Cruise and excursion GOT-004 12:30pm – 4:30pm in Gothenburg, Sweden, cost $179.00 per person was terrible. It was a total waste of our day which we cannot get back. We departed around 12:45 pm and arrived at our first stop Skarhamn at 2:00 pm. We were allotted 20 minutes at this stop and used the time to wait in line for a restroom. Nothing open at this stop except the one restaurant we used ...
After being on the regular cruise ships so many times I’ve decided to try a voyage on the only existing ocean liner, the famous Queen Mary2… Generally speaking, I liked the food, service and the atmosphere on this ship as being very quiet and kind of old fashion as opposite to the circus like, “bells and whistle” things going on aboard the other mega-passenger ships.
However, I was really ...
Chose cruise to see Alaska in luxury with excellent food.
We had booked the train from Anchorage to Seward but it was only running to a few miles short of Seward so Silversea decided to transfer everyone by bus whereas we were told other cruise ships were collecting people by bus from the train. We were reimbursed by Silversea but it just seemed easier for Silversea to move everyone the same ...
This was our third cruise with Regent and the start of the recent television series in the UK on the ‘Explorer’ had put us in the mood for a luxurious break. We flew from LHR with BA which was fine, and our private transfer was waiting, all good. We were in a Concierge level suite so we had the free previous night’s accommodation included - and the ‘meet and greet’ at the hotel was well ...
The idea was to see a new part of the world which we did. And to learn about the climate, people and history.
Firstly, we sorta enjoyed the cruise. It was what it was and we had few expectations about the itinerary. But we saw very little wildlife so that was disappointing eg one polar bear from a long way off and some whales. 16 days is a long time to be bored.
The best part was the Cloud’s ...
I was highly disappointed with this cruise. We had a wonderful river cruise with Viking; this was no where near the quality.
The food was so-so. I had trouble finding options for gluten free, especially at lunch. Service was great, though.
The included excursions were a joke. Most of them were just bus rides. Sometimes, we were just left to explore on our own. I expected much higher quality ...
Oceania regulars organized this Alaska cruise for a party of 10. Our cabin was very nice and the best service on the ship was our room attendants.
The wait staff in the restaurants were either over-worked or just had an attitude. We usually asked several times for water, or another soft drink. We have cruised quite a bit, and notice that Ukrainian, Russian or Slavic men tend to have a chip ...
While we're relatively experienced cruisers (over 200 days on Silversea, 50 on Seabourn) this was only our second Regent trip. On the previous one, Seven Seas Navigator, we loved the relative informality and the quality of the F&B, but were not too impressed by the ship, so were looking forward to experiencing the Seven Seas Voyager.
Overall, this trip warranted a "Good" rating, and we ...
Subject: SilverSea Cruise , Lisbon to Barcelona
Unfortunately the little details were a negative.
TV with a remote that has to be changed 1 channel at a time is prehistoric. 10 years past its time. also not a good list of channel offerings. 2 of 3 movie channels worked . channels 1-5 all about Silver sea. Yes they acknowledge it’s a problem.
WI Fi also dated. i paid the extra $200. for ...
My husband wanted to see the Great Lakes and he loves cruising. We read the reviews and all said “older” passengers. Somehow we didn’t imagine that meant most would be mid 70s to 90s. At 62 that meant we were a whole lot younger than most of the passengers. There were possibly 10 passengers around our age or younger. We had cabin R303 - a nice large stateroom . Because of the odd layout however we ...
