This was our 36th Cruise overall and my 5th with NCL. For the past 7 years, we have cruised exclusively with Celebrity and have never found anything negative. Let me begin with positive comments. The entertainment was outstanding! Best ever on any cruise we have been on. The performers very talented. The cruise director Andre, was great. This was a 15 day transatlantic cruise and he made sure to schedule shows in the afternoon during the crossing. The food was inedible in the 2 main restaurants. The meat was tough, the chicken was like rubber, the side vegetables and soup was always cold. The buffet choices were very limited. The portions were unbelievably small. In the buffet, a turkey sandwich contained one thin slice of turkey. We actually took 6 sandwiches apart to make one sandwich. At breakfast I ordered a bagel with cream cheese and smoked salmon. I was server a half bagel with a smear of cream cheese that was barely visible to the naked eye. We had the ultimate drink package which allowed us to drink any brand of wine, liquor or any cocktail that was priced up to $15. That was great, but, it did not include water. There was a charge for water. We ate at four specialty restaurants. Cagney steak house was great. Tapanyake was wonderful and the Italian restaurant was also very good. However, Le Bistro was a big disappointment. They were completely disorganized. We were 4 at our table. 3 meals were served and the 4th meal was served 10 minutes later. Service was horrible. Food quality was no better than their regular restaurant. This is the first cruise that I have taken where Lobster Tails were not served on the last night. The last nights meal was no different than the other inedible meals. Embarkation was very easy. Debarkation was a nightmare. The luggage was on a carousel justly like the airports use. After wailing 20 minutes and not seeing any of our luggage, a fellow passenger told us that he found his bags against a back wall of the terminal. We went to the was and found our luggage. There were about 100 pieces of luggage there while nervous passengers were watching the carousel. I will never sail with NCL again. Read Less

We thought Regent Seven Seas was a "premium" cruise line. It's not. From the first day there were problems. In our cabin, we tried to turn on the tv to see the safety information. The tv didn't work, so we tried to call someone to fix the tv. The phone didn't work either. One night we turned on the bathroom faucet and muddy, dirty water came out and didn't clear up until the next day or so. Another night the toilet didn't work. Our bathroom door wouldn't shut. After workmen came to fix it, when they left we tried to open it and the handle fell off. The food was mediocre. The waitstaff in the restaurants kept getting the orders wrong, or forgot to bring orders at all. The reception clerks were perfunctory and didn't seem to know what they were doing. The "unlimited" wi-fi either didn't work at all on some days or on other days it was intermittent and slow. There was a big leak in our bathroom. Our shower didn't drain, so we showered in pools of water. The women's public rest rooms had broken toilet seats and doors. The wallpaper on one of the walls in our cabin was peeling off, so workmen had to come in and replace it. We had hoped for a relaxing and pleasant cruise, but with the constant stream of workmen coming in and out of our cabin to fix things, it was one interruption after another. By the end of the cruise, I had a serious eye infection and both my wife and I had severe allergy problems, probably from exposure to all the work dust and fumes. Maybe things changed when Regent was taken over by Norwegian Cruise Lines and Apollo Mgt. That's what other passengers told us. They are obviously trying to cut back and have turned what may have once been an upscale cruise line into a mediocre one, certainly not worth the money they charge. Read Less

This was a repositioning cruise right after dry dock. Embarking was delayed for inspections. The passengers were told to wait in the terminal....except the terminal was FULL so they moved more people to a different terminal. We sat outside on a bench for 3 hours with no water or facilities. When we were permitted inside another wait. Got to our room and asked our room steward for a wedge for the head of the bed. He didn't know what we were talking about so he asked his housekeeping supervisor who also had no idea. We met the Hotel Manager, Carlo, at the Cruise Critic meet and greet and asked him for some help. finally got what we needed after the first night. At dinner, for an apology by the captain and offered a FREE wine or beer. I asked for a diet coke instead and was told there would be a charge for the diet coke. Remember beer and wine were FREE. Our assistant waiter was a disaster, our poor waiter needed to do both jobs. She couldn't carry the food from the kitchen to the dining room so the waiter carried 10 meals, she carried 3. The drinks were never refilled, the tables were not cleared. She just stood around. As an elite, we get free laundry. We put the laundry in 4 days before disembarkation in Barcelona. We hadn't got the closes back, so we were forced to go to the laundromat because we ran out of clean clothes. We screamed and hollered for our laundry to be returned so that we could pack. The WET laundry was returned at 9:30PM.....and we still had to pack. The best part of this cruise was disembarking...This is only a few of the problems we encountered Read Less

This was the worst cruise we have been on in over 60 cruises. The ship was in Dry Dock and when it came out it really was not ready for guests. When we reached our cabin we found some ones excrement in the bowl in our bathroom. When we told our cabin person he told us he had let guest services know about it and that the bowl would not flush in the morning, and they still had not taken care of it. We waited about an hour till it was taken care of, but no one came to sanitize it. We will be getting in touch with the CDC about this situation. They really had no idea who came to the muster drill, the scanner was not working, and no one took cabin numbers, putting everyone on board in danger in the event of real trouble at sea. We went to dinner and when we came back my wife went in for a shower, when she came out of the shower she realized there was no towels or robes in the bathroom, just the bath mat. I called down for towels 3 times, it took close to an hour before they were brought to the cabin. my wife dried herself with the bath mat. We had no air conditioning For the first two days they said it was fixed but it was not. We had to have someone work on our bowl in the bathroom 3 or four times. The same with the air conditioning. The first 7 days of this 14 day cruise where pure hell, the second 7 days where better. We sent food back more times on this cruises then we have in our 60+ cruises before this, and so did our table mates. We have 3 more Princess cruises booked, and are about to cancel them! Read Less

We chose this cruise for the Itinerary. Unfortunately the captain canceled Oregon port due to weather and said they would sail straight to Nanaimo from San Francisco. The service on this ship was really lacking, compared with previous cruises we have been on. The staff do not seem to be happy or enjoy what they are doing, with the exception of a few. Light fixtures in hallway dripping water, so we had to step over a soaked/stinky carpet outside our door. We mentioned to our steward & showed him, he just said he knew & had made someone aware but no one comes to fix it. It left us wondering if that's what we can quiet visible see, then what can't we see. Lost luggage that we had to find ourselves. Pre-paid room order had to be called for 4 times over 3 hours before it arrived. Sewer smell came & went for the 3 days we were onboard, we disembarked at San Fransciso on the 3rd of 7 nights! We chose this Cruise on the Crown Princess because of the variety of ports for 25 days. It had just come out of dry dock and full of problems...leaks in many places, laundry facilities not working, vibrations, late and unprepared check-in and the worst selection of food lacking any imagination. The hallways had ripped wall paper, the cabin carpeting was old and the ship had an elevator that had water leakage, so it was closed most of the cruise. The entertainment was very good. However, there was boring lectures during the day; no exciting topics. The manager of the Customer Relations was very rude to several people when they were upset about the laundry facilities not working. When we expressed our problems with this cruise, the Captains Club manger said "You should have booked a newer ship". The theater on the ship was too small and filled. In order to get a seat, you had to be there 1/2 hour early. The fitness activities were lacking classes. The shore excursions from the ship were above average tour guides.Thank goodness for Cruise Critic...we were able to sign up ahead of time for duplicate bridge games and everyone was so kind. My husband and I travel quiet often. Love cruises but this one was the worse. We booked the 25 days, Ft. Lauderdale - Rome. Bad from the start. We were notified to be at the terminal at 2 PM., so we did. They had us sitting on very uncomfortable chairs until 6 PM. Had no idea why, never a reason, never an apology. The next day, the Captain offered us a free glass of wine (cheap one) for the inconvenience. The story continues: Will not get on a Princess ever again. Except for 3 days, the food at the main restaurant was "cafeteria quality". Juice and regular coffee only free during breakfast hours. After that, $$$$. We had a mini-suite D202, and for one whole week, we kept reporting that the bathtub was clogged. It took one week to repair it. The quality of the soap, shampoo, etc, provided was terrible. We had to buy toiletries at the first port we touched. They had the worse entertainment ever and on booked excursions, on each one, they made us wait on the designated meeting place for one and a half hour before moving on. They even played some video clips (advertisement) to keep us calm. You get up at 6 AM to be there on time and then, they waste 2 hours of our time with no explanation. We purchased the maximum Internet plan. I believe is 600 minutes, well, we consumed all of them TRYING to connect to the system. The worse Internet system I have experienced on a ship. We feel that they had no respect for the passengers. NEVER AGAIN. By the way, we paid for a balcony mini suite. D202. Read Less

We take two cruises a year with Princess, and are members of the Elite Status in the Captains Circle, and we liked the Trans-Atlantic Cruise we took last year so we decided to take this one because it was going to Ports we never been to before. I turned out to be the wrong decision since this ship had problems from the very start. Coming out of dry dock, we expected a sparkly clean ship ready for a lot of cruises. The ship had rust over many places on the outside hull, our room wasn't clean, carpets were being replaced during the cruise in the common areas and you could smell the adhesive so we avoided those common areas, our room needed to have the carpet replaced it was stained so badly and air freshener doesn't cover old dirty smells in the room, we sent laundry of the cleaners and the clothes came back with dark spots on the clothes and the clothes smelled terrible. We like to sleep with the balcony door open at night, but the door between our balcony and a neighbor's balcony banged all night so we closed our door, but then the air conditioner with it set to the lowest level didn't cool the room down. The walls in our room creaked all night and the bathroom door did the same. The new beds were nice, but we couldn't get a good night sleep for the whole cruise. My room key had to be replaced 3 times during the cruise and the staff at the Purser's desk went from being helpful to rude for myself and other passengers who went up to get our keys redone. I stood behind one passenger that had a key problem as well as complaints about their toilet not working for the first 3 days of the cruise and they had to use public restrooms. The man wanted another room and the person at the Purser's desk told him "We can't change anyone's room just because they don't like their room". The mats in the gym were so worn out that people put pool towels on top of them to cover the worn spots. Since we cruise enough with Princess, we get to know their menu's for dining and it seems they don't change them. The menu's had the same thing each night starting with the first night to the last night that we've had for the last four years worth of cruising. Horizon Court isn't that great of an option. We feel the food there on this ship as well as other ships has gone downhill for some time. My wife even got a rancid muffin one morning in the Horizon Court! We don't go on cruises to eat hamburgers and pizza, but we choose to eat those items since at least they were consistent. The positives were the staff from the Lotus Spa were the best group we've ever had and the water we drank was great. Those two items don't negate the other negatives from this cruise. It's sad when you have to claim drinking water as being a highlight of your cruise. We always put a deposit down for our next cuise and we didn't this time. We just feel that Princess is starting to have too many issues beginning with maintenance like their parent company Carnival. We contacted Princess' customer service about all of the issues we had on this cruise and when the representative called me about everything he clearly didn't like hearing from someone who cruises a lot with them about all of the problems we experienced. His offer to us to make us happy was a $150.00 per person credit on our next cruise. Maybe Princess feels that is satisfactory. We felt it was insulting. I wasn't expecting a free cruise, but an offer of booking an inside cabin with a no charge upgrade to a balcony plus some dollar credit would have been acceptable. We've cruised a number of other lines and know what to expect from them. We'll take our dollars over them next time since Princess Lost Us! Read Less

We chose to do a repositioning cruise on the Viking Sea in March of 2018 from San Juan to Barcelona. We have sailed over a dozen times on other cruise lines, predominately Seabourn and have done four other trans-Atlantic cruises, but were intrigued by the pictures and reviews of these new ships. First the good: The Viking Sea was a beautiful ship with spacious public areas. We loved the clean Scandinavian design and our lovely PV1 cabin. The Mediocre: The food. Perhaps we are spoiled by the exceptional cuisine on Seabourn, but we found the dining experience on the Viking Sea to be very disappointing. With the exception of the specialty restaurants (which were limited to two visits per cruise) the food and service in the main dining room were mediocre at best. There was never enough wait staff, the food was not very good, and the tables were jammed so close together that any thought of a romantic meal for two was impossible. In general we were surprised at the poor level of service on the boat (again compared to Seabourn.) While sitting around the pool, it was rare for anyone to come offer even a drink of water, let alone something alcoholic. This meant one of us (including my handicapped husband) had to go to the bar, order a drink, and carry it back. The Horrible: My husband suffers from Afib, a heart condition for which he has been treated for two years. Prior to leaving on this cruise, he was cleared to sail by his cardiologist in Florida. On day 9 of our cruise, he went to see the ship's doctor because he was having some symptoms related to this condition. The doctor prescribed a new drug, and he felt fine. On day 11, we took a private land excursion to Tangiers which tired him out. The next morning (shortly after we docked in Cadiz, Spain) he decided to see the doctor again, just to be sure he was okay. After running some tests (which concluded my husband had NOT had a heart attack) the doctor announced that "because the next day would be a sea day" he could not risk having us on board. We were told to summarily pack our things, leave the ship, and go to a local hospital in Cadiz. In a state of shock we complied. We spent the next 7 days in a hospital in Cadiz (where most of the staff did not speak English.) My husband was given an IV for hydration and hooked up to a monitor. And we waited and waited and waited for 4 DAYS to see a cardiologist. When he finally arrived, he did a short test, added a beta blocker (a drug my husband had previously taken) and said we were "cleared to fly." Hurray! But no, our Viking trip insurance company "Trip Mate," now responsible for getting us back to Florida, declared we must have a "medical escort" home. This, despite the fact that all the doctors at the Cadiz hospital said this was UNNECESSARY. So...we waited 3 MORE DAYS for a nurse to fly in from Colorado to accompany us home. THEN THE REAL KICKER.......Trip Mate just sent us a bill for $2,000 for my air ticket home, because it exceeded their limit for that class of service. It was the SAME class of service we had booked for our original flight home from Barcelona. In short...we missed the last three days of our cruise, spent seven nights in a foreign hospital, suffered considerable stress and discomfort, for ABSOLUTELY NO REASON. My husband, according to ALL the doctors in the Cadiz hospital, was medically fine to continue the cruise. He has been fine since we returned home. The Viking doctor made a mistake when he sent us off the boat. Now they want to charge us $2,000 more for his poor judgement. This is unconscionable and unacceptable. We do not intend to pay this bill, will never sail on Viking again, and have told all of our friends to beware of this cruise line. Read Less

We chose this cruise because we wanted to see the Mediterranean. To that end it achieved all we wanted. Although given that it happened over the Easter period you would have thought that the cruise line would have known that some of the ports of call would have been closed on certain days because of religious sensitivities and that they could have arranged the itineraries some what differently. Apart from the service given by our waiters and cabin steward I found in general that the service on the ship was poor. The food was not to my liking as I prefer plain cooking, in fact this was the first cruise that I have been on where I lost weight. The reception desk staff were worse than useless and could not or would not give any help at all. The entertainment was excellent particularly the Headliners. The shore excursions were typical of excursions that all cruise lines book and were no better or worse than any others. The ship could have offered a little more organisation to disembark for the tours other than a short line in the daily paper saying to proceed ashore a little before departure and find your coach. The ship is in bad need of a complete overhaul. We ran on one engine most of our 16 day cruise as the other engine blew on previous cruise. Our ports of call, with the exception of Panama Canal and Cayman Islands, were awful. We had a really bad experience on a ship excursion beach trip in Manta Ecuador. Everyone on the trip complained but they would only refund 50% of the cost of the trip even though they admitted it was very bad. This was our first and last cruise on Celebrity. It’s back to RCL for us! Celebrity is NOT a step up from RCL as we’d been told. They don’t know how to take care of their passengers! The food was very mediocre but the entertainment was good most nights. I thought the crew seemed tired and ready for a break. We are diamond members on RCL and were elite on Celebrity. We were given coupons to be used in the lounge between 5-7 for 3 drinks per person. Never had that before. Read Less

We have just returned from the "Cruise from HELL" aboard NCL Sun. During our 15 night cruise, there was construction going on. There was insulation blowing around, paint dust blowing everywhere, the muster station doors were closed off during DAYS of our cruise, the pool area was closed for a few days, sanding the decks, drilling, jack hammering etc from sun up until around midnight EVERY NIGHT. Our cruise was a complete DISASTER!! There was between 15% - 30% of the ship CLOSED on all days! A few of the specialty restaurants NEVER opened during the entire vacation. Many people have been sick with respiratory issues due to the nauseous fumes of the products they have been using while passengers are on board this cruise ship. The Sun is scheduled to be on dry dock for more renovations, but yet NCL chose to also inconvenience its passengers and put us all in danger as many of the Emergency meeting stations were not accessible while they were refinishing the deck floors on deck 6, the meeting deck. STAY AWAY from NCL! They don't care about their passengers...only saving money! This ship was quite old and dated. Many times, there was industrial fans running down the hallways as there were plumbing leaks. The crew did do the best they could during this situation. I particularly enjoyed Victor at the bar deck 11 aft. He was always smiling and trying his best. Room was OK. Read Less

I am glad this was only a 3 day sampler. I read dozens of reviews prior and decided people must be super fussy, that after all the cruise line info detailing how wonderful everything is, the reviews detailing how awful everyting is must be wrong, people must be too demanding. Staff were hurrying at 8.30pm to take food trays away, there was nothing available after that. We got a "PIZZA" delivered first night, it was crust, a wipe of tomato paste and six pieces of salami, no cheese nothing else on it and it was wet and sloppy like it had been in water or something. We paid for a balcony cabin, bottom of door to balcony and hinges were rusted, decor was like Las Vegas in the 1960s, all brown and dark, staff we saw, although we did not approach them for anything, were surly to passengers who did request something. We ate at the so-called restaurant on the second night, main meal consisted of a scrape of balsamic vinegar, ONE PRAWN and one undercooked potato in the skin. I AM NOT JOKING. No butter, no bread, I simply could not believe it. Brochure said dress up for dinner, they were letting in people in tee shirts, shorts and thongs. Made a mockery of dressing up. Went to back of ship, several lounges had books or towels on them, (this was 7.30am) things had been left there overnight as they were all wet. Hokey entertainment, in total a truly disappointing experience. I will never cruise again. Wont go on about everything else. But now I believe what people write about their cruise experiences. Breakfasts were good though. Only meal that was satisfactory. Read Less

-Three meals took two hours -Locked out of cabin because of battery failure, no supervisor around to open cabin, no process to identify when battery failing or rather process exists but is ignored because of cost of replacing door battery. Better to wait until passengers locked out I guess -laundry lost, subsequently found -ship out of many supplies such as wine by the glass, applesauce, watermelon, and a number of other items -not all items on various menus are available -disembarkation took over 4 hours, 2 pm flight from LAX missed. Princess stood us up for over two hours without water, washrooms or food. No senior staff visible. Blamed customs and staff seemed more interested in the “turnover” of the ship than the passengers disembarking. As well created two classes of passengers as confirmed by customs and princess staff. A princess supervisor made the decision to get US citizens off boat first, leaving citizens of all other countries to wait in a longer line. They also decided to move their in transit passengers (these are people staying on the boat) ahead of the people who were late for their flights. Numerous princess staff promised help would be at the airport for flights but if any were there we did not see them nor did airline staff know about them. Princess kept blaming customs but only 8 custom kiosks for close to 3000 people. Clearly insufficient. Princess is responsible for putting boat at that pier. -serving staff not always around at the self serve dining area -bus yours took longer than expected. Again princess blamed others but the tour guides on the buses were aware of the longer time needed (due to start of local holidays and impact on traffic). Why is it if the guides on the buses know this princess does not? -lots of people holding seats for themselves in various areas of the ship and as far as I could tell, other than the princess theatre not being addressed. -pester you to do repairs on the cabin All in all I would say this cruise line is structured to reduce the cost of a passenger by as much as possible. This is not the type of cruise you would have received even 10 years ago, let alone 30. Read Less

My second transatlantic cruise. I had a great experience last year on another company. This year friends invited me to go back on a transatlantic and experience MSC Divina. Could not been worse. To start with there was a lot of people with a very bad cold. I got a cold. The doctor on the sheep was kind of okay. The nurse touch my prescription tablets with her bare hands. The food from the “food court” was so boring. There was a mix of food smells that was very unpleasant. The egg station iwas so egg smelling. I eat and like eggs. However did not eat any because the smell was so strong. The paid restaurants are all italians. Entertainment? maybe two or three nights at the theater were okay. The service on the cabins and the waiters was good. The employees at the guest service could not been more rude. I had a very derespectful person when I went to ask them to take out a case of wine out from my billing because i did not bought any wine. He was defiant and made me feel like I had no right to make a complain. I do not have space here to write about my friend’s walker that did not make to the ship from Fort Lauderdale port. They underestimate the passagens capacity and/ or intelligence. Did not enjoy at all. I do not recomend and now I do not want to go even in another cruise line because I am afraid to have the same bad experience. Read Less

To start with we are loyal Royal Caribbean guests, however after going on 5 cruises on Allure, Harmony, Ovation, Explorer of the seas we wanted to try out another cruise company just to see the difference in standards. We also got this 2 night comedy cruise on scoopon for a bargain rate so thought .... why not...... well.... lets start with the positives. (Btw this was a 2 night comedy cruise from Melbourne to Sydney) THE GOOD : Boarding and disembarking was easy and fast. Service is both terminals was wonderful. (I will note we were delayed 30 mins disembarking the ship due to customs, but thats not P&O's fault) Due to the smaller size of the ship its very easy to navigate and we did not have to use the lifts once. The comedy gala was fantastic and we went to every show - there were about 5 shows over the 2 days , this was the only entertainment available other than live music in the bars . Service at the bars was very fast and reasonably priced. THE BAD : SHIP: The ship is really showing its age and a-lot of the public areas have had no attention to the wear and tear of the furniture, seats were worn, chipped and some are broken. Floor under the lovely astro turf is uneven and lumpy. The room itself was clean, and a good size, however containing everything that was in the room when they purchased the ship off the last company its old, dated and the lamps were broken and held together with sticky tape. FOOD: I can only compare this to Royal but the food that was included was horrible. The items in the "Pantry" were the same items that were available in the dinning room. Food was cooked many hours before it was serviced and was only warm with that taste "that its been re-heated". Outside of the breakfast, lunch & dinner hours there is no other options for a snack unless you want to pay for it. (When we walked past a station of nuggets, chips and hot dogs at 4.30pm we asked the lady if we could just get some nuggets as we missed lunch, she rudely told us that it was for children only and we would have to wait. I would understand if there was 50 children waiting however there was no-one anywhere near and seeing there was a tray of 300 nuggets i don't think 6 would have made much difference. SERVICE: Service was very hit and miss and the Main dinning room has no dress standards - their was a mix of suits, singlets, flip flops , shirts (and even saw a guy were a suit with flip flops) ACTIVITES : Everything except for the shows are NOT INCLUDED and are at an additional cost. we did not take part in these so cannot comment but $29 for a 30 second zipline was not our cup of tea. OVERALL : We won't be going back to P&O however it was good to experience another side of cruising. Read Less

We knew what we were getting into, but never ever thought it would be as bad as it wo as. Food was never served hot or warm or body temperature, it was cold as a dead fish. Eggs, if you call the that, slimy kind of yellow. bacon burned and really greasy. Hamburgers, well below body temperature. If you like bones with your salmon, you have chosen the right ship. If you like Prime Rib Sant cut you have picked the right ship. Entertainment, well stay hoe home and watch TV, it was terrible. Shore Excursions, OMG, no whispers, No Knowledge, horrible times in ports. IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME, TRY IT. Your money is wasted. Good Luck if you like smokers on balcony. cough cough. I was so sick of Dance Band Music I could puke. How about some good music to listen to. No music except some Jazz and who knows what on the ship. No music at all in many places during the evening. These cruises are sure as could be totally European. Go with Celebrity or Royal if you want a good cruse. We were just trying to escape the cold of March in the US. They say you get what you pay for, but even at the great price they were offering, you got a lot LESS that what you paid for on this cruise. As an adult I have been on more than 100 cruises and as a teenager my father was a cruise ship captain. This cruise was by far the bottom of the barrel. The crew is so over worked, that there is no way they can provide good service. The biggest thing the ship needs to do is get less senior officers and more workers. There are more than enough officers standing around doing nothing while there was a shortage of people to do the work They even charge for water. On every other ship we have been on, you could always go some where to get water, tea or coffee at no charge. If you want water at dinner, no problem either pay per glass or purchase a water package. The food in the dinning rooms and buffet was so bad that it forced you go to the for pay dinning rooms. The terms planning, organization, and logic have totally evaded this ship. Our tours (that we did not book with the ship) were great and we plan to visit many of the ports again on another cruise line. In the disembarkation talk the crew speaker spent over 10 minutes telling us why we should give them 10s on the survey because the problems were not the fault of the crew. In short, stay away from the Victoria and Costa in general. Read Less

We chose this cruise due to the itinerary. However, NCL, were obviously trying to save costs at every opportunity, by arriving at container ports, instead of main ports, or using tenders and buses. Unfortunately, they were completely dis-organised in these tender operations which resulted in guests having to get up at 6 am in the Morning to get a ticket to get on a tender. Even when you had a ticket very often you were not able to get off the ship until lunchtime. This continued at every port. They did not learn. The tenders were driven by staff who either did not have any training or where incompetent. They did not give any safety instructions and often crashed into the side of the ship call the dock morning to get a ticket to get on a tender. Even when you had a ticket very often you were not able to get off the ship until lunchtime. This continued at every port. They did not learn. On one occasion they forgot to close the door and water was coming into the tender (this was that night) and guests were having to deal with water entering the tender. The issues involved poor customer relations staff on the ship who could simply not handle all the complaints they were getting. Also there were not enough sunbeds around for guests to sit on and when this was raised with guest relations they simply replied, well there are 2000 people on board what do you expect? There were also issues with food not being labelled clearly, as to whether it was vegetarian or not. This was such a shame as the itinerary was excellent and this could have been such an amazing cruise. And fortunately it turned out to be fully organised mismanaged and pennypinching. I think Norwegian will lose a lot of customers following this cruise. They kept making excuses after excuses but were not resolving any issues. The captain was nowhere to be seen I think he must’ve been hiding in his cabin ! Read Less

NEVER AGAIN ON NCL!!! Wanted to do Panama Canal so decided to do this one. The cruise before had 80 illnesses and no one contacted us to inform us of the issue. We were not able to board ship until late afternoon and once on board could not get to cabin. Had to wait to be served any food or water the whole time on ship. We could not use the library until the last 3 days of 16 day cruise, could not use hot tubs until last 5 days of cruise. All of the Pool chairs were covered in towels (mostly with no one using them) by 8:30 AM and when complained was told to just move the towels but felt as though the Pool people should have done it. The ports were filthy dirty and stunk something awful - with the exception of Columbia, which was very nice. The shows were mediocre at best. The cabin steward was nice. The ship is too small for 2000 guests and was dated. Read Less

I was looking forward to a nice elegant ship and this was the wrong choice. The ship was very dated, carpets and chairs worn out. The food was terrible and there was no entertainment. I have been on a lot of cruises and this is the worst food I think I was ever served. The crew was not upbeat or friendly. It felt as if they were wanting it over and didn't want to go out of their way to say hello. The entertainment was good but there was not enough of it. Unless you gamble there was nothing to do from 7pm to 10:30 pm. And at 10:30 pm the disco opened. Much too late after a day of sun. The excursion was fun and that was the best part of the trip. I would not recommend this ship to anyone. It needs to be scrapped and refreshed. Which I was told by staff the ship is getting remodeled in April 2018. That would explain a lot. Read Less

We booked a Sea Breeze suite on deck 9 in mid 2017. These suites were created when the ship was refurbished in October. 14 days before we were due to step on board our agent was told by Crystal that due to electrical problems the Sea Breeze suites required repairs and we had been upgraded to a Penthouse Suite on Deck 10 under the pool deck. Our agent knew that after 25 years of regular cruising there are locations of a ship that we would not accept even if free. Under the pool deck is one area. Upgrade rubbish - suite size the same, fare the same and services to the suite the same. We asked if we cancelled would there be a penalty. Yes there would be no refund and read the small print we,Crystal, have the right to change the suites. We had also taken a 3 day pre cruise hotel package in Mauritius. Two days before flying out to Mauritius we checked the weather to discover the island was about to be hit with a category 3 (severe) cyclone and all air travel was cancelled to and from the island. We telephoned Crystal in Sydney and identified ourselves with the booking number etc. The voice at Crystal told us that they had no official notice of any Cyclone and they would only talk to our travel agent. Hello a cruise ship capable of holding 848 passengers heading into a cyclone forecast area and they did not know that fact. Does anyone in Crystal tell the truth? The coach from the hotel to the ship was a shambles. We arrived after 1.30 pm so lunch was not available - part of the service was suppose to be a champers lunch, which no one knew about. When we arrived on board we were told that deck 9 was closed due to flooding. Hello the ship must have great scuppers (drains) if only deck 9 was effected. When we told the Concierge that our concern with the Penthouse Suite was noise from the pool deck we were told they had never had a complaint about noise. Hello again. The now have one. For the next 14 days we had foot steps over our heads from around 7 am to 10 pm or later. Furniture was dragged across the deck. From time to time heavy trolleys trundled across the deck. At 5 pm the staff rearranged the sun lounges by moving them into position and dropping them. We complained to the Concierge and the time moved to 9 pm. When the deck was hosed down in the early hours of the morning we had the benefit of an early wake up call. On the second day we became aware that there were only 380 passengers on board, so that really explains why deck 9 was closed. The climax of the treatment we received came on day 5 when we discovered that the on board of US$1200 was not on our account. You had to spend that on board. Yes, we do read the fine print. After a meeting with the Chief Accountant it took another 2 days before the credit was put onto our account. Although the web site sets out the service to the suite we had to ask for such service each time. We only have a butler because we select the better accommodation and the butler comes with such accommodation. On the ship the Butler did not offer any service. On day one there were no canapes. Afternoon tea was never suggested etc. Service in the dining areas was initially very good but fell away in the last 7 days to poor. Read Less
