Best staff ever consistently gave us extra service when they noticed my husband's cane.Young woman in the dining room spotted my husband trying to manage his tray and his cane on the first day. After that, as soon as he walked into the dining room, meal after meal, he had a "shadow" who carried his tray for him and served him food. I told the housekeeper for our room that the closet doors were ...
I think we set the bar a tad high for my husband and my first cruise. I'm not sure we could've been taken care of any better. From our Stateroom Steward Ming to our various restaurant staff (Monique, Putta, Van...) to the Expedition staff (Martin & Sophia), we were thankful for everyone's always friendly demeanor and helpfulness.
The boat was obviously well looked after. The onboard ...
The weather was for the most part perfect. Only wildlife we saw was eagle, a distance whale. Don't go to see wildlife. If you want to hike in mud it's perfect. If you need to Kayak ,ride on a zodiac this is your trip. Food was terrible. Almost all cruises now make accommodations for Vegan or vegetarian but their food they prepared was so bad I had to go back to eating food I did not want to eat. ...
We wanted something to try something new for our 40th anniversary. We have been on several ocean cruises and ultimately decided on this cruise because it look fun and interesting.
For stateroom review see below.
The food on board was delicious overall. There were very few dishes I tried that were not my cup of tea but overall all three meals were top notch each day. Open buffet breakfast, ...
Just ended the June 10th, 2023 cruise with Viking Polaris that started in Toronto, Canada and ended in Duluth, MN.
The above average friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff is superb. The expedition team from Argentina was absolutely fun and excellent. This is and expedition ship and itinerary with an emphasis in "science" and active excursions. The ship has many "toys" including a ...
This cruise was the second in our Great Lakes tours & sights & cities.
The Viking Cruises offered the areas that this couple had not seen or visited.
The service on board was great.
Stateroom care & food staff were friendly & caring.
The stateroom was a forward location, that made it quiet from other people noises.
The betting was warm & kept clean on the king size bed.
The main ...
We chose this trip because we had never been to the Great Lakes. The ship itself was above our expectations as were the food and restaurants. The stateroom was lovely and the crew was very attentive and pleasant. The watercraft adventures were fun and interesting. Loved the Special Operations Boats. The land excursions were a mixed bag. The carriage ride on Mackinac Island was our favorite, ...
We have travelled with Hurtigruten before (MS Spitsbergen Norwegian coast) but this was sooo much better. We boarded in Reykjavik and it was a little chaotic - a free for all.
We were in an Expedition Suite (ME class) which was lovely. Bed was very comfortable, as were the chairs. There was a minibar fridge which was stocked with soft drinks and beers, 4 bottles of wine and jars of nuts. These ...
For a while have been contemplating a Viking cruise after having done other brands and the total passenger number was the first allure followed by customer reviews online. This was a last minute trip with little planning on our part and were we surprised and impressed. Top notch accommodations, exquisite decor, calm atmosphere, delicious food and never did we feel surrounded by more than 40-50 ...
My husband and I are both trained in geology and biology. We absolutely loved the combination of the two as we traveled around portions of the upper peninsula that are only available by water. I can't say enough about the amenities offered on board. Art that was amazing, a spa and exercise room and stations that were pure perfection, a library, science lab and music area better than any. I was ...
