This is our second cruise with Royal Caribbean. Both times our family of 14 adults went on the cruise. I was concerned because when I booked this cruise, I went with my travel planners recommendation to get the cheapest booking available by not having an assigned inner cabin. We just got back from our 7 night Western Caribbean on Carnival Magic. We flew into Fort Lauderdale the evening before, and made a poor choice of staying at the Days Inn on Broward ave(stay away!), and took an Lyft to Port of Miami. We had a group of 13 people, ages from 5 to 71 years, so we took 4 different cars.

The ship is starting to show it's age. Furniture, carpets and other things are looking tired, worn and styles and fabrics are very dated, There are glass sculptures on deck 5 that have broken pieces and they have been that way for a couple years. A few places like the Star Lounge have been redone and it makes a world of difference to compare those spaces to the original decor in other areas. ...

For my wife and me, this was our 25th cruise (8th on a Princess ship). The Regal Princess is beautiful and well maintained. Even in a rough sea, the ship cruises quite smoothly. Generally speaking, we had a great time. Nevertheless, PCL and the Regal Princess have areas needing improvement.
