We chose the Jewel based on the dates. It is extremely hot where we live and we wanted the change to cooler weather! We were NOT disappointed! The weather was cool almost cold but delightful! It rained/misted for much of the trip, but even that was pleasant! However, during the excursions, Alaska showed her best by NOT pouring rain on us!

We had heard good things about the Alaska cruise and we liked the casual feel of this ship. It was our first cruise and had no idea what to expect. We loved it. My 17 year old and I had a fabulous time on the cruise.. We had cabin 1220.. Porthole. And he and I loved the room! Very clean everyday. He said why have a balcony...the whole ship has balconies?! True lol
