This trip far exceeded my expectations. I hoped to see all of the animals you hear about and we did. Bears catching salmon, okras, whales bubble net feeding, otters, sea lions and seals, eagles and puffins. Kayaking in Glacier Bay and having a front row seat of Marjorie calving. Skiff tours and bushwhacking also filling the days.
We wanted a small ship and with 36 passengers, this trip ...
After being pretty isolated during the pandemic, I wanted to travel. And I’d never been on an ocean cruise. I chose Viking because of three previous river cruises with Viking, which I considered exceptional. The ocean cruise was just amazing. Iceland is spectacular, but so is Viking Sky. I was pretty overwhelmed by the beauty of the ship, and I loved the size. My husband never wanted to do a ...
After a 17 month pause, we decided to take this cruise out of St Maarten because we thought it might sail rather than putting a deposit on another that might have the chance of being cancelled.
Embarkation was a tedious process as 8 people at a time were transported to the ship from the dock waiting area. All passengers were given an antigen test prior to boarding , then were checked in. Whole ...
This cruise lived up to the Viking standard! Staff was hospitable, food was excellent, accommodations spotless, clean and comfortable. The curated tours were amazing, and I would not have wanted to see Iceland any other way! Every tour is so organized and clear with what's happening. The buses are very comfortable with padded ergo seats and tour guides are very friendly. During our voyage there ...
In the midst of the pandemic, we were thrilled to learn that Viking was offering an ocean cruise to Iceland for vaccinated passengers. My husband and I were so tired of staying home that we couldn't wait to sign up. It was a wonderful way to seeing an exciting country as we navigated around the country clockwise and visited such interesting ports. At several locations there were more people on ...
The Covid-19 pandemic had caused the suspension of most cruises for around two years. So having sailed many times with Princess, P&O, Azamara, Regent and other cruise lines, we have been hoping for a cautious resumption. At the time of writing, the UK government allowed cruise ships to sail with no more than 1,000 passengers (or 50% capacity, whichever was less). So clearly, it would have been ...
We chose this Viking cruise as we saw it offered and after many months of no travel due to COVID, it gave us the opportunity to be "pampered" even if the UK Scenic itinerary was largely the Irish Sea with 2 port stops. Also, after many years with Celebrity our line of choice, it gave us a change to experience something new (at a very reasonable price).
We thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the ...
Following an advertisement in the daily press we made a late booking just 3 days before departure. We sailed as Viking Virgins - around 100 of us in this category we were told, together with just over 200 previous Viking Explorers on board so the ship was barely a third full. Wonderful experience from start to finish. The care over our safety at a time when the delta Covid variant was in ...
We were delighted to see the UK residents only Welcome Back cruises released. Everything about it was wonderful.
We booked onto Viking Venus's second ever passenger voyage, which had her 'Godmother' Anne Diamond on board, and we loved it so much we went back and did it again on her 4th voyage. It was first class, Viking at its best. The crew were clearly delighted to be back, and loved being ...
With little choice available to UK residents we decided to try the brand new Viking Venus.
We were delighted with the week long cruise and everyone on Viking Venus really excelled.
It all seemed very spacious. There were only approximately 230 passengers as it was their inaugural cruise but with such an excellent choice of lounges and public areas etc it probably never feels ...
