It is so hard to give a very good review for out sailing on Nov.12-19. I don't know where to start. People tried to do there best. This was out 13th cruise, and 3rd with NCL. Originally, we were sail in August, but because of staff shortage we were required to rebook. We received our full deposit back and were future cruise credit in the form of the cost of our inside room. Of course the cost ...
Not what I expected, the two dress-up nights were very very underwhelming, nothing much on, and the food was just very disappointing. Breakfast one morning the sausage was definitely off yuk!! In general, the meals were rather a letdown, some tables were rather small for 4 people and all the plates, etc.
Very little entertainment during the day unless you enjoy dancing which is on in the ...
We selected this cruise for a 50th-year reunion of college frat. Entry to the ship was very organized and quick as was exiting the ship at the end of the cruise, The problem was the cruise. They are not designed to handle 6,000 people on this ship. all of the venues are too small to handle the crowd. They have one main show at night but have 2 main dining sittings, Does management have ...
Having been on two previous cruises with NCL, which were lovely, we booked this cruise because of the ports which were shown on the itinerary. NCL left it very late, in fact too late to cancel without forfeiting 50% of our money, before telling us that there was a maintenance problem with the ship and that we had to travel at a slower speed. This resulted in the very two ports we wished to visit, ...
Just returned last Sunday (NOV. 20th) from Caribbean cruise on Nieuw Amsterdam on 14 days of the worst HAL cruise that we ever experienced. With more than 400 days on HAL ships and having sailed on this ship twice before, we never experienced anything remotely like this. In fact it was one of the worst cruises ever on any line including Carnival which can be inconsistent at best. Apparently in an ...
If you are thinking of booking a cruise with NCL then just don’t, at least not before reading about the very poor recent cruise experienced and confirmed by speaking to over 100 people during the cruise
This issues started about 4 weeks before departure. A quick email from the travel company, Cruise Nation in this case, ( who equally gave a very poor experience in so many ways), to say there ...
I sailed on this ship with the same itinerary in November, 2021 and we loved it. So, we decided to do it again on the November 5, 2022 sailing. BIG MISTAKE! Embarkation on day 1 was one hour behind schedule. We had to wait in line in the very warm sun with no shade. We were supposed to depart San Diego at 4pm. We finally made it out of the harbor at 6:30pm. Again, I don't know why we were ...
So we are on a California Coast cruise. Neptune Suite. Have not been on a HAL for 3 years. A lot has changed. New rooms and refreshed ship. That’s nice. No crowded on deck initial safety muster drill. Replaced by scanning your room card at your muster stations. Easier. If you do the Neptune Suite expecting the usual priority boarding, disembarkation, usual exclusive perks, full food selection of a ...
We lost 2 cruises due to Covid and this was our choice to use our FFC.
Embarkation was a mess. We were delayed one hour in the sun, on the pier in San Diego, several passengers were affected by the heat and required the assistance of others in line, there was no Holland America presence to offer them assistance.
We found the crew to be pleasant and friendly.
Menu items in the main dining ...
This was our second Royal Caribbean Transatlantic crossing and what a contrast. Our 2018 trip was a real pleasure. This November 2022 cruise was plagued by mistakes. Almost every day there were last minute changes, conflicting and often duplicate scheduling of events on the ship. Repeatedly, crew made no seating or staging preparations for events. The Cruise Campus was a mess. Examples: Oe ...
