Mount Battie and Camden Hills State Park: If you're energetic, you can make the one- to two-hour trek up the mountain. Or take a cab to the picnic area. A variety of hiking trails allow you to leisurely explore the terrain. Or climb to the top of the stone observation tower. Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Edna St. Vincent Millay, a Camden resident from 1903 to 1913, was so moved by this view, it inspired her poem Renascence.
