COVID without concern

Review for a Europe - River Cruise Cruise on Viking Tir

Cruiser who got COVID

I was shocked when many of the people cruising were coughing and staying in their staterooms, the staff of the ship did nothing to investigate or limit the transmission of COVID to other passengers. My wife and I tried to stay distanced from those who were symptomatic. But when I became ill on day 8 and tested positive for COVID, I asked what the company policy was for COVID. I was told by the ...

Not that impressed with Viking Cruises.

We've only been on two Viking cruises and i think we are done with this company. The ships to us are very basic and amenities provided during the cruise were really minimal. I would rate this company and mid-range and certainly not luxury level. I felt the port stops for Viking were extremely inconvenient and they would frequently provide misleading descriptions of walking distances such as ...

This was our Third Viking River cruise and our 6th viking cruise....It will be our last! We chose this cruise because we had done a Viking Christmas Market cruise before and we had a credit left over from covid that was due to expire. In retrospect, I should have let the credit expire! Evidently this was a fairly new itinerary and, for sure, one that Viking new nothing about. In at least two ...

Empress not up to standard of American Queen

Review for a U.S.A. Cruise on American Empress

This company has gone down hill. This was our second cruise with American Queen. We took the Queen from New Orleans to Memphis in Nov 2019. It was amazing; great food; great service; great tours. We were so excited to go on another cruise after the success of our first one. We were so disappointed with the Empress. Between the cruise and airfare, we (my husband and I) paid almost $10,000. ...

Ship tacky, service nice, after service terrible

Review for a Europe - River Cruise Cruise on S.S. Catherine

This was our first river cruise. Cruise ship super tacky. Decor very off putting . We were disappointed with the rigid schedule . The tours we tried were not very good. Dinner menu great but only one choice of when to dine. We would have prefered more flexibility, like a more casual dining option. The so called included ‘ Premium wine ‘ was very poor. I mean it is a French river cruise but the ...

We booked the Paris & Normandy Cruise on 4th November 2023 after attending a very professional presentation at our local travel agency. I was impressed by the Scottish Business Development Manager's assurances that AmaWaterways always delivers an excellent guest experience. Although disappointed that there were several fairly significant changes to the original itinerary published in the ...

4 Things Viking doesn’t tell you about their Duoro River cruise

1) The 106-passenger ship is too small for “Exploring the World in Comfort”. Standard “staterooms” are really just bedrooms with no sitting area and an average of 20” on each side of the bed. There is no gym, walking track, medical room, theater, or specialty restaurants. If you choose not to go on an excursion, there is nothing to do but sit in the lounge and look at the view or chat with ...

Uniworld packages 3 voyages together as "Ultimate France", this covers week 3. There is no bistro on-board this ship & there were 147 passengers onboard - this might be why dining room service suffered during week 3. Housekeeping:- cabin was clean and well maintained. Food: By week 3, it was very obvious that dishes at dinner were repeating weekly (eg; foie gras brioche, baked Alaska, ...

We stayed at Marriott prior to trip. No one reached out to let us know we were not going on boat due to water level. We happened to reach out concerning transferring luggage. It was that moment that we learned that we wouldn’t board ship. There was a meeting to discuss issue. We were not initially invited. We rushed over and caught end of the meeting. We were lost. First day was a Budapest ...

Uniworld packages 3 voyages together as "Ultimate France", this covers week 2. Ship #2: Joie de Vivre It too had a bistro that you could book for dinner instead of the main dining room. Housekeeping:- cabin was clean and well maintained. There were about 120 passengers on board. About 40 continued on to Ship #3. Food: In week 2, I started to notice that many dishes were ...
