Germany on das boat the Mosel and Rhine

Review for Emerald Sky to Europe - River Cruise

First time emerald cruisers an overall great experience. Have been on Viking for the Portugal through the Douro Valley. Food, cabin, staff and overall boat accommodations on par with Viking. Emerald could do better in the cultural experience we found the evening entertainment lacking just a bit. Although our activities director was fantastic but too many game nights. A German cooking class, or ...

Avalon's Imagery II was outstanding

Review for Avalon Imagery II to Europe - All

I wish I could give Avalon's ship, crew, and itinerary 10 stars because it was outstanding in every way. The meals were so beautifully prepared and presented - with all the wine you want from the local region. The entire crew did their job with a smile and couldn't do more for each one of the passengers. The ship was spotless and our beds comfortable. My room attendant, Nemo, brightened my day ...

First time Emerald Cruiser Moselle and Rhine

Review for Emerald Sky to Europe - River Cruise

Went on the cruise with friends. We had previously sailed with AMA on the Danube and Viking in Portugal. Food, cabins, staff and ships are all comparable with previous experiences. Overall was a fun trip and we enjoyed ourselves. Found that there are less active options ( we are in our late 50s) than our previous experiences. There are excursions but they seem to be rushed and less time allowed to ...

Fantastic Experience from booking to Disembarkation!

Review for AmaDante to Europe - All

We chose this cruise specifically for the itinerary which included stops in Giverney to visit Monet's house and gardens and more importantly Le Havre providing an all day excursion to the Normandy D-Day beaches. As a first time river cruiser I have nothing to compare our experience to but I am only left with wonderful memories of our cruise. Embarkation was a breeze-check your name off the list, ...

Review for American Heritage (formerly Queen of the Mississippi) to U.S.A.

Crew and staff were very friendly and helpful. Training was extremely poor and turnover in kitchen servers lost 40% over the trip with only 20% refilled. This made the hotel manager and his managers to fill in all over the ship. The hotel manager had to show the room help how to properly turn the room down@ night. The bathroom mirror was never cleaned during the 10 day trip. Our room was directly ...

The worst and most expensive cruise we have ever done

Review for American Queen to U.S.A.

This was a bucket list holiday for my husband and I travelling from Minneapolis, Minnesota to New Orleans. We paid over £6000 each for a 14 day holiday - a majority of Americans paid $20,000 per cabin. We travelled from Redwing Minneapolis to New Orleans in an inside cabin. This was the cheapest cabin available. Our holiday started on 12th September and ended 26th September 2022. The weather ...

Review for Viking Modi to Europe - All

User Avatar

This was our first river cruise (two single ladies) and we didn't know what to expect. The crew on the Modi were exceptional. The food was very good. Our only disappointment were the included excursions as they were all walking tours and took up a great deal of time especially when in the ports where we didn't have a great deal of time to spend. I would suggest they upgrade their included ...

OVER-THE-TOP EXPERIENCE

Review for Aqua Nera to Amazon River

User Avatar

Having wanted to cruise the Amazon for many years and waited for the right opportunity, finally along came the Nera, a newly launched river boat promising all the luxuries mixed with excursions that I had hoped for.... and did it ever deliver! Part of the adventure was getting to and from Iquitos/Nauta Town to meet the boat. Not an easy journey by any stretch of the imagination. During high ...

Review for Scenic Azure to Europe - River Cruise

User Avatar

First Time Cruiser • Age 70s

This is a great river cruise up the beautiful River Douro. The scenery is really beautiful with lots of high hills and, at times, narrow gorges. We both really enjoyed the trips we went on, our guides were very informative, helpful and amusing! Great variety of trips to choose from. As this is quite a hilly region most of the trips required a coach (1 was just over 2 hours, rest were under 1 ...
