We sailed on March 25th, from San Juan. Our 4th Windstar cruise but 1st time on the Legend. We’ve been on the “Star” once and the “Surf” twice.
As always, every day was perfect except 1 – a day with light rain. It’s funny how that happens to us every time. And as always each port was perfect – they all had at least 1 beach & a few bar destinations. On this trip we landed on 2 new islands ...
Chose this cruise because DH wanted to cruise on the ship with sails, and there were islands we had not yet experienced in the Caribbean-Barbuda, Isles de Saintes, and St Barths. Our cabin was 222 which was convenient to the stairs, embarking / disembarking. For a small ship, our cabin was very comfortable and our steward was excellent - always had fresh ice and fresh linens. We were greeted ...
After searching for a "unique experience" for our 40th wedding anniversary my wife and I settled on the 11 day French Polynesia excursion on Windstar's Wind Spirit. Our decision couldn't have been better! Embarkation and disembarkation were well planned and went smoothly. The limited number of passengers led to a more intimate atmosphere, making it easy to make friends. This is definitely not ...
Beware. Do not book this cruise over Spring Break- Caribbean. Beware of other voyages as well since Windstar apparently caters to these types of events and is oblivious to the impact on their repeat customers. Check if there are any large groups booked on your ship. The cruise we were on during Spring Break 2017 was terrible. The cruise was taken over by an outside party band and it was NOT ...
With winter wearing us down we felt it was time to book another cruise to soak up some sun and heat. We ended up choosing Windstar because 1) It wasn't departing out of the cruise ports we'd done many times before (Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, etc.) and 2) the ports were not, with the exception of Castries, places we had been to before. Yeah, basically we wanted to try something different in the ...
TOns of smokers on this ship , they should be allowed places to smoke , but limited. impossible to get into the private dining rooms.
Zero children on this trip - excellent - the cruise line does a very good job of explaining this is probably a cruise where children will be disappointed and lack things to do.
Entertainment was pretty much non-existent except for the crew - they were ...
This was my third Windstar cruise - second one on the Windsurf. I chose the BVI Yachtman's Caribbean as I remembered those islands from long ago sailing. Unfortunately, we couldn't snorkel or catamaran very often (excursions were cancelled) due to rough seas, so not a lot to do. There were then limited excursions left to take advantage of.
I did swim with the Stingrays - that was cool. The ...
We sailed on the Windstar to the Caribbean, St George to St George, in early March 2017. The ship was lovely, the crew was very attentive and food was quite good. The advantage of cruising on a small ship like this is that visits to small ports and hidden away places are possible and the itinerary was full of promise. While the first few days of this cruise confirmed this expectation, bad weather ...
Love small ship sailing and this was no exception!! The cabins are beyond amazing!! Every room is a suite!! Fabulous!! Great staff, fantastic food and amazing wildlife!! Chocolate Farm was fun and educational!! Terrabo Sierpe Mangroves River Tour was beyond our expectations!! Manuel San Antonio was very crowded and the tour company needs to work on organizing it better but it was a nice ...
I will start by saying that we selected a March cruise being in the low season it's more of a bargain because it is also considered the rainy season. We kept an open mind and thought we could expect some rain. We were lucky, it did rain but none of that rain happened during the days of our trip so we were able to enjoy all our excursions. In fact the days were very warm and sunny. With that ...
