This was my first time to cruise with Regent and was unimpressed. On the whole the service was good but felt they had a lot of new staff being trained. Ship is older and fewer amenities but in good shape. Smoking infiltrated all of us anytime we were near a smoking area or the casino. Why is any cruise line catering to the .5% of people who smoke to the detriment of the other 99.5%? The buffet food was horrible. Received a text while already in nyc saying there was a technical error with the ship preventing the prior cruise from getting to port on-time. My 10am check in was changed to 3-6pm. The lines were horrible, stood in the line for over 3 hours with no bathroom accessibility or seats. Compared to previous Princess cruises, this was definitely a step down in service, food, entertainment. The ambiance of cruising was not there. No dress code for the MDR.
