We made our way to the caves using the city bus. It was significantly less expensive (under 5 Euro round trip). If you do this, go early. Make sure to get off the bus at the caves and not in the city of Nerja. We didn't know that the city stop wasn't the end of the line (everyone got off at this stop but there is a stop at the caves after the city stop). We ended up walking from the city center to the caves - a very long walk. The cave visiting times do book up. By the time we got in to see the caves, we didn't have time to get back to the ship. We did get lucky and there were some other people from the cruise that had gone by taxi. They let us share the ride back and we did get back on time. The caves are quite interesting. Read Less

The tour guide was excellent, but headphones would have been great.
Sail Date: September 2017
The tour guide was excellent, but headphones would have been great. Also, you never get to see the cave paintings, but the caverns were impressive.
