My wife and I went on the Christmas market on the Rhine cruise. Magical is the word we use to describe our trip. As expected the food, tours, staff and all were amazing. The experience was horrible from day 1. Arrived day early and stayed in hotel. Departed next morning for the dock, no ship. Went to 2d dock, no ship. At 3rd, there was a Viking ship (not ours) who advised us that we had to go to another hotel to be bussed to our second port. So, missed time in Basel. No text, no email, no communication. We never left from Basel or saw it. No communication to passengers on change, which resulted in chaos. Skipped ports with no explanation. Due to a tanker running aground, we were forced again to be bussed to a new ship, missing the scenic area & lovely promised ports. Bus ride was pure misery . Chose Viking cruise because of the small ship size and the ability of seeing so many different Christmas Markets. The food on board was decent. Breakfast was the best offering of the day.
