Fantastic crew on a cramped and unexpected party cruise

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Carnival Liberty

We haven’t sailed Carnival in 10 years but recall it being SO MUCH FUN. This sailing met our exact date, duration and port so we were happy to return to Carnival. The Not so Great: Upon arrival we were ushered to the side of the parking garage so a worker could take our bags. Before we could even offer he asked for a tip. We are generous tippers in all regards, so to be asked for one ...

The Old Lady isn't what she used to be

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Queen Mary 2 (QM2)

First Time Cruiser • Age 70s

We've cruised about 25 times and this was I believe the 5th trip on the QM2 - one of the worst experiences we've had. The ship felt cheap. Meals in the dining room were well prepared, but were extremely small portions. There used to be (pre-covid) standard options (steak, salmon, chicken) daily if you didn't like the featured items, but no longer. The theater entertainment felt more amateurish ...

Disappointing dining

Review for a Iceland Cruise on Viking Star

Good but not very good. The only dining option that avoids the prospect of poor food and sometimes slightly chaotic service is the World Café which is self service and a visible choice of dishes. In other restaurants, the waiting staff are lovely but not fully trained, management make promises they know to be unreliable, wine is insufficiently chilled and food that on occasions is of a quality ...

A Mixed bag - had some good moments!

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Jade

We boarded the cruise from Athens. We stayed in Athens for 2 nights before the cruise. We took the second guest free air option - which in retro was a mistake. Both the flights had stop over and would not have travelled in either airlines ( Lufthansa/Air France) if I was booking myself. I was hoping that from JFK we would have a chance to get direct flight to Athens - no joy. Also we had to seat ...

Expected much Better!

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Carnival Pride

Before I begin let me say that our cruise experience has been wonderful in sone ways and terrible in others. We booked a 12 day Scandinavian cruise and our port excursions have been usually good to very good. We booked a large suite and it also has been very nice. Large and comfortable!. The staff has been Amazing. Even the weather has been near perfect. The entertainment has been generally ...

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Vision of the Seas

We have cruised on big and little ships and our favorite was Enchantment out of Baltimore, we just loved it. I had hoped Vision would be similar - it is a sister ship in size. Somehow Vision lacked the elegance of Enchantment, and maybe the changes to the menu - both in the dining room and Windjammer - made it feel less. First, it was the most crowded ship we've ever been on. Maybe because it was ...

Good but Not Great!

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Adventure of the Seas

We chose this cruise mostly based on itinerary as we have sailed the Caribbean many times but have never been to St Croix or Tortola. Despite the heading saying this was a 5 day it was a 7 day Eastern Caribbean cruise. This was our second cruise on the Adventure, the last one being about 6 1/2 years ago. The cruise itself we found to be quite boring. Most things are surrounded around childen and ...

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Carnival Elation

We chose this cruise because we needed to be in Jacksonville for another event and decided it was convenient and we didn’t need to drive further south. If you’re from the north there are 2 things you need to know. 1. These people down here really still smoke a lot more and yes there is a designated area on board up above the pool outside but All Day it wafts right at you. 2. We went to a special ...

Not as Royal as they used to be

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Oasis of the Seas

Cruising w/ RC used to be a first class experience for all. I feel they are now just trying to squeeze as many people on a ship and get every last penny out of their passengers. First off, our balcony room on Deck 7 seemed smaller than other ships. When we arrived we found our room to be maybe 1/2 made, sheets off the bed, dirty linens found underneath the couch and speaking of the couch, the ...

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Azura

We were excited for our cruise, it was going to 9 destinations and 8 we had never been to before. We are not new to cruising so knew what to expect on a well detailed and organised cruise. The Ship is fine in itself, if a little tired in places. The Captain was brilliant, he was from Derbyshire and made every announcement funny, but informative. Catering needs some serious work, and I mean ...
