First Timers - Now Hooked!

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Wind Surf

My husband and I have traveled a lot, but never cruised. We weren't interested in large ships, so our first cruise was on the Wind Surf in May, 2023, Italy and Croatia. In spite of very bad luck with the weather, we loved the experience and are already planning our next Windstar trip. The ship is older and shows signs of wear if you look for it, but that didn't bother us a bit...we loved the ...

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Regal Princess

Reason for Cruise: I want to explore United Kingdom. This was my first every trip visiting this region. Ports: This cruise took me to so many interesting cities. Sometimes you have to take a shuttle or train $10-$15 extra or $100 Princess Bus to the city. I had to pay an extra $100 for Princess to take me to Paris from Normandy Port. This is not just Princess but many cruise companies do this. ...

Great First Experience

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Freedom of the Seas

This was my first real cruise and it was perfect! Departure out of Miami was surprisingly smooth and the views were great. We had one sea day which gave us plenty of time to explore the ship. I found FOTS to be not too big but not too small with plenty to do. The promenade is beautiful and I really enjoyed the theater productions. The pool deck was very crowded but that's to be expected, I guess. ...

Review for a Europe - River Cruise Cruise on Viking Embla

I chose this cruise as I wanted to try a river cruise on Viking. They were having a sale and the price was right. I loved the ship, the cruise line, the ports, the service, etc. The weather was ok, warm at the onset, some days of rain but I expected that and there is no way to prevent that. The room was spacious and well appointed. The meals were excellent. The ship was beautiful. I really ...

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Sky

Let me list the ways: 1)Embarkation: staterooms not "released" for occupancy until almost 3pm after we had endured a "red eye" flight across the country arranged by NCL, waited almost an hour for NCL transfer to ship, and had to kill 3 hours on ship with carry on luggage 2)Cabin had hair (not ours) in shower, on bath floor and on shower curtain when we checked in 3)cabins cleaned once a day I can ...

This was my 1st cruise with them and boy did it leave an impression. The live music played on the pool deck was so bad. The 2 gentlemen tried their best but were off the mark with the covers they were playing. Then there was the men's restroom outside the Reflections dining room that had "fluid" overflowing from it into the hallway leading to the Reflections dining room. Despite this, the ...

Our overpriced Covid cruise

Review for a Europe - River Cruise Cruise on Scenic Jasper

Saved up for a once in a lifetime river cruise to have it cut short by getting Covid. The ship is very nice the staff are also very nice however they need to prioritize their customers health. There were no covid protocols as a matter of fact they said Covid was no longer an issue but if you self tested positive you would have to quarantine for 5 days so the implication was (don't test). From day ...

Worst Cruise Line

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Westerdam

This cruise was the first of the year to Alaska for Holland America this year, 2023. We had heard favorable things about a Holland America; however, the cruise line failed to live up to any of the expectations that people had set for us. It began by having the board at 11 AM without our cabins being ready nor leaving until 5 PM. All of the passengers were directed to the Lido deck, where they ...

Noro Virus, long lines, and so-so food

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Nieuw Amsterdam

User Avatar

I chose Holland America for its good reputation. My cruise experience was very unpleasant and difficult. My cabin-mate got noro-virus, as did one-third to half the people in our tour group, and many other people on the ship. It was not being spread between cabin mates, so it must have been spread through dining services. I was told by medical that I was responsible for caring for my cabin mate, ...
