Our first ever cruise and trip of a lifetime, but food was mediocre at best!

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

The trip itself was fantastic, Alaska is an exceptionally beautiful state, but when you go on a trip to a destination that prides itself on being the crab, salmon and halibut capital of the world, wouldn’t you think there would be some of any of those served on the ship? Well no there wasn’t, and the the food in all restaurants, because we tried every single one, was the blandest food we’ve ever ...

Lots of Improvement Needed

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Carnival Liberty

Ok we just got off the Carnival Liberty on their four day Bahamas adventure from Port Canaveral. 1. We got a Captain's Suite 9199. Nice cabin, best views of any cabin anywhere. But, if you want a view from the balcony, you will have to stand up. Had a tough time getting our steward. Yet, he was very nice. The only perks you get is getting on the boat. You can come earlier than your posted ...

Great staff, not so great facilities

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

Did the Western Caribbean itinerary out of Miami during the week of Memorial Day. The good: The staff, particularly the bar staff, was excellent. Howl at the Moon remains one of the best things on NCL. Dylan Mandlsohn had some great comedy shows. Rock the Pour House with Guilty Pleasure was some great, great music (though see below.) Food and service in the specialty restaurants (we did ...

Mixed feelings

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Noordam

This was my 5th cruise, and I chose this ship because it was smaller than previous ones, thinking that the on board experience would be more personal. It didn’t get off to a good start when the muster drill confused everyone, and people waited in the wrong places, so it had to be redone. Even then, as everyone was crowded onto the outside of the ship, instructions could not be seen or heard. ...

Dry dock didn't help

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Grand Princess

This is our sixth cruise on the Grand, and our most disappointing. When we last cruised on this ship, we knew it was going into dry dock, and asked what was going to be refurbished. We realized that most of the crew would not really know what the plans were, only corporate big wigs had that info, but scuttlebutt usually gets some good insight. We were told that the staterooms were to be ...

Ship nice but poorly designed, service really underwhelming.

Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Ventura

We'd only been on one cruise before, and that was with Royal Caribbean on their Vision Of The Seas ship, which is about 80% of the size of this one, I think. This was a cheap cruise, so we decided to (despite the not fantastic reviews) plump for it and see how it went. We didn't have elevated expectations and unfortunately we were right to have had that attitude! I was absolutely blown away ...

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Norwegian Escape

To summarize my very long review below, a brief version for anyone just looking for the cliff notes: The Good: Top notch friendly employees, Room size/cleanliness/comfort, Drinks, Large Casino, Mojito Bar, Tapas, Taste/Savor, buffet, Starbucks. The Bad: Not enough elevators, not enough smoking areas, far too crowded, lots of up-selling, not enough explanation, extremely long wait times at ...

We were a group of ten and we all had a wonderful experience! Will we do it again? Most definitely, we are actually planning the next cruise lol! Our 3young one had a great time. Also all the adults had a fabulous vacation... In our opinion the service and entertainment in this cruise was fantastic. The crew was great and my favorite the CAS host and casino crew was my definite Cruise Heroes! ...

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Grand Princess

The Grand Princess went round trip from San Francisco, our local area. We did not want to fly and stay overnight for a cruise to Alaska, and this was convenient. This is an older lady with a newly painted face. The Grand was rehabbed in dry dock in March and all carpets and tile look new. I would call her the Grand Old Lady because while many elements were retrofitted inside, she still ...
