Powerscourt mansion and gardens is beautiful although I would not put it in the top 10 gardens of Europe, as some claim it is. A nice mix with formal Italian garden, Japanese garden and much more. A huge property to explore. As for the mansion, it was destroyed in 1974 and rebuilt. The interior is mostly retail. No rare history there.

We originally booked because it allowed us Dublin on our own. However we enjoyed Powerscourt Gardens more then Dublin. It was fantastic and a must for any garden enthusiast!! I cannot even put into words the beauty.

Powerscourt was beautiful, but we stayed too long, and the Dublin park tour was a time waster, would have liked to have got straight to Dublin on our own, after the garden tour.

This was a tour of beautiful house and gardens outside Dublin followed by free time in Dublin. The gardens were lovely and well worth the visit but free time I'd Dublin was wasted as there in not a lot to do in Dublin.

A lovely day trip. The waterfall is interesting and a change from buildings to view. The grounds at Powerscourt were lovely. A bit too early for full blooms on the gardens but enough to get a feel for its full potential.

One of the best on the trip. Private subtopical gardens. Distillery was interesting, but no bargains here. Better off buying at the airport duty free. I was on sale there.

The original plan was to go on a private tour however, we received a phone call after breakfast informing us that for various reasons it had been cancelled. We didn't have a plan B in case of this happening (a lesson for future cruises) so sprinted down to the shore excursion desk to see if they had anything available. Unfortunately, we only had minutes to decide and went for Powerscourt Estate and Waterfall tour. This did not turn out to be the best choice. First was the painful stop start, stop start, due to traffic tour of Belfast, then being driven through a run down seaside town which they stopped at for 5 minutes for photo taking (don't know why), and then next on to a waterfall where there was also supposed to be a nature trail. The falls where OK but the nature trail was non- existent. We went onto have lunch at a local pub which was, to be fair, very good but slow service. We then visited Powerscourt Estate itself. The main house had a fire many years ago and was totally gutted and has since been rebuilt into a tacky overpriced shopping mall, the grounds however have been restored and are well worth a visit
