My daughter and i enjoy cruising together and decided to do a royal caribbean cruise up to alaska. she saw the cruise at a good price last january, and some family decided later, that they wanted to join us, but price went up very steeply so they did not come. i am diamond level and daughter is ruby level. I get quite a few perks. a room up on deck 13 only diamond member can get in, 4 hours a ...
Have sailed NCL many times and it has always been one of my favorites. But the Escape is in need of a refresh, ship was run down, furniture, paint, cabins, overall, in shabby condition. Ship was very short staffed and you could feel it. The usual friendly, smiling service was missing, the limited staff is likely overworked and tired. Bar staff was almost rude with their kurt replies and ignoring ...
NCL did a great job of avoiding Hurricane Lee. It was fine that we had to seek safe harbor in NY for the last 3 days of our cruise. The food was great, Choir of Man was fabulous and the staff worked hard to keep us comfortable.
However, we encountered some serious problems. #1 was the InEscapable Smoke Cloud on the Escape, no matter where we went on the ship. Bars, Lounges, inside, ...
We chose this cruise to visit the east coast and possible see some early fall color. We really like the size of the ship. The itinerary of the cruise is another reason we picked this cruise. Very good stops.
The surprise for me was:
1. The Food. WOW, the food quality and Varity was really reduced on this sailing. Dining in the main dining room, the offerings and selection were really reduced ...
My bid was excepted and we had a YC room. Embarking was 15 minutes from car to Top Sail Lounge. Our room a deluxe suite was gorgeous and large. The balcony was so big and we only had 1 room next to use. The yc dining room to the other. So quiet and the butler Emmanual was amazing. We really enjoyed the ship within a ship. The pool area was always clean, staff always asking if you needed ...
We choose this line because it goes through the Tracy Arm Fjords. I have to say after 36 cruises this is the most disappointing - the boat was dated and our room was not clean. We had to complain to the front desk and get them to clean again and still they missed cleaning the drawers and mirrors. The food was horrible in the dining room and buffet and only one of the specialty restaurants was ...
My recent Norwegian cruise to New England and Canada left me with mixed feelings and a deep sense of disappointment. While the picturesque destinations were undoubtedly beautiful, the overall experience was marred by poor customer service and signs of cost-cutting measures throughout the cruise.
Canceled Ports of Call:
The first major setback of our cruise was the unexpected cancellation of ...
What should have been a relaxing cruise for two ended up as a constant battle against a ship and its crew.
There was no hospitality on board, worst cruise experience I have ever had. At one point I had to fear for my life and not one person would take responsibility. We were stuck in line on deck 2 with over 100 other passenger for more than a hour with no information or assistance, only after ...
We chose the ship because we had friends in Sitka and wanted to visit them and wanted to leave from Vancouver where we also looked forward to meeting old cruising friends. We were 4, Dad, son and two faughters, all Seniors but all Diamond on RCL. I was in a wheelchair for getting on and off and for longer on board ventures. We booked a 2 bedroom Grand Suite because it met our needs for separate ...
Chose ship for itinerary and heard good things. Crowd was tame. Very few children. Used to more rowdy crowd, so this was nice. Dining room choices very bland. Not much fish offered. Desserts were lousy. Only good desserts were cheese cake. Desserts in buffet missed the mark every time!!! Carrot cake tried 3 times, where was the cream cheese in the frosting?? Chocolate dessert in dining room only ...
