We took the June cruise on Nautica circumnavigating the British Isles in a veranda room. This was our first trip on Oceania and there were many good points: check-in was the smoothest I can recall on a cruise, and so was debarkation. The staff were uniformly friendly and attentive.
Food in the main dining room was excellent throughout. Vegetarian choices abound but there are plenty of real ...
We are a couple in our mid thirties who took a seven night cruise on the queen Victoria from Rome to Venice. This formed part of a wider European vacation.
Overall we did enjoy our holiday but we wanted to make this review so passengers can be informed as the queen Victoria is a different set up to other cruises. We were in a deluxe inside room on level 8. Perfect floor. One down from the ...
How disappointing to pay extra and book an ocean view cabin and have a totally orange lifeboat to look at for 7 days. Our first cruise we had an internal cabin and decided to upgrade on our second cruise to an ocean view, very misleading charging extra when it was smaller than our internal cabin and had absolutely no view at all - even if you stood on tip toe all you could see was an orange ...
This is our second cruise with Azamara, the first was 5 years ago on the Quest and we felt that there was a noticable deterioration in the service offering; this was especially noticeable in the quality of the food. On our previous cruise we ate in Aqualina 2 nights and Prime C for one. We made the terrible mistake of booking Aqualina without first checking the menu: 2 of the 4 choices were veal ...
This cruise left from Venice and sailed through Croatia and Montenegro. Service was very good but the ship itself needs major refurbishment which I know will happen next year. The food in the specialty restaurants was good but the main dinning room was average at best. The officers are very visible which is nice to see.
We did one excursion through the the ship in Split which was not very ...
The ship was not elegant at all. For the price, we expected much better. It was clean, and comfortable (except for too many chairs in the event rooms), but very ordinary looking.
The food was also very average, except the breakfast buffet -- that was quite good.
The staff were delightful and extremely attentive.
We were not happy about our booking experience. We booked late and were ...
This was my first Windstar cruise. Based on the prices and their own marketing material - how they position themselves as a luxury experience for the most discerning traveler - and having been on a whole range of other cruise lines, I expected a good-to-great experience. What I got was more like a poor-to-mediocre one. Disappointment abounded - from the food to the ports of call to excursions to ...
Unlike some other reviewers, we found the Viking Star cruise we took out of Stockholm to have numerous disappointments. We started the cruise with Viking's pre-cruise trip to Iceland. Iceland itself is an interesting although mostly undeveloped country. The people are friendly and the geography is stark but often amazing. Viking's choice of hotel was sub-par and not at all of the same class as ...
I am afraid that it is unlikely that I will consider Viking for another ocean trip after my experience here. Whilst the experience was not awful by any stretch of the imagination, it was not anywhere near as good as the overhyped advertising that we saw.
DINING
The dining experience was reasonable and the waiting staff were good apart from one senior member of crew in the restaurant who ...
This review may be unusual, but we want to let potential Regent Cruisers what we experienced. We chose Regent because we wanted the all inclusive trip. We wanted a little stress as possible. Regent did not live up to their promise.
We booked & paid 4/6/15. On 4/21 I received the call that we must pay an additional $300. for our "Free" Hotel in Anchorage, as the Regent Agent made an error ...
