Only six days with poorly trained staff

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Silver Shadow

We had heard excellent reports on Silverseas from friends who had travelled with them. So when we decided to take a cruise to Alaska they were the obvious choice. The cruise was delayed by one say due to problems on the previous cruise. There was little or no information provided by the company and no member of staff from Silverseas came to the hotel where the majority of the passengers were ...

Worst cruise ever would rate negative if I could

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Sirena

I cannot reiterate how bad this cruise was. There was no communication between crew members and guests. Sat on a tour bus for 30 minutes, at no point was it communicated that we were missing 2 passengers. Rushed through breakfast to get to lounge for out tour. Once again, no statement that everything was running 30-40 minutes late. Told to bring passports to shore, completely false. Could ...

Vale SilverSea: never again

Review for a British Isles & Western Europe Cruise on Silver Wind

We are 4 times cruisers with SilverSea and have cruised with other lines. After all the lockdowns and travel restrictions over the last years, we were very much looking forward to our 5th cruise on the Silver Wind. Sadly, this will be our last cruise with SilverSea. It is difficult to know where to start. If you want to read on, grab a tea or coffee before you start: - Embarkation – the process ...

Promises made, not delivered

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Viking Sky

We cruised 3 weeks with Viking, ending in Athens. Our cruise was set to start in Barcelona, but we were notified two weeks ahead that the departure would now be from Tarragona. As we had booked our own flights and hotels, Viking said we were now responsible for getting to Tarragona on our own, necessitating either a 210 Euro taxi, or navigating an unbelievable scrum with 4 suitcases to barely ...

The Viking Ocean Cruises do not have their act together

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Viking Star

I chose this cruise because I had taken a Viking River Cruise several years ago and loved it. But this cruise has been a disaster. The arranged flights basically cut a day off the cruise up front. Then cancelled flights caused the flight to be rebooked to the next day AFTER the ship would have departed. But we protested to the airline and luckily got a flight several hours later. We checked ...

Expensive But Not a "Luxury" Cruise

Review for a U.S.A. Cruise on Pearl Mist

User Avatar

We chose Pearl Seas because its Great Lakes Itinerary had more Canadian ports than other cruise lines. We sailed 11 nights from Toronto to Milwaukee. But buyer beware! The cabins do not at all look like the photos in their online brochure. Carpets and furnishings were faded and worn and very dated in style. The first night on board, our room heating system didn't work. Drawers were so ...

DUTY OF CARE

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Island Sky

We progress through day 6 of our Covid infection. This cruise was booked after careful questioning regarding hygiene and Covid protocols. We were satisfied with the details provided. The practice, however, was not effective. On the morning of day 6, the daily wake up call came with the information that there was one case of Covid on board. The case was isolating in her cabin with her ...

A horrible experience on Viking

Review for a Great Lakes Cruise on Viking Octantis

I have never written a review for anything before, but the amount of positive reviews that surround Viking makes me cringe so I thought it was time to post my experience. My family and I had always wanted to go on a Viking cruise. The chance came when they started Great Lake tours. We have been on many cruises with all different companies over the years and did not have anything but good thoughts ...

Paid for Seabourn, but this was not Seabourn

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Seabourn Odyssey

User Avatar

At one of those treacly self-congratulatory events the ship hosts for its loyal repeat customers, the cruise director raised her glass of champagne for a toast. Hardly anyone in the room raised theirs. Not because they were rude. They did not have drinks. They’d been seated for more than half an hour, and had yet to be served anything. This pretty much sums up our trip. The Seabourn leaders ...

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Queen Elizabeth

The cruise was going fine and we were celebrating my husbands 70th birthday. It all turned very sour when we both contracted Covid. I tested positive first and my husband 3 days later. It then became a very distressing experience. I was escorted to my isolation cabin, passing several other guests along the way. I was initially placed in an Ocean View cabin but eventually moved to a cabin with a ...
