This was our fourth carnival cruise. Our second cruise on the miracle. we loved the miracle and the staff and the food and everything so so much the first time around we decided to do a second trip on the miracle about a year later.
Embarkation went smoothly. Our cabin was nice. The bed was comfortable. The water was hot. Our room steward was fantastic as always. The food was good. The ...
We chose because it was West Coast (easier for traveling for us from AK) and week before Spring Break.
The food quality has gone down tremendously.
The service was good and entertainment ok but if you aren’t a late owl be prepared to miss most deck or theme parties since they all started at 10:30 or 11pm.
The 15-17 age group seemed like they didn’t do much to engage kids together and my ...
The ship layout is great and there seems to be plenty of rooms and seats all of which were quite comfortable.
The cabin was clean enough (we did notice a layer of dust on a few surfaces in the room though). And everyone we talked to about their rooms thought they were nice and quiet. They have done well with the insulation in these rooms!
The buffet and the MDR had amazing service but ...
Fourth time on this ship, and the last. Most things were the same, but some worse than in the past. Cabin was clean and service good. The shows as usual were very good. The cruse staff especially a lady maned Queen Mary was very good. Deon the CD very energetic, but not super friendly. Food was mediocre, not as good as in the psdt. Dinner service was very good. The worst was breakfast. ...
DINING: This was our second Princess Cruise and the experience that impressed us the most was the elevated cuisine in the main dining room (Botticelli). Having previously sailed on Celebrity (Millenium), Holland America (Zuiderdam), Cunard (Queen Elizabeth), and Princess (Ruby), I would have rated Princess at the bottom of the list for dining. After this cruise on the Crown Princess, I would now ...
My wife and I try to take a “find the Sun” activity around February to get away from the Northwest Indiana winter. This year it was the 18 day Hawaii from San Diego back to San Diego. This was also our fourth HAL cruise in five months. With over 50 cruises under our collective belts, this one goes down toward the bottom of the list.
HAL cannot be held accountable for the weather and I do not ...
We were in a mid-ship Neptune Suite across from the Neptune Lounge. We are both in our mid-to-late 70’s and are 4-star Mariners with Holland American. This was our 8th HAL cruise, all of which have been in Neptune Suites. We left San Diego on January 27, 2024 for an 18-day round-trip cruise to Hawaii.
If this had been our very first cruise, I might have rated this a bit higher. But when ...
This was our 69th cruise but only second on Holland America.
The ship was nice but not as elegant or as well laid out as Celebrity Solstice and Edge class ships - which we love. We picked this cruise for the itinerary and the time of the year it was sailing.
Our most enjoyable meal was in the Pinnacle which we ate at twice. The service in there was top notch too. The dining room food was ...
Hadn’t been on HAL since 2004 but had six prior cruises under my belt starting in 1995- all of which I had really enjoyed. This cruise was easy driving distance from home and Costco travel had a great deal for a balcony with HIA included, which is how we chose it. In the last six years, have cruised on Celebrity and Cunard- and based on the price point and the market positioning, expected ...
We chose this cruise because we've enjoyed Holland America cruises in the past, and because the itinerary was what we were looking for.
Sadly, Holland America has declined sharply in recent years. This cruise was like staying in a second-rate Las Vegas hotel:
*smokey casino, with smoke drifting into other areas of the ship
*deafening music in all the music venues
*no classical music ...
