This was a 21-day b2b from Jan 5 to Jan 26 with a quite unusual itinerary. I chose it because it included some ports to which I had not been and many which are not visited by many cruise lines. We were the only ship in most places.
The ship – The Silver Dawn is a new ship which had just come out in 2022. It was in beautiful shape with no rust and no worn places. It has an unusual layout – ...
Expectations were high as we flew to South Africa on time {the worry of travelling BA behind us} to find a totally disjointed hotel selected by Silverseas. Well, it’s only one night, it can only get better from here... or so we thought thinking positively.
Next day came and we took a private transfer to the ship. We arrived at the terminal to find around 50 people queuing in front and an hour ...
luxury ship. not a all. from the beginning of not being to board the ship in LA due to computer problems at the port, to the lack of service.
the food on this ship was simply very poor, same menus every day. food was delivered cold and the staff really didn't care.
tour desk and tours were a disaster. absolutely no one knew how to get the passengers off the boat to their scheduled tour. ...
This is our second Silverseas cruise with the first being July 2023. The first cruise was an expedition cruise around the Kimberley region and was fabulous.
We are still onboard the current cruise but I’m exhausted from arguing with the fabulous staff night after night about this antiquated rule that men need a jacket even on informal night. My husband is well attired in smart country club ...
We are in our mid 50s, have done 6 cruises with 5 carriers and this was the worse. Electric wheelchairs, walking frames, everywhere. The average age group is 70+. They love not leaving their rooms or the ship for 2 weeks so it suits them.
The ship is too small (550 People) so is limited to going into small destination ports only as it can’t cope with over 1.5mtr (4ft waves) in places like ...
The booking was triggered by a trip over Christmas and New Year with the destination Central America. Added to this was the cruise line's "reputation" in the premium segment.
The ship is a very new ship (built in 2023) and therefore the condition of the ship is of course top.
The cabins leave nothing to be desired. They are beautifully furnished and offer plenty of space and storage space. ...
In this review you’ll find a few of my photos of Silversea’s culinary offerings. Some will be difficult to guess - some will be impossible. But if you’ve got a few minutes, give it your best shot. You’ll find the correct answers below my review of the Silver Dawn Christmas cruise. Don’t cheat.
Our background is that we have 300+ days on Seabourn, 200+ days on Crystal, 100+ days on Silversea ...
Went with two friends, at their recommendation. Silver Nova is a very nice ship, with good interior design. Service was excellent on board.
The food was a let-down. The menus were great, but the food was mostly below par. We had reservations at the paid dining rooms, but we cancelled when the prices were raised to astronomical levels. I can understand having paid restaurants, but trying to ...
This was our first cruise on Silversea but we have cruised all the ultra luxury brands recently and wanted to see how Silversea stacked up. They were good but we prefer Regent, Seabourn and Explora Journeys over them. I think with some improvements they can be really good but for now they are just not the cruise line for us. We are in our mid 60s and cruise often. The vibe on the ship was a little ...
Dawn- Fort Lauderdale to Bridgetown Dec 11-21, 2024
I was so excited to finally get on the Dawn, as I’d seen the videos etc of the new “Otivum, ancient Roman experience”, in the Spa, including a beautiful, turquoise water pool. I ran up to the Spa and exclaimed- where is the pool?! They told me there was no pool- none at all. Just, a relaxation room with one painting that looked like a scene ...
