I’d not cruised with Celebrity before but had seen a fabulous itinary in the Far East for 2024 so thought I’d try this taster cruise.
As a solo traveller, how I’m catered for IS important.
Didn’t get off to a good start when I arrived at my allotted time to be told I’d have a long wait as everyone had arrived early doors and there were queue problems.
having queued for almost 2 hours I ...
Total chaos in dining room every nite. Reservation app didn’t work- reservations changed on us with no notice- total mess! Food mediocre at best. Room service hit & miss on whether you would actually get orders. No safe in room for valuables, broken down bed had to be replaced. New carpet shedded horribly all over clothes ea day. No vacuuming allowed to keep it under control due to hundreds ...
Don’t get on this boat!
We took the kids on Paradise for a relatively last minute cruise (booked 60-ish days out), b/c it was fairly inexpensive and out of Tampa.
We were so disappointed. My husband and I just tried to go with the flow and make the best of the trip but the ship made it nearly impossible.
The sanitation on this boat is HIDEOUS. All of the hand washing stations (not that ...
This was our fifth cruise - third on Carnival and one each on Princess and Norwegian. It was our second time to Alaska, having previously completed an Alaska cruise tour on Princess. This was by far the worst cruising experience we have had, mainly due to illness and terrible food (poor food handling and preparation).
The good:
Great price, ship at only 2/3 capacity, awesome weather, some ...
I had booked a handicap cabin, on the very back of the boat. I did the research and based on the pictures; it was large enough that there was enough room for all my assistance stuff. I checked cabin dimensions, I scoured the internet for photos, I choose cabin 8271 because it had more square footage than the other wheelchair accessible cabins, both in the cabin and the deck. It also, according to ...
We chose this cruise because of Glacier Bay, which did not disappoint. However, the rest of the cruise had some major disappointments.
Dining: The dining rooms had very good food, but the time to get your meals was unbelievably long. We had to spend a couple hours anytime we wanted to have formal dining. Portions were quite small, I always ordered two entrees and didn't hesitate to try new ...
Alaska Is my favorite cruise to take. Before sailing Princess sent an email advising that there was a change to the published itinerary due to a technical factor that required a reduced cruise speed. Because of this, the stop at Ketchikan would be replace by a 3 1/2 hour stop at Icy Straight Point and arriving at Juneau 2:30pm. After boarding the ship in Seattle and entering my cabin, I found a ...
The ship is very dated to start. Don’t expect any new amenities.
There were many public sinks or toilets out of order that we’re out of service and never got fixed, the hallways weren’t air conditioned. I get the impression princess is trying to save a buck by making the guest experience barely tolerable.
There were problems at every step— from not receiving my luggage to not receiving a ...
The lack of good service on this cruise was ridiculous! Workers pushing carts would plow you down if you didn’t get out of the way! Who ever shouted the loudest got served next at bars because there was no orderly que. The much-marketed Guy Fieri BBQ restaurant was closed most of the days of our cruise. The food in the buffet was horrible…it was over cooked or undercooked, meat or chicken was ...
Was looking forward to this Alaskan inner passage cruise with 4 stops scheduled. Just before sailing, we were emailed that one full-day stop (Ketchikan) would be canceled. A short 4-hour stop substituted (Icy Strait Point). What really happened? They had to cancel that substitute stop as well AND didn't make it to Juneau in time to have any excursions there. Engine trouble. But I've now read other ...
