Lindholm Hoje: The excavations at Lindholm Hoje, Scandinavia's largest Viking burial site, reveal hundreds of stone markers for graves dating to the Iron Age and Viking Age. The museum onsite offers two exhibit halls that tell the story of local life in the area during these times, with plenty of illustrations, reconstructions and artifacts. There are a shop and cafe onsite. Lindholm Hoje, located across the Limfjord from Aalborg, is accessible by local bus or ship's tour.
Aalborg Zoo: Aalborg's most popular attraction is its zoo, located a short ride from the city center. The zoo is home to more than 100 different species of animals, including an African elephant, orangutan, Asian lion, polar bear and Sumatran tiger.
