This was a family affair. Thirteen of us ventured to Baja and the Sea of Cortez in March. Linblad did its typical excellent job of showing us the sights and helping us to appreciate the diversity of wildlife in the area. The highlight for my wife and me was going out on Zodiac boats to see the whales. My niece was very good at splashing the water and attracting the young "baby" whales to the boat. ...
Let me first state that I did not like awarding the scores set forth below. My wife and I had hoped for a far better experience. This was our first Seabourn cruise; the most recent ones before were on Oceania and Regent Seven Seas, respectively. Our cruise started in Singapore and ended in Dubai.
Some elements of the Encore were lovely. The overall décor was most attractive, and the ...
Chose this cruise because we wanted a proper sailing adventure and did not want a large floating hotel, - and It was just fabulous ! We enjoyed every single minute of this voyage. Yes - the cabins are quite "cosy" , but they have everything you need. The crew were all very friendly and professional. The food on board was superb, and we met some lovely people from all over the world.
Some of ...
My husband and I chose this cruise mainly for the itinerary and that Viking offers included shore excursions which is fine if you only want to see what the included shore excursions include. For example, if you want a gondola ride in Venice, you will have to pay; the included tours of Split and Dobrovnik wasn't bad but unfortunately in Corfu was on Good Friday and the crowds on the street made it ...
We chose this cruise because it was Oceania, and because of its 2 day stay in Cuba. Overall we were not disappointed. It was our fourth Oceania trip, the first on Marina - though we have cruised on Riviera before, her sister ship. The itinerary highlight was Cuba, which we loved. The rest comprised Cozumel, Harvest Caye, Roatan and Nassau. Harvest Caye is a disappointment, a small private ...
The whole cruise was great, although weather not perfect but that is no ones fault, our only complaints were the cost of the alcohol on board, wine is extortionate so hardly anyone on our table of 8 purchased wine at dinner, in 22 nights we bought 3 bottles of wine,
The only other minor complaint was the lack of choice at dinner in the Britannia Restaurant, too many vegetarian options on not ...
The food was excellent, the service was wonderful, But Oceania did not get us the two gift cards from our daughter that they assured we would get that day. Despite repeated requests to meet with Damien Lacroix the general manager there was no response for three days. When the secretary finally called Saturday and said he would call me back as soon as he finished with the customer he was with. I ...
We had been on the Riviera on the transatlantic to Barcelona in the spring of 2016 and enjoyed it so much we decided to book again.
The itinerary was different - the Azores, Tangier, Mallorca and then Barcelona but unfortunately we encountered a big storm and we were forced to go to Madeira instead of the Azores. This was just fine by most passengers but we had visited Madeira on last year's ...
We had a great Butler. Specialty restaurants were excellent. Buffet dinners were excellent. Main dining room a step below but good.
Embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly.
Suite was excellent. Would like to have seen 2 sinks in bathroom. Shower tough for me to use but I'm 6'5". Very well furnished. Bed very comfortable. Walk in closet well done.
Entertainment was very good. ...
