Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Jewel of the Seas

First Time Cruiser • Age 40s

My mother-in-law offered to take the entire family on a cruise and while I was hesitant to take my two small children on a boat (because let's face it it's rarely a 'vacation' with a two year-old and a six month-old), I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to try it out...I was wrong. My brother-in-law cruises quite often and he actually did the booking, but he had never encountered the ...

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Queen Elizabeth

In Singapore we joined a Queen Elizabeth world cruise, booking a Princess Grille cabin for a 35 day cruise to Southampton. This is the second top tier in their 'class system' aboard, so we expected top class service having paid over $40,000 for the privilege. We have previously enjoyed a similar cruise onboard Queen Victoria, where the food, staff, service, ambience and cabin we could not ...

RADIANCE OF THE SEAS, NEVER AGAIN !!

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Radiance of the Seas

We have taken several cruises on liners such as P&O's early ships (fairstar , fair pricess, pacific sky); Dawn Princess, Sun Princess, Sapphire Princess and Cunards Queen Victoria '09. We thought we would step outside our comfort zone and try R.C.I Radiance of the seas. A lot of people have given her so many great reviews so we thought we would try it out and see what we were missing. I wished ...

Carnival Splender

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Carnival Splendor

Hotel I stayed at the Hotel Maya. They offer good prices to people that are going on Carnival cruises. My room was $139 for a ocean view with a Balcony. They also offer a shuttle around town for no charge. Embarkation I took a shuttle from the hotel, the shuttle time was 10:30am, at first I thought that was too early but it ended up being ok. We got there, checked in and by the time ...

Caribbean Princess upgrade was really a downgrade

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Caribbean Princess

Booked a 14 day cruise in a gty mini suite expecting the worst mini suite on the ship. 4 days before the sailing, we were given room #L107 which is the Cancun Suite. We couldn't believe our luck and even though about buying a lottery ticket. I googled the room and found several complaints including noise and vibration from the gym which is located above the bedroom as well as the private ...

VERY DISAPPOINTED

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Carnival Freedom

Boarding the ship went without hitch and everything seemed to be fine. We went to our state room which was what we would call a half hazard job on the cleaning and refreshing of our room. The luggage cover for our bed was in dis array, we did not have any shampoo. There was a rag left on our dresser (what the cruise line would call a coffee table). The next day we received a knock on the ...

Review for a Canary Islands Cruise on Independence of the Seas

I will make this a balanced and fair review. It didn't start well. Embarkation at Southampton involved an hours queue outside the terminal building in freezing weather, then a further 2 hours to get through the check in process to board the ship. An excessive wait to board a lift (more about the lifts later)then 15 minutes wandering around trying to find the cabin with no crew on hand to ...

Don't try Costa if you're British

Review for a Middle East Cruise on Costa Favolosa

This has been our first cruise on a Costa ship and we chose it to try out it's Italian hospitality and I am sad to say it will probably be our last and it would not be a company I would recommend to anyone. I'm writing this letter to give you constructive feedback because without this you are not able to improve your image. The image with the Italian, German and French markets may be good but I ...

Learn from your sister company: Celebrity !!! If you are looking for the same great food as Celebrity, forget it. There were 2 restaurant owners in our group, and we could not believe what we saw. More on that later. For starters, the website was difficult to use. Not like Celebrity. Boarding was a breeze at 12:10 PM. We were led to the Windjammer. This was our first inkling about the ...

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Navigator of the Seas

We were 13 friends traveling together and chose Rccl Navigator of the Seas because one of the couples is a platinum member. I have been on approximately 12 Rccl cruises in the Caribbean and Europe and the experiences have been spotty at best. This was not one our best experiences. As a whole 11 of the 13 were very and 2 somewhat disappointed. The ship looked and felt dirty. The carpets pretty ...
