I am a platinum member having sailed Princess several times. On this occasion I found Princess to be struggling to deliver post pandemic as it seems to have cut back on staff thus standard of service. By example first night in the restaurant I was served raw centred chicken and this was quickly whisked away without any great concern for the risk such a mistake can cause health wise. Our cabin was ...
We were excited to be on our first cruise since 2019 and this was a warm-up cruise for our booked 2023 World Cruise on the Island Princess. We selected a club class and the three of us would have a mini with a full queen and a fold out full bed. The room was very good with a full bathroom with a tub and large center cabin.
Boarding: What a nightmare, we waited approximately 1-1/2 hours to ...
My wife and I booked our cruise last September on Harmony of the Seas basically for three reasons: 1) We wanted to cruise on a newer and larger RC ship, 2) the itinerary to St. Johns was originally included, and 3) the price was right for a balcony. We hoped the Covid mess would be long gone by January, 2022. We even Royal-upped our room by placing a bid on an upgraded ocean balcony which we ...
We did enjoy our cruise, but we only had a slight glimmer of the Northern Lights on one evening & the cruise had to be curtailed because of exceptionally stormy weather, and a technical issue with the ship. Norway had floods, roads blocked by snow and truly difficult conditions to contend with. We were also unable to dock at some ports, because of the weather. The excursion to the North Cape had ...
This was a bit of a last-minute change for us. My daughter and I were supposed to go to London, but with the extra covid requirements (testing to go, testing once there, testing to get home) we decided to postpone. We were looking for something to do on her college break and this cruise was available.
Our flight down was awful, but hey, that's certainly not Royal's fault. Check in at the pier ...
I have been able to cruise over 15 times, and ALL the restrictions because of the Covid, really makes a person to NOT want to cruise. We did the test 2 days before our cruise, thankfully passing. Since we live in Missouri and never know what the weather will be in January (we left with good weather, and came back with about 4" of snow on the ground), we left the day before, flying/staying in San ...
There were only 482 passengers on a ship that holds 5300, so most times it felt like you were on a ghost ship. We were required to undergo a covid test at the port as well as having one done prior to the cruise. The ship was beautiful and the staff friendly. Covid protocols were strictly here’d to including masks and daily temperature checks.
Food on msc is fair at best. A lot of repeat dishes, ...
Restaurant quality food in Buffet and Main dining room very good. Specialty Restaurants, Tuscan, Murano, and LePetit worth the extra $$$$$--Amazing
The Oceanview buffet was actually carving prime rib for lunch one day and had it on the buffet for dinner. They had fresh roasted turkey carving stations a couple days also. We're talking real prime rib---not roast beef---the real thing------same ...
We recently moved from the east coast to Houston. Galveston is so convenient from Houston so we booked an inside promenade view for under $500 (for 2)for 4 days beginning January 3rd, 2022 - our first in over 2 years.
It was great to cruise once again and, it had it's great and not-so-great - like all vacations:
The great:
price, service, and value
inside cabin overlooking the ...
After 23 months, I was so ready to get back out on the open seas. Had never been on the Pride, but had been on one of her sister ships. So I was familiar with the ship’s layout. Easy to navigate. Glad that we could walk through the casino without having to smell cigarette smoke.
I only ate in the MDR for breakfast. Two of the days were for Seaday brunch. Service was excellent and attentive. ...
