Viking Expeditions Cruise Reviews

Hanging Out in a Penguin Rookery.
Submerged inside the Viking Octantis submarine 1 "John". We were lucky enough to be among the first guests on the only day of deployment at the Cuverville Station in Antarctica. Awesome!

Canadian Discovery Tour - TOTALLY FALSE ADVERTISING!!!

Review for Viking Octantis to Canada & New England

We book and paid for an expedition cruise and received less than a repositioning cruise. We book the cruise over 2 years ago at which time Viking advised that most of the tours were included in our fare. Then 30 days before the cruise, Viking was charging for the tours that we had wanted and others they had simply cancelled. Totally false advertising. Viking either has no clue what expedition ...

Wonderful new ship with a very energetic crew

Review for Viking Octantis to Caribbean - All

Viking Octantis is a new ship with a purpose: interactive fun for the guests. It's built to cruise in Arctic/Antarctic waters, but it size allows it to go to other waters, such as the US Great Lakes and cruise where much larger ships do not. For starters, as an 'expedition' ship, the Octantis has significant gear aboard that enables its guests to experience their ports up close and personally. ...

I liked it better than the other Viking Ocean Ships

Review for Viking Octantis to Caribbean - All

My expectations for this ship turned out to be quite a bit off! All I knew when I first heard about this ship is that it is smaller and carried less passengers than Viking's other ocean ships. I interpreted that to mean that it was going to be a scaled-back version of their other ships... that it would be somehow inferior. But after a 10-day cruise on Viking Octantis, I'm here to tell you ...

We wanted to experience the new expedition ship, Viking Octantis. We chose this trip as it had several stops in the Caribbean before heading to NYC. We had a wonderful trip and enjoyed all that Octantis had to offer. While the entertainment was fine, it was not the same as one would find on a larger ship. We knew this from the start so were not disappointed, but that's why I rated the ...

We chose this expedition because of previous experiences with Viking River Cruises. The expedition was outstanding in all respects: service, accomodations, dining and landings on the zodiacs. The staff, in all areas, was attentive and accomodating. Kudos to all from the Captain and Department Heads to to the Wait Staff, Cabin Attendents, and expedition and landing crews. This expedition ...

Sea Excellence

Through much online Viking cruise (positive) search reviews, the small size of the ship, adults only and Octantis being an expedition ship Viking met what we were looking for in a cruise without the party time atmosphere of most other lines. With that being said, we decided to give her a try and we are certainly glad that we did as we were NOT disappointed. As a matter-of-fact Viking exceeded our ...

Viking never fails to offer an exceptional cruising experience. From their all-inclusive itineraries to their casual/fine dining, Viking, in our opinion, is heads and tails above the competition. We love having our flights, transfers and tours all organized for us. And, we enjoy the casual, sophisticated ambiance of the ocean cruise. Truly, Viking offers like-minded people an opportunity to ...

Beautiful new boutique ship

A change in itinerary gave this trip a total of 10 consecutive sea days. I wondered whether that would prove to be too many for us and whether we would be bored on a small ship with only a handful of fellow passengers. Turned out I should not have worried. The Octantis is very comfortable and perfectly familiar to anyone who has cruised on Viking Ocean previously. The small size made for a ...

We were on from Ushuaia to Milwaukee, 9 March to 7 May 2022. There were several shortfalls in the usual high-level of service and excursions that Viking is known for. We have been provided with Future Cruise Credits and are very appreciative, but I wanted to take the time to provide specific feedback for your consideration. Kayhan , Restaurant Manager, is a true gem!!! Any shortfalls ...

This was my wife bucket list trip and what a trip it was. First and foremost the Expedition Team, getting us on the zodiacs and off, made sure everyone and I mean everyone was safe. On land, areas mark for safety, asking the many questions we had. Being around them, the enjoyment they were having, it rubbed off. The ship, the staff, and the food, you cannot beat it. The ONE POINT that needs ...
