This was a holiday cruise with my family (all adults).
Embarkation: Sailing out of Port Canaveral it was fairly busy with other ships loading/unloading that day but getting through the check in and on board was a swift and painless process.
Dining/Food: The specialty restaurants were delicious. I've been on a few NCL cruises but this was the first time I went to a Cagney's (which we did for ...
This cruise was chosen as a Christmas holiday cruise with the family and celebrating a 50th Birthday as well. There were 4 of us and we had optioned for 2 rooms. Overall the cruise was a fun getaway to some amazing ports of call. I will have to say embarkation and disembarkation was better than I ever could have imagined. We literally were off the ship and in the shuttle in under 30 minutes by ...
This is my 2nd NCL cruise and I would say they did a good job generally but I might have had a better experience with a smaller ship on maybe an Oceania ship. NCL gets you there and sells you the excursions - at inflated prices- for you to get the feel of the country. Oceania gets you closer to a city port, avoiding tendering, gives you a substantive lecture pre-arrival so you have some feel for ...
We wanted to go to Antarctica for an affordable price and were excited when Princess started offering trips there again after 8 years. We took our 2 kids (ages 6 and 8) and my brother even brought his 1 year old daughter.
Pros:
1) Antarctica is truly beautiful and amazing.
2) The Falkland Islands were great and the tours are all in personal vehicles so you get a very small group as you ...
Review of the Divina 12/20/19 to 12/27/19
Ship:
• Beautiful; lots of character and elegance (loved the crystal staircases)
• Ship is immaculate and no matter what time of day, someone was cleaning somewhere
• Ship was LARGE ... 4,345 passengers and 1,388 crew members; decided we like the smaller (under 3000) ships; less crowds
• Lots of awareness for hand sanitizing and if the ...
We chose this cruise because we had been on one that ended in Athens almost 2 years ago and my husband got sick (we were quarantined to the stateroom on our last day and missed the excursion in Athens). There was a special deal on the first 8 days of the 14 night Mediterranean Antiquities cruise, beginning in Athens and ending with disembarkation in Rome. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day were at ...
Short summary - My wife and I will cruise princess again, we have already started looking at options for late 2020. Cruising is quite different from the way we normally vacation, and that is okay. Cruising will not replace our long-haul flight jaunts but will add a much-needed supplement to our often exhausting vacations. We had an amazing time at our own pace.
The lengthy version, read on at ...
Embarkation and Disembarkation
As Elite members, embarkation was a breeze. We did not obtain our Medallions in advance, because we figured the priority line wouldn’t be too long and we were right. On our last cruise, we did obtain our Medallions in advance and it was a lot of fiddling to get them done, plus we had to remember to pack them. The non-priority lines were much longer, so may be ...
I chose this cruise because of the last minute special I found on a cruise website. I read many reviews and was skeptical but overall I am very happy about my trip. There were some food items that did not taste great, but since you can order any and everything off the menu or make other selections in the buffet, that is what I did. I enjoyed all my meals. I did not get sick from anything or sea ...
My sister and I took this cruise because we both had wanted to go to Athens, and we had never done that. We are both over 80 years old and have mobility problems. On the boat, everything was fine. Shore excursions less so. We did not realize that there were enrichment and entertainment options, Our fault, we did not look at the daily briefings. We both wanted to go to Knossos, but the boat ...
