I've found you either love cruising, or try it and find that cruising is not for you. We fall into the former bucket and have been on 20 odd cruises over the years. We've sailed with NCL, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Princess, and generally find more similarities than differences across lines. That said, we tend to prefer NCL.
My wife and I sailed on the Epic not long after it was first ...
For starters we are a traveling family. So we are well travelled. We heard many great things about cruises and was told that as far as cruise lines “Norwegian” is top tier. As first time cruisers we decided to splurge and go with what as been advertised and described as the best.
We chose this cruise line because it was supposed to be luxury and family friendly. This was not the case. What we ...
This was a wonderful excursion trip to a pretty exciting location. Scientific staff were educational, fun and did a great job at helping us understand the importance of this beautiful location. Impressed with their desire to leave it as pristine was they found it. The excursions were varied, energizing and unique. Do Kayak if you know how it is an experience like no other. When not out on ...
This was a bad cruise experience to say the least. The crew was friendly and kind but it was painfully evident they were under staffed on a sold out cruise. We have cruised with Carnival before and this cruise was poorly planned and executed. 30+ minute wait in the buffet lines over and over, poor choices and mediocre food. We waited over an hour for our anytime dining (not at out convenience) ...
This is my second cruise. I’m not an expert. My first cruise was a 4-day Mexico vacation on Royal Caribbean (RC). My wife and I wanted to get away. We picked Norwegian gateway out of New Orleans to go to the Caribbean.
Embarkation day went smoothly, we picked a 2:30PM time slot and it took about 15 min between arriving at the terminal and getting on the ship.
Our room (regular balcony) was ...
We chose a cruise to go to the Bahamas, Cozumel, Belize, and Rotoan. The itinerary changed three times. First two, changing days around. I was told I now needed a passport to get into Belize so no problem my wife and I spent almost $600 expediting passports. Sure enough, they cancel Belize (the only reason we booked this cruise) and add Costa Maya…fine it happens. Next, they canceled the Bahamas ...
So, first time cruiser here so I have little point of reference. But, I had an absolutely brilliant time with my father on this voyage of a life time to the utterly amazing Patagonia and Antarctica (sorry if this is a bit long).
Embarkation - so easy. It took around 45 mins to arriving at bag drop off to sitting by the pool with a beer in my hand. At all points there seemed to be forward ...

She is an old ship but in incredible condition with a little aging of the body but the inside I thought was very very nice. The staff was amazing, the food was very good, Chops was great. Nothing is ever crowded. We have been on all the oasis class and we realized that they are too big. We met lots of people to talk with and hang out. The bigger ships seemed much colder in that aspect. We ...
Partner booked our very first cruise for my birthday. The day of my birthday we were set to be on shore, so we decided to do the sea turtle excursion as I have a tattoo of one and have never been able to meet one. It was set to be super special. We're not rich by any means, so this was a hefty sum for us to spend on an experience.
While the food was amazing in the steakhouse that you have to ...
