I booked this cruise as a birthday surprise for my wife because we had always heard that Royal Caribbean was better than Carnival, which we normally sailed on. Unfortunately, 'Adventure of the Seas' was not the adventure we wanted, with an extremely hard bed, little food variety/taste, and heavy smoking in the casino. Also, a change was made to our requested dining time, but Royal Caribbean ...
This was our first Princess cruise, we have cruised with Royal Caribbean on numerous occasions and cannot help making comparisons.
Pros: The crew were lovely and very helpful, our room steward Anna was great, our room was very clean. The entertainment was very good, especially the Princess Singers and Dancers, as well as other entertainment. However we were expecting a famous celebrity singer ...
First experience with NCL. Had a bad experience with customer service between booking and sailing. As a first-timer I would have expected more from a company in the service industry to try and build rapport to make me a repeat customer, but that will not happen. There was a tremendous price drop with nothing to make up for it.
Embarkation was frustrating because the key cards they issued in the ...
I picked this cruise based on itinerary and date; 3rd time on the Adventure but on Caribbean itineraries. We were a group of 7 adults (all have cruised before several times except for my 80 yrs old friend) We had embarkation time for 10:30am. (Highly recommend this time)Took a taxi on EWR and it took us like 20 minutes to Cape Liberty (no traffic because it was early). It was like $13 per person ...
Have previously sailed on the Norwegian Spirit. In comparison I found the Pearl was disappointing in a number of areas. Daily information sheets were great but activities on offer less so. The main restaurant dining was a veritable nightmare with difficulty in finding seats. Overspill areas meant having to carry hot food some distance from where it was served. Food selection was uninspiring. Salad ...
Paid over 14k for a 4 person cruise, GF and twin boys. First trip to Alaska so I did not want plain jane instead I opted for a mini-suite and paid for everything months before departure. This also included 2 nights in Seattle Washington. We were to stay at the Seattle Westin which I found to be a mistake after the fact.
The cabin says suite but rather it was like a normal room with very ...
This was my fourth Norwegian Cruise.
Good points:
1. Itinerary awesome! Norway, Iceland and Scotland leaving from Copenhagen (I stayed here for 3 nights prior to cruise)
2. Food good (hey I don’t have to cook or wash dishes plus I’m not a fussy eater)
3. I stayed in the Studio cabins (for solo travellers) and we have our own lounge area with own bar and bartender (scheduled between ...
Back from the May 24, 2019 sailing of Gem to Bermuda. This was our 19th NCL cruise, and second time on the Gem. All prior reviews are posted on here.
We had an obstructed window room on Deck 8 that had two oblong porthole windows. Love these rooms for their value and location. No complaints here and our steward, Fan, was terrific.
Customer Service overall was subpar on this sailing ...
We choose this cruise for the itinerary, so when two of our eight ports were cancelled (one due to NCL inefficiency leaving Copenhagen and the other because of safety concerns getting into Invergordon), it was a big disappointment. A $50 credit per cabin didn't compensate for the loss of 1/4 of our itinerary.
Two additional stops were cut short because of delays with the tenders -- we waited ...
This boat is absolutely gorgeous! And the ports of call were exactly as expected. We even had sunny days EVERY DAY! How wonderful! The new interior is modern and chic, and the staterooms are lovely and the food is so much better than the 2 Caribbean cruises I'd done 20 years prior with Carnival & Norwegian.
That said, here's why only 3 stars...
1. Very pushy sales all the time to buy stuff, ...
