 2-3 times but no-one actually brought the coffee. Worst things in the ship were the constant selling of something and music at the pool area. I hate the selling, selling, selling... even in the dinner table the head waiter came to sell the tour to the kitchen. The promenade was like cheap market place. Then the music at the pool. Why does it have to be so loud that you can’t hear your own thougts let alone concentrate reading a book. I know there are areas that are more quiet but my kids were at the pool too and I wanted to be available to them. People were also holding the pool chairs by placing their bags or huge Coke mugs to the chair next to them as if it would be taken. These were mostly Americans. We took western Carribean cruise and most excursions were poorly organized. For example the excursion to Chizhen Itza. When we booked that, it said that it takes 6h but in reality the travelling time was 6h and then 1hour in the ruins. Furthermore the gathering at the pier was a mess so the whole trip took us 9h without food, just a small packed lunch. Also the other excursion in Mexico, beach break was huge dissapointment. Small, small beach where you could not swim because the water was so dirty. Toilets were in seacontainers, drinks available for free but no food. We did not participate the dolphin swim excursions but serioiusly, who does that and why they are still available. For example in Costa Maya the dolphins were in small pool and people actually wanted to go swim with them... to the same place where the cruise ships were docked. In all other parts of the world keeping dolphins in a pools is considered unethical but cruiselines supports this kind of action. All and all this Christmas cruise was dissapointment. Read Less

We wanted to celebrate our 55 anniversary with my daughter, her husband and two teen age boys. We took three cabins on the same floor and were able to have dinner together every night. The service on the ship was outstanding. The staff was cheerful and helpful. Our room stewardess was funny and hard working. Tess could not do enough for us. The servers we had in every restaurant, whether specialty or buffet style were professional, polite and efficient. We only used the ship's excursions in two ports since we are very familiar with the places we stopped. Our grandchildren were very happy with the choices. Being teenagers, they liked the freedom to roam the ship and choose their activities. The food, for the most part was better than we expected, although the steaks and "prime rib" were not up to the rest. The furniture in the dining rooms shows their aging and needs replacement. Chairs have slits and cracks in the seats and the stuffing is coming out. The shows were fabulous and we had no problems getting seats even though the ship was at capacity. There was one negative. I had an UL approved surge protected extension cord because the cabin did not have enough outlets for us to recharge our phones, watches, Kindles and Ipads. The ship confiscated the cord and did not return it until we disembarked. I have used that same cord on a number of other cruises including 2 with Celebrity and Regent, Oceania and Viking. Read Less

This ship is fantastic. It has everything you could ever want. The accommodations were very nice, the crew was always friendly and helpful, and the food was phenomenal. We were traveling in a group of 15, from ages 16-75. There was something for everyone! We love the early seating dining, as we were able to sit together, and had the same fantastic waiters each night. All the shows were fabulous - we each had out favorites. (Mine was Blue Planet) My son asked to use a conference room for a family presentation, and they were very accommodating. The room was well equipped, and we enjoyed the evening. We booked all our own excursions with on-site companies, and had a great time at each port. I like the on-site excursions, as they are less expensive, you see more off the beaten path, and they are much small groups. My only complaint was the spa. It was a HORRIBLE experience. I booked a mother-daughter massage with my 16 year old daughter. My masseuse spent the first half of the massage telling me about all the things wrong with my body, and spent 10 minutes after the massage pressuring me into buying products I didn't need. I was more stressed when I left than when I went in! I would NEVER book a massage on a Royal Caribbean ship again. Read Less

We had several big hiccups on this cruise. Firstly when we made the final payment for our room the RC agent changed our room somehow in the computer from a six person balcony room to an ocean view. We were quite upset when we got on board and it took some time to find out what happened but guest services finally figured it out and they gave us a credit towards our next cruise. I have to commend guest services. They were beyond amazing and went above and beyond to help out. I want to give a shoutout to Ligia, Jenny, and Claudia at guest services they were awesome. The next disappointment was our excursion we were really” looking forward to in Roatan was cancelled. (3 snorkel stop). There was no other choices for a snorkel only tour. We ended up doing one that had a beach and snorkel. They put us on a terrible old school bus that kept breaking down. Then the beach was not nice at all. We complained to the excursion desk and they refunded us most of our money which I was really glad about. I have to say the staff overall was amazing on the Allure. We are vegetarian and I have many food allergies. The dining room staff went out of their way to make sure we had amazing food every night. The food was overall superb on the Allure. There were several new gameshows that we really enjoyed and we also enjoyed the 50’s and 60’s night which was a little different this time. Some of the cruise director staff I have to mention as they were amazing, Flavio from Brazil and Japan, Claudio from Brazil, Fernanda from Mexico, Roz from Romania and (I am going to spell this one wrong probably) Ohana from Romania and I can’t forget Clemente from France. They were all super fun. We were a bit disappointed in Jimmy the cruise director. We felt like he was not around and involved as much as the other cruise directors we have had on RC. When he was there he was fun but we felt like he was just absent for half the cruise. They had a lot of great Trivia which we loved. The flash mob was awesome as usual. They had the Find the Nations Scavenger Hunt which is always a lot of fun because you get to know so many staff due to this game. One other complaint RC has reduced the size of their pina colada glasses. Why RC? Why? Overall we had a good cruise. We were super happy about the new gameshows and activities as much as we love the classics (The Quest which is our favorite and Love and Marriage, sexiest man competition) it was fun having some new ones like Miss Congeniality, Lip Sync contest, and the Perfect Couple. They were all super fun. Can’t wait for our next Royal Caribbean cruise!!!! Read Less

Went on this cruise with my fiancé and his parents and my mom. Wanted to be on the largest class as it was my in-laws-to-be first cruise and I wanted to show off as much as possible. We stayed in Miami (Coconut Grove) for 2 nights before departure to explore Little Havana, Vizcaya and Miami beach. RCCL’s Terminal A in Port of Miami was amazing. The most seamless embarkation and disembarkation I’ve ever experienced. Top marks for that. We overall enjoyed our time. Sea days were spoiled a bit by wind and clouds on both days. Ports of call were all excellent days. Service onboard we loved was primarily the dining staff (My Time and Sabor). The bar service wasn’t great. They seem unenthusiastic and like they don’t want your patronage. Stateroom attendants were OK but also seemed to have a bit of a chip on their shoulders despite us being nice and friendly to them. My biggest revelation this cruise was that private tour operators for shore excursions are viable options and the one we did in Roatan was far superior to the other tours we have done through RCCL. There are just too many lines and too much waiting involved with RCCL tours. No reason we need to arrive in a staging area for a tour 45 min early. Entertainment on board was great - Mamma Mia was excellent. Comedy show and aqua show also very very good. As I said - overall good experience and would definitely go on this ship again. Read Less

We chose the Allure for our first family cruise due to the wide variety of entertainments and facilities for both adults and teenagers. We weren't disappointed as everyone in our group had a fantastic time. The teenagers met a brilliant group of peers and have stayed in touch since we returned to the UK. The adults had a great time at all the shows and in the bars and restaurants. None of us could fault the food, drinks or service at any time in our trip. Our interconnected sea view balcony staterooms were well appointed and serviced promptly at all times (well done Lobo!). The embarkation and disembarkation processes were uncomplicated and pretty efficient given the vast numbers of guests being processed. The only criticism we would have (and one that will stop us repeating this type of cruise) is that we were very disappointed in the ports of call. Although Nassau was 'ok' in that we could wander around town on our own and see some of the locality, the remaining ports were all dedicated to extracting as many dollars from cruisers pockets as possible. We ended up buying an expensive excursion to a beach club on Roatan just to get away from the incessant hassling that we experienced at Cozumel and Costa Maya. Read Less

So I’m going to break this down into sections starting from the beginning. We are a family of four with twin 23-month-old toddlers. We also traveled with the grandparents (80’s). We have been on several cruises, but this is the first with Royal. We booked a suite, so embarkation was a breeze through the suite lounge. The Miami port is beautiful and unloading our luggage was easy! You just drive into the parking garage and go to floor 3. The porters take your luggage and off you go to find parking. We went at 10 and it wasn’t too crowded. Once we got on board, it is a lot to take in. It’s a beautiful ship with so much to see. You enter into a promenade that has a bar, pizza parlor, other restaurants, and shopping. It really is stunning. We proceeded to floor 14 where the Royal Babies and Tots were located. We were allowed to book 16 hours initially. There is just one main play room with a tv and toys. The ladies are very nice there and the kids enjoyed their time. After day 3, they opened up additional hours. They are open for port days and go through til midnight. It is $6 an hour before 6 and then $8 an hour after 6. They give you a phone so they can reach you or you can call. It doesn’t work off of the ship though. There is a wonderful play area for the kids from 10-9 every day. You can also check out toys to take back to the room. There was only a night or two that we weren’t able to get time. We went and had pizza for lunch, which was actually pretty good. The cafe had sandwiches available also. The bar was easy to get to and we used our paper pass for drinks. The cards are on the door when the rooms are ready. At 1 o’clock we went to our room. I thought the rooms would be a little more modern, but they were a little run down. The ac didn’t work in the room and we had to wait for someone to come and fix it. Our room steward was so nice and very accommodating. We tipped him extra at the beginning, middle and end since our boys made quite the mess. We didn’t get our pack n plays until late in the evening and one was broken. So we had to wait into the evening and had to call several times to get a replacement. The boys were unable to nap so we had a pretty miserable afternoon and evening. We had a problem in that we didn’t get our in room purchases until 3-4 days into the cruise. We had ordered champagne, chocolates and other items that took several days to get and then it was also wrong. So it took quite a while to get that situated. We went to the dining room the second night. It took them 15 minutes to seat us and then we had to stand in the middle of the dining room because the individual that was supposed to seat us left us standing there because he didn’t know what table to take us to. Then we had to wait for a high chairs. It was a huge mess. We had wonderful service once we sat down and had a very nice meal. The dining room staff is hit and miss. We were able to dine three of the seven nights. The staff was also hit and miss. Some were wonderful, while others were very abrupt and didn’t smile at all. The food was better than average. The portions depend on the meal. The prime rib was huge and the lobster tails were very delicious. The desserts were also yummy. We doin that people wore whatever they wanted in the dining room. We even saw sweat pants on formal night. Which we personally dressed up because you’re cruising and it’s fun! We did dine at the Brazilian steak house and really enjoyed the food and the service. The service was really exceptional here and worth the price we paid. The food was hot and delicious. The roast beef sandwich at Park Cafe was everything we read about. Really delicious and the salads were good too! We definitely spent a lot of time at Park Cafe. The Dog house was a good pit stop for a delicious dog! I was disappointed that all of the food areas closed at 6. The buffet area was small so it was always hard to find a table at night. The food was pretty good at the buffet with lots of options. Again, the staff wasn’t very friendly. Finding high chairs was a bit of a challenge as well. The amenities on board are wonderful. There are plenty of pools. Although the kids pool area was sub par. The fountains were rarely on so the kids got bored easily. They do have life jackets on board for kids of all sizes. You can use them free of charge. We tried all of the onboard activities and we were quite happy with them. The golf is fun and they even have small clubs for toddlers. The Flow Rider is oodles of fun!!!! We even ice skated. There are limited amounts of time slots, but we never had any issues getting some ice time. There were plenty of areas for the kids to run off energy. We brought sweaters, but I would say that a majority of the ship was on the warm side. I never used my sweater on the ship or the dining room. On past cruises, I was freezing! If you are a poker player, then you’ll have table time every night with limited wait times. The slots are super tight. Super super super tight. There are plenty of black jack tables, craps and some other table games. The spa was wonderful and I really enjoyed my massage. Although I did pay for the additional time and didn’t receive it. So I paid for an additional 20 minutes that I never got. The massage was started late and I know what time we started because I texted my husband right before we began. So not too pleased about that. The upselling is rampant and so is the product push. We both had beverage packages so never had to worry about drinks. I would definitely recommend buying it precruise on discount. It is not discounted onboard. All of the drinks are delicious and they are not skimpy with alcohol. We did several excursions. The boys went to RB&Ts while we went ashore. The Secret River was amazing! We highly recommend it. The WiFi was a bit sketchy and I definitely couldn’t stream movies. It was good enough to text and to google. The app was really great. We could see all of the dining, activities and communicate with other people onboard through the app. The shows that we managed to catch were really well done. The comedians, not so much. We did have fun at the onboard games. They had movies every night wth lots of options and family friendly options. There are so many onboard activities! The kids had fun at all of the Dreamwork events with the animals. The parades are a lot action and happen on a regular basis. It’s really great and quite the event. We also did the DreamWorks breakfast. Although for a child event they didn’t have high chairs readily available. We had to stand around while they found us a table...again. It wouldn’t have been bad had it been at the entry but we were left standing in the middle of the dining room next to other seated guests giving us stares. For $10 a person it was ok. There are 3 different characters that come around for a picture about mid way through breakfast. We also did portraits in the Picture This studio. The photographer was super nice and our portraits turned out amazing. Expensive, but amazing! We pre-purchased the photo package, so we took advantage of that and had about 60 total pictures at all of the different photo stations. The concierge was lack luster. We called several times and we were told to go to guest services or our message was never returned. We did go to the suite lounge and they are pretty strict about children being well behaved as well as the dress code. We did not get to Coastal Kitchen this trip. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves because we didn’t let all of the inconveniences mess up our vacation. We did book another cruise, which we were super disappointed in the NextCruise office experience. Luckily, we have a travel agent so we got the onboard credit from the NextCruise office. We booked on a smaller ship with the hopes that maybe they would have a more personable experience. The staff was either super friendly or grumpy on Allure. There didn’t seem to be an in between. I would say that if you’re a couple with no kids, it’s probably a different experience. If you have super young kids, the options are much more limited. I would say if you have kids below the age of 3, save your money. A - Activities A - Royal Babies & Tots B+ - Food quality - dining room is ok, other venues are much better A - Embarkation/Debarkation A - Entertainment C/D - Friendliness of staff D - NextCruise office B - Food options, close too early C - Guest services - always long lines A - Room steward B - Wifi D - Casino - super tight slots and super Smokey but lots of fun (A for fun) A - Photo studio F - Upsellling is rampant and there’s always someone pushing something Read Less

We chose because we are crown and anchor members and were sailing with family and wanted these first timers to experience the great shows and mega ship As far as embarkation went it was fast and smooth as is with all our Royal Caribbean sailings, but the new terminal in Miami with facial recognition there were six of us and I was the only one that sailed through the new machines, the other five had to get into an extremely long and slow line, this caused usmt miss our shuttle to Ft Lauderdale so we had an hour to wait for the next! My husband was in a wheelchair and the rest of us stood waiting there are a few benches up against the wall of the terminal but with over six thousand passengers you can imagine no seats were available. We Enjoy Royal Caribbean but the dining experience has not been good on this cruise! Entertainment was very good! We sailed on the Oasis five years ago and thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience! One crew member was a complete waste of time in the dining room but the cruise director and his staff were fantastic .....and the rest of dining room crew were more than good! Our stateroom attendant Anne went above and beyond! The food in thnmain dining room was just acceptable there were no wow moments! Chops grill filet mignon was the one highlight for dining pleasure We have a cruise booked for the Spring and hopefully we will regain our enjoyment on that cruise. Our family felt the same which unfortunately made it a bit disappointing for first time cruisers think their expectations were high based on our previous experience. We will still recommend Royal Caribbean our motto can't be perfect all the time Read Less

We chose this cruise due to our parties schedules around the end of the year. This is the 3rd time we've cruised the Allure and each time gets better. We booked 5 of us into a Royal Family Suite with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. This gave us the sky class. For those who have never experienced a suite class if you enjoy cruising try it at least once. You won't go back. Everyone on the ship was friendly and accommodating. We didn't eat in the Windjammer or the MDR; instead we booked 4 night specialty dining and dined the remaining nights in the Coastal Kitchen. We did not experience a bad or even disappointing experience anywhere. If there was any issue it was the pool was very cold. Of course we were cruising in late November so that was expected. Terminal A during embarkation was a breeze. Less than 10 minutes from shuttle to the ship. We arrived 1/2 hour after the rooms were available so we went right there and settled in. Luggage arrived just a couple of hours later Debarkation was a breeze too. The porters (and unfortunately the dispatcher from the shuttle service need to be better trained. There was no signage for the shuttle areas and it was very confusing. The dispatcher (from JetPort parking) kept stating we should go to area 7-8 but that was for private cars. The only areas that were actually marked was for buses. Read Less

Embarkation was so much better at Terminal A than in other terminals. We were handled very quickly and our rooms were ready when we boarded at 11:30. We had our luggage within an hour or two. We had a family reunion for 35 of us. Those that had children enjoyed the vast array of activities and restaurants. Older members enjoyed the shows and restaurants, especially Giovannis Table and Chops. Sabor had very good food but service was lousy. We loved Central Park away from the hustle and bustle of the ship which was overwhelming at times. Service was excellent for the most part. Our cabin attendant was wonderful. Main dining was very good and service there was excellent also. Service in the brew and pub was non-existent. We did not like our cabin at all. It was very small, although a 2C, there was only one plug in the entire cabin, NONE in the bathroom, which was tiny. Very little storage as well. Read Less

I first sailed the allure back in 2015 and had a 5 star trip. This time I say 3 stars but the dynamic was different because we were traveling with a 15 month old and it was our second time on the ship so the newness of the magnificentance of the ship had worn off a bit. My biggest complaint this time around was it seemed liked the times of activities were really limited. Since we have done a lot of the ports so many times we wanted to just stay on the ship and enjoy it during most port days. To our surprise there was very little to do during port days. All activities and restaurants (except the windjammer) were not open until 3:00-4:00. We only had 2 sea days so we’re expected to cram it all in on those days which was really possible because everything was so crowded. The royal sea tots program also failed us. Our daughter just wasn’t happy there so we had to pick her up after about an hour each visit. The staff in the nursery were doing there best, but the nursery room itself was very empty, boring and nothing to keep them entertained. There was an open play area that parents could bring their kids and that was awesome. My daughter could have stayed there all day had that been the nursery. For a ship as big as the allure I would have expected more. I also had a 5 and 7 year old niece and nephew that tried out the kids program for their age and they simply didn’t like it and cried when they had to go back. The rooms they were in very also very dull and boring. Another thing I had never noticed until traveling with a toddler is you really can’t eat whenever you want. Unless you wanted pizza I found I having to frequently wait for the windjammer to open. On a positive note, I was pleased with the cleanliness of everything on the ship, our stateroom attendant was top notch , and the overall service on the ship was great. The ship was still beautiful and we enjoyed strolling Central Park and the boardwalk and promenade each day. The cabin also seemed smaller then on other ships I have sailed. Read Less

We booked this cruise as a 60th birthday celebration for two of us and for our friends 51st wedding anniversary celebration. The Allure of the Sea, is a beautiful upper end cruise ship, with lots of variety in shops like that of Michael Kors,Prince Green and other more sophisticated taste in shops. A floor level with a variety in casino's and poker championships with smoking allowed. Cabins were spacious and well attended. Our cabin had a lavender scent which was soothing after being on-shore for exciting excursions Dining rooms and servers were first rate and entertaining, Kershan and Imade were funny and did magic tricks to entertain us while we waited on our dinner to be ready. Ports and Shore excursions were easily accessible, lots of Royal Caribbean stores on port. On board entertainment was great from the jazz bands to the comedy of Jeff McGraff. A very relaxing and enjoyable cruise to unwind and de-stress from life's normalcy. Read Less

Been on 5 other Royal Caribbean cruises, and many Carnival and NCL, but after this cruise, I will never go on RC again. Florida is always a fun jumping-off point, and we had fun this time as well, but on to the cruise. Getting on the boat wasn't bad, and the crowds weren't excessive. I've seen worse. Our room was a balcony room overlooking central park. It was a fair bit cheaper than balcony rooms over water, but I don't think I would do it again. Unlike ocean facing rooms, its always bright in central park, and its possible for other people to look in from across the ways. Overall we wanted to try this ship because it was large, and it was. Big and lots to do, but this was only really partially true in our view. RC tries to sway you to go on this ship for all its activities, and it does have them, but here is a little secret, people don't naturally stay perfectly spaced out. Many people want lunch or show as the same time as other people. Unlike EVERY other cruise ship we've been on, you have to make reservations for almost everything. Want to see a show? You better hope you made a reservation before you left because its sold out now. Lunch at noon? good luck with that one. You will never ever find a seat. And good luck getting a deck chair. We typically went to the Windjammer for all meals but dinner, and the crowds here were insane at times. The first battle was finding a seat, then there was the lines. You'd THINK a big ship like this would have a good variety of food? Nope. Its the same small selection of food that just repeats again and again and again. Maybe this was generally good, because once you waited in one line, there really wasn't reason to wait in another. The food was average at best. Specialty restaurants were good, but the price can add up and almost all of them were book once on the ship. We saw one show because we made reservations before our cruise, and the water show was pretty good, but most other shows were sold out once on board. I've never had to make show reservations before, and this is reason enough to never take a cruise like again. Ice skating and Florider and zipline are fun if you are young and willing to wait in line. Most of the kids we went with said they were OK, but once they did them, it was enough. Overall I go on a cruise to relax, and this was NOT a relaxing cruise, it was survival of the fittest. No thanks, I'll take the smaller ships thank you, but RC turned me off so much with this one that I will not take another RC cruise again. I've been on many RC cruises through the years, and at one time they were more upscale, although somewhat more expense than the other mainstream companies. Over the years RC has tended to bigger and bigger ships, and service has gone way down. Exactly what the airlines do, squeeze them in, and nickel and dime them for everything. The free options shrunk, and the optional items grow. In the end, bigger is definitely not better, its merely a Royal Caribbean profit maximizing technique. Read Less
