Don't book this!

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Silver Wind

The good points of Silver Wind - staff and port visits. Other than this, please do not book a trip on this sad, tired ship!! Despite being one of the nicest, larger cabins (702) room is depressing. Front balcony crammed with too much furniture; when they wash the windows it becomes a wet, soggy, dank mess. Light fixture on side balcony threatens to fall on your head. Toilet didn't flush first ...

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Riviera

Because I have traveled with Oceania several times before, I read the recent reviews of Riviera on Cruise Critic. Our travels are always in PH suites. Most, if not all, reviews from persons that have sailed with Oceania before agree that the service has gone down. Many items that I observed that were different from before were noticed, some are written down below. First time Oceania ...

Windstar isn't what it used to be.

Review for a Italy Cruise on Wind Surf

My wife and I have now sailed on Windstar 4 times, the last being the Classic Italy/Dalmatian Coast cruise on Wind Surf that May 3 -11. Sadly, because we really have loved the small ship, casual and comfortable style of Windstar in the past, I think this is likely our last Windstar sail. I have some specific comments but I must say that the Windstar feeling seems to have changed. The marketing ...

Disappointing

Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Queen Elizabeth

We decided to go on this mini cruise as a quick break thinking we'd be pampered and spoilt. How wrong we were! This is our third Cunard cruise the last one on the Queen Mary was wonderful. Captain Wells was great. The captain on this ship seemed to stay in her ivory tower and had very little to say except during the safety brief. Our cabin steward was friendly and helpful, however the ...

Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Viking Star

User Avatar

The cruise started very well with exceptional staff service at the Barcelona airport and transportation to the Viking Star. We even enjoyed the wait for our state room as we were treated to a great lunch on deck and the excellent onboard staff service started there. The Viking Star was spectacular and although there some glitches as we expected on an inaugral voyage, many of the problems were ...

Maiden Voyage Disappointment

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Viking Star

Very beautiful ship BUT many electronics in cabins and ship not working. Also some excursions were changed because there were too many people . They should have known that ahead of time. Most of the upper level staff did not know what was going on. The regular staff for cabins and in dining rooms were VERY nice. It was a shame that Viking does such a great job on their river cruises and fell flat ...

Review for a Norwegian Fjords Cruise on Viking Star

Viking Star – Part of its maiden voyage from Barcelona to Bergen Norway and took the Viking add on to Iceland. The ship is fantastic – overall an excellent design, very high tech. There is plenty of space so you never feel crowded. The infinity pool is small, but seemed adequate for the amount of people that used it. State rooms are plenty big enough with quality beds and the best bathrooms of ...

We are in our 70's and this was a cruise with friends, back to back Barcelona/Civitavecchia/Barcelona. Embarkation was smooth but one of our cases got misplaced on debarkation causing a bit of a panic. Service was, for the most part outstanding, including cabin steward, butler, maitre d's, waiters, bar staff, room service. All excellent. The food however was a big disappointment in the main ...

Review for a Greece Cruise on Azamara Journey

This was our first cruise with Azamara. We wanted the smaller ship experience and have to admit we liked it. We chose this cruise for the itinerary and a special price - double upgrade to a verandah cabin. The ship was nice, clean and fortunately well functioning. (We had heard stories of plumbing problems.) The staff was generally friendly and the food was good. The food and service were ...

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Azamara Journey

We enjoyed our recent cruise on the Azamara Journey. The staff is outstanding, very friendly and seem to actively anticipate our needs and wants. This is very different from a lot of the other cruises we have been on (14 in the last 4 years). However, when we were last on an Azamara cruise two years ago, we raved about the food served in the Dining Room. We thought it was wonderful. Not ...
