We chose this cruise because we heard great things about Viking and wanted a non-Alaska US cruise. We greatly enjoyed the experience. The ship was fabulous and a great size. Our accommodations were very comfortable. The crew was the highlight of the trip, from the great care our room steward gave us, the fabulous chefs and wait staff, the experts on board, and the captain and his staff. ...
We wanted to see the Great Lakes. Aside from Mackinac Island, the onshore options were very limited. We loved the special boat and the tour of all the "toys". However, most of the other options for excursions involved Zodiacs, canoes, or kayaks. I was having my hip replaced after the cruise so those options were not good for me. On the ship, the library was very nice with a puzzle or two. ...
We chose this cruise at relatively short notice when we had to unexpectedly cancel our originally planned July 2022 Viking cruise. Nevertheless, this was great first-time experience.
The crew/staff was excellent and took care of us every step of the way. We had a very comfortable cabin (other than a hard and uneven bed) and our cabin attendants were outstanding.
Overall dining was very good ...
We had heard wonderful things from friends about Viking cruises and after much deliberation, decided we would experience it first hand. We decided on an ocean cruise as this is what we have been used to doing on different cruise lines in the past. Could there possibly be that much of a difference? The answer is YES! From the moment we landed at the airport to the moment we were escorted back to ...
We enjoyed every minute on the ship for our ocean cruise around Italy. Never felt crowded. If you needed to be alone, no problem, on deck or inside. And every single room had a private balcony. Otherwise, a lounge chair was always waiting someplace, with no one else around. There was nearly always a remarkable view; seldom did we see just water except at night. The quality of the window glass was ...
We didn't choose this cruise so much as we were forced into it. Back Story: In 2020, we booked Oceania's Scandinavian Baltic cruise. And then COVID-19. We were "assured" that if cruise would be canceled again, we would receive a a refund. Lie Number 1. As COVID-19 began to ease, we sailed on both Celebrity and Viking waiting for Oceania to re-open. Final Straw, we were booked on the August ...
The Viking Jupiter was an amazing experience. There was so much to do and the crew was incredible about making you feel at home and comfortable. The educational programs were interesting and very informative. The entertainment was top notch and very enjoyable. The performers were excellent! We had fun dancing under the stars one night with exceptional music and lively performers who had you up ...
Our cruise on the new Viking expedition ship Octantis took us from Milwaukee through Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, Georgian Bay, Lake Superior and eventually concluding at Thunder Bay.
Chose this cruise as it was not only a wonderful Viking cruise but also an adventurous nature-oriented experience. We enjoyed riding in zodiacs and special operations boats. Several nature walks, hiking, and also ...
We had been on several Viking river cruises as well as other long boat river cruises. We enjoy the Viking experience of wonderful, cheerful & polite staff, clean modern rooms, excellent buffets and included daily excursions. On board lectures were thought provoking. We also took in paid excursions each day and a special "Kitchen Table" experience with the executive chef. We walked with the chef ...
Before the pandemic, we took many cruises including 10 on Windstar. While we also enjoyed sailing on other cruise lines, we choose Windstar mainly for dining and relaxing. We loved the elegance and size of the Star ships before the stretch. When we heard that the ships were being stretched, we wondered how it would change the ships. Would there be enough space to accommodate more passengers? ...
