We arrived at the day of embarkation to find that the itinerary had changed. Apparently, this had been known at least a day before. We were to miss 3 (Kotor, Santorini, and Mykonos) of our 6 ports and they added Split and Bar. We were given $200 OBC per cabin and 20% of our cruise price as credit towards a future cruise. This felt a bit gimmicky and doesn't really make up for the fact of missing these three ports (on top of the fact that we missed Bar due to high winds). When you compare what we received to the cruise prior ($100 OBC per person in a cabin JUST for missing Dubrovnik) and the cruise after ($100 OBC per cabin AND the 20% future cruise credit) just for missing 2 ports (Santorini and scheduling a technical stop in Bar in lieu of Kotor), we really weren't compensated sufficiently. There was a lack of communication overall. At our CC mix and mingle, they told us what was going on. But, nobody else on the ship was aware and rumours flew. I wasn't that angry about missing Santorini and Mykonos, but the lack of communication was stifling. We woke up on the day to reach Bar and were told it was too windy to dock. I could clearly see that. But, I doubt we would have made it anyway because the ship sat in Dubrovnik clear into the early hours of the morning. Other than the faulty engine (and this isn't new to the Star...read the CC boards), the ship was well laid out and nice. It could have done with an extra bar because Gatsby's was always crowded. Yet, the locations of most events were well planned. The cabin (a balcony on deck 10) was just below the spa. It was a large enough size, with a nice balcony, and tons of storage space for our things. Our cabin steward (when I asked) gave us wonderful towel animals every evening. I never had to ask for anything, as he always had things clean and neat for us each day. He always asked us about our day and wished us good morning. The entertainment was quite good. The Paradis show was a bit tongue-in-cheek, but funny and good. The magician was surprisingly good. In the past, I've been disappointed by magicians so was hesitant to go. Yet, he did a lot of close up magic that is popular today. The duo acrobat show was similarly nice while the Paris show was just ok. We loved the staff! The workers at Starbucks, the bar staff at Gatsby's, the entertainment crew. Enough can't be said for Shirley who makes you get out of your comfort zone, makes you laugh, and remembers you daily. She was the heart of the ship! I did manage to see JC a few times and he was entertaining! Another issue we had (once again about communication) was the events taking place. We always enjoy doing trivia and were waiting for one to start. Come to find out, Steph was doing paper and pencil trivia with 2 tables in the corner (at Bliss). We noticed and I asked about it. She said it's just paper and pencil tribond. I know what it was as I've done it before on NCL and it was done with a microphone and PPT. She argued that it's not really trivia (it says tri-bond trivia on the NCL Daily). And then every body else in the room (probably 50+) people had to go get their forms as everyone was waiting for trivia to start. We also had issues on the last day (sea day). We signed up for the black glass tasting at 1pm and come to find out, it had been moved to 12 and 2pm. Having signed up on Day 1 of the cruise, it would be logical to send notifications to the cabins to provide notice. It was not done and when we found at at 12:30, we approached the sommelier hosting the event, who told us they made an announcement. Announcements don't go everywhere (cabins, spa, etc.) and even in the atrium half the announcements are muffled by talking. So, we missed our tasting. The NCL Daily was incorrect as it did not show this change and even the times of the restaurants and bars were wrong. When you have so many other things going wrong with the itinerary, this should be perfect. Dining all around was as expected. We ate at Teppanyaki (9pm reservations but our orders weren't taken until 9:45) the first night, Le Bistro, and Cagney's. The veal steak at Le Bistro was one of the highlights of dinner! We had lunch in O'Sheehan's and the quality was mixed. All the staff were engaging, smiling, and interested in serving us. Food was nice all around, even in the main dining halls. Versailles was a bit quieter than the other one. It rained in a few of the ports (we only had 4). I could have skipped Cofu, but Split, Dubrovnik, and even Argostoli (to a lesser extent) were nice. Argostoli was the warmest and the sunniest, so that was lovely. We did take an NCL excursion in Argostoli and not sure it was worth the money. We rode on a bus an hour there, spent 30 minutes at the caves, then rode the bus another 15 minutes to the lake. We waited in line for the lake, had a 10 minute lake/cave ride. Then, we drove the 1hr + back to port. We opted for the premium plus beverage package and really enjoyed it. I'm 60% sold on it. While pricier, I enjoyed the option of not having to pay extra for nicer drinks (real champagne, whisky, etc.). We got coffees every day and were constantly hydrated with the bottles of water. Another service we chose was the spa. The pedicures we got with our OBC were amazing! We always buy the thermal spa pass. Yet, I was disappointed with this ship's. Usually, there's a sign on the door that says "quiet area". This one did not have one and was always noisy and seemed like a party zone. The hot tub was almost always at capacity and the chairs were always occupied. I had to be stealthy to get a chair and wait patiently. There were also a group of women who took shifts daily in the chairs. There were only 7 chairs, and they occupied 3 of them. As soon as one was ready to leave, they waited for the next member of the group and when he/she arrived, they swapped out. I witnessed this on several occasions and the rotations lasted hours on end. I didn't even get the value from my pass on the trip and avoided it Day 7 as I knew sea days it would be packed. I wouldn't cruise again out of Venice as the port is difficult to get to. Luckily, we just bring carryons and opted to walk from St. Marco square to Piazza Roma and took the people mover. Again, we had to cross several bridges and it took us 40 minutes to walk. The taxis wanted 100 euros to take us the 11 minutes. Read Less

We expected a lot more based on the past experiences related to us by friends and family. The room service menu left a lot to be desired even when they delivered what we ordered, which was about 10% of the time. You can't get toast with breakfast even if you ask for it! Our room was a tired shade of beige, with both lampshades conspicuously held together by sticky tape. I can only assume the shower space was designed by someone who'd never taken one, topped off by a curtain that was about an inch short of serving its purpose, leaving us with a soaked bath mat each time. Lunching in the "anytime" dining room was a queue-early or queue-long experience, with only one of three dining rooms opened to cater to the masses. Having made it in once (after prior aborted attempts) we realised it wasn't worth the wait after all and never went back. Afternoon tea was an exercise in attracting the attention of waiters just emerging from the galley, as we watched the septuagenarians and older finger the sandwiches they wanted on the trays already circulating the room, only to be served ones they hadn't touched by the waiters who let this happen while we watched; you can only hope their hands were clean! The dinner menu changed daily and was a mediocre offering, with the best saved for the last night, presumably to leave us on a high note. Sadly, the five nights prior had already left an indelible mark. I feel sorry for the wait staff who had to continually serve up such middling fare so incommensurate with their excellent service. I can't speak for the drinks in general, but the mark-ups on sauvignon blanc were close to 5 times retail ($46 for a $10 bottle of wine) - far better to bring your own on-board in quantity and pay the $15 per bottle corkage. I don't mind paying for good wine but that is just inexcusable gouging. Hobart was nice, but we arrived on a day when many attractions were closed. Note to self - must do more research as cruise-line obviously doesn't. Will definitely go back there under own steam to explore further. We've cruised on Celebrity Solstice before and almost certainly will again. Cruising on Ruby Princess was a first and a last for us. Read Less

It was easy leaving in New Jersey to just catch the ship and getaway. We were delayed over 2 hours boarding the ship. We stood outside online without anyone telling us what the problem was. I cannot believe they did not try with todays technology to contact people and let them know there would be a delay. NCL knew as the ship did not dock until 10:00. The worst embarkation in my 40 years of cruising. Service is minimal in restaurants at best. Actually had a waiter in Le Bistro walk over to the table after we sat and asked if we were ready to order. No introduction or would we like a drink etc. La Cucina and Las Lobos can't compete with diner food. Ambiance is worse. Teppanyaki was the best food on the ship. Moderno for suite guests was excellent in both food and service. The smell of smoke from the casino and the smoking lounge was unbearable. Getting off the ship was easy. I would not go on NCL again. First things first the food is disgusting, the service is really bad, the workers disturb you 24/7 with food/drink packages even in a middle of your dinner... The cruise itself is cheap but everything else is expensive Me and my wife got a reserved table (which cannot be changed) near 6 other strangers we don’t know You have to wait for about 10 minutes for the lift to arrive We got a cancellation to one of our stops due to weather (I'm not blaming the crew) and didn’t get any compensation at all, crusing in the middle of the sea so we decided to buy an internet package for 34 euros FOR 24H!!! and the fun part its only suitable for 1 device!!!! We accidently bought it for our cellphone so we had to go to the reception to change it to our laptop, WE HAD TO ARGUE TO GET IT SWITCHED TO OUR LAPTOP! After 15 minutes arguing we got it to our laptop with no charge... And at the end we got a mandatory 140 euro “service charge” bill for 4 days This is the last time im cruising with msc Read Less

This was our first cruise. So we didn’t know what was normal and what wasn’t. But wow. There are some issues here. First of all, as newbies, as the ship was leaving, we went up to a viewing point to watch us sail away from Florida. To our absolute horror we watched miles of sewage being dumped by our ship. I’m scarred for life after seeing this. I immediately started googling to see if this was allowed and sure enough, to my absolute disgust, it is. And it was done so blatantly: an enormous amount of sewage being dumped as we sailed away. No care that excited passengers would be watching. THAT is what we watched as we sailed away on our first cruise. I’m home now and still traumatized by such blatent pollution to that beautiful ocean and all the creatures within it. Why it isn’t dumped in a more responsible way when it sits at port for four hours is beyond me. And while I obviously don’t know if it was “treated” it sure looked raw. Another issue. After two days of suffering through an issue that we just thought was “just the way it is” we learned from a fellow passenger that no, it is NOT normal for our bathroom to smell like sewage all the time (which permeated into the cabin). Fortunately we had a balcony door that we could open for fresh air. We mentioned it to guest services who seemed very ‘meh’ about it but said they would send a plumber up. To our knowledge this did not occur and no one followed up. I make this assumption because the problem was never rectified. The entire duration of our stay we suffered through the smell of sewage in our cabin. 9039 was our cabin. Another issue. We were at the pool area when we saw a girl get so intoxicated that she sat on the backside of a pool lounger and urinated right onto the chair and pool deck. I brought this to the attention of a staff member (Towel guy) and then went to the opposite side of the ship to avoid the area and to ensure it got cleaned. The only question he asked me was where was the girl who did this. He never summoned anyone, the pool deck was never cleaned. I stayed for one hour. The chair that was soiled was simply stacked on top of the others. The deck never mopped. I’m absolutely disgusted and scarred for life from watching this and how it was handled. Shame on them for allowing passengers to get so intoxicated. And double shame on them for not cleaning it up. An employee was told. And he did NOTHING. Good thing I was forced to pay a service fee to allow equal tipping to all of their employees. Another issue with the pool, not once during our four day cruise did I see anyone testing the water quality despite the multitude of people always in there. This should be done not only for a visual assurance for passengers but also because to not do it is disgusting. This should be done SEVERAL times per day, given the number of people using the pool. The Casino REEKED of smoke and is a common thoroughfare. Not impressed that we had to walk through there on a fairly regular basis just to get where we wanted to go. So that is my review. For my first experience this was very disappointing. That’s unfortunate because the staff and other service personnel were excellent. Oh. One more thing. Nassau. OMG. Although the water is beautiful we didn’t feel safe for one minute after we docked there, hustled every 30 seconds, it’s a big safety issue, I don’t even know why they go there. Their private island: Great Stirrup Cay was much safer and more inviting. I would rather do that two days of that vs putting myself through the stress and chaos of Nassau. Read Less

We were very underwhelmed by our cruise. We had a balcony room towards the front of the ship. The room was clean, but nothing spectacular. The TV channels were almost non existent, we had 2 movie channels and 1 sitcom channel, the other few channels were related to the cruise. The beverage staff was slow and constantly forgot your drinks. There was little to no entertainment on the ship. The smoking section was so small there was never enough seats for everyone to sit. Additionally, you weren’t allowed to smoke at the bar that was located in the smoking section. Food was mediocre and the service one night at the four seasons was horrendous. We were there for almost two hours after being seated and it wasn’t because we couldn’t decide what we wanted to eat or drink, it was because our server kept disappearing. I will definitely not be going back on a Norwegian Cruise. Read Less

Lunch and dinner were about the same. The food had no taste, it was cold, not enough option, and it was either over cooked or under cooked. Some of the staff were not friendly and did not greet us sometimes. The bathroom shower was too small and it has some bad smell. We enjoyed the balcony view. There were only 2 pools and 2 jacuzzis and they were always full of people. The smoking area was also next to the pool. We had to spend more money to buy food at the excursions because we could not eat the food that was served. This was an older ship so there were not fun activities to choose from the ship. Read Less

We chose this cruise because we had six other couples going as well. Our 30th wedding anniversary is around this time and we first sailed on a cruise 30 years ago with Norwegian for our honeymoon. We hadn't been on a cruise since then and wanted to celebrate our anniversary with Norwegian. We were so excited to see Italy, Greece, and most importantly Croatia. We had been watching documentaries about Croatia and was really interested in all of these places. We had never been to any of these locations previously. We arrived early to our departure city and had a fantastic time. The embarkation went well and smooth. The activities aboard the cruise ship were numerous and entertaining. The food was acceptable and plentiful. The water was expensive to purchase in bottle form, but the unlimited drink package was most helpful! The staff from restaurant to porter was great! They went above and beyond. I do not think I would travel on Norwegian for our next cruise until I know that they have their cruise ships maintained and up-to-date. The loss of a port that I purposely booked for was too disappointing and I don't see the ability to go back to see it anytime in the future. Read Less

I’ve cruised once before on this line and about 25 other times on other lines. This was by far the most disappointing. I’m on the ship now on day 4 of our 7 day cruise. The food is terrible. The food choices at the buffet sub par. The shows are similar night over night with the same cast appearing in each show. Little variety. Tonight they repeated two of the acts. I will likely never cruise MSC again. There is nothing special about this ship other than the pool area. It’s a bit bigger than others I’ve been on. It isn’t spectacular and the entertainment during the day is not really there. We signed up for the thermal spa. This spa while it offers a variety of options with the exception of the sauna the areas are small and limited. The gym is decent. That’s about it. Wouldn’t return. I wasn’t impressed and didn’t like 3 levels of drink packages. It’s either you have it or you don’t. Read Less

We thought this would be a step up for RCL and NCL. Disappointed. It took two hours to eat in the dining room, which meant you missed two of the possible shows to see. Mainstage was not that good - dancers and comedian. Lincoln Center stage and Billboard was the only good entertainment - no dancing. BBKing was just a performer who screams a lot - no dancing music. Food was good, if you waited long enough. Our balcony was covered in chips from scraping being done when we boarded. I asked room steward twice for a second wine glass and to clean up the balcony. Finally cleaned it myself and left a note on the dirty towel. Every activity was too crowded; have to get there 1/2 hour before to get a seat or place for fitness activities. poor planning. Entertainment was scheduled too close together, back to back and impossible to finish a two hour dinner and make it to a 7:00 show. It got better, too many people complaining, but the only nice dinner was in Pinnacle the last night. Excursions were boring and not as billed - Cabarete beach was not calm and nothing to see in ride around Domiican. Calypso tram tour was okay for two hours but rushed when we finally got to see the donkeys, pay $3 to use bathroom and hurry up back on tram. Read Less

To start..the boarding process was easy. $15 per bottle of alcohol to bring onboard..total crock! Getting into our room was easy..getting our bags delivered to the room took forever..thought our bags had been lost it took so long and we tipped the guy at the terminal. Food that was available was a buffet..no pizza place. That would be the Biggest disappointment of the entire cruise..I've been on 2 other cruises..the Pizza place was my #1 spot..pizza whenever you want it..not This cruise..pizza was offered at very limited times and it wasn't very good. Only late night option was a Sports bar or Room Service that costs $8 every time you utilize that..pathetic! That was another change from previous cruises..room service was included! Every person is charged $15 per day on the cruise that covers gratuities..was not aware of this fee that was created mid 2019. The promotions given were very hard to take advantage of..free excursions..hard to sign up for and very limited options. Have basic options like bike/scooter/ATV rentals..not many people want to be guided..give us the way to see more and take advantage of our time while visiting. The special dining was the highlight of the cruise..we did Hibachi and Cagneys Steakhouse..Solid!! The chefs from Hibachi were great..put on a fun dinner! Final stop of the cruise was cancelled because it was "too" windy..we go to our balcony..barely any winds..turned out to be a beautiful day..but we get another "Fun day at Sea" This cruise was to celebrate our Honeymoon. Neither one of us had ever sailed Norwegian Cruise Line so we were excited to embark on something new for both of us! Unfortunately it was a huge letdown. Do not plan to sail Norwegian again! My husband and I booked this cruise to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We have cruised before on Carnival, Celebrity and Disney. This was the first cruise since our honeymoon without the kids. My husband and I heard good things about Norwiegian and were looking forward to it. The check in experience was pleasant and quick. We sat down to wait for boarding and saw other people had maps of the ship. My husband and I went back to check in and got one. Getting on the ship ws easy enough however, once we boarded no one new where to go, where we were allowed and no staff was giving anyone any direction. The staff said welcome and then let all of the patrons wander aimlessly. The staff stopped people that were going to places they were not allowed but gave no direction. I finally asked where are we allowed to go? Once we were told we could eat luch my husband and I went to the dining room. I asked about how a selection on the menu was prepared. The server could not answer. This was a regular occurance in the main dining room. The whole cruise took this tone. Service was lacking and slow. The agents even assigned to guest services could not answer simple questions. Bartenders complained about long hours and telling customers rudley to wait. My husband and I never even met our room steward or knew his/her name. There was nothing on this cruise to make you feel special just that we were inconvienent and they are overworked. One staff member Donna was spectacular. When we had a horrible anniversary dinner in the specialty dinning restaurant the Bistro she invited us back and made it right. She was caring and took pride in her job At the spa I got a facial with a skin analysis and didn't receive all the services. At the end when I got my bill we were charged $48 for drinks that were included in our package. It took 20 min to get it cleared up and we were late leaving the ship. Truly worst cruise ever!!! 35 yo, couple. We really liked our trip to Bermuda with Norwegian Escape. It was a really cool adventure as first-time cruisers. The ship is well maintained - the staff is super friendly and the balcony cabins are spacious for a couple. The complimentary food was OK. Not the best but we did enjoy it. The shows were awesome. Our main problem was with the SMOKING been allowed on the ship in the casino. First of all we couldn't play in the casino because of the smoke. BUT even if you didn't play the casino you coudn't avoid the smoke - the casino is located in the midship near main attractions and dining area. you just can't avoid passing through the casino that is packed with smokers. Disgusting and unhealthy. My wife is pregnant and we really suffered from that. NCL - please progress to 2019 and don't allow smoking on the ship. We chose because of price and destination. Too many passengers for the staff who did their best to keep up. Rarely was I asked if I wanted coffee after lunch or dinner. Three times no creamer, waiter brought a glass or cup of cream and poured it into my warm coffee. My usual go-to alternative at dinner is salmon. It was small and overcooked. No TV reception-I missed news and sports for 10 days. Felt like steerage not being allowed in many parts of the ship. Drink package was very poor and inconsistent. No outlet near bed for C-PAP. Chosen for the fact that it departed and returned to Vancouver. Other than that very disappointed with size of cabin ( swing a cat ). Washroom no bigger than a postage stamp. Shower was so small to wash your legs and feet, head would stick through shower curtain. It was claustrophobic. To towel off was impossible either hands, elbows or shoulders would strike the sides. No cold water came through the faucet just hot or warm. This was mentioned but told this is how it is. The room was so small my wife and I bumped into one another quite often. Other than the actual musical shows ( there were 4 ). The rest of the entertainment was average at best. The food was away below par. Especially at the buffet. Only breakfast was edible. Capri dining room perhaps a step up but but not great. Casino was smoky and machines very tight. I think 1 jackpot of 5000 was won during the whole cruise. It would appear that princess cruises are in tough for money and are cutting back on good service, good food and first class entertainment. They are very heavy on shopping stores and in selling low end junk. Not as advertised and our travel company should have known about these shortcoming. It was a waste of money. Read Less

Very disappointing cruise. Not the agenda but the overall vibe and feel of the experience. My expectations for the price paid was first class yet from cabin cleanliness , management team to the buffet food, I would rate it very below average. Many employees especially senior staff avoided interaction by being on the ships phones as they walked by. Cabins was dirty and attendant did nothing more than make a bed. No table cleaning, no dusting, no vacuuming no scrubbing of toilet floor or tub. Caught the steward on at least 4 occasions just loafing in the room or daydreaming on the balcony. Food quality very average at best. Too much repeat ( or slight variation with different names] does anyone really like bread pudding that much to have it everyday ? Soups all tasted same, salad bar was poor choices and actually ran out of lettuce day 10. As for itinerary, great as originally planned and switching Boston from Newport was a bonus but missing the full day and overnight in New York City was a negative. Appreciate NCL taking cover from the storm overnight on Wednesday but trying to get answers why the ship didn’t sail earlier on Thursday to reach New York to arrive at least by noon on Friday. Shortly after leaving the cove north of Boston at 6 pm The Bridge report on the TV showed arrival at 10 am Friday which would have been acceptable. It also seems it would have been achievable at approximately 300 nautical miles assuming 20-22 knots speed. Ship never achieved more than 11-12 knots and actually headed towards Nantucket to hang out most of the day on Friday. My guess is they were trying to save $$$$ on docking costs instead of trying to please the paying customers. Many guests were questioning staff but very poor communication and answers as to WHY! As if NCL was afraid to be honest about it. Final complaint was the number of tender ports even though the ports had usable piers that were occupied by other cruise lines. This seems to me that NCL made the decision that it is cheaper to tender than pay dock fees. Tendering is a time waste for the paying client when there are piers available. Is this way for cruise line to improve their Gross Profit? Read Less

The shower's design has the drainage in a higher slope than the shower's door. The concierge's immediate recommendation is to put towels on the floor each time we showered.until their crew engineers are available to analyze the problem. After a day of no resolution, we brought this up to the cruise general manager. He schedule 3 crews members to come & looked inside our suite and determine a quick fix. He ensured the room would be sanitized & cleaned from the leftover scum from the shower. Also on the 2 days we wanted to sleep in, our butler would knock on our door & will call repeatedly til we answered - the 1st time he inadvertently read the do not disturb sign as make our room to be ready (similar color code) and the second time was he had misread delivering breakfast time. Finally, on the 5th day of the cruise, as we suggested (I am a civil engineer), they installed a higher barrier on the shower door so water would not drain out onto the floors . So we were finally able to enjoy our room with privacy for the remaining one and 1/2 days of our cruise - so we thought! They inadvertently did not inform everyone that they were going to shut down the water in the room & you cannot flush the toilet since work will be done between midnight & 6 am throughout the ship. We only found out about it because we called after getting back from the casino at 2 am. Yup, we flew in from California (14 hour flight) to spent thousands of dollars on the cruise to only enjoy our suite for 1 day. The reason we book suites or haven on our previous cruises was to enjoy the amenities - on this cruise we did not get what we paid for. The positive part of this cruise is we enjoyed the great service of the waitress & waiter (they work 7 days a week for 12 to 13 hours daily) and despite not having the usage of our suite, we enjoyed each others company. Hopefully our cruise to Singapore next month would be better. Read Less

The overall cruise was pretty good. The customer service I received prior to boarding was terrible. It makes me mad enough that I can only rate the overall cruise as a 2 (poor). My wife is a greencard holder and mistakenly forgot her card. Upon arriving to Honolulu, we realized this and called Norwegian Customer Service due to the wording of what is needed on Norwegian’s website (one location on the website states a greencard holder needs the card on all cruises (incorrect) and another location says you do not for Hawaiian cruises(correct)). I told the customer service person of our situation and what cruise line we were on. The customer care representative put me on hold to check if my wife would need her card. She told me she checked with her supervisor and you indeed needed the card. She said there would be no way to board and no refund. I figured it was my loss and almost walked away. Especially so, since she said there wasn’t a point for me to go try to get on, since she knows it wouldn’t be possible. Adamantly, I checked with security and was told I do not need it and was able to board. I checked with 3 different security staff members and another person we greeted while embarking. Every person I spoke to confirmed that a greencard holder only needs their state drivers license or another form of government issued ID, since this cruise is an inter island cruise. I almost missed out on this cruise because of some misinformation told by a Norwegian Customer Service Representative who even claimed to ask her supervisor, since she was not sure. If I didn’t check with security, I wouldn’t have known we could have boarded and I would have missed out on the cruise. Very infuriating since I assume this must happen once in a while and those people might have walked away and not even known they were told an inaccurate answer. As for the cruise itself, it was a nice cruise. The ship is on the older side but it is kept well. The staff for the most part are very friendly and helpful. Some staff in the Aloha buffet used stinky rags to wipe tables down so there was a large section other passengers tried to avoid using due to the smell. Food on the cruise ship was okay. Not terrible but not awesome. The food you pay extra for was pretty good though. Disembarkation was kind of chaotic and took a bit longer than what I am used to. However, it wasn’t bad enough to ruin my positive experience with the cruise itself. Read Less

Before posting this, I tried to talk to the Cruise line from several angles WITH ZERO RESPONSE... I am the first to admit, once you get soured against something, it is hard to see the good. I have taken a step back to try and see just what made this cruise so bad. I can guess at the reason some things are the way they are or I can enumerate theissues. ..... This boat is newer and was attractive to us for that reason and the fact we had sailed on MSC before and had a great time. We started out wanting tosail out of Tampa but this one was out of Miami. Unbeknownst to us, that was mistakenumber one. This ship is huge, beautiful and carries a lot of people. It is also surprisingly dirty. Youwould think the inside public areas of the boat would be larger to accommodate them. Not somuch. Many of the things we wanted to do were always closed. The bowling alley,Crape shop and zip line were hardly ever open. The casino and theater were smallerthan any other dozen+ ships I have been on. They ran 3 shows per night to make up forthe lack of seating. ONLY IF YOU MADE A RESERVATION. Everything is done viakiosks located around the ship by scanning your card. You had to scan your credit cardto activate your on board spending account, no people to talk to and in front of everyonebehind you in line. Want to see your pictures? Scan the card. Get into the show? Scanthe card. No reservation? No seat. Change your mind? Go change the reservation.Have an issue come up? Stand in the one available line (always an hour wait). Stores were scattered on several floors and not together. The only thing this ship had more ofwas cabins. As for our cabin, we originally booked an inside cabin as we had planned to dive atevery port. After booking, we find the ship hit most ports at off hours (mid morningarrival or left early) most excursions were limited due to time restraints. We checkedwith 4 or 5 excursion providers and found one short one tank dive in Cozumel and one regular dive in Grand Cayman. None were with the ship or cruise broker. We foundother things to schedule in the other ports only to be told (after paying) the tour wascanceled for one reason or another. This happened twice, once just days before sailing. Due to the lack of availability of the things we wanted to do, we decided to upgrade theroom as we would be spending more time there that anticipated (I think that was thewhole plan by MSC from the beginning). We got a balcony alright, right under the allnight buffet with wooden chairs on a tile floor. Constant dragging of the chairs, runningkids and little sleep. Oh, did I mention the kids? Hundreds of them. Poorly behaved, screaming kids. Whywere they not in school? I travel in the fall after school starts and just after Christmaswhen most kids are sure to be in school. One of the little lovely’s was right across thehall. Joke was on me... That brings me to mistake number one. This cruse had an extraordinary large numberof groups/ family's - 30ish people each, from grandma to newborns. It, no joke, was likean episode of the Kardashians. All the women from 12 to 60 dressed like Snookie withclothes 2 sizes too small. And every time one passed a reflective surface, they came to a stop to check how their butt looked.  They (the women) would cuss and threaten to hit the staff andmade one girl cry. We talked to her (crew member from South America) where webegan to learn "the Miami boats are the worst". They would not wait in line and wouldelbow you out of the way. Stand up in the theater or at dinner and yell and scream at other members of the party (4 and 5 different parties unfolding at once) they truly actedlike they were the only people in the world. As you can gather, after a few days of this, Ihad had enough. Old woman or big young dude, I told them all to get in line likeeveryone else. I was just waiting for someone to bow up. I no longer cared if I got myass kicked; they were going to have it to do. They all looked shocked that some peasantdared to speak to them. I did not have to go to jail or the hospital thankfully. Déclasséjust scratches the surface……This wassomething we did not understand until we got off the ship and were talking to people inKey Largo. Word was that this bad attitude was becoming more and more common in that area. Good manners and social graces were sorely lacking all around. The people were nasty to deal with and that made the staff sour with everyone in general. We had 3 crewmembers that were truly nice (and were tipped extremely well) but the rest were as fed up as I was. I will never sail from Miami again. All in all, a perfect storm of general issues and personal taboos came together to (and Iallowed it to) ruin our time on the ship. Diving with my newly certified wife was priceless. We had great dive boat people as always (divers are a happy bunch) and a much neededrespite from the ship. As soon as we queued to get back on board, you could sense the displeasure. The time touring Vizcaya Museum and Gardens before we got onand Key Largo after? Absolutely beyond reproach. Read Less

Sadly where do I start . We had booked a deluxe cabin and to our shock we saw no deluxe at all, the windows were that bad we could hardly see out of them. The shower was that small with a shower curtain, not deluxe to me. No toiletries apart from a small soap and shower cream canister. we enjoy going to the restaurant , only the first night was the best after that we were rushed every night and the food was not always hot and the plates cold. The staff were rushing around and the tables way to close to one another and the staff were not always attentive. In the end we tried the buffet lounge which I have to say the food was much better and the plates piping hot. Entertainment was awful it was a comedian and then entertainment team no professional dancers. Service in bars were very relaxed , there seemed to be a lack of staff. Found out later that this was coming to end of season and some were going home. We had diesel fumes which circulated around the ship even in our room on deck 8. Later the captain explained there were complaints about diesel fumes , explanation from the captain something about doing something to the tanks to put in an eu directive on fuel. Seems rather strange to do this while there were passengers on board. I had to cancel a trip due to the fumes making me ill because I ahave asthma . This cruise was a very disappointment overall. If it was coming to end of season that should not have made any difference we still payed for our holiday which our ruby anniversary was spoiled all together. Would I go back on this ship no, it was more like a Butlins camp . I would love to hear from other people affected by the fumes. Read Less

We can’t wait to get off this cruise ship. This is the last day of our cruise on the Norwegian Bliss from Vancouver to LA. We stayed in a balcony room in 10246. The room is spacious and modern, but it’s not sound proof enough so we constantly hear the TV from the next room at night when we’re trying to sleep, people “doing it” at night, and just general stomping noises and people slamming their doors. The worst part is the food. It’s terrible. The teppanyaki served really salty food, and the Q Texas had the worst food we’ve had all year. The buffet and main dining rooms also had either really salty or bad food. It’s worse than a mall food court sometimes. The only good meal we had was at Cagneys, but you pay extra for that. Also, the gym was very good with excellent weight machines. The onboard process was long and terrible, and it pissed off a lot of people. We were supposed to board at 7:30pm, and we didn’t board until 10pm because they were disorganized and boarded late. We had 30 minutes to grab something to eat at the extremely crowded buffet (we were not offered food or drinks in the 3-4 hour wait to board the ship) before we were told to go to the muster station. After our Seattle port was cancelled, they offered each stateroom a $100 onboard credit. Nothing we could do about that. However, when we got to SF and had to clear customs, they called floor by floor to try and be efficient, but everyone still had to stand in line for almost an hour. They could have organized it to minimize the wait time. I’ve done customs clearing on another ship and it was done within ten minutes! Just very thoughtless and inconsiderate. The last straw was that we spent $50 to purchase a couple of photos, and the photographer said I could download the digital copy from the Norwegian app. I could not find the photos so I went to the photo station. The guy then told me that if I wanted the digital copies, I’d have to pay another $50 for the two photos. I asked if I could exchange the physical prints for the digital copies, he said no, you have to buy the prints first, then you can buy the digital copies. That would cost $100 for two photos! We will not cruise with Norwegian again. Going to try Celebrity next based on other equally unhappy cruisers’ suggestion! Read Less

Rancid bacon at breakfast 30 % of staff unfriendly self serve ice cream was not and the server seemed intent on breaking the machine. put the ice cream part of the cone in my hand !! "can i get a napkin ?" pointed and grunted! A lot of broken equipment in spa . Room was very clean and room attendant excellent Head waiter and waiter excellent ... Assistant waiter new ,, never got a single drink order we asked for ( day 3 on we brought drinks to the dining room . Food quality ( heat ) poor , some nice tastes , however mostly cold food .. Our table mates sent their food back 4 times ... Selection was not great but adequate .. Left the dining room on 2 occasions headed buffet for hot food and better desert. Comedians great ,, dancing almost non existent .. no entertainment staff around for dancing music . Bridge crew smoking in non smoking areas ! Seems they have a few very very good crew trying to train newbies or crew that have been demoted. disembarking with no bags took 90 minutes. Summary it seems cheap , overall average price .. book a newer ship with better crews and better food . Read Less

Been on 5 cruises total. This was my first with Norwegian and I'm sad to say it will be my last. We traveled with a group of ten, ages ranging from 35 to 65, all who have cruised before and all were pretty disappointed. The bars were not staffed for the amount of people needing to be served, and if you wanted to enjoy any shows, comedy clubs, or entertainment, you better make sure you make a reservation the moment you get on board and plan your whole week out right away. Which is not something they tell you. Without a reservation you are unable to enjoy the entertainment they have. I have never had to book to see shows on a ship. We did manage to get into the rock of ages show!! Super amazing, if you get a reservation I highly recommend it. I've also never had to have a reservation for the free normal evening dining. The food is so so. I was not impressed. We enjoyed three of the specialty restaurants along with the normal Buffett and evening dining, the only one I was impressed with was the French restaurant. The service in the restaurants was wonderful as well as our room service and staff. However when out and about on the boat I found it odd to not see staff members waiting on guest or seeing if guests needed drinks etc. The atmosphere for myself and the group I went with was way to laid back. The whole ship was quiet most of the time including leaving port. Missed the music, dancing and excitement that usually comes with a cruise to the Caribbean. Lastly the two shore excursions we did were wonderful. I've been to Tabayana beach more than once it's still one of my favorites for snorkeling. We also did four wheeling in Cozumel, this too was wonderful. Have nothing bad to say about the ports. Overall this was the most expensive cruise I've been on, with the poorest overall service and enjoyment. Read Less

Told this USED TO BE a great cruise line. Times have changed tremendously!! Definitely a 3rd rate ship in need of professional leadership at the corporate level. The ship is run as though they going broke!! You pay for two fares for you and your partner, then are told the so called free internet can only be used by one of you at a time??? Or you can pay an additional $270 for the other person. They allow one bar of shower soap for two people to last 2 weeks. The same with the small bottles of lotion and shampoo ! Of course, you can purchase more.... Food quality has definitely declined significantly!!!! And the portions are meager as you almost beg for more. Waiters have been ordered not to ask would you like another drink, unless it is one you are buying. We would never cruise with Oceania again. Caveat emptor.. Read Less
