We chose Oceania because of the reputation for great food and personal service as well as relaxed COVID rules.
My wife and I are experienced cruisers (25+ cruises). For this cruise there was the good and the bad .
The good:
Food at the terrace
String quartet
Seaside band
The bedroom
The bed (very comfortable)
Ability to bring your own wine
Production shows
The ...
This is our 14th Oceania cruise. We booked a 15th cruise and I wish we hadn't. 15 is "gold." One of the perks was supposed to be a complimentary massage. I just looked, and it seems they are no longer honoring that. It seems to have disappeared from their web page. Since we were last on the Riviera the prices have been pumped up to the point of painful. A massage is around $225 or more for 50 ...
Bucket list cruise. Positives: amazing cruise itinery; ship staff in general very attentive. Naturalists were top notch and gave interesting lectures. Open bridge was a nice addition. Did not go to evening shows so cannot comment. Negatives: lazy butler; nice cabin but not spectacular; weak/no Wi-Fi in cabin (went to Azure cafe to connect to the internet); no place to hang wet clothes; no ...
This cruise actually departed from the Panama City Cruise Terminal, Calzada de Amador (couldn't find this port on the review drop-down menu for port locations).
I'll keep this somewhat short...
The good:
Nice decor with a very modern and spacious stateroom (Terrace mid-suite class)
Friendly staff, but woefully uninformed/under trained
Nice onboard amenities
Daily wine/liquor ...
The activities and events wholly and exclusively on board ship were excellent. The staff / crew were very good, the exceptions being new staff who were still learning their roles but these were few and far between. I enjoyed the food and drink available as part of the all inclusive cost of the cruise and didn't feel the need to spend anything additional.
Unfortunately, everything that was not ...
This was our first Regent cruise, and we selected it based on the itinerary, which covered Southern Africa, a transatlantic leg, and Rio to Buenos Aires. Regent was a favorite cruise line of acquaintances of ours, so we had high expectations.
Pre-cruise, I read the reviews from passengers and started to have some concerns. But since the itinerary was so compelling, I set aside the various ...
We chose this cruise to see if Cunard would fit us and what we like about cruising. Firstly The ship was in very good condition and our balcony cabin was fine. We found that the passenger mix was fairly wide ranging and everyone was very polite and friendly. That is except for a few crew members. We have sailed on almost 100 cruises ranging from 3 star to 5 star and only once before had I ...
My wife and I chose this cruise as a sampler of Silversea for future longer cruises. We wanted to try a top quality cruise line, and had sailed the same route - down the east coast of NZ - with Celebrity Solstice in 2020 just before COVID, but wanted to try a smaller ship and larger cabin/suite.
We chose door-to-door and got business class airfares from Sydney to Auckland to start the cruise, ...
Travelled from New York to have an intensive New Zealand cruise and to experience what some would call the 8th wonder of the world in cruising Milford Sound. Instead azamarra decided to save money and not follow the New Zealand regulations which were issued on Oct 2022 -3 months before the sailing date- to get its ship hull properly inspected and cleaned. They knew in advance that their failure ...
We wanted to try another 5.5 - -6 star line so we chose this one. The dates and going through the Canal were good for us.
The ship is pretty, the cabin was great. The cabin steward was friendly and very helpful. He kept the mini bar filled with the beverages we wanted.
The service was poor, we had to wait 30 minutes one night to even get water. The wait staff was working hard, but ...
