The Canal full transit was an exceptional experience

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Star

Selected this cruise for the Panama Canal experience, LA to Miami, February 1-15, which was handled superbly from having a narrator of the cruise through to having the staff having coffees, drinks, pastries etc throughout the area and lunch on Deck 12 (need sharp elbows for the rush for t-shirts) Captain Matthias Anderson was exceptional; the first time we have heard a captain give overview ...

Good and bad in equal measure

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Celebrity Solstice

We booked the back to back from Sydney to Auckland then back to Perth. The cruise ticked all the boxes of places we wanted to see and we thought it would be easier than the alternative of lots of flights because of the sheer scale of the Australia and to some extent New Zealand. On hindsight we should have done a couple of weeks driving round New Zealand - even for us oldies it would have been ...

Cruise the Panama Canal

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Coral Princess

We chose this cruise to go through the Panama Canal and it ended in San Francisco which is home for us. The ship, Coral Princess, had been in dry dock for 12 days prior to our cruise and the contractors were not finished with the upgrades such as new carpet and flat screen TVs in the rooms. Nice upgrades, but there were rolls of carpet about the ship and painting still being done. Embarkation ...

First cruise after dry dock

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Coral Princess

This was the first cruise of the Coral Princess after a rehab in dry dock. Carpets have been replaced, flat screens added to all rooms with satellite reception, new paint and improved internet access are among the changes. The ship is small and was built for the Panama Canal. Overall the cruise gets high marks. My husband and I are in our early 60's and were among the youngest people on the ...

Excellent cruise with some quibbles

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Celebrity Solstice

First cruise with Celebrity, had previously done 2 Alaskan cruises with HAL. We prefer a more sedate and classy vibe, but the reviews for the analogous HAL cruise ship were poor in comparison. In general I think this cruise is targeted towards the livelier of the older crowd. Itinerary was fine. I would've preferred fewer cities and more nature. It's a bit of a tradeoff, though, since ...

Very good food, nice staff and clean ship

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Meraviglia

My wife and I went on a weeks cruise in january 2019 and we were a bit nervous because of the bad critics we have read. We both agreed that compared to Celebrity Cruise, MSC Meraviglia had much better food and much better varity of wine (including a lot of good european wines). The coffee was true italian style espresso - top quality. And the best is that it was served in almost every bar and ...

I’m writing this review as part two covering the last 10 days of a 21 day back to back sailing so I can detail the second cabin and Eastern Caribbean ports. For a more detailed overall review of our sailing please first see my part one as this will be a shorter review covering only things specific to this sailing. As back to back passengers we were able to be some of the first allowed back ...

Fantastic Cruise

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Celebrity Solstice

This was our first cruise on a large ship and the Celebrity Solstice was recommended to us by friends. We were very happy and impressed with the level of service and the overall quality of the food. The ship is lovely with plenty of places to go and be entertained or you can also find several quiet spots too. The nightly shows were all very good. We were particularly impressed with the amazing ...

This was our first time sailing on MSC. Overall we were very satisfied with the cruise. The staff were all very friendly even when dealing with some not so friendly customers. We really liked the food, bars and "Drinks on us" package was fine for us. The ship is beautiful. We did miss the outside areas since you cannot walk around the whole outside without coming in. Improvement in the ...

Great value, great cruise

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on MSC Divina

User Avatar

We sailed on MSC Divina because we got got a bargain and to entice us we were "matched" to the level on NCL/Carnival, we found the ship to be nicely designed, our cabin was comfortable and the amount of amenities and dinning was plentiful, we were hesitant because people's reviews had made it seem like there was too much pasta on the menus, we found the opposite, the food was very tasty and the ...
