My wife and I just completed an Eastern Med Cruise on the Norwegian Epic. We have done a number of NCL cruises, and this was our first on the Epic. The food in the Garden Cafe was good and we ate all of our on board meals there. Gluten free options were not marked and we found no gluten free desserts or breads. A posted sign indicated that you need to request gluten free bread, but all there was only gluten free sandwich bread. There was a good selection of vegetarian options, and the salad bar was much better than we have seen on other NCL ships, but there is still room for improvement. We found the layout of the ship a little different than our previous cruises, with the Garden Cafe forward instead of aft, the fitness rooms aft instead of forward. The cruise was also different in that with two embarkation ports, and no complete turnover of the passengers, some of the normal process of embarking and disembarking were changed. There was no general announcements of which group was departing, so you need to be more aware of when you needed to depart. Because of trouble in Barcelona, all excursions were cancelled. The other excursions were a mixed bag. At Livorno, we took the Florence and Pisa on your own tour and had a great time. In Cannes, we did the walking tour and found it worthwhile. At Palma, we were disappointed with the bus tour that spent half of the time at a artificial pearl factory and little else. In Naples, we went on the Pompeii Excavations and really enjoyed the experience. Entertainment was very good, and we enjoyed the two comics who were very funny. Howl at the Moon was a good show and the musicians were very talented and entertaining. The usual audience participation shows (Newlywed game and Pyramid) were well done. The in-room channels were limited as the only sports was limited to Soccer and the only english language news was the BBC. We were concerned before our trip that we might have difficulties getting back to the airport to return home since we were informed by NCL that we could not pre-book a transfer to the airport because our departure was within 3 hour of arrival in Rome. However, once we were on board, we were able to book a transfer. All in all, we had a good cruise and enjoyed the trip. I would recommend it as a enjoyable budget cruise for someone who wants to see three fascinating countries (Italy, France and Spain) in a single trip. Read Less

Buffet dinning was 1 1/2 on my scale of 1 to 5, guess services was rude and rate them at a .5, There are 2 formal dinning rooms the 4 Seasons team needs a lot work not very pleasant. The Seven Seas was 4 out 5 rating. Pleasant, competent, and you are served in a timely manner. Our ports were Key West: Conch Train Tour is a must. Key West Is very nice. 2nd port was Great Sturrip Cay: Safety should always be first. When tendering to the Island no one came thru to make sure all passengers were sitting down non did they show us where the life jackets where in case of emergency. I saw no signs directing to life jackets or did I see any in sight. Food was Lame and non alcoholic drinks consisted of water, and unsweetened ice tea (I was told that the Island was an extension of the ship and would have the same drinks and food available NOT TRUE) which are included in the cruise price. Pepsi, Ginger Ale at a cost of $3.96 per 8oz cup filled with ice and only 2 locations on the Island to get it and they are 3 hundred feet apart. So if you don't stay near if you want a non alcoholic drink you will have a fall walk to get it. Next port was Nassau just what I would expect it to be since I have been there 4 times before. The Conch Salad is a must and can be found at Sharkey's across from the pier. My recommendation is cruise Royal Caribbean or Carnival. My overall rating on a scale of 1 to 10 is a 3. This was my 10th cruise between 3 different cruise lines. Read Less

I never expected this to be way below Carnival or even RCL but it was. The balcony stateroom was ok but barely so. Lots of half botched jobs and tatty carpets. Never saw the room attendants. Restaurant service especially at breakfast was awful. One morning I finished my breakfast an hour before my wife got her cold order of bacon and eggs. Food everywhere was insipid. The long waits in the restaurant forced ya to use the buffet more but that too was poor with little variety and surly service. Smile it won’t hurt. Nassau is not in a good place post hurricane. We saw several large rats running across streets in mid day sun. Why don’t you help the people of Nassau? The booze packages seem a big incentive but the bars were all understaffed leading to long waits and arguments between passengers. Couldn’t wait to get off. Don’t waste your money. Read Less

We looked forward to our family vacation on a four-day cruise for my wife, myself and our two teenage daughters. Unfortunately, our first experience on Norwegian Cruise Lines was a disaster and will be our last with this cruise line. My advice to readers is look elsewhere for a cruise, because Norwegian Cruise Lines has fundamental and systemic problems, and the employees just don’t care. Our “Mini-Suite” was a joke and not large enough for two adults and two teenagers. Compared to other cruise lines it was a normal cabin in terms of size. When I asked guest services to come and show us how four people were intended to sleep in this room, I was told, “Go figure it out yourself with housekeeping, the room is rated for four people.” FAIL The sports bar had no sports for the cruise because the satellite TV was not working on the entire ship. One of the bartenders in the sports bar kept double charging for each drink, because I had a drink package. When I informed guest services, they didn’t seem to care, once again. I also tried to make a reservation for a specialty restaurant by calling the reservation line. I was told everything was booked. I decided to go to the restaurant and ask the hostess, and she told me “we have lots of room, what time would you like to reserve for dinner?” All FAIL Finally, the food at the buffet was either overcooked and uneatable or undercooked and raw. I selected a beef kabob one night and it was seared on the outside and completely raw inside. I also selected a piece of chicken that was a quarter inch thick and I could not cut it with a knife because it was so overcooked like shoe leather. One night at the Seven Seas restaurant I ordered a NY Strip. What I was served was a fat and gristle sirloin that was a quarter inch thick. My wife ordered an Asian Salad and it was served still half frozen. FAIL There are some many choices for cruise lines, and most of them do the basics well. Unfortunately, the Norwegian Cruise Lines can’t even get the basics right. The best advise we can offer is book your cruise with a cruise line that values getting the basics right. Unfortunately, NCL does not. Read Less

We had previously cruised Amawaterways on the Danube two years ago and were impressed by the level of service and excellent food so we opted to book again. This time we chose the Rhine and Main waterways. Even though we were on Amawaterways oldest ship, the AmaDante, it was exquisitely maintained and the smaller ship made for a more intimate cruise. We had a group of 18 on this trip and everyone totally enjoyed themselves. The food and service were again exemplary, the cabin was fine and the shower was outstanding. I did appreciate that Ama now offers and exercise coordinator on the ship, although I must confess, even though I had intended on taking part in the daily regimen, I never made it. Several of our group did make each and every session and totally enjoyed it. The local guides that Ama arranged were excellent, knowledgeable, and funny. Ports were interesting, although I would rank the Danube cruise as a more scenic waterway. The Rhine is very commercial and not scenic, the Main is scenic but the number of locks you traverse cuts into your free time in the towns. The WiFi is very spotty throughout the cruise. I would highly recommend Amawaterways for your river cruise experience. We put down a deposit for a future cruise while we we were on this one. Read Less

We chose this cruise to celebrate our 27th anniversary and my wife wanted to see the Panama Canal. One of the ports took us to Cartagena and it was a beautiful experience. This was our first trip to Columbia and to South America. We also got a round trip ticket to the place called Hell in the Cayman Islands. LOL. No one-way ticket there for me. This was our 9th cruise and I can tell you that the embarkation (and our luggage getting to our room) was the fastest and smoothest we've ever experienced. Great job Princess. The cabin was in great shape and our steward, Arthur, was impeccable in his duties. He always had a smile on his face. Our dining room staff was awesome, as well. Arvi and Roland (if you're lucky enough to get them as your servers), were very attentive and pleasant. Again, the best we've ever experienced on a cruise ship. Finally, I was a finalist in and wound up winning the Voice of the Ocean singing competition and the mentors (David and Jennifer) were incredible. It was an awesome experience singing with a live orchestra too. If you try this, go for Lola's team!! She was the "best judge." LOL. We love sailing with Princess and can't for the chance to go again. Read Less

It was advertised as a Bounty Adventure, to follow the route taken by the mutineers from the Bounty after they put Bligh and some onto a whaling boat. We visited Norfolk Island, two places of Tonga including Nuku'alofa, three for Fij but only two were possible due to high winds for Dravuni Island, we were able to visit Port Denarau and Suva before our final stop at Noumea. We had a descendent of the mutineers who lives on Norfolk Island to give us talks about the island and the mutineers, very interesting. We were disappointed by the lack of variety for activities, most were held inside eg trivia and bingo during the day, it would have been good to have more exercise activities such as gentle exercises or aquarobics. Our Tai Chi class which was much enjoyed was discontinued after the teacher had to disembark at Suva ? reason. We had a couple of sessions from a doctor who spoke about healthy living, this would have been good if done at beginning of cruise, so many grossly overweight passengers on board. The Black Circus venue needs a lot of work done, old tired seats, too few seats for so many people wishing to attend the morning trivia and bingo sessions. The whole ship looks tired and will need refurbishment. Read Less

Staff generally trying hard to please but let down by poor planning and ignorance. Do not travel on this vessel if you are vegetarian, vegan or allergic to anything. Examples include chicken in the vegetarian dishes, not by accident. Evidently chicken is a vegetable? One of my party is allergic, two don’t eat meat. One restaurant catered if preordered but everything else was unwilling to modify even a salad roll. Very disappointing. The cabin is worn, needs painting and the fridge acts like a hot box (it does not work). Room service breakfast for my mothers room never showed up and an industrial dishwasher opposite our room blew up leaving our room filled with a pungent, fowl smell. Also, the shower fittings seem to have been retrieved from the titanic. All in all, it’s a cattle class experience at a first class cost. May the fleas of a million camels infest your armpits, or, take a cruise on the Pacific Aria. Suggest it only for those you wish to scorn. Read Less

Cabins need a refurb. Public areas ok. Entertainment was hit and miss. Ventriloquist was excellent a really funny show. Take that experience were good. Not sure about the headliners, didn't enjoy any of their shows. Drinks prices high. Charged for shuttle buses we waited for over an hour for one and in the end paid for a taxi back to the ship, other cruise lines provide these free of charge. Customer service terrible. Some staff rude. The guy who greeted you at the Windjammer always had a smile and was great with the kids. The food overall wasnt on par with other cruise lines and didnt think the Italian specialist restaurant was worth the additional surcharge. Facilities onboard for kids are the best we've experienced at sea, Ie. flow rider, rock climbing, ice skating, arcade, sports court. Probably wouldn't book again on this ship but would give RCL another go. Read Less

I traveled recently with my 2 adult sons, daughter in law, & 3 grand kids between the ages of 3-8. Coco Cay was so much better than when we visited there 2 years ago. Lots of free activities, variety of food and plenty of chairs and umbrellas throughout the property. It was hard to do all the onboard activities but at least one in our group did the flow rider, Escape Room (super hard but we got out with 17 mins to spare!), Sky Pad and rock climbing. No time for a family putt putt golf tournament. We did see the great ice skating show but did not get on the ice ourselves. Also enjoyed the singing and dancing production but not sure we understood the theme. Found the MDR food better than on past cruises but the breakfast we had there one morning left us all underwhelmed. Dinner was much better. Only ate in the Windjammer for breakfast which was fine. Liked the updated look - booths for large groups, community tables and bright colors throughout. The ship itself looked great and no complaints with decor or cleanliness. I had 2 complaints. The first had to do with a ring purchase I made the last night of the cruise. The ring needed to be sized and I was told I only had to call Le Vian and they would handle everything. That was totally not the case. After several calls (Le Vian, after cruise support and Starboard Cruise Services) once I got home I found that I have to send the ring back to a company that handles jewelry purchases for multiple cruise ships. No cost to me but takes 8-10 weeks for me to receive to receive the ring back. The sales clerk on the ship was totally in the dark on the process to get a ring sized. My other complaint was how long it took to get off the ship. They must have put some process in place since I sailed last year to check seapass cards as you get off to make sure you paid your onboard account. The line we got in only had one checker. Another line had 2. This added over 30 minutes to us getting off-just standing in line. Getting on was also slower than I am used to. Mostly going through security. Not sure why so slow this time. Would definitely sail on Mariner again. Read Less

We went 2 adults, 1 child 12yrs, perfect! From stepping on board, the whole experience was brilliant, all staff so helpful, spotless ship, so much going on. We had a cabin on deck 5, so did not got no motion when at sea, the cabin was a good size, & kept extremly clean by Romin. We had the drinks package which is well worth doing, so any drink upto 10€ was included, worth it, as most drinks are 7-8€ + 15% service charge. The entertainment was very good, day & night, if you don't like the party atmosphere then there is the sky lounge, or piano bar on deck 5. The restuarant we had 1st sitting btwn 6.30-6.45, but we never went In till 7-7 15, and was never a problem . Food here was excellent, we never paid to go in other restuarants, as our food so nice, the only 1 we did go to was cirque de soliel, which was 35€ p head, we wasn't impressed, choice of 2 starters, raw tuna or tomato & mozerella, and 2 or 3 main choices, 1 dessert, the theatre hardly had anyone in that ate, so very quite, 1 hour later the people that paid 15€ for show & cocktail came in , the show lasts abt 30mins, we felt better off eating in the inclusive restaurants very disappointed with experience of cirque de soliel, only get bottles of wine, no other choice, and not part of package, so really not worth a 30min show! We done all our own excursions, as found the ship ones expensive, but we chose our own things before we went. We went to a beach in malta on a bus 1.50€ e w, had a lovely day! In Genoa we went to the aquarium which was a 10min walk from ship, they charged 54€, which included a ferry to aquarium, which you did not really need! Trips are personal choice. Disembarking we was given 08.50, but we changed our time to 10 20, no problem in changing. The whole holiday on bellissima was fantastic, we shall be cruising with msc agn. Read Less

Just a note: I can't seem to select just the 10-day portion, we couldn't do the 23 day due to job/time restrictions. MSC Meraviglia Review: 18 Oct 2019 – 28 Oct 2019 Passengers: me (CH), my husband (BH), and our adult daughter (SH). Package: Fantastica: inside cabin, the Easy Drinks, Spa, Arcade/Amusement Park Fun Pass, and Internet (which we upgraded onboard). We reserved both Cirque Shows for the first two full nights (early cocktail show, as the meal didn't appeal). We also reserved two excursions: Tall Ship Sailing Cruise (Halifax) and Lighthouses of Maine (Portland) Cabin# 13300 Steward: William Panorama MDR; 1st seating: Main Server: Rakesh Assistant: Russel Both were excellent, and quickly learned and provided for our preferences. OK, right off the bat, would I sail on the Meraviglia again? Yes. Like all ships, she has good points, bad points and meh points. She's a beautiful ship, with most of the amenities we look for in a cruise ship. Such as: Pools Ropes & trees course Spa Waterslides Specific specialty restaurants: steakhouse teppanyaki Entertainment shows 4-d theater bowling f-1 simulater flight/roller coaster simulator Good points: The Aurea Spa: For me the Spa on any ship is an important yes/no, make-or-break deal. This one was great. With a whirlpool, a bubble bench, 2 steam rooms (dark and light), four saunas (though one seemed down the entire time), an ice/cold room, multiple rain-showers with add-ons, the walk-through alternate hot/cold shower, a salt room, two nice relaxation rooms, some warm lounge chairs in the bubble tub room, and free robes during the cruise (part of our package) It was the best one I've been in on a cruise. All it lacks is a large thlasso pool such as NCL has. Food: The meals in the Buffet and Panorama MDR were very good. I even occasionally wandered off the standards to experiment with new-to-me items. Specialty Restaurants: The Butcher's Cut: excellent, I'd definitely eat there again. We used the Dining Experience option and it was quite filling. Unfortunately, I don't remember our server's name, but he was excellent. (I recall it being Marco -BH) Kaito Teppanyaki: also excellent, and very good at dealing with dietary issues, they were quite willing to swap out for the shellfish, and verified that it was dietary not allergy multiple times. William was our cook and he was one of the best we've had on a cruise. Cirque du Soleil: [note: it's almost impossible for a Cirque show to be bad.] Viaggio: excellent SONOR: the seeming lack of a coherent story makes Viaggio the better of the two. (Corrected to SONOR -BH) Meh Points: General: The white tea/coffee cups in the Buffet are too small. The blue ones were the right size, but were not at every station every day. The tea selection was OK, but needed more plain black tea. MSC, there's a reason the Vanilla/Raspberry tea was almost all that was left when we got back to NYC. The cabin seemed smaller than most other ships. They ran out of San Pelagrino! On an Italian ship! Granted, there were other brands of sparkling water available, but still! No menus posted by the MDRs for the daily meals. Boarding: Not bad, not great: we were told boarding was to start at 1 PM, so we made plans for meeting with a friend for lunch. We got to the Port at 10:30 AM, only to learn boarding had already started. Even then we were in group 13. Boarding went smoothly otherwise. Aurea Spa: No easy in-and-out for the whirlpool and bubble tub tubs in the Spa. I'm short, 5' 1/2” and the entry/exit was doable but awkward. No Color bar! I loved that on the Divina, and it was included in their drinks package. I'm a real fan of teas and those were fantastic. The Drinks Package: We had the Easy Drinks Package, which is nice, but the $6 limit cuts out my favorite drink (Strawberry Daiquiri). It also doesn't include some of the special items (such as gelato and the snack items in the Piazza del Doge) the coupon package on the Divina did. Towel Animals: No towel animals or a program on how to make them. I miss my towel animals. Sea Day Brunches: The breakfasts at the MDR were OK, but when you wind up eating most breakfasts in the Buffet, it's an issue. In fact, one sea day [Thursday the 24th, I believe] they were out of one specialty of the day. Maybe it's just me, but the best sea-day breakfasts/brunches I've had were on Carnival. Steak and eggs! When you're being beat out on food by Carnival, you're doing something wrong. The Buffet: Could we get more beef in the carving stations? None of us like ham, and BH cannot eat any pork. Excursions: Well, the one(s) we went on were good, but the one I was most looking forward too (the Tall Ships) was cancelled due to 'insufficient registration', though when we got to Halifax, they said that particular ship usually stops on the 18th. SH added the Salem Witch Excursion on board and enjoyed it very much. Bad Points: The Specialty Dining Packages: Not quite what we've seen elsewhere. Even MSC Divina had better options. Meraviglia's Dining Packages are, in our opinion, unnecessarily limited. Your specialty restaurants are pre-chosen and the meals provided are fixed. Not that the one in Butcher's Cut is bad, in fact, it seems to be the most relaxed, allowing choices from a limited menu, with options to swap out at an additional cost of half the listed cost of the item swapped. Ocean's Cay? We're not seafood lovers and BH has shellfish issues [dietary restrictions], so only the tuna dinner was even an option. Kaito Teppanyaki is NOT included, just the Sushi bar. Again, seafood issues. Same with the Tapas bar. Even the best plan, the Two + One included Ocean's Cay in the package, though the other was Butcher's Cut and the plus was a Cirque dinner show. We'd have taken that one or the Tryptic if we could have swapped out Ocean's Cay. General: MSC's seeming lack of (or just poor) communication. For example; Italian/Mediterranean Night was just listed as an Elegant Night, so if we hadn't seen the waiters and the tables dressed for it before we got to the Panorama, we'd not have known. Another example was on our last day, a sea day. Around 12:30 PM, while we were already in Panorama and had ordered, they announced that the specialty restaurants were half-off for lunch. I'd have seriously considered Butcher's Cut again if we'd known earlier and BH would have re-done Kaito Teppanyaki. Another communications point is our repeated attempts to get confirmation that MSC knew I used a CPAP. In fact, the only line we've used that acknowledged my CPAP was Carnival. Things I'd like to see in the future: A list of Elegant/Specialty Nights posted/provided on the first day. A listing of the dates for the various shows available on the first day. Menus for the MDRs posted daily (as on every other ship we've been on) I'd also love to see MSC have a ship based out of New York, as it's much easier for us to sail from. Maybe one that does that Grand Cruise Meraviglia is making in Oct 2020 as a routine sailing, allowing for both north and south trips regularly. Both routes seem very nice, missing only St. Kitts, our favorite island. Add a Brazilian style steakhouse as well. And, yes, Towel Animals, please! Read Less

Living in South Florida, we were ready to get away from the heat and travel to a cooler climate for a few days. Had cruised on MSC Divina and MSC Seaside, so decided to give the Meraviglia a try. We were not disappointed! The ship is just beautiful, and lovingly maintained. Officers and staff were very friendly and often visible. We had a balcony cabin and initially thought closet and storage space was tight, but we actually were able to unpack everything and store our luggage. Hanging hooks on the wall added great space for winter coats and outerwear. We spent 2 wonderful nights in NYC before a memorable sailaway. Embarkation was a breeze.Having heard things were backed up on the previous cruise, we waited till about 2:30 to head to the port. We literally walked on board immediately. Since our departure was delayed from 7 pm to 10pm we sailed past the Statue of Liberty under the stars....it was just breathtaking! The Canadian itinerary was perfect for the time of year. We took excursions in all ports. The trip to Peggy's Cove was our favorite. Portland,Maine and Boston were on our own, as we have lived there and know those cities well. Our onboard was terrific. We have cruised many times before, and our cabin steward Chris, and his colleague Jeremy, both from the Phillipines were the best we have ever had. They anticipated any needs we had, and their service was always timely. Cannot say enough about these two!! We enjoyed the food onboard, loved the pizza and had a great meal in Ola, the tapas restaurant. The ship itself is grand. The design and furniture inside the ship is very modern and classy. The adults only area called the Hollywood is amazing and no other ship compares. We liked it so much that we went there everyday. The cabins are wide and near providing a fresh feel. The bed matteress and pillow is very comfortable and felt new. The tv was great as it was big in size and the selection of movies on demand was great. Being all free was also a bonus. The food in the dining room and buffet was in an abundance and god quality. There was a wide range of entertainment on board with something always to do. It was our best trip to date and look forward to our next voyage with Princess. Just like the Captain used to say "The magnificent Majestic Princess..." Read Less

This was our fifth cruise on MSC. We have been on Divina twice and Seaside twice. I had expected that MSC had learned their lessons with the Divina and the Seaside, but was terribly disappointed. We cruised on the Meraviglia because Portland and Boston stops were desirable, as was Peggy's Cove in Halifax. The ports were fine; it was the experience on the ship that was disappointing. MSC failed to transition from European cruises to what is expected on this side of the ocean. There was also a large number of people who must have been sick when they boarded because coughing and sneezing quickly became the norm on the ship. I think many people board with illnesses because they're too cheap to purchase travel insurance. At boarding, we were never asked if we were sick. Most other cruise lines always ask that question and hope that people will be honest. The ship is absolutely beautiful, as are the other MSC ships cruising in the US. Dining: The Main Dining Room menu was broken down in two parts; there were items that changed each day and a standard menu that was basically the same during the entire cruise. The food that changed each day was not typical American fare and appeared unappetizing at best. The standard menu had NY strip steak, chicken, and salmon, so we usually ordered from that side of the menu. Shrimp cocktail the first few days was cool, not cold, and very small in size; I think they were left over from the previous weeks cruise. Also, presentation was terrible; a few shrimp dropped in a bowl on top of some lettuce and a little cocktail sauce. Definitely looked like mass production. The quality and temperature of the shrimp improved on about day 3 or 4 to where they were very good; presentation never changed. Our waiters were fantastic and did their best to make us feel welcome; absolutely no complaints there. The Buffet was horrible. The food was bland and selections were very limited and not tasty. We had a large contingent of Europeans and Japanese on board and it seemed that MSC catered to their tastes rather than to the Americans on board. Passengers actually touched the food on the Buffet with their hands rather than using serving utensils. Maybe it's a cultural thing. Also, people cutting lines was the norm rather than the exception. The specially restaurant menus were uninspiring so we didn't even try them. Hopefully, someone in Miami with Divina or Seaside will help them get their menu selections and presentation up to par. Embarkation: This went fine and we boarded the ship without much difficulty. I just wish someone would have been screening for passengers who were obviously sick as they passed through embarkation in New York. Entertainment: Divina and Seaside have the best entertainment at sea; no other ships come close, and unfortunately Meraviglia falls into the later group. The did not use the same production company as Divina and Meraviglia. Some of their shows were very poorly planned. The theater held about 1000 passengers at a time. One show was a ventriloquist, another was a magician doing card and ball tricks. I doubt anyone beyond the first ten rows in the center of the theater could even see the cards or the dummy's mouth move; really poor planning. Their singers had very good voices; there were three opera type singers and two other singers who had nice voices but limited range. Their dance troop appeared in just about every show so music was almost always up tempo and geared toward a younger audience. The had one show called "Virtual" that was strictly pop and geared toward an audience of 25 to 40 year olds; unfortunately, most of the audience appeared to be 60+. Divina and Seaside have a Frank Sinatra review and close with a Michael Jackson show on the final night; these shows are probably the most popular shows they have; Meraviglia had neither. But, hopefully they will adjust to the American market. They did have some good entertainment in various lounges on the ship. We intended to book a future cruise on Meraviglia when we boarded the ship, but decided against it as we experienced too many disappointing features as outlined in this review. Onboard Shops: These were typical of most cruise ships; nothing spectacular. Service: I thought the crew was very polite and attentive. The Meet and Greet was very nice. The ship's officers were very nice. Shore Excursions: We visited Peggy's Cove in Halifax; definitely a must see. We also took the Lighthouse Tour in Portland; that was very nice. And in Bar Harbor, we did the Acadia National Park and Lobster Feast; the park was scenic, the Lobster Feast was fun, but the lobster was a bit over-cooked and a little tough, but it was a good time. Disembarkation: We had no problem leaving the ship. Everything went smooth because we used Uber and met our ride around the corner from the cruise port. There was mass confusion where people were trying to catch regular metered taxis; the line was extremely long and there was no one assisting people in hailing cabs. Read Less

The food on this cruise the coral princess was the worst we ever had on a cruise .food was overcooked and at times criminated.the variety was awful in fact terrible. breakfast was minimal and lacked fresh fruit,we were told fresh fruit was only for decrative purposes on cakes. The lunch time food was mushy and you didn't know what you where eating. The evening was the same. The ship itself was old and needs refurbishment ,some of the public toilets on the ship smelled badly. The lifts were quite dirty. The shore excursions were the places that you wouldn't what to visit. The staff aboard the ship were very good and helpful but they couldn't do a lot about the food. The embarkation was fast because we took our own baggage.we would not go on a princess cruise again and would definitely not recommend it to anybody. We are extremely disappointed Read Less

We were in a large group. Perfect fir us to hang out and also do things separate from group. Our room was great, service was not amazing and the communication of where entertainment was held was missed by most of us. Probably our fault. We all had many drinks, ate with the sane servers each night and no attempt to make trip special was seen. I just found that the service was not personal or personalized in any area. Some of the bar staff were rude and the wait times were long. Overall a good trip, just surprised by the lack of smiles, greetings and interaction from service personnel. Comedy show was great, the pool area was nice and the fitness center all though crowders at times, it was nice equipment and you were able to get a good workout in daily. Highly recommend the drink packages! Making reservations for dinner was easy. Read Less

Picked the Anthem to experience a big ship and visit Bermuda which I had not seen in 30 years. The Pros: Cabin 3652 was larger than expected. Quiet too! The crowd was not a problem. Service was spectacular everywhere. The Cons: Food was just ok. Seems like everything was overcooked. We only ate at the main dining room once. There were two tables behind us that were part of a group. They constantly shouted to each other. We could not here our table's conversation. Drinks in the dining room were tiny. All drinks were very expensive. $12 -$16 for a bourbon. Best Bar was in the Solarium. Bartenders remembered our drink and the pour was better. That being said, we do not drink enough to make the packages worth it. On other ships, we were able to buy a bottle and mixers or carafs. Options not offered on the Anthem. Entertainment: While most people seem to complain, I thought the shows were very good. Talent was superior. On the other hand, thought the one comedian we saw was boring. Make the reservations and show up 20-30 minutes for best seats. Nothing was overly crowded. Bermuda: well can't stop progress. Thought the Hamilton has lost it's charm. Ate at the popular Hog Penny. Food was just ok. But atmosphere worth going for drinks. Horseshoe Beach: Absolutely worth going. We opted for ship's excursion thinking. What a mistake. Left 15 minutes late. Told us we would leave the beach 15 minutes later than previously scheduled. Also told wait at the same spot where we were dropped off. Wrong. Left us stranded. Took the $7 shuttle. Great experience. Driver funny and informative. Absolutely avoid the ship's excursion. If you get to the beach by 10am, plenty of spots available and chairs and umbrellas to rent. Read Less

We chose this cruise because it offered opportunities to visit California and enjoy a cruise. However, many seniors and handicapped people were on this cruise. I felt they were not as accommodating for them. The elevators could not accommodate walkers, wheelchairs, scooters and able-bodied cruisers. They were so small that they could hardly accommodate 12-13 people when the capacity was 18. They need to figure out a way to help the handicapped if they want them to be assessible to all areas. They did have 3 pool areas; one for families, one for adults with no children, and one for those who wanted more privacy. Be selective about the excursions. Some of them are not worth the money. For example, our San Diego excursion cost $60 each to take a 4-hour city tour where you really did not get to spend time walking and checking out the local sights. The marina had an area just down from the ship that was great with shopping, tours, and restaurants that was within walking distance. The wine tours, Carmel and Monterrey were very nice. Espanada Mexico was a very poor tour to the shopping area; I would not recommend that tour. We heard that the Steinbeck excursion was very good as well. Do some research before your choose your excursion. Sometimes, it is just nice to enjoy a day on the ship and walk to nearby areas. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and make the trip great. Embarking and disembarking went smoothly. I would definitely take this cruise again. Read Less

Our class chose this destination on a majority vote for our 45th college reunion. We wanted a cruise that would take us to the East Coast and Canada for the Fall Foliage. Our travel agent suggested a Princess cruise based on previous clients' recommendations. The embarkation was smooth and all the staff were very helpful and showed us the way to our stateroom and the dining room for lunch. Our stateroom was in a quiet location, clean, had a balcony, and the space was just right for my husband and me. The bed was very comfortable and the comforter was light and warm. The Medallion made it so easy to get in and out of our room, go through lines when exiting or returning to the ship. It also made it easy to shop, pay for drinks or other items on the ship; we did not need to bring our wallets and money on board. The food, entertainment, service and staff on the Regal Princess were all first rate!! I will return to this ship for another cruise with family and friends! Read Less

Wont be using RC again or recommending them. Needed something to fit in school holidays. I wanted plenty to occupy child and flexible enough to allow them to eat / play / explore without pressure. So we could all have a break. Unfortunately it didnt work like that. Boarding was straightforward having cruised before I expected to go straight to my room find cases outside, unpack, go exploring/ have snack etc. No, cant go to room til 1:30. But my access card is in my room not issued on admission to boat? When we did get in cases not there, in corridor about 100m away. Kids club was loved by our lo when it went to plan.It was closed for 2hrs between sessions so say 12-2. Too long for a meal but not long enough to do anything else. The pm session finished at 5pm. She could not eat until 6pm cue one hangry, frustrated disabled child. It closed at 10 so if she watched a late show she couldnt eat afterwards. I am used to being on cruises where you can eat complementary food at almost any time. Granted the selection is limited by time of day but you can get something...couldnt get anything unless prepared to pay. No poolside food or tables. Cant leave child unattended in pool so you have get them out back to room to get changed. Only one buffet on ship for 4000+ people, what are you thinking? They were stopping people going in for breakfast because it was becoming dangerous. Wet floor signage that we watched 3 people fall over in 45mins!! We cannot get breakfast on time so cannot join in morning activities. So much time wasted waiting for lifts a ship this size needs more although I accept you cant retro fit them. So many facilities closed or available to book only. When you book them no-one tells you they are now closed due to weather. So when you take your child there they tell them no. Even though you have booked. Cue upset child because 'I have booked it' to them means a promise its happening. Things advertised we never found like laser tag. Then on last day it was mentioned in on board brochure as a competition. Most of what was 'exciting' for children in clubs never actually happened. Says on todays agenda 'team ball sports' or whatever. Our lo would then get excited, she likes sport. ''No we played with playdough' or a game, she's nearly 11! This added to her anxiety and she wanted to go home after 3 days because of the lack of structure. So no-one enjoyed their holiday The only positives were staff were really kind and helpful right across the ship. The food when we could access it was nice. but we wont be travelling with you again. Cabin had very limited storage and balcony was obscured by the structure of the boat but they arent deal breakers Read Less
