Our recent 7 day river cruise on the AMAdante included the Moselle, Rhine and the Mein rivers. When traveling on the Mein river the upper deck was closed for most of last 3 days of the cruise. It appeared to be because of the low bridges, but there was no explanation nor was upper deck opened in between the bridges. This greatly limited the outdoor space for the passengers and forced the smokers ...
Interesting and exciting itinerary or so I thought. First full day in Yangon scenic free choice all customers were on one trip (no antiques market or arts or crafts tours) only trip to village not to my taste going round market which was smelly with flies crawling over meat and fish.ferry crossing alright. Hotel in Yangon was very good. Full day to ship .packed lunch inedible.
Ship staff ...
We chose the The Grand European Tour with Viking because we liked the itinerary and heard some very favorable reviews about the Viking River Cruise Line in general.
Our flights worked out well (except for a few seat & schedule changes), and the pre cruise 2 night stay at the Movenpic Hotel in Amsterdam was fine.
We had a standard stateroom #115 which was small but well appointed and our ...
We were invited to a wine cruise by our wine club. We have been contemplating a river cruise for years. This cruise offered a three day end in Barcelona which is a destination we both were excited about.
I t was everything and more we than we were expecting. The staff was amazing! The food was delicious. Our chef and his staff were so professional and the food was a work of art. Our cruise ...
I had been recommended the Moselle and having already sailed the Rhine this combination seemed a good mix, however was not at all impressed when we could not use the top deck for half the holiday (while we were on the River Main). This should have been mentioned in your description of the holiday. When you have approx 160 people on board and the only outside seating is for approx 40 on the ...
Having been on and enjoyed the Budapest to Amsterdam cruise we were looking forward to the 15 day Bordeaux cruise and we were not disappointed when came to the standard of food and service on both AmaDolce and AmaCello. Lovely ships with excellent staff and crew.We were also more than satisfied with the Rhone and Soane rivers with the standard of entertainment, shore visits and attractions. All ...
Cabin was fine, the same size as other cabins but this ship is not a spaceship and has been renovated and converted so the cabin is nowhere near as good as the other scenic ships. The staff on board are great, very helpful and accommodating the best staff we have ever had on a cruise, they were wonderful.
The food was fair only, drinks were only offered free with meals and often hard to ...
Very modern ship and I would liken it to a 4 star hotel that moves. The receptionists were friendly and knowledgeable, Concierge service was there if needed (and it was for a hospital visit!).
On embarkation, all the centre of town moorings were taken in Basel - but a coach took us from the industrial wasteland mooring in to town and a walking tour was offered. Very good and barely noticed the ...
I had been to Germany on several occasions and wanted to show my wife some of the places I had been. We chose Emerald Waterways as it appeared to fit our requirements. Overall it was a pleasant holiday and the crew and staff on the Emerald Sun are excellent. Breakfast and lunch are good with also the option of having a light breakfast and a light lunch.. Dinner was not an enjoyable experience, I ...
We did our first river cruise in August on the Viking Egil. We had a pleasant time but not an exceptional time. Wee were very frustrated by three things: 1) we had received a $200 referral credit from some friends who had used Viking but the credit never showed up in our account despite a call to Viking in June confirming the amount and our our August cruise. Certainly feels like Viking ...
