We took a Mississippi River cruise on American Cruise Lines Oct. 3-10. It definately had the price tag of a luxury cruise but unfortunately fell very short. The worst thing was there was Legionella in the water (employees said this was a known issue prior to our departure). We were a group of 11, 8 of us got sick. There was also dreadful mold in the showers which we asked to have cleaned. The ...
We chose this cruise expecting a first class luxury cruise. We liked the all inclusive aspect of the cruise. However before we even got on board we ran into issues when trying to book shore excursions. The website would register my husbands excursions but not mine. That was all straightened out with a call was made to the cruise line. We had an overnight at the Peabody in Memphis which was great. ...
Wanted to experience the lower Mississippi River, and this cruise was an excellent way to do that. Small number of passangers made the cruise a delight, while never feeling crowded or having to wait in any line for any service. This was our third trip on an American Cruise Line ship, and the service and personnel are over the top excellent. Could not hope for a better vacation.
Food was ...
We did this cruise because Memphis/ Mississippi/Graceland were on our bucket list. American Cruiselines are not cheap but well worth the extra cost. The ship was spotless, food fabulous and staff were amazing. Loved that the tour bus followed the ship so that we could take the coach at every port. (Great for those difficulty with walking). I am vegan and the Executive Chef Guy catered for me ...
First and foremost, the accolades go to the crew of the 2022/23 Holiday Cruise.
American Cruise Line must have hand selected their A plus PLUS employees to join together to make this a seamless and enjoyable voyage. Under the leadership of Hotel General Manager Shavar Cubit, this year’s cruise definitely had extra festive elements for its guests – a gingerbread house making session, tasteful ...
The beautifully appointed American Melody was a great place to celebrate the beginning of 2023!
Decorated for the holidays with tasteful wreaths, a ‘tree of poinsettias” in the lobby, and a decorated tree in the River Lounge. As soon as you boarded the ship you had a visual reminder that this was a holiday-themed cruise.
SPECIAL IT WAS! The entire crew was outstanding and the service was ...
I was a solo traveler on the American Symphony on the Lower Mississippi. I was expecting some challenges due to the historically low water levels, which is obviously beyond anyone’s control. Fortunately, the crew helped make the best of the unavoidable deviations with helpful attitudes and friendly faces. This went a long way towards making the trip a positive experience. The vessel is new and I ...
After seeing the new “Elvis” movie, I wanted to visit Graceland in Memphis. After seeing photos of the new American Symphony, I wanted to experience a cruise on the beautiful riverboat.
So, I combined both of those hopes into one wonderful experience. I cruised from Memphis to New Orleans on the American Symphony in November.
I also chose the two-night pre-cruise Elvis Experience in Memphis ...
Check Before You Book. The Mississippi River is at all time lows. We understand that. A few days before our departure, we received an email saying that we would have to bus from Memphis to Vicksburg. That is a 4 hour ride. The bad thing is, the cruise line never offered to compensate for this.
The food left a little to be desired but the dessert chef made up for that. The cruise was touted ...
We took two cruises recently, one on a "monster" ship holding more than 4000 passengers and this one on American Cruise Lines. There is no comparison as to which is far superior: American Cruise Line is better by a mile!
There are many reasons: traveling in the US makes us feel safe and close to high quality medical facilities; the American crew is wonderful - sweet, attentive, and they ...
