Chose this as our first ever cruise because of itinerary and all the extras included in a Viking ocean cruise such as many included excursions, outstanding food and specialty restaurants included, beer and wine included, gorgeous ship and stateroom.
The service and crew were outstanding! The personnel were from all over the world and we found them to be so interesting to talk to and to ask ...
I went on the "glories of Spain and Portugal" itinerary in August. This was my first cruise. The small ship size was great and I got to know the fellow passengers and crew very well. The crew and staff were excellent and very attentive, and I also enjoyed the small group excursions. I really enjoyed the ports and the privileged locations we got to dock at each day. The ship was very clean and ...
We chose this cruise after our wonderful cruise experience on the Insignia last summer. This time we took a back to back 7 day cruise to Bermuda. Yes, the same cruise twice. It was a great decision. The new decor is lovely. Our suite was completely refurbished and was bright and airy. Taking the tub out of the bathroom and installing a good sized beautifully tiled shower was great for us. ...
We have enjoyed numerous Viking river cruises and hoped this first Viking cruise ship experience would be equally fantastic. It was. Nothing is left to chance with Viking and everything is first class. The thought of getting on one of the many massive cruise ships with 3,000 of our closest friends is hideous. Viking does it all with a smaller ship, with all balcony staterooms, and much more ...
We choose the small ship , Viking Jupiter, just because of reviews and the wonderful convenience of having only 8-900 people on board !! When you wanted to exit the boat, there was no 'traffic jam'. We were on the top floor... the 8th. We could walk up and down to everywhere with ease. There weren't 25 buses for excursions... there were 4-5. Never crowded at anytime on the ship. Dinner ...
My favorite things about Viking is their attempt to please their customers. We love the elegance of the ship. So many places to “secret” yourself away. Peace and quiet. Little of the frantic “go do this, go do that.” I love the lack of children.
The wait staff in the restaurant could do a better job if they were more formal in the serving and removing plates. Many times the servers ...
My husband and I have completed several cruises over the past ten years. To celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary we decided to visit the Baltics. This was actually a 14 night cruise and we enjoyed every minute. The cruise ship is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The service is exceptional. The very vast majority of staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Food in the Brittania ...
We chose this cruise because of the reputation of Viking cruise line and the itinerary.
The Jupiter is a magnificent new ship, with soothing, understated, but beautiful Scandinavian decor. I actually liked the lack of "glitzy" finishes. My favourite part of the ship was the Winter Garden, where tea is served every day at 4 p.m. I am not someone who goes to tea, but I chose to sit in there to ...
Embarkation - went quickly and smoothly, we had no problem with the alcohol we were brining on board at all - a box of wine, several bottles of wine and many mall bottles of gin, rum and port. At ports we had no problem bringing tonics and coke on board as our mixers.
We have never sailed Cunard before, previously only sailing on more casual cruise ships, so were somewhat apprehensive about ...
Although I had been on another cruise line before, which left me not wanting to go on another, my wife and I had heard so many great things about viking cruises we decided on this trip a year in advance. The flights were the most enjoyable ever and when we arrived in Bergen the embarkation was so easy and not at all stressful, unlike my other cruise where there were thousands of people crowed in ...
